F4 High School Band Makeover chapter 4

 Chapter 4

The next day, Bai Sinian was in the classroom taking a chemistry class. The content was just a review for him, as he hadn’t completely forgotten the high school knowledge from a few years ago.

To avoid wasting time, he took out a set of chemistry practice papers and started working on them.

Bai Sinian was deep in thought, the pen tip dancing quickly on the exam paper, until his seatmate elbowed him, and he snapped back to reality, following the seatmate’s gaze towards the back door.

Cui Yeyi was crouching by the back door, waving at him and beckoning him over.

Seeing that the chemistry teacher had already finished the lecture and given them self-study time, Bai Sinian quietly slipped out of his seat and went to the door.

He directly pulled the nearly 180cm tall Cui Yeyi to the stairwell, “What are you doing? Don’t you have class?”

Cui Yeyi shook the two black bags in his hand, containing shoe boxes, “Going to mail the packages!”

Bai Sinian: “But we’re still in class!”

Cui Yeyi: “Don’t think I didn’t see, you weren’t listening at all. What class? Let’s go mail the packages!”

Bai Sinian was dragged downstairs by Cui Yeyi. The mail drop was at the school’s back gate, a few minutes’ walk away.

“Cui Yeyi, why are you skipping class again? Don’t you know this will become a black mark on your record?” Bai Sinian patiently explained.

“What black mark, it’s just skipping class. Besides, we’re in P.E. class now, free activity time. I ran from the dorm to the teaching building, then to the school back gate, isn’t that exercise?”

Bai Sinian was convinced by Cui Yeyi’s reasoning.

At the school mail drop, coincidentally, Bai Sinian’s homeroom teacher, Ms. Liu, was there to pick up a package.

Ms. Liu, a middle-aged female teacher wearing thick glasses, looked at Bai Sinian in surprise, “Student Sinian, what are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be in chemistry class?”

Damn, the first time skipping class with Cui Yeyi and he got caught. A flash of panic crossed Bai Sinian’s face.

Cui Yeyi calmly hooked his arm around Bai Sinian’s shoulder and explained to Ms. Liu, “Teacher, Bai Sinian is here to donate shoes to the disaster area. He’s been too busy with his studies, so he chose to do it during his best subject, chemistry class.”

After the panic, Bai Sinian’s face was now just dumbfounded. This kid, just pulling stuff out of thin air.

Ms. Liu was half convinced. Cui Yeyi opened the bag a bit, showing Ms. Liu the shoes inside, and she was fully convinced, remarking, “Good child, I’ll inform the school about this, and you’ll be evaluated as an outstanding student at the end of the semester!”

“No, no need!” Bai Sinian panicked.

Cui Yeyi suppressed a laugh, patting Bai Sinian’s shoulder, “Come on, when you do a good deed, it should be publicized so others can learn from you!”

“Shut up!” Bai Sinian hissed at him.

Ms. Liu, holding her own package, said, “Leave the shipping slip, we can use it as proof when reporting good deeds!”

“Okay, okay, teacher.”

After seeing off Ms. Liu, Bai Sinian started hitting Cui Yeyi, but Cui Yeyi just laughed gleefully. The more of a model student he was, the more fun it was to tease him. Cui Yeyi had found a new source of entertainment.

After mailing the shoes according to the buyer’s address, Bai Sinian planned to go back and continue his class.

Cui Yeyi grabbed the back of his collar, “Don’t go, what’s the rush?”

Bai Sinian, having been played around with, asked impatiently, “What else?”

“Come wait at the gate with me.”

“Wait for what?”

“You’ll see when we get there.”

The school’s back gate was right next to the mail drop. Standing at the school gate, Cui Yeyi looked around nervously, and Bai Sinian watched him coldly, not knowing what he was up to, just hoping not to get caught by another teacher.

Soon, a black Rolls-Royce stopped at the gate, and Cui Yeyi ran to the security guard’s booth, “Uncle, open the door, it’s my family!”

The security guard glanced at the car at the gate, unmoved.

Until an elderly man in a black-framed glasses, dressed in a well-tailored suit, walked up to the security guard’s booth and politely said, “Hello, I’m the butler for Cui Yeyi’s family, bringing him some clothes.”

The security guard then opened the door, and Cui Yeyi rushed up to hug the butler, “Uncle Li!”

“Alright, alright, you’re already so big, let’s see what I’ve brought you!” Uncle Li had a doting expression.

“Come on, Bai Sinian, help me carry the clothes,” Cui Yeyi casually ordered without introducing him.

Uncle Li nodded apologetically to Bai Sinian, “My young master is still immature, please be patient with him.”

Bai Sinian gave a stiff smile and nodded, “Mm.”

The two carried two large bags of clothes and a suitcase from the car’s trunk. Bai Sinian was a bit puzzled, Cui Yeyi had only sold a few clothes, why was he so lacking in clothes already?

The security guard checked the boxes at the gate, to prevent students from bringing in prohibited items.

Cui Yeyi begged Uncle Li for some pocket money, but was ultimately refused with a smile.

Bai Sinian followed Cui Yeyi, carrying the large and small packages to the dorm. “Are you that short of clothes? Our school only allows us to wear our own clothes on Wednesdays, and you can go home on weekends, why bring so many clothes?”

“Of course to sell!” Cui Yeyi seemed to have discovered the path to wealth. “I never realized my clothes and shoes were actually so expensive, all of these were bought by my mom.”

“Now they’ve cancelled my card, so I’m selling a few clothes to supplement the family expenses, isn’t that normal?”

Bai Sinian: …

Dragging a large bag of clothes, Bai Sinian suddenly felt they were heavier than gold and silver jewelry. He earnestly advised Cui Yeyi, “If you can sell them for money, why don’t you sign up for a drum class? Learn some solid theoretical foundations?”

They had already reached the dorm building, and Bai Sinian, panting, directly hoisted the bag onto his shoulder, ready to climb the stairs.

Cui Yeyi went upstairs in the opposite direction, dragging the suitcase and the heavy bags like hauling a corpse.

“What? Are you and Bian Rui also disdaining my skills? Drumming doesn’t need any special skills, just follow the feeling and bang randomly.”

Bai Sinian was frustrated, it was precisely because of this wrong mindset that he hadn’t made any progress in all these years.

Bai Sinian: “Forget it, for now, let’s figure out how to get everyone into the same city for college. When you go to college, you must go learn theoretical knowledge. Drum classes do have fast-track programs, you’ll pick it up quickly, but if you want to go further in music, you have to study deeply.”

“Okay, okay, so nagging. Are you even a man!”

Seeing Bai Sinian about to get angry and throw the bag off his shoulder, Cui Yeyi quickly amended, “I mean, I’m a man, a man who even a male model will cry for!”

Bai Sinian laughed angrily.

After moving all the clothes to Cui Yeyi’s dorm, Bai Sinian hurried back for the next class.

Noon break was very tight, and Bai Sinian couldn’t sleep today either. He went to the school property management office to get two sensor lights, then ran to the old building to install them, and then started cleaning the stairwell.

Bai Sinian was a reliable high school student, and in one afternoon, he had the stairwell spotless, even cleaning up the rooftop storage room, only running out of time to clean that.

[Little North°: What’s Sinian ge been up to? I didn’t see you at lunch today.]

[Tears Ripped Open My Aorta: Probably sleeping, after all, he helped me with some stuff this morning, he’s so delicate, he must be exhausted.]

[I Only Reply to Read Messages: What did you two do?]

[Tears Ripped Open My Aorta: Come to my dorm, I’ll tell you.]

About 10 minutes later.

[I Only Reply to Read Messages: Damn, this Yeyi kid is about to make a fortune!]

[Little North°: What happened?]

[I Only Reply to Read Messages: Just did the math, if he can sell all the clothes and shoes at 50% off, he can make at least 30,000!]

[Little North°: Wow~~~.jpg]

[Tears Ripped Open My Aorta: Keep it low-key, when the money comes in, let’s all go to Haidilao* first, and then I’ll find you guys some girlfriends, no, make that two! I have the money and time anyway! Hehe…]

[I Only Reply to Read Messages: Yeyi ge, you’re my brother, my only brother!]

When Bai Sinian saw the messages in the group, he was about to go crazy!

This kid was selling all his clothes to make money, only thinking about how to spend it on eating, drinking and playing, and even wanting to have two girlfriends. He’s already thinking about having two girlfriends in his sophomore year!

He really wanted to bash his head in!

Among them, Bian Rui had never spoken, and the topic had now ended, so Bai Sinian didn’t know what else to say.

In the blink of an eye, it was the weekend. Bai Sinian had arranged everyone’s tasks the night before.

He and Shen Bei were to set up the new venue, while the other three went to the music store to buy instruments.

After much consideration, he decided it was better to split up. Those three together would definitely argue over disagreements and end up not buying anything.

Plus, with Bian Rui’s straightforward personality, he might just blurt out the truth in front of the merchants.

In the end, he decided to let Bian Rui and Fan Hongyi set up the venue, while he, the rich guy Cui Yeyi, and the obedient Shen Bei would go check out the music equipment.

This street was dedicated to selling musical instruments, from guitars, pianos, and violins, if you wanted it, you could find it here.

And some merchants even provided training classes, signing up would get you a free instrument, it seemed very attractive.

Next to it was a large shopping mall. The three got off the taxi and Cui Yeyi headed straight for the mall.

Bai Sinian called out to him, “Wrong way, it’s this way.”

Cui Yeyi pulled down his black baseball cap, mysteriously saying, “Let’s have lunch first, I’ll take you guys to an amazing Thai restaurant.”

Shen Bei, wearing a yellow duck T-shirt, immediately echoed, “Okay, okay!”

Bai Sinian could only follow them to have lunch first.

After getting to know Cui Yeyi better, he realized this kid didn’t have instrument buying on his mind at all.

First, they waited in line for half an hour to eat at the Thai restaurant, then Cui Yeyi took them to buy trendy bubble tea, and finally Bai Sinian dragged them out of the Wanda Cinema ticket line.

Bai Sinian finally snapped, “Cui Yeyi! Don’t think just because you have a messed up brain, you can do whatever you want! Now! Immediately! Go do the proper thing!”

Cui Yeyi was stunned, feeling that something was off, but couldn’t quite put his finger on it.
