After Being Reborn, I Became Explosively Popular Across the Entire Internet CHAPTER 166

Chapter 166: I’ll Give You a Chance to Pursue Me

Unable to find a room key, An Jing had no choice but to take Lu Yuqi back to his own room upstairs. He had just checked in that afternoon and hadn’t even had time to unpack.

“You’re really something else. I’ve never had to wait on anyone like this in my entire life, little brother.”

An Jing laid the person in his arms on the bed, took off his shoes and jacket, brought a basin of hot water to wipe his face and body, and was left panting, sweat beading on his face from the effort.

Meanwhile, Young Master Lu, who was being waited on, had already fallen fast asleep. He hugged the blanket, sleeping soundly, smacking his lips and murmuring softly, completely unaware of what he had just done to the other person.

An Jing pulled over a chair and sat down, rubbing his forehead in exasperation.

He had no idea what to do with this kid.

He silently watched the person on the bed, his expression uncharacteristically serious and solemn. His eyes were so deep they seemed bottomless, a complex, indescribable emotion swirling within them.

After a long while, he raised a hand to touch his lips where the other had kissed him, a helpless smile gracing the corner of his mouth.

The next day, the sun shone brightly.

The floor-to-ceiling curtains weren’t fully drawn, left halfway open. Warm, dazzling sunlight streamed through the transparent glass, gradually brightening the dim room where two people lay in bed.

Lu Yuqi’s eyelashes fluttered. A moment later, he struggled to open his eyes. Unaccustomed to the sudden brightness, he frowned in discomfort. His body ached, and his head throbbed slightly.

His mind was still in a hazy, half-asleep state. He groggily closed his eyes again, hugging the blanket in his arms tighter, nuzzling his head against it with a soft hum.

Wait, something… seemed off. Why was this blanket so hard?

He opened his eyes again, wanting to see what kind of blanket it was, only to be met with a handsome face just inches away. All sleepiness vanished in an instant.

A startled cry escaped the young man’s throat as he shot up, his pupils dilating in disbelief at the man sleeping soundly beside him.

This was… An Jing?! Why was An Jing in his bed!

No, wait. He nervously scanned the room’s decor. Although all the hotel rooms looked similar, this was clearly not his.

Lu Yuqi ran a frantic hand through his hair. Fragments of last night’s memories floated into his mind. He had gotten drunk again, and as for what happened afterward…

Damn it! He couldn’t remember a thing!

So, this was An Jing’s room, he was lying in An Jing’s bed, and what he had been hugging wasn’t a blanket, but An Jing’s body?

Could it be… they’d had drunken sex?!

Lu Yuqi immediately looked down. Thankfully, his clothes from yesterday were still on, completely intact. He breathed a sigh of relief, his gaze shifting to the man still sleeping beside him.

For a moment, he didn’t know what to do.

Outside, the sun was bright, bathing the room in light.

Lu Yuqi held his breath, quietly studying the man’s handsome, deep-set features. The emotion he usually kept hidden in his eyes poured out, completely undisguised—it was pure admiration and affection.

In his mind, he traced every inch of that face—the brow, the eyes, the nose, the lips…

If only every day could be like this.

He couldn’t help but reach out, his hand slowly approaching the man’s face. Just as he was about to touch him, the other’s eyes snapped open. Lu Yuqi’s heart trembled, and before he could pull his hand back, his wrist was caught.

Lu Yuqi froze. Getting caught red-handed while trying to touch someone—it didn’t get more embarrassing than this. The tips of his ears burned. He struggled slightly, raising his voice to cover his awkwardness, “Let go!”

“What? Trying to sneak an attack?” An Jing released his hand, leisurely sitting up and stretching his arms. “Classmate Lu, you were quite a handful last night. I barely slept.”

Lu Yuqi was speechless. That was a very misleading thing to say.

An Jing continued, “Kicking the blankets, kicking people… if I weren’t so good-natured, I would’ve thrown you on the floor to sleep.”

Lu Yuqi asked, “How did I end up here?”

“You were drunk, clinging to me and not letting go, even demanding a princess carry.” An Jing watched the young man before him, with his messy hair and extremely complicated expression, and teased, “Classmate Lu, you may act all reserved usually, but you’re quite forward when you’re drunk.”

Hearing this, Lu Yuqi awkwardly averted his gaze. He had no idea what he had done while drunk. Hopefully, it wasn’t like last time…

At the thought, his lips tightened, his facial muscles stiff. Unsure how to face An Jing, he remained silent for two seconds before saying he was leaving, then quickly got out of bed and put on his shoes.

“Wait,” An Jing called out to him. “Lu Yuqi, don’t you like me?”

Lu Yuqi’s steps faltered.

The man’s magnetic, lazy voice came from behind him. “If you like someone, you should say it, not awkwardly hide it away and say the opposite of what you feel. You’ll never get anywhere like that.”

“Am I right, you childish kid?”

The young man’s body was stiff, his legs feeling as if they were filled with lead, unable to take another step forward. After a moment of silence, he retorted in a low voice, “I’m nineteen, not a kid.”

But he knew An Jing was right. His actions were indeed childish. He was stubborn, pretending not to like him when he clearly did. He was fearless in front of others, daring to say and do anything.

But he was afraid… afraid this unrequited love would lead nowhere.

“That’s not the point.” An Jing chuckled and shook his head helplessly. “What? Afraid to turn around and look at me?”

Lu Yuqi turned to face the man on the bed, opened his mouth, and heard his own slightly hoarse voice, “So, what are you trying to say to me?”

An Jing spoke unhurriedly, “I’ll give you a chance to pursue me.”

Hearing this, Lu Yuqi’s pupils widened slightly. The hands at his sides clenched into fists. His eyes were filled with a dazed confusion, his stunned expression a far cry from his usual arrogant, cocky demeanor.

An Jing couldn’t help but smile. He sat cross-legged, his chin resting in his palm, a smile playing on his lips as he looked at the young man opposite him, saying word by word, “If you succeed, I’m yours.”

The air was silent for a few seconds. An Jing prompted, “Why aren’t you saying anything? Give me a reaction. Don’t tell me you expect me to pursue you?”

“Okay.” Lu Yuqi looked intently at the smiling man, as if he had made up his mind, and said stubbornly yet seriously, “You said it. If I succeed, you’re mine.”

An Jing replied, “Of course. A gentleman’s word is his bond.”

Lu Yuqi was stunned for two seconds, then turned and bolted, disappearing in an instant.

He must have been embarrassed.

An Jing watched his retreating back, an enigmatic smile playing on his lips. He fell back onto the bed, covering his eyes with the back of his hand, and let out a low chuckle.

He was actually looking forward to seeing how Lu Yuqi would pursue him. How could a proud, stubborn kid like him possibly chase after someone?

An Qingyan was woken by the sound of the doorbell. He couldn’t even open his eyes, unconsciously nuzzling into the man’s embrace and mumbling drowsily, “Who is it…”

“It’s nothing, go back to sleep.” Gu Fei gently stroked his head, then got up to answer the door. Lu Yuqi, standing outside, was instantly surprised, his gaze sweeping over his cousin from head to toe.

The marks on his neck were glaring. Tsk… not holding back at all.

Gu Fei ignored his look. “What is it?”

Lu Yuqi opened his mouth, hesitated for a moment, then said, “…Never mind, I’m leaving.”

Why subject himself to their PDA so early in the morning?

As he turned to leave, Gu Fei suddenly asked, “You drank so much last night. Bad mood?”

Lu Yuqi crossed his arms and looked at him. “You too.”

By now, An Qingyan was also up. As he sat up in bed, he happened to see an expensive, well-made black tie lying on the floor, now slightly wrinkled.

His mind cleared instantly.

He remembered Gu Fei telling him last night that when you’re blindfolded and your vision is dark, your other senses are heightened. And he had given him a practical demonstration.

Recalling the feeling from last night, his cheeks couldn’t help but burn.

“You’re awake. Why not sleep a little longer?” Gu Fei walked in from outside, bent down to pick up the tie from the floor, and slowly ran his fingers over its texture.

Something about that gesture seemed off.

An Qingyan’s eyes widened. “You…”

“What?”

“Nothing… By the way, who was that just now?”

Gu Fei replied, “Lu Yuqi. He’s already gone.”

“Did he need something?”

“He didn’t say.” Gu Fei walked to the side of the bed and sat down. His gaze shifted from the young man’s fair, handsome face to his clean, well-proportioned hands. “Your nails are a bit long. Fei ge will trim them for you.”

After saying that, he found some nail clippers, took An Qingyan’s hand, and began to trim his nails.

Warm sunlight streamed through the window, filling the room with a warm and peaceful atmosphere. An Qingyan quietly watched the man’s downcast eyes and his focused profile. The man’s facial lines were sharp, his features distinct. The sunlight fell on his face, making him look clean and gentle.

This gentleness, An Qingyan thought, belongs only to me.

This man was cold and distant with others, but he was different with him.

The room was so quiet that only the sound of the nail clippers and their breathing could be heard. After trimming the nails, Gu Fei carefully filed them smooth for An Qingyan.

“Fei ge, didn’t you want to know about my past with Wen Yan? I can tell you now,” An Qingyan said suddenly.

He couldn’t clearly explain what Wen Yan had said to Gu Fei yesterday. At this point, he could only tell the truth. He was going to confess to Gu Fei sooner or later anyway; otherwise, too many things wouldn’t make sense.

He had planned to tell Gu Fei last night, but he had been tossed around so much that he was too tired to even speak and had fallen asleep directly.

“Okay.” Gu Fei put down the nail clippers, satisfied as he looked at the clean, slender hands before him, the nails trimmed into a beautiful, rounded shape. He bent his head and placed a kiss on the back of his hand. “Do they look good?”

“They do.”
