After Giving Up, My Rich Ex-Husband Begged Me to Return Extra 1

Chapter 158: Extra 1

At the film set…

“That’s a wrap!”

Hearing that filming was done for the day, Xu Mocun immediately brought a down jacket for Jiang Su to wear.

“It’s too cold, put this on quickly.”

The movie Jiang Su was currently filming was called Zhang Jian (Wielding the Sword). It told the story of a street urchin who became a great hero serving the country and its people, eventually sacrificing himself for his beliefs.

Although it was deep winter, they were filming summer scenes.

Jiang Su didn’t rush to put on the down jacket. Instead, he held out his hand to Xu Mocun: “Phone.”

With an “I knew it” expression, Xu Mocun stuffed the phone into Jiang Su’s hand and then helped him into the jacket.

Jiang Su had a lot of scenes these past few days, waking up at five or six in the morning to get to the set, and only being able to check his phone after wrapping up at night.

The WeChat icon showed a red badge indicating the number of unread messages.

Opening it, he saw they were all from Huo Qingyan:

[I toasted bread for breakfast, but it’s a bit burnt. (Image)]

The timestamp showed 8:30 AM. He had even sent a photo; the center of the toast was indeed a little burnt.

[During the meeting just now, that old guy named Qin made sarcastic remarks again, saying my direction is wrong.]

This message was sent at 10:30 AM.

Jiang Su read this sentence over and over again. The more he looked at it, the more it seemed like a primary school student complaining to a parent.

Jiang Su knew about the guy named Qin. Relying on his seniority from having worked with Huo Qingyan’s grandfather, he liked to throw his weight around and stick his nose into everything. Huo Qingyan only tolerated him out of respect for his grandfather.

If it were the old Huo Qingyan, he would probably have directly had someone “invite” Qin to go home and retire.

Huo Qingyan, with a mental age of twenty, had a much better temper.

This one was sent at 12:30 PM, right at mealtime, accompanied by a photo of lunch.

Ever since Zhou Fu returned to work at the Huo Group, Jiang Licuan had been acting strangely.

He ran to the Huo Group every few days.

He was even crazy enough to say in front of Huo Qingyan that he would open a company for Zhou Fu to work at.

Of course, Huo Qingyan didn’t take this to heart.

Jiang Su had long felt that Jiang Licuan was acting odd, and now even Huo Qingyan had picked up on something.

The last message was from four hours ago:

[Want to eat hot pot.]

Jiang Su lowered his eyes, his slender fingers typing a reply on the screen: “I want to eat hot pot too.”

The last time he had hot pot was before he joined the cast.

He had eaten it with Huo Qingyan.

Huo Qingyan didn’t actually like hot pot before.

Besides not liking hot pot, he also wouldn’t have sent rambling daily trivialities to him on WeChat like this in the past.

In front of Jiang Su, Huo Qingyan began to express his emotions openly.

Jiang Su didn’t receive a reply from Huo Qingyan until he reached the downstairs of the hotel.

It was a bit strange.

Huo Qingyan basically wouldn’t go this long without replying to his messages now.

Jiang Su called Huo Qingyan, but the phone was turned off.

Jiang Su had no choice but to call Zhou Fu.

“President Huo got off work at five o’clock today as well.”

Huo Qingyan’s body had recovered, but he wasn’t as strong as before.

So, Jiang Su required him to get off work on time every day, or else he wouldn’t let him go to the office.

“I understand.”

Jiang Su hung up the phone and checked the time; it was already 9:00 PM.

Until they reached the door of the room, Jiang Su was frowning.

Xu Mocun comforted him: “Maybe his phone ran out of battery and turned off. Go back to your room and rest first. I ordered takeout.”

Jiang Su nodded.

He planned to call Huo Qingyan again after returning to his room.

If Huo Qingyan still didn’t answer, he would have to send someone to his apartment to check on the situation.

Jiang Su opened the door absently and noticed something unusual while changing his shoes.

When staying in hotels for filming, he never asked the staff to clean his room. Recently, he had so many scenes that he didn’t have time to tidy up, so the room had been a bit messy.

But now, at the entryway, his shoes were arranged neatly.

Someone had been in his room.

Frowning, Jiang Su walked further in and found that the room, which had been messy when he left in the morning, was now clean and tidy.

The bedroom door was half-open, and the faint sound of running water came from the bathroom.

Jiang Su’s face darkened, and he started to get angry.

He pushed open the bathroom door angrily: “I said I don’t need…”

The rest of his words automatically silenced when he saw the person in the bathroom clearly.

When the man’s deep eyes saw Jiang Su, a smile rippled in them: “You’re back.”

“Why are you here?” Jiang Su looked at Huo Qingyan in front of him, completely dumbfounded.

Huo Qingyan said very seriously: “I wanted to eat hot pot.”

Jiang Su didn’t know whether to laugh or cry: “You couldn’t find anyone to eat hot pot with, so you traveled a thousand miles to find me?”

Huo Qingyan looked into his eyes, his deep voice filled with indescribable tenderness.

“I missed you too.”

Jiang Su couldn’t quite handle him speaking in such a tone. His ears quietly turned red, and he turned his face away to hide it, trying to find another topic.

His gaze fell on the washbasin full of foam: “What are you washing?”

He could only see a small piece of black fabric; he couldn’t tell what it was.

Hearing this, Huo Qingyan reached out, fished the fabric out of the basin, and continued scrubbing: “Underwear.”

“Why are you washing this as soon as you arrive?” Huo Qingyan must have flown over directly after work; he was still wearing his shirt and dress pants. Why did he start washing underwear before even taking a shower?

After Huo Qingyan was discharged from the hospital, Jiang Su took him back to his own apartment.

Huo Qingyan needed to recuperate, so Jiang Su stayed home with him throughout the autumn.

But this time, Jiang Su didn’t spoil Huo Qingyan like before.

Whether cooking or cleaning, he would call Huo Qingyan to do it with him.

Perhaps people with smart brains were better at everything they did.

The current Huo Qingyan was practically a domestic expert; his cooking and housework skills were better than Jiang Su’s.

Huo Qingyan seemed to have scrubbed it clean. He refilled the basin with clean water and said in the most casual tone: “Yours.”

“M… Mine?” Jiang Su remembered that he had finished work very late last night, showered, and went straight to bed, so he hadn’t had time to wash it.

The man was wearing a shirt and dress pants suitable for a business meeting at any moment, looking impeccably dressed as he rolled up his sleeves to wash his underwear…

They had done more intimate things before, yet Jiang Su felt inexplicably ashamed.

Now, his ears turned completely red.

He stammered when he spoke: “You you you… put it down, I’ll wash it myself.”

“Already washed.” Huo Qingyan wrung out the water, shook it open in front of him, and hung it up.

After hanging it up, Huo Qingyan turned around and noticed Jiang Su’s ears, which were red enough to bleed.

His dark eyes deepened a few shades.

He couldn’t help but reach out to rub Jiang Su’s ear.

The dry fingertips, applying gentle pressure, seemed to carry electricity. A numbing itch, like an electric shock, began to spread from the auricle.

Something would happen if this continued.

Blushing, Jiang Su shook his head lightly in resistance: “Stop rubbing.”

Huo Qingyan withdrew his hand, his low voice laced with a hint of huskiness: “I ordered hot pot delivery. It should be here soon.”
