Chapter 56 part 1
Bai He stared at the message, his finger hovering over the voice message button. His voice wasn’t loud, but it was clear enough.
“Yes, Qin Yao is my boyfriend.”
He sent the voice message to Zhang Yao. The other side showed “typing…” for a long time, but no message came through.
Bai He’s reply carried a hint of petty revenge. Qin Yao’s fingers stopped typing on the keyboard, his face beaming with delight, clearly puffed up with pride.
“It feels really different to have an official title,” Qin Yao chuckled, practically preening like a peacock, muttering to the screen, “Oh right, you guys might not understand. It’s okay, since I have a boyfriend anyway, I can reluctantly share my feelings with you…”
[Grass (a type of plant)!!]
[He’s asking for it!!]
[Who asked you?!!]
[Little Bai, are you going to let him get away with this? Mama has watched you grow up! Are you on Mama’s side or his side!!]
Bai He: “…”
Confirming that Zhang Yao wouldn’t send any more messages, Bai He put down his phone. Seeing that the livestream was nearing its end, he waited for Qin Yao to finish.
After the incident last time, Bai He always double-checked if the livestream was truly off. Watching Qin Yao click the “end stream” button, he finally spoke about what just happened.
“That message just now was from Zhang Yao.”
Qin Yao raised an eyebrow. “So, what does our Little Bai He plan to do?”
“CORONET bought out the copyright for Tiandi. Sending the script content to another company privately… I don’t know if that counts as infringement,” Bai He said, his eyes calm as still water. “I’m very angry that our hard work is being used by Zhang Yao for improper purposes. This matter should be reported to CORONET first.”
Qin Yao nodded in agreement. “What do you want to do?”
“First, I need to contact the club president. Only the president can liaise with the person in charge at CORONET. But I don’t have the president’s contact information. Every time, it was the group leader, Zhang Yao, who handed over the work to the president. Besides, the president is elusive. I’ve only met him a few times, just to say hello, never really got to know him.”
Without contact information, and with the holidays making it inconvenient to find people, Bai He fell into deep thought.
He picked up his phone and created a group chat with the other two members of his group, asking if they had time to meet tomorrow.
The other two members were quite free recently, so they agreed to meet tomorrow afternoon.
At this moment, Qin Yao climbed onto the bed, wrapping his arms around Bai He’s waist. Bai He instinctively trembled, sensing trouble. He tried to push Qin Yao away, but his hands were pinned, and he was drawn into a lingering, gentle kiss.
They kissed for a long time. When released, Bai He’s face was flushed. Feeling Qin Yao’s restless hands wandering lower, he gritted his teeth and held him down.
“No, I have things to do tomorrow!”
Qin Yao pressed down on Bai He, whining coquettishly, “Baby, there are still two left from yesterday.”
Bai He understood immediately what “two” referred to. He leaned back, gritting his teeth. “Still no. I have a gym appointment in the morning, and I have to deal with Zhang Yao in the afternoon. Tonight, we can’t…”
“You can treat this as a workout too,” Qin Yao said, grabbing Bai He’s hand and kissing the back of it repeatedly. “Making love requires strength, for both you and me. Isn’t that right, baby?”
Bai He was speechless, turning his head away. “That’s twisted logic.”
“Just once,” Qin Yao said, seeing Bai He’s resolve weakening. He slowly pecked at Bai He’s eyebrows and eyes, releasing his ears and tail. He reached out, grabbed the bell from the foot of the bed, tied it around his own neck, and kissed Bai He’s lips reverently. “Just once, I promise, okay?”
In the end, the remaining two were used, and there was even one time without protection.
Originally, they agreed on just one round. Because he had suffered last night, Bai He wanted to make Qin Yao suffer a bit, so he demanded to switch positions. To prevent Qin Yao from going back on his word, Bai He found something to restrain Qin Yao’s hands and feet. Before starting, he also blindfolded Qin Yao with a dark tie.
When vision is blocked, other senses are amplified. Bai He understood this principle.
He had intended to let Qin Yao taste some bitterness, but things didn’t go as planned. Bai He’s body wasn’t strong to begin with, and his recent gym workouts only added a little strength, not much, and certainly not enough. So, in the end, he still got tired first.
Although he did see Qin Yao helpless, Bai He felt he still got the short end of the stick.
It seemed like he rewarded Qin Yao again.
Qin Yao was right; this was physical labor, very exhausting.
Bai He discovered something quite interesting: Qin Yao’s fluffy tail liked to shake like crazy during the process.
As if confirming a beastman in heat.
After that, there was no “after that.” Qin Yao took the upper hand later, and Bai He just lay flat.
His mind was a bit hazy, and separation made him subconsciously feel uneasy.
So Qin Yao could only softly comfort Bai He, calling his name, telling him to be good.
Bai He was incredibly embarrassed.
He would never agree to Qin Yao’s requests again, even if it killed him.
The gym session the next morning had to be temporarily canceled. Bai He rested in his room for another half day. After lunch, his spirits improved significantly. Qin Yao went to FREE, driving Bai He to the coffee shop outside the school on the way.
Bai He’s copywriting group had four members in total. He was responsible for the overall framework, while Mu Lin and Shen Hao were responsible for the details of the segmented stories.
Arriving at the coffee shop, Bai He said goodbye to Qin Yao, went in, ordered three coffees, and found a seat by the window.
A moment later, the other two arrived.
Mu Lin was an omega girl, a junior like Bai He, who had been in the club for two years.
Shen Hao was a newly recruited alpha boy, just a freshman, considered a junior in the club.
They arrived one after another. Shen Hao placed the desserts he was carrying on the table and sat opposite the two omegas. “I bought these from the dessert shop outside the school. I heard Senior Sister Mu say they were delicious last time. I don’t know how to pick flavors, so I bought a bit of everything.”
“Xiao Shen, you’re so nice!” Mu Lin’s eyes lit up. “I’ve been craving this for so long. The school is on break, and I thought that shop was closed.”
Shen Hao scratched his head embarrassedly, unwrapped the packages, and handed the small cakes to Mu Lin and Bai He respectively, then asked, “Does Senior Brother Bai have something to discuss with us today?”
“Is the copy changing again?” Mu Lin also asked.
Bai He took the small cake and shook his head. “I have something to tell you. It’s not convenient to talk about it on the phone.”
His expression was actually very calm, but the atmosphere inexplicably solidified, and Mu Lin and Shen Hao unconsciously became serious.
When told about Zhang Yao, the scene turned icy cold.
“That’s too much!” Shen Hao slammed his fist on the sofa, making a muffled thud. “This counts as infringement, right? We can sue him!”
“CORONET definitely won’t ignore this, after all, this matter involves some interests.” Mu Lin paused. “We have to tell the president first and let him report it to the higher-ups.”
Bai He nodded. “But it’s the holidays now, and I can’t contact the president.”
Bai He actually thought about asking Xia Tian for help, but Xia Tian was a member of the art department branch, and the branch leader wasn’t Xia Tian. He heard that the president’s whereabouts were a mystery, and he couldn’t trouble Xia Tian every time.
The copywriting group had an issue, and they had to solve it within their group.
“I almost forgot, you guys are new here. The president is very hard to contact.” Mu Lin frowned. “I do have the president’s number, but whether it gets through is another matter.”
Saying that, she found the dusty number at the bottom of her contacts list and dialed it. As expected, no one answered.
The president was a senior about to graduate, running around domestically and internationally. Tasks were distributed to various group leaders, and he rarely appeared at the club.
“Why don’t we just call CORONET‘s official number?” Shen Hao suggested.
“I called the official number.” Bai He shook his head. “It’s all machine customer service answering, saying they will report it upwards. It doesn’t sound very reliable.”
“Tch!” Shen Hao looked annoyed. “Then what do we do? Are we just going to let him use the fruits of our labor?”
After dialing three times without success, Mu Lin had to give up temporarily. Her shoulders slumped. “Ah, so annoying! Who does he think he is?! He clearly didn’t do anything!!”
Bai He’s hand gripping the cup tightened. “We can try contacting a rights protection organization.”
“We have evidence. The revised versions of the copy are with us; he was just the handler.” Bai He said, “He sent the file to someone inside FREE… that is, my friend. He has the email drafts there. These are all evidence.”
“This can remind the company to protect rights. Whether big or small, it’s protecting our interests. That content came from us; he might want to claim it as his own.” Bai He enunciated each word clearly. “He can’t take our content away, and he shouldn’t be able to.”
“But Bai He…” Mu Lin suddenly lowered her voice, worriedly saying, “What if he deletes the email account that sent the email? Says he revised those things alone? What if he turns around and accuses us of stealing his stuff? What then?”
This possibility wasn’t non-existent; in fact, it was extremely high. Bai He hadn’t failed to consider it. It was a bit tricky.
But there was a way to break the deadlock.
“I have a livestream account.” Bai He looked at them calmly. “The number of fans isn’t huge, but it’s enough.”
