Chapter 6: The Swaying Silver Chain
“He actually kissed me! He kissed me! He kissed me!”
Liang Yuhang’s lips were so soft, and so hot.
Lack of oxygen. Dizziness. He was going to faint.
“So excited?” Liang Yuhang laughed. “You like being kissed?”
“Mmh-hmm-hmm-hmm!” Mu Feng was so excited he wanted to do a standing backflip. If he had known being a cat came with such perks, why had he bothered with a secret crush for the past few years? He would have just jumped him directly.
Oh, wait. He hadn’t picked Mumu up back then.
Liang Yuhang truly had bottomless tolerance for cats.
Mu Feng thought, At least in the lab, Liang Yuhang only coldly says, “Don’t touch me.”
But now, he was being held securely in his arms, placed on Liang Yuhang’s thick, muscular thighs, while the man used a wet towel to wipe his burning ears and paws.
“Kiss me again.” Mu Feng lifted his head, only to be held down by Liang Yuhang.
His strength was truly great; even when he was trying his best to be gentle, his grip was like a vice.
Mu Feng endured it, his entire back still trembling slightly. Damn legs, stop shaking.
Beneath his paws were the man’s solid muscles, and the tip of his nose caught the faint scent of body wash. Mu Feng felt like a pervert, but he couldn’t control the urge to lean in closer to him.
“Why are you acting like you caught it from Mu Feng?” Liang Yuhang’s fingers combed through his soft fur as he spoke carelessly. “He has a fever, do you have one too?”
Hearing his own name so suddenly, Mu Feng shuddered all over again.
Is he so smart that he figured it out on day two? How am I supposed to be a pervert in the future?
“Why are you shaking?” Liang Yuhang’s voice turned cold.
Mu Feng met his scrutinizing gaze, blinked slowly, and didn’t know what to say, so he just rubbed against him to cover it up.
Acting cute is never wrong.
Liang Yuhang’s fingertips rubbed the tips of his soft ears as he teased, “Doesn’t look like a fever to me. Looks like you’re in heat.”
Mu Feng thought this man’s way of speaking was just too erotic.
How could casual chatter with a cat sound like dirty talk coming from him?
But with his next sentence, Liang Yuhang yanked him back to reality in a second. “How about we take you to the hospital for neutering?”
It didn’t sound like a discussion; it sounded like a notification.
Mu Feng: ??????
Neut-what? Say that again.
He was using his spiritual power to overlay and control Mumu, but he wasn’t sure—if the cat got neutered, would his own… still be there?
He dared not test that.
Mu Feng struggled, wanting to slip out of his arms. Before he could hit the floor, a hand grabbed him and hauled him back. Liang Yuhang laughed, “What? Want to go harass the little female cats outside? Don’t even think about it.”
Mu Feng: “………..”
I don’t have time to harass other cats. There’s reproductive isolation, okay?
Liang Yuhang finished wiping his paws and ears, placed him casually on his lap, and looked up pet sterilization information. “It’s good for your health.”
Mu Feng’s mind was screaming: No, I have to go back. I can’t suffer this kind of torture.
But… he had only researched how to come here, not how to go back.
Last time, he went back after falling asleep. So, sleep?
Thinking of this, Mu Feng jumped down from his lap, bolted under the duvet, tilted his head, and feigned sleep.
Hearing the commotion, Liang Yuhang turned around, stared at the kitten sprawled out with limbs splayed, and raised an eyebrow. “Is this cat getting a little too human-like recently?”
Mu Feng said in his heart: You’re about to take me to get neutered. If I didn’t run, I’d really be a moron.
Liang Yuhang patted the back of his head. “Fine, we’ll do it tomorrow. Sleep.”
Mu Feng: “………..”
Do my ass. Not tomorrow either!
Mu Feng slept very fitfully. In his dream, he was forcibly pinned down in the hospital by Liang Yuhang, while the doctor sharpened an eighty-meter-long knife, scaring him awake directly.
His usual wet dreams had turned into nightmares.
When he opened his eyes again, sure enough, he was back in the laboratory. He lowered his head to check. Good, it was still there.
“Scared me to death.” Mu Feng let out a sharp breath. “Lust really is a blade hanging over one’s head.”
He turned his head and saw Jiang Yuan staring at him without blinking. “Why are you sleeping in the lab again? What kind of passionate dream did you have? You’re sweating all over.”
Mu Feng was speechless. “I dreamt I was neutered.”
Jiang Yuan leaned against the wall, laughing uncontrollably. “Let me analyze this for you. Usually, this kind of dream comes from sexual frustration. How about this: tonight, I’ll take you out to meet a couple of ‘brothers.’ Fall in love, and you’ll be fine.”
“Not going.” Mu Feng lifted his eyelids. “Aren’t you afraid your brother will break your legs?”
“He won’t, he can’t bear to.” Jiang Yuan was spoiled and arrogant. “Besides, he’s discussing a partnership with the Liang family tonight. He doesn’t have time.”
“Liang family? Liang Yuhang?” Hearing the keywords, Mu Feng snapped to attention. “What time?”
Jiang Yuan knew Lu Zhuo’s schedule like the back of his hand and said lazily, “Eight o’clock.”
Injecting the serum two days in a row was too much; he needed a break. Even a body of steel couldn’t handle it. He couldn’t turn into a cat tonight, but he still wanted to create an opportunity to see Liang Yuhang.
He stared at Jiang Yuan thoughtfully and said slowly, “Then let’s go out to play at eight.”
“Didn’t you just say you weren’t going?” Jiang Yuan was confused.
“I just really want to see what it looks like when your brother catches you.” Mu Feng knew all about Lu Zhuo’s controlling nature over this brother who shared no blood ties with him.
Lu Zhuo was the orphan of a soldier and neighbors with the Jiang family. They grew up together, and Lu Zhuo had managed him since childhood. If he knew Jiang Yuan was out, he would definitely change the location of his meeting with Liang Yuhang just to catch him.
Jiang Yuan felt creeped out by his stare. “What kind of crooked scheme are you cooking up?”
Mu Feng smiled heartlessly. “My brain doesn’t work well, who could I possibly scheme against?”
“True.” Jiang Yuan had known him for years and had never seen anyone simpler. He nodded. “Then let’s go to class first. See you tonight.”
Mu Feng knew Liang Yuhang’s class schedule by heart, but aside from their agreed mentorship, he couldn’t appear around him too frequently. That man was too smart; he would get suspicious.
He had made that mistake before, so every meeting from now on had to be a flawless “accidental encounter.”
After class, Mu Feng went home and changed into a semi-transparent white shirt. After a thought, he put a black choker around his neck, from which hung a swaying silver chain with gleaming metal rivets.
It looked as if no matter who tugged on that chain, he would follow them.
[M]: I’m at the entrance of Lan Guan.
Mu Feng deliberately sent the wrong message to Lu Zhuo. After ensuring the other party saw it, he calculated the time and retracted it.
[Lu Zhuo]: ?
[Lu Zhuo]: Jiang Yuan took you out to party again?
[M]: No, how could that be? Brother Lu Zhuo, you saw wrong.
Mu Feng tapped the keyboard lightly, the corner of his lips hooking up very slightly. Within half an hour, Lu Zhuo would definitely come charging over with Liang Yuhang.
“Holy crap, looking handsome, my Mu Bao.” Jiang Yuan pulled up in front of him and tossed the keys dashingly to the valet.
Mu Feng felt a little pity for the Jiang Yuan of thirty minutes from now and offered a thoughtful reminder: “Are you sure you want to go in? I estimate Brother Lu Zhuo is already on his way.”
He had a conscience, but not much.
“Doesn’t matter, let’s play first.” Jiang Yuan didn’t care in the slightest, hooking his arm around Mu Feng’s shoulder as they walked in.
Lan Guan was a membership club. It looked low-key on the outside, but inside, it was a world of debauchery. A group of men and women were waiting in a booth. Jiang Yuan was used to partying; the moment he entered, he started livening up the atmosphere, making the girls laugh.
Mu Feng was quite good at playing the playboy role. He didn’t spoil the fun, occasionally standing up to clink glasses with someone. “I’ll drink, you do as you please.”
But he was distracted, watching the stopwatch on his wrist.
8:07 PM. He turned his head toward the door and caught sight of two tall figures.
In almost a second, he was certain: the fish had taken the bait.
Mu Feng slowly drained his glass and reminded him, “Jiang Yuan, watch your behavior.”
“Hm? Watch what?” Jiang Yuan laughed, lifting his head from a handsome guy’s embrace. His expression froze for a second, and he gulped slightly. “Brother? Aren’t you discussing business?”
Lu Zhuo gave a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “Changed the venue. Coming out to play again? Did you report this to Uncle Jiang?”
Mu Feng smiled, watching the show. His peripheral vision landed on Liang Yuhang, who was concealed in the dim light, and he raised an eyebrow slightly.
He didn’t greet him intentionally. Instead, he poured himself half a glass of wine and specifically reached across half the table to call out to the pink-haired girl opposite him. “Didn’t get to drink with you just now. Cheers.”
Because he stretched out his arm, the hem of his shirt lifted, revealing a slice of his waist.
The waistband of his trousers was very low, exposing enticing back dimples—shallow, as if inviting someone to press their thumbs into them.
“See? You’ve led Mu Feng astray too,” Lu Zhuo scolded Jiang Yuan in a low voice. “He was such a good kid, look at him now.”
Good?
Liang Yuhang narrowed his eyes very slightly. His gaze moved slowly upward from the waist, landing on the silver chain swaying at his neck.
The other end was empty, waiting for someone to pull it.
Like a little slutty cat in heat, looking everywhere for its master.
