Chapter 65 part 1
Bai He knew Qin Yao loved to play. Whether it was a reward or punishment, in Qin Yao’s eyes, it would turn into a reward. This made Bai He somewhat unhappy, so he hadn’t been indulging Qin Yao’s requests lately.
The main reason was that after the lock was unlocked that night, Bai He was tossed and turned by Qin Yao, not getting a peaceful sleep all night.
He couldn’t out-stubborn Qin Yao, nor could he push him away.
He slept and woke up in a daze, woke up and slept again, repeating this cycle, losing track of time.
With Qin Yao’s illness almost recovered, Bai He thought he should also go to the hospital for a follow-up check on his late differentiation physical condition, so he made an appointment with Dr. Li.
The day he went to the hospital happened to be the day before school started. The class schedule for the second semester of junior year had already been posted in the group chat by the study commissary. Bai He only glanced at it; there weren’t many courses, mainly requiring an internship.
The internship at the alpha university last semester wasn’t completed, and due to transferring schools and majors, he needed to retake the internship. After the alpha and omega universities merged, his original credits had to be recalculated, and the same applied to the internship.
Speaking of internships, this time was different from before. Bai He could follow the college’s arrangement and be assigned to a company, but the college recommended finding an internship place on their own.
Bai He actually had an intention regarding the internship early on. He sent his resume package to a literary publishing house. While waiting for a reply, he prepared to go to the hospital to find Dr. Li.
Arriving at the hospital, Bai He familiarly went to the beastman department. Work started at 2 pm. Bai He arrived at Dr. Li’s office at 2:30 pm but didn’t see anyone. A nurse who came in noticed Bai He: “You’re here. Dr. Li just had a minor surgery as soon as he arrived. He’ll be back in a while. He asked me to take you for the check-up first when you arrive.”
Bai He nodded politely: “Sorry to trouble you.”
The nurses under Dr. Li all knew Bai He. Bai He followed behind into the examination room. There were quite a few examination items: gland check, pheromone test, blood test.
Holding various test reports, he followed the nurse closely. The nurse in front went around several corridors and finally stopped in front of a door. She turned to Bai He and said: “This is the last item. We didn’t do this the previous times. Dr. Li specifically reminded me to bring you here today.”
Bai He looked up, his gaze falling on the words on the examination room doorplate — Omega Ultrasound Examination Room A.
Bai He’s pupils shrank suddenly: “…What is this?”
“Coming here to check the development of your reproductive cavity.” The nurse smiled and pushed open the examination room door: “Go ahead, there’s already a doctor waiting inside. Just bring the film out directly later. I’ll wait for you in Room B next door.”
Bai He, with a blank expression, was pushed in. The doctor inside called him: “Bai He, right? Come, lie down and lift your clothes.”
Although there was no one else present at the moment, Bai He still felt like he had thorns in his back.
He placed the other test reports on the stool beside him, obediently lying on the examination bed as instructed. The doctor sitting beside him didn’t look at him at all, eyes fixed on the instrument, voice revealing fatigue from work.
“Lift your clothes higher, pull your pants down a bit.” The doctor’s voice had a very calm lifelessness: “Did you hold your urine?”
Bai He, who was pulling his clothes and pants, made a confused sound, then nodded: “…Mm.”
So the nurse asking him not to use the restroom earlier was preparing for this examination.
Bai He lay on the bed, head turned sideways, hands pulling his clothes and pants, staring blankly at the incomprehensible instruments, trying to cover up some unwarranted unnaturalness with his curious state.
The examining doctor was an omega boy, looking young but with a face full of work-worn exhaustion. He wiped the probe with paper, glanced at Bai He’s abdomen, pressed the probe lightly on Bai He’s lower abdomen, and then stared at the screen without looking away.
The moment the probe was placed, the coldness made Bai He shiver. Then the probe moved slowly around his lower abdomen. The doctor’s hand strength varied from light to slightly heavy. The room was very quiet during this process. Bai He was actually glad the doctor didn’t talk to him. However, just as it finished and the probe was removed, the doctor suddenly asked: “Late development? Why is the reproductive cavity smaller than usual?”
Bai He took the paper handed over by the other party. Hearing this, he was stunned: “I differentiated late.”
“No wonder.” The doctor didn’t have much reaction: “Go next door to get the film.”
“Okay.” Bai He stood up. While tidying his clothes, he looked at the doctor: “Excuse me, does a small reproductive cavity have any impact on the body?”
The indifferent-looking doctor lifted his eyelids: “Conception will be relatively difficult, unless your partner is particularly formidable. But your reproductive cavity probably hasn’t fully developed yet. For other things, ask your attending physician; he’ll tell you.”
“Thank you, I understand.” Bai He picked up the examination reports on the stool and went next door to get the film. After finishing all items, he returned to Dr. Li’s office. He knocked on the door, was told to enter, pushed the door open and saw three people in the office.
Dr. Li sat behind the desk. Dr. Chen stood beside him looking at the computer together. Judging from his expression, Dr. Chen clearly wasn’t here for work, probably just purely pestering Dr. Li.
As for the other person…
Bai He found Qin Yao sitting on the sofa walking towards him.
“Xiao Bao?” Qin Yao was genuinely surprised: “Why did you come to the hospital? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?”
Bai He shook his head, refusing Qin Yao’s help to hold the examination reports: “Nothing, just a regular check-up.”
Qin Yao had been busy recently. A regular check-up wasn’t a big or troublesome matter, so Bai He didn’t tell him.
At this time, Dr. Li, tired of hearing Chen Wensheng’s chatter, stood up and waved to Bai He: “Finished checking?”
“Mm.” Bai He nodded, went over and handed all the report sheets to Dr. Li. Qin Yao followed behind him, and Chen Wensheng also leaned over. The three of them surrounded Li Min who was looking at the reports.
Bai He: “……”
Finally, when Dr. Li finished reading, Bai He met his gaze, his heart skipping a beat.
“No other problems, the reproductive cavity hasn’t developed completely.” Li Min handed the report back to Bai He: “You differentiated late, so slow reproductive cavity development is normal. Come back for another check in a month.”
Bai He nodded: “Understood.”
“Before that, your reproductive cavity is not suitable for conception.” When Li Min said this, he frankly glanced at Qin Yao behind, who looked shocked: “It’s also not recommended to perform permanent marking. If there are plans for pregnancy, push it back.”
“No plans!” Bai He said abruptly, startling even himself after speaking.
“…” Li Min was silent for a moment, crossing his arms: “Nothing else. Gland development is good. I paid attention to your physical condition; it’s much better than before. Are you exercising?”
Bai He nodded: “Been to the gym.”
“Mm, keep it up like this, it will get better and better.” Li Min said: “You and Qin Yao have high compatibility. You can appropriately use pheromones to soothe each other; there are many good effects.”
“Brother Li,” Qin Yao touched his nose: “We know all this, just don’t expose me…”
Li Min looked at Qin Yao, no longer hinting but explicitly stating: “Marking too many times. Do you know what restraint means?”
Qin Yao wasn’t embarrassed either, embracing Bai He and saying generously: “Understood, won’t dare next time.”
Bai He felt his face heat up.
Coming out of the hospital, Bai He got into Qin Yao’s car. Qin Yao mentioned coming to the hospital for a follow-up check to Bai He: “Today should be the last time. Chen Wensheng said I’ve recovered pretty much.”
He looked at Bai He: “Xiao Bao, do you know? You cured my illness.”
Bai He was looking out the window. Hearing this, he turned his head: “I only provided pheromones.”
“But without your pheromones, I wouldn’t get better.” Qin Yao continued to look seriously ahead: “Xiao Bao, you are my medicine.”
Bai He pursed his lips, gaze moving slowly: “Qin Yao, do you like children?”
The alpha in the driver’s seat suddenly fell silent. Bai He waited for two seconds, took a deep breath: “I’m just asking, no wild thoughts allowed.”
“Ah? Oh…” Qin Yao coughed twice lightly, smiling: “I like Xiao Bao you.”
Qin Yao’s answer caught Bai He a bit off guard. He didn’t speak, looking at the receding trees outside the window, feeling somewhat complicated.
“If it were before, I wouldn’t know how to tell you.” Bai He suddenly spoke: “Now you know I come from another world. In my cognition, males cannot get pregnant, so I might mind a bit.”
Moreover, Bai He felt he didn’t have the ability to raise a child well. If he had a child, he would definitely do his best, but his own experiences made him feel he couldn’t meet the requirements of being a father.
All things considered, Bai He felt having a child wasn’t suitable, at least not now.
“Xiao Bao.” Qin Yao called Bai He, voice very soft.
Bai He turned back. At this time, the car happened to find a parking spot and stopped. Qin Yao released the steering wheel, reaching out towards Bai He’s face.
Immediately after, gentle-toned pheromones slowly embraced Bai He, like small tentacles, scratching Bai He one by one.
Distance closing, Bai He’s lips were touched lightly like a dragonfly skimming water. Qin Yao rubbed his waist: “Compared to children, I prefer you, Xiao Bao. That’s what I meant just now. Don’t be unhappy because of this matter. I love you, love everything about you. With or without children is the same. And…”
Saying that, he lightly kissed the tip of Bai He’s nose, curling his lips: “We haven’t even gotten married yet, and you’re discussing children with me. Xiao Bao, are you a bit impatient?”
Serious for no more than three seconds. Bai He turned his head away with a humph: “We’re here, get off.”
“Okay.” Qin Yao took the opportunity to kiss Bai He’s cheek again.
The two got off together, walking from the parking spot to the FREE main entrance. Bai He didn’t go to the office with Qin Yao; he went to find Yi Chen and Zhao Linyue.
Yi Chen and Zhao Linyue had been at FREE for a while. This was the only government affairs department in the company. The previous person in charge transferred to another branch to lead people, leaving this place entirely to Yi Chen and Zhao Linyue.
Bai He pushed open the door of the government affairs office. Zhao Linyue was running a game with headphones on. Yi Chen was making coffee and turned around just then. Seeing Bai He, his eyes lit up: “Little Bai He!”
“Yi Chen-ge,” Bai He stepped forward to greet him, holding the fruit he just bought downstairs. Seeing Zhao Linyue take off his headphones, he called out: “Zhao-ge.”
“Oh ho, you’re here.” Zhao Linyue grabbed a chocolate from the table and threw it to Bai He: “Just in time, this is tasty, try it.”
Bai He caught the thrown chocolate: “Thanks.”
“Come, come, I finally waited for you.” Yi Chen hurried to pull Bai He over, pressing him onto the swivel chair: “I have important matters to tell you.”
Yi Chen’s expression was serious. Bai He subconsciously sat up straight.
“Are you about to start your internship?” Yi Chen blinked at Bai He: “I heard your previous internship probably doesn’t count. Have you found an internship for the first half of this year?”
Bai He’s eyelashes fluttered a few times: “…How do you know?”
