You Claimed You Didn’t Love Me, So Why Cry Now That I’m Engaged? Chapter 3

Chapter 3: Want to Cooperate?

Gu Huaiye was already in a bad mood, but seeing the face of his romantic rival, Wen Xuyue, sent his anger skyrocketing to its peak.

Especially when he spotted the employee badge on Wen Xuyue’s chest—he instantly understood everything.

Cheating was one thing, but bringing the person into his company? Did he think Gu Huaiye was dead?

Usually, when he came to the company to see Xie Miaohan, Xie Miaohan would always keep a straight face, acting unhappy about his visit.

He had thought Xie Miaohan was just focused on work and didn’t like being disturbed.

It seemed he had overthought it.

He even brought his lover to the company—”doesn’t like being disturbed,” my ass!

He just didn’t like him.

“You’d better explain to me what exactly is going on.”

Seeing the situation turn sour, Wen Xuyue wanted to step forward to mediate, but after just two steps, he was affected by Gu Huaiye’s pheromones, his cheeks flushing red.

“Get out,” Xie Miaohan said coldly.

“But…” Wen Xuyue hesitated.

“Scram.” A ruthless glint flashed through Xie Miaohan’s eyes.

Wen Xuyue bit his lip, covered the back of his neck, and retreated, gently closing the door behind him.

“What?” Gu Huaiye patted Xie Miaohan’s face, his tone full of malice. “Afraid your lover will see?”

Xie Miaohan’s breathing was a bit heavy, but his brow remained cold and distant, as if he didn’t have a shred of interest in Gu Huaiye’s pheromones.

“If you’re going to do it, do it quickly, then get out.”

If Xie Miaohan had shown even a little weakness, Gu Huaiye’s anger would have dissipated long ago. As long as the two of them stopped contacting each other, he would have forgiven Xie Miaohan.

But Xie Miaohan refused to bow his head, constantly stabbing right at Gu Huaiye’s heart.

How could Gu Huaiye endure that? With a cold sneer, he leaned down and captured Xie Miaohan’s lips.

Neither of them felt good; their lips were bitten until they bled.

Gu Huaiye’s forehead was covered in cold sweat, and Xie Miaohan’s face was even paler.

After it was over, Gu Huaiye was still putting up a brave front, smiling as he pinched Xie Miaohan’s chin.

“As long as you promise me that you’ll only sleep with me, I will forgive you this one time.”

He felt he was being generous enough.

No other Alpha could tolerate things to this extent.

Gu Huaiye thought Xie Miaohan would appreciate the gesture, but unexpectedly, Xie Miaohan kept his cold expression and said, “I can’t promise that.”

Gu Huaiye was so angry he spat out a string of “Good, good, good.”

He stood up, picked up his clothes from the floor, and put them on.

“What’s so good about that guy? Is he richer than me? Is he worth you pining over him for so long?”

“Is money the only thing in your eyes?”

Gu Huaiye laughed. “Otherwise? If I didn’t have money, would the school heartthrob, adored by thousands, be with me? Since you decided to marry for money, don’t feel aggrieved—cut ties with him completely.”

“You were the one who forced me back then.”

“Then I don’t mind forcing you again.” Gu Huaiye finished dressing, then picked up Xie Miaohan’s tie and methodically wiped the stains off his hands. “You can’t do it, right? Then I’ll fire Wen Xuyue for you and make him roll as far away as possible.”

Xie Miaohan stared at Gu Huaiye’s movements. He was wiping almost every finger clean, appearing to be utterly disgusted by Xie Miaohan’s body.

Just like usual—whenever Xie Miaohan was forced to release his pheromones, Gu Huaiye would always frown.

Even though that pheromone scent was the one Gu Huaiye had chosen himself.

Xie Miaohan curled his lips, revealing a mocking smile.

How could a person like this have true love?

He was just constantly deceiving himself.

For his own happiness, he disregarded the life and death of others.

“You hands-off boss… you no longer have the power to fire my subordinate.”

“What?”

“You can’t control the decisions I make. When you threw the company to me to manage back then, you should have been prepared to bear the consequences.”

Gu Huaiye was stunned for a few seconds, then laughed out loud.

Laozi is the biggest shareholder. I can’t manage this little matter?”

Xie Miaohan stared at him with pity in his eyes. “When we got married, you gave half of your shares as a betrothal gift. Did you forget?”

Gu Huaiye couldn’t laugh anymore.

Cao, he really had forgotten about that.

No.

It wasn’t that he deliberately forgot, but that he had never expected that one day Xie Miaohan would take the shares he gave and turn around to threaten him.

“Xie Miaohan, I f*cking underestimated you.”

Gu Huaiye threw the tie onto Xie Miaohan’s face, turned around in a rage, and stormed out of the office.

Xie Miaohan lowered his head, looking at the tie in his hand that had long been crumpled out of shape. A moment later, he threw it into the trash can.

When a person is down on their luck, even drinking water can get stuck in their teeth.

It was clearly a sunny day when he arrived, but the moment he came out, it instantly turned into a thunderstorm. Even a face-changing act wasn’t this ridiculous.

Gu Huaiye hadn’t driven over, and he couldn’t hail a taxi in this weather, so he had to call Chen Zirui to come pick him up.

Hearing the bad tone in his voice, Chen Zirui guessed a thing or two—odds were, he had actually caught them in the act.

Since something like that had happened, he didn’t dare refuse Gu Huaiye and immediately ordered the family driver to bring the car around.

Gu Huaiye hung up the phone, looking at the dark clouds in the sky, his mood turning gloomy as well.

Actually, he didn’t want to fight with Xie Miaohan; he wanted to live happily with him.

But this matter made him too angry.

How could Xie Miaohan cheat on him behind his back?

Cheating was bad enough, but why did it have to be with Wen Xuyue?

It made Gu Huaiye feel that his ten years of devotion had been in vain.

No matter how much effort he put in, he could never warm Xie Miaohan’s heart.

Back in school, everyone said how well-matched they were, that they would get married sooner or later.

Yes, their pheromones were so compatible; they were indeed suitable for marriage.

But now, he had ruined Xie Miaohan’s pheromones and installed an artificial gland.

Even after things had reached this point, Xie Miaohan was still pining for that person.

Good, fine, great.

They were the divine couple, and he was the sole clown.

Pei.

What divine couple? As long as he was alive for one more day, he would never let that pair of dogs be together.

And divorce was even more out of the question.

Gu Huaiye finished a cigarette, wondering why Chen Zirui was so slow. Just as he picked up his phone to make a call and rush him, someone came up beside him.

“Gu Xuezhang, long time no see.” Wen Xuyue had already applied a blocker patch to his neck. He flashed a sweet smile at Gu Huaiye. “Ten years have passed, but Gu Xuezhang hasn’t changed a bit. Still so handsome.”

Gu Huaiye hated Wen Xuyue’s smile the most.

Pretentious as always.

“You haven’t changed much either.” Gu Huaiye narrowed his eyes and mocked, “Still like coveting other people’s boyfriends.”

Wen Xuyue’s face went pale. Noticing the curious gazes from around them, he quickly waved his hands.

“Gu Xuezhang, you’ve misunderstood. President Xie and I are innocent.”

“Save that kind of talk.” Gu Huaiye flicked the cigarette butt into the trash can. “Xie Miaohan isn’t here; no one is watching your performance.”

Wen Xuyue pinched the corner of his shirt, then suddenly changed the subject. “Gu Xuezhang, can I treat you to a meal?”

“Want to poison me?”

Wen Xuyue was completely speechless. He lowered his head, biting his lip in aggrievance.

“I don’t care what kind of designs you have on Xie Miaohan, but remember this: you will never be my match.”

Seeing the familiar car approaching, Gu Huaiye couldn’t be bothered to waste any more words with him and strode away.

Wen Xuyue watched the car disappear into the rain, then his expression turned cold as he returned to Xie Miaohan’s office.

Xie Miaohan had already dressed. His face was stern as he looked down at his phone.

Unfortunately, the residual pheromones in the room couldn’t hide what had just happened.

Wen Xuyue clenched his fists. “Why did you do that?”

Xie Miaohan scrolled through his phone screen without a word, seemingly not paying any attention to him.

Wen Xuyue walked directly to the desk.

“Why did you let him misunderstand us? You clearly… know that the person I like is him. You really don’t deserve to be with him.”

Xie Miaohan’s hand paused. Finally, he deigned to lift his head and look at Wen Xuyue.

“Want to cooperate?”

Wen Xuyue was stunned. “What?”

“You help me bring down the Gu Group…” Xie Miaohan paused, then said expressionlessly, “And I will give Gu Huaiye to you.”
