Chapter 125: Making Do with Jiang Su and the Others for the Night
Huo Qingyan’s reason was both factual and exceptionally valid.
Jiang Su, of course, heard that Huo Qingyan had deliberately raised his voice, as if he were saying it for others to hear.
This really wasn’t Huo Qingyan’s style.
Jiang Su gave Huo Qingyan a half-smiling glance and turned to walk toward the director.
Seeing that Jiang Su had left, Huo Qingyan saw no need to waste any more words with Du Tianxiao and also prepared to leave.
Du Tianxiao realized there was no room for negotiation. If he continued to pester Huo Qingyan and angered him, the loss would be far greater than the gain.
Compared to losing the role, offending Huo Qingyan was a much more serious matter.
Du Tianxiao understood this clearly, but Gao Xinlin did not.
When Du Tianxiao heard Gao Xinlin’s voice, he knew it was over.
“President Huo!”
Du Tianxiao turned, frantically signaling Gao Xinlin with his eyes not to be reckless. “What are you doing here!”
Gao Xinlin not only ignored Du Tianxiao but walked confidently toward Huo Qingyan.
Gao Xinlin blocked Huo Qingyan’s path. “President Huo, I can guarantee that if I’m in this drama, it will get at least a billion views.”
Gao Xinlin’s words drew the attention of other crew members, who gathered to watch.
Du Tianxiao’s face changed. “Gao Xinlin! Stop talking!”
Gao Xinlin paid no attention to what Du Tianxiao said, smugly waiting for Huo Qingyan to agree to let him continue as the male lead.
But Huo Qingyan just gave him an indifferent look and walked away.
Humiliated and angry, Gao Xinlin chased after him. “What’s the use of supporting Jiang Su? He’s fooling around with men and women on set, and also…”
Huo Qingyan suddenly turned back. His dark eyes were as calm as water, but his aura instantly became cold and terrifying.
Gao Xinlin was so intimidated by his presence that he fell silent.
“Pres… President Huo…” Du Tianxiao hurried over, stammering, trying to say a few words to plead for him.
But before he could speak, he saw Huo Qingyan take a step forward and kick Gao Xinlin hard, sending him flying.

The set fell silent. No one dared to speak at this moment.

The last time he had seen Huo Qingyan get physical with someone was many years ago when Huo Qingyan was studying for his doctorate abroad.
He had missed Huo Qingyan so much that he flew across the ocean alone to see him.

Jiang Su was not yet twenty at the time, but his delicate features and outstanding aura were already enough to attract attention. A few men were talking about him, making lewd remarks from time to time.
Huo Qingyan, sitting opposite him, instantly turned cold. Jiang Su didn’t want their rare time together to be ruined by others, so he pretended not to understand what they were saying.
But Huo Qingyan suddenly stood up and said, “Wait here for me.”
He then walked over to the table of men who had been talking about Jiang Su. After saying something to them, the men followed Huo Qingyan outside.
Jiang Su was worried and followed them.
He ended up seeing Huo Qingyan lead the men to a deserted corner and beat them up violently.
Huo Qingyan had always been calm and self-possessed. Unless he was truly provoked, he would never resort to physical violence.
Shen Xiumo pushed through the crowd and came to Jiang Su’s side, whispering, “Aren’t you going to try and stop him? He looks like he’s still not done…”
“Why don’t you go?”
“I’m afraid I’ll get beaten up too if I try.” Shen Xiumo’s serious tone left Jiang Su speechless.
He walked forward and stood in front of Huo Qingyan. “Isn’t it hot in the sun? Let’s find a place to rest.”
Huo Qingyan’s gaze softened. He glanced at Gao Xinlin one more time before nodding and walking to a shady spot.
Once Huo Qingyan left, the atmosphere on set eased.
Xu Mocun walked over angrily and looked at Gao Xinlin coldly. “We all know who’s really fooling around with men and women.”
“Brother Xu is right,” Tang Juanzi, who had appeared at some point, said with a half-smile as she looked at Gao Xinlin.
Gao Xinlin was already terrified after being kicked by Huo Qingyan. Seeing Tang Juanzi now made him even more flustered, and he scrambled away from the set.
This incident didn’t affect the filming schedule, but because Huo Qingyan stayed on set, the atmosphere remained a bit tense.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when it was time to wrap up for the day.
That evening, the director booked several tables at a restaurant to host a dinner for Huo Qingyan, and the entire crew went.
Xu Mocun asked Jiang Su, “Su Su, are we going?”
Jiang Su asked him, “The main investor is here. Can we not go?”
Xu Mocun fell silent.
At the dinner table, the director asked Huo Qingyan, “President Huo, would you like a drink?”
Huo Qingyan glanced at Jiang Su, who was busy eating. “No.”
The crew had been filming all day. Ending the dinner early meant they could go back and rest sooner.
Shen Xiumo cheerfully piped up, “I’ll drink!”
Huo Qingyan stared at Shen Xiumo and said without any emotion, “You don’t want to drink.”
“I…” Thinking of the hotel he wanted to acquire, Shen Xiumo reluctantly changed his tune. “I don’t want to drink.”
With no one drinking, the dinner ended quickly.
Everyone went straight back to the hotel after eating.
But when they arrived, they were stunned.
Fire trucks were parked at the hotel entrance, the ground was soaked, and the walls were blackened.
The hotel manager came over to apologize to the crew.
“We are very sorry, everyone. Due to a management oversight, there was a fire at the hotel. We have already found alternative accommodation for you all. The conditions might be a bit basic, so we apologize for the inconvenience…”
The number of crew members had been counted that morning, but Huo Qingyan and Shen Xiumo had just arrived, so there were no rooms for them at the newly arranged place.
How to assign the rooms became a problem.
The director came over. “President Huo, there’s another hotel a few kilometers from here. Shall I have someone take you there?”
Huo Qingyan looked up at the sky and said seriously, “It’s too late today. We’ll just make do for one night.”
He sounded so considerate and thoughtful.
Shen Xiumo sneered. He knew exactly what Huo Qingyan was thinking now.
Shen Xiumo walked forward and said slowly, “We’ll just make do with Jiang Su and the others for one night.”
