Becoming the Abused Omega and Conquering the Hidden Alpha chapter 66

Chapter 66

How could Gu Lanzhu possibly accept being taken away in such humiliation?

His pride, his self-esteem, his arrogance, and all the special treatment he had enjoyed as a superior being did not allow him to be led away like a disgraced suspect.

Almost the instant Yu Xingxing approached, he fully released his domineering pheromones.

The scent of top-tier Alpha sandalwood swept across the entire deck.

Bai Yue was the closest. His own pheromones, which had been drifting faintly, were suddenly and ruthlessly suppressed.

His legs went weak. Digging his fingers into the bloodstains on his lapel, he trembled as he crouched down, letting out a soft whimper.

It was the first time this dignified rising star of film and television had revealed such an ugly state in public.

Bai Yue closed his eyes in a breakdown.

The onlookers fared no better. Except for the formally trained members of the Golden Shield, everyone else collapsed in a heap, staggering and falling under the pressure of Gu Lanzhu’s frenzied pheromones.

Yu Xingxing’s face instantly darkened.

Gritting his teeth against Gu Lanzhu’s sustained pressure, he held him down. “Mr. Gu, if you continue like this, you will be more than just a suspect. I will arrest you for violating public order regulations…”

The young man let out a muffled groan, his pupils trembling.

In that instant, it was as if all his nerves were gripped by invisible hands. Like someone had pressed a pause button, his limbs couldn’t move, and the words stuck in his throat.

He could only watch helplessly as Gu Lanzhu shook him off and walked forward.

Lu Wanqing and Shu Ci locked eyes at the same time, seeing a shared possibility in each other’s gaze.

“Was it like this for you back then?” Shu Ci asked.

“More or less,” Lu Wanqing turned his head slightly. “He seems to carry a power that doesn’t belong to him, yet makes it impossible for people to defy him.”

Shu Ci let out a cold snort. “Got it. The power of the plot.”

While everyone else was shivering in fear, the couple chatted in hushed tones as if no one else was around; Gu Lanzhu’s pheromones seemed to have no effect on them whatsoever.

“Perhaps this is what it means to be the Chosen One,” Lu Wanqing lowered his eyes.

Shu Ci tilted his head. He saw a flash of despair in Lu Wanqing’s eyes, like ice forming over a deep blue lake, layered with years of accumulated snow.

His nose suddenly stung with emotion.

How did Lu Wanqing endure those minutes and seconds alone, being played like a puppet by the plot?

Shu Ci remained silent for a moment before leaning close to his ear. “Put me down.”

Lu Wanqing tightened his arms. “You don’t want to be held anymore?”

Shu Ci shook his head. He raised his hand to wipe away a tear that had quietly slipped from the corner of his eye and took a deep breath. “Look, I can withstand his pheromones on my own now. I’m going to confront him.”

Lu Wanqing suppressed the emotions in his eyes. He bent slightly to set him down, like a mother eagle watching her chick fall from the cliff before spreading its wings—a cruelty hiding deep anxiety.

His rough thumb brushed over Shu Ci’s restless gland. “Go ahead. Don’t worry, I’ll protect you.”

“Okay.”

A wisp of faint plum blossom scent wound around the tip of his finger.

Lu Wanqing’s gaze softened.

Shu Ci walked calmly toward Gu Lanzhu. There was no trembling, no forced bravado. His life-and-death struggle with the mutated creatures had given him a thorough understanding of every inch of his pheromones, bringing them all under his control.

“You… how are you…”

Gu Lanzhu’s pupils trembled. Watching Shu Ci walk toward him without obstruction, the sense of derailment in his heart became clearer and more intense.

“How am I completely unaffected by the pheromones you take such pride in?” Shu Ci finished the sentence for him.

He shook the camera in his hand that had been secretly recording the whole time.

“President Gu, do you really think anyone could fall in love with you looking like a deranged maniac, indiscriminately using pheromone violence on ordinary people in a public place?”

Once they were ashore and this ugly, madman-like face of his was made public, it wouldn’t just cause fluctuations in the Gu Corporation’s stock price.

It ran completely counter to the policies Gu Yan had announced to win over the Omega vote, enough to slap the face of their entire campaign team.

“Impossible… how is this possible!”

Gu Lanzhu looked in disbelief as Shu Ci walked right up to him. He retracted the pheromones he had spread out and launched a fierce, almost violating attack directly at Shu Ci’s gland.

Behind Shu Ci, Lu Wanqing clenched his fists. His gaze toward Gu Lanzhu was icy cold, but he didn’t move, standing aloof and looking down from above.

He believed in Shu Ci.

This was the outstanding soldier he had personally watched grow at rapid speed.

The sandalwood scent didn’t even touch Shu Ci’s gland.

The seemingly delicate plum blossom scent condensed into a sufficiently sturdy protective film around him, withstanding every one of the opponent’s manic impacts.

Gu Lanzhu was indeed powerful when releasing his limits; the people around who were struggling to stand were instantly crushed back down, their necks bending under the pressure.

Unfortunately, Shu Ci handled it with ease.

He was someone who had lasted for hours in a base where countless Alphas entered extreme training states. No matter how top-tier Gu Lanzhu was, he couldn’t compare to the collective power of that group.

The winter plum scent made no attempt to hide its coldness and arrogance, forcing Gu Lanzhu back step by step, like deflecting a thousand pounds with four ounces of force.

With every contact, Gu Lanzhu felt a wave of numbness.

However, he found himself gradually losing control of his own pheromones, frantically chasing after the wisps of Shu Ci’s light, drifting fragrance.

Gu Lanzhu was shocked to realize that it wasn’t like the first time at the Shu residence, where he could make Shu Ci’s consciousness blur and unable to resist.

On the contrary, the one who was mesmerized this time seemed to be himself.

His eyes gradually lost their luster. As if being dominated, he slowly stood up and walked along the path laid out by the plum blossom scent.

—The end of the road was the ocean.

Gu Lanzhu felt like he was being torn in two, his consciousness and instincts pulling against each other in a pain that made it impossible to breathe.

“Is it comfortable? Does it smell good? Is that all the skill you have?” Shu Ci narrowed his eyes, looking at Gu Lanzhu provocatively.

Then, he turned his head to look at Lu Wanqing.

“Am I being a little too vindictive?”

Lu Wanqing thought of how Shu Ci had rushed into the rainstorm that day, preferring to hide in his arms rather than submit to Gu Lanzhu, and shook his head.

“You are fine just the way you are.”

“Oh—”

Shu Ci dragged out the syllable, his eyes curving into a smile. “Then do you like it?”

Lu Wanqing hadn’t expected him to be so direct and passionate.

He choked up.

The ignored Gu Lanzhu was thoroughly enraged. He roared at the sky, as if squeezing out every last bit of pheromone energy to break free from Shu Ci’s induction and control.

The people around felt an intense hierarchy suppression. Fear crept into their hearts, and physiological tears flowed uncontrollably.

Even Yu Xingxing was struggling to hold on.

He gritted his teeth, directing his men to try their best to protect the passengers around them.

“Help… help…”

“Please…”

Gu Lanzhu couldn’t hear those suppressed pleas and cries for help at all. His eyes saw only Shu Ci as he stomped toward him step by step.

“I leave them to you.”

Shu Ci felt a tiny bit of regret that he didn’t hear the answer after being interrupted by Gu Lanzhu, and rolled his shoulders.

Lu Wanqing nodded.

He instantly released his pheromones, effortlessly wiping away the pressure Gu Lanzhu was exerting over the people.

“Hubby, why hide it? If you don’t show off such an awesome materialization now, when will you?” Shu Ci complained as he rolled up his sleeves.

The corners of Lu Wanqing’s mouth twitched slightly, a smile in his eyes.

Everyone felt a gentle, warm breeze. After the wind passed, the heavy pressure on their bodies vanished, and they sat on the ground, relieved of the burden.

They looked up and froze.

A glittering golden barrier lay across the space between them and Gu Lanzhu, leaving room for Shu Ci and Gu Lanzhu.

In this artificially carved-out space, they could finally breathe.

The people looked in unison at Lu Wanqing. The golden barrier converged at his gland, appearing as if golden mechanical wings were spreading from his back.

In that instant, it was as if they were looking at a savior.

Tears shimmered in Yu Xingxing’s eyes. He helped the person next to him stand up and saluted Lu Wanqing from afar.

“Yu Xingxing of the Far-flung Seventh District, reporting to General Lu Wanqing!”

His voice was resonant, dropping like a bomb into the crowd.

One of the Twelve Generals—someone they could usually only see on TV!

And here he was, right within reach, not even in uniform, looking like he was just on a cruise vacation with his family.

The crowd erupted into a clamor of noise. People pulled out their phones one after another and started recording.

Shu Ci curled the corners of his mouth, retracted his gaze, and looked at Gu Lanzhu’s twisted face.

He treated the man’s pheromones like a mutated creature, recalling that urgent sense of fighting for survival from the brink of death, and then took a deep breath.

His pheromones suddenly condensed into long whips.

One strand wrapped around himself, while the other lashed out ruthlessly at Gu Lanzhu.

Gu Lanzhu was caught off guard. He stumbled two steps, only to be struck hard on the calf by Shu Ci.

He fell to the ground, his whole body trembling.

He tried to summon the desire of 100% compatibility, only to find Shu Ci unmoved. He was the only one suffering, resisting that sense of distraction as if he had taken the wrong drug.

It was as if his soul had been sacrificed to desire. Every time he stirred with intent, he was met with Shu Ci’s whip and spiritual torture.

His entire hand couldn’t stop shaking.

Seeing his mental state severely weakened, Shu Ci gave Yu Xingxing a signal.

“That day, I was like this too.” Shu Ci waited for Yu Xingxing to approach before calmly retracting his pheromones. “With so much evidence, the law couldn’t punish you, so I can only return a tooth for a tooth.”

“Impossible…” Gu Lanzhu shook his head.

The grand Crown Prince of a business empire, falling disheveled into Yu Xingxing’s restraints, gave up struggling and looked at Shu Ci with weary, blank eyes.

“Why is it impossible?” Shu Ci crossed his arms. “Omegas are people too.”

Pheromones were instinct, wildness, and a symbol of certain desires—there was nothing wrong with that.

But through his repeated breakthroughs of limits, Shu Ci had realized a direction called evolution.

The direction of human evolution was a process of surpassing other species, using highly condensed wisdom and will to overcome primitive desires and bestial nature.

When humans began to control their primitive desires, and simple needs for food and lust were basically satisfied, the competition for power, status, and the accompanying benefits began.

The more dominant groups among Alphas perhaps realized through repeated pheromone contests and battles that they could detach themselves from the domination of basic desires through continuous strengthening.

By dominating themselves, they could stand at the top of the food chain for a long time.

Therefore, pheromone training and learning began to be firmly controlled in the hands of these top Alphas.

This tiny minority of people who had achieved complete self-domination began to control all the remaining people driven by desire.

At the same time, Omegas were completely excluded from this system.

They were the foundation for breeding offspring, and the Alphas didn’t want a single Omega to break free from the domination of primitive desires.

They would rather let Omegas remain slaves to compatibility forever.

And having trained to this extent, Shu Ci naturally broke free from the shackles of compatibility and found an evolutionary path to freedom.

“It’s just that the Alphas walking in the clouds don’t want to let us be human,” Shu Ci raised his hand to touch his own gland.

“The ‘Chosen One’?” He pulled the corner of his mouth and muttered to himself, “Then I will just change the sky.”

Any sky that didn’t choose Lu Wanqing was a sky that had been blind for eight hundred years.

It was enough that he chose him.

Subconsciously looking back at Lu Wanqing, Shu Ci discovered many phone cameras surrounding him.

He lowered the corners of his mouth in displeasure.

Even he hadn’t filmed him to his heart’s content yet!

These people… Tsk! A bit annoying.

“Sorry, no photos or videos allowed.”

Shu Ci raised an eyebrow and walked straight to Lu Wanqing, naturally linking arms with him, while his other hand waved away the lenses that were practically sticking to Lu Wanqing’s face.

“Let’s go, let’s go.”

He dragged Lu Wanqing toward the cabin, walking inside while rambling, “Don’t you Generals have image rights? You just let them film you like that?”

Lu Wanqing lowered his eyes, looking at Shu Ci’s fingertips on his arm, his throat moving. “That question just now…”

He asked himself if he liked that question.

“Hmm?” Shu Ci greeted Shen Lin’s bodyguards, walked through the corridor, pushed open the door, and looked back. “What did you say? I didn’t hear clearly.”

Like.

Lu Wanqing fell silent for a moment, swallowing the somewhat scorching word.

“I said—”

Lu Wanqing looked at the back of his neck. “Today was the first time I saw you use a whip.”

It was true that torturing Gu Lanzhu was satisfying.

But Lu Wanqing felt a lingering discomfort.

“Oh! I figured it out but hadn’t used it.” Shu Ci blinked. “Want to see?”

Lu Wanqing raised an eyebrow and erected a barrier to circle the two of them.

Shu Ci closed his eyes, and the pheromone whip landed smoothly in his hand.

Opening his eyes, he looked at the indestructible golden barrier belonging to Lu Wanqing.

Shu Ci’s breath hitched.

He suddenly remembered being on the boat at Dragon Spine Island; when he went up against Lu Wanqing, his honeysuckle vines could only tickle him.

But what about now?

“Lu Wanqing.”

“Hmm.”

“Can I hit you?”

“…?”
