Chapter 24 You Must Have Taken Quite a Beating Before, Huh?
Qin Xiao refused to leave, so Ji Nian had to use his foot to “escort” him out.
He closed the door, undressed, and got into the wooden tub.
The water was a little hot, but it felt comfortable. Ji Nian closed his eyes, leaning his head against the edge of the tub.
The boy’s neck had a beautiful curve, his Adam’s apple subtly moving. His eyelashes were as fine as feathers, and his cheeks, steamed by the hot air, quickly flushed red.
He slowly slid down, his head gradually submerging below the waterline until his whole body was immersed.
His hair floated gracefully. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at the single light source above.
Just like his current predicament, the light was right in front of him, within reach… Damn it!
His hand was suddenly grabbed!
“Ji Nian! Wocao, Ji Nian, what’s wrong with you?!”
A lunatic rushed in, thinking he had drowned, and frantically grabbed his hand, pulling him into the light.
“Cough, cough, cough!”
Ji Nian was startled, choking on water and coughing violently, his face turning red, unable to speak.
Qin Xiao looked worried. “What happened? Are you alright?”
“Why did you fall into the water? Were you too sleepy?”
“Did you fall asleep because the bath was too comfortable?”
“It’s a good thing I came in, otherwise you would have drowned without knowing it.”
“Cough, cough, cough!”
“Cough!”
Qin Xiao still held Ji Nian’s hand, patting his back as he coughed violently.
Ji Nian shook him off, and Qin Xiao let go. “I’ll get you a glass of water.”
“No, cough! Cough!”
Ji Nian pointed to the door. Qin Xiao didn’t understand what he was saying, but after two seconds, he nodded.
Just as Ji Nian thought he understood and was going to leave, Qin Xiao “bang” slammed the door shut and came back.
“Cough, cough, cough! Cough!”
Ji Nian coughed even harder. “You, cough! I’m telling you to get out, cough!”
“Me, get out?”
Qin Xiao pointed at himself incredulously. “I just saved you?”
“Get out!”
Ji Nian calmed down, his coughing subsided, but his face was still flushed.
His skin was fair, his hair wet and dripping water, his face veiled in a layer of water vapor, his sharp eyes misty, the corners tinged with crimson.
Qin Xiao looked at him and smiled. “Are you shy?”
“Shy your mother’s rotten egg!”
Ji Nian’s face reddened even more after cursing. Qin Xiao understood, he made an “Oh~” sound, walking step by step towards him, standing by the tub, his gaze looking underwater. “Then there’s nothing more to say, you wash yourself.”
“What about your face?”
Ji Nian truly admired his audacity. “Qin Xiao, can you have a little shame? A man taking a bath, what’s there to look at? If you don’t scram, I’ll beat you up!”
His good mood from bathing was completely ruined.
Qin Xiao really had Ji Nian figured out. He said, “Not later, beat me up now. You know what, you’re whiter and more tender than a girl, I think you’re even prettier than a girl.”
His frivolous mouth completely, successfully, and utterly enraged Ji Nian.
“Is that so?”
Suppressing his anger, he exhaled and raised his hand. “Then come here.”
“Hmm?”
Qin Xiao came closer.
He was standing there clothed, while Ji Nian was naked in the water. Ji Nian couldn’t really do anything to him.
Otherwise, he would just run, Ji Nian couldn’t possibly chase him out naked.
Unexpectedly, Ji Nian calmly said, “Help me scrub my back.”
Just scrub his back?
Qin Xiao raised an eyebrow. Ji Nian’s eyes were calm, his emotions well-hidden, making Qin Xiao believe him.
He took a towel, stood behind Ji Nian, and wiped the boy’s back with the wet towel.
Ji Nian’s skin was fair, his cervical vertebrae prominent, although thin, his shoulders were just the right width. He…Splash! Water splashed everywhere!
Qin Xiao became a drowned rat!!
Ji Nian grabbed his collar and forcefully dunked his head underwater, stepped out of the tub himself, grabbed a nearby garment, wrapped himself in it with one hand, and coldly looked at Qin Xiao who was splashing around in the tub.
“Are you going to keep causing trouble?”
Qin Xiao flailed his arms, gurgling and blowing bubbles.
Ji Nian didn’t dare to continue, he released him after ten seconds.
Qin Xiao supported himself against the tub, his forehead wet, a drop of water hanging from his eyelashes.
“Damn it!”
He spat out the water in his mouth and wiped his face with his sleeve.
“You asked for it.”
Ji Nian said, taking a towel to dry himself and then putting on his clothes.
“Do you know you’re living under someone else’s roof? Are you always this prickly? You must have taken quite a beating before, huh?”
Hearing this, Ji Nian gave a sarcastic laugh. “Do you think there are many people as annoying as you in this world, making trouble for nothing?”
“You…!”
Qin Xiao was actually speechless! He was at a loss for words!
Qin Xiao didn’t hold grudges, not at all.
While bathing, he seemed to forget being dunked in the tub by Ji Nian, and asked him to scrub his back.
“Ji Nian! Come over and scrub my back!”
“Little Niannian! Come here!”
“Little guy? Little prickle? Little cutie? Come here, come here, come here ah ah ah ah!”
Han Qing was outside, Ji Nian couldn’t refuse to help, so he went inside.
He just wanted to quickly scrub for that guy and get out.
The water in the tub came up to Qin Xiao’s chest, he sat inside like a boss, directing Ji Nian. “A little higher.”
“A little lower.”
“A little to the left, yes, a little more to the left.”
Ji Nian didn’t say a word, he didn’t want to talk, he scrubbed wherever Qin Xiao pointed.
“Mmm~ Right, ah~ Comfortable~ Damn~ Comfortable~ “
“Use more force, more force, mmm~”
“I don’t mind the pain, Niannian, use some more force…”
The sounds like he was moaning in pleasure made Ji Nian unable to bear it any longer. He slapped Qin Xiao’s back with a “slap!”
Instantly, a bright red five-finger mountain appeared. Before Qin Xiao could say anything, Ji Nian said, “If you keep moaning like that, all the zombies will come and rape you, let you moan to your heart’s content.”
“But you can’t hit me.”
Qin Xiao turned to look at his back, Ji Nian pushed his face, pushing it out of shape, his mouth pouting. “Do you still want a scrub?”
“Scrub! Scrub!”
Qin Xiao barked like a dog, almost biting.
After bathing, Qin Xiao and Ji Nian moved the tub out, cleaned up the water stains, and Han Qing brought them two bowls of steaming hot noodles.
It contained greens, slices of cured meat, and a few strands of preserved mustard vegetables, the noodles seemed to be hand-rolled.
“Eat and then sleep for a while, you walked all night. I’ll tidy up the rooms for you.”
Han Qing’s house only had two bedrooms.
Han Qing slept in one, needless to say, Ji Nian and Qin Xiao had to sleep together.
“The bed isn’t very big, but you two can sleep on it. Little Niannian, just make do with it, I’ll ask someone to make another bed in a couple of days, then you can separate.”
“…Okay.”
What else could Ji Nian say?
