Part 3
Ning Er felt uneasy and looked at Ning Mengde.
Ning Mengde shrank his neck. “Th-Thirty-one million Star Coins.”
Ning Er gasped, knowing this was someone he absolutely couldn’t afford to provoke.
Someone who could take out so many Star Coins at once definitely had more than just a substantial family background; he couldn’t afford to offend them at all.
Just then, there was another commotion outside. The butler hurried out and came back, his face even stranger. “Si-Sir, a batch of large construction robots has arrived outside. They say this Mr. Bai sent them.”
Ning Er frowned and looked over. “Mr. Bai, what is the meaning of this?”
Ning Yunyi looked at him calmly. “I said, I’m only giving you half an hour. When the time comes, if you neither vacate the house nor produce ten million Star Coins, then naturally, I’ll have to collect some interest first.”
Ning Er and Ning Mengde had an ominous premonition. “What interest?”
Ning Yunyi seemed to be in a good mood, watching the panic of the father and son. “If I can’t have the house, then no one lives in it. So… I’ll flatten it.”
The last two words were spoken calmly, but the shock they caused was devastating.
Ning Er and his son were furious. “Are you crazy?”
Young Master Bai looked on with starry eyes. As expected of my uncle. “I’ll help Uncle tear it down later!”
Ning Yunyi: “Twenty minutes left. You don’t have much time. I’ll flatten the house, but the debt you owe me must still be paid.”
Basically: you lose the house and the money.
Ning Er and Ning Mengde were stunned, but they fully believed the other party would do it. After all, this person didn’t lack money and didn’t seem to really want the house; he was just looking for trouble.
Ning Er took a deep breath. “Did we offend you somewhere?”
Ning Yunyi: “Not really. I just find you father and son unpleasant to the eye.”
Ning Er and Ning Mengde choked.
Just then, Ning Mengde’s wristband rang. He looked at it, overjoyed, and opened it immediately. Mu Jiayi’s projected figure appeared opposite Ning Yunyi’s group.
Ning Mengde quickly said, “Jiayi, this Mr. Bai refuses to accommodate…”
Mu Jiayi spoke to stop him from saying “transfer money.” He took the initiative to plead for mercy because he was afraid Ning Er, forced into a corner, would recall their previous cooperation and blurt it out in front of everyone.
So he had to take the initiative. “Mr. Bai, we met at the South City auction house before. This matter isn’t a huge deal. I believe ten million Star Coins isn’t much to Mr. Bai. How about giving me some face and delaying for a few days? We’ll calculate the interest then; we certainly won’t let Mr. Bai suffer a loss.”
Ning Yunyi looked at Mu Jiayi, who acted as if this arrangement was good for everyone, and sneered. “Give you face?”
Mu Jiayi’s expression froze. Hearing Mr. Bai’s tone, he had a bad premonition.
Sure enough, the next moment, that cold, almost mocking voice sounded again: “And what kind of thing are you? Why should I give you face? Or is your face worth ten million Star Coins?”
“Mr. Bai! Is this necessary? Are my Mu family and the Zong family so worthless in your eyes?” Mu Jiayi tried to escalate the issue to the two major families to intimidate the other party.
But the other party didn’t buy it at all, looking at him coldly as if looking at an ant. “Then can you represent the entire Mu family, or can Zong Ling represent the entire Zong family?”
Mu Jiayi’s expression froze: Naturally, I can’t.
Ning Yunyi: “Since you can’t, then who are you? And who does Zong Ling count as? Why should I give you face? You people—what kind of things are you?”
Just then, a voice sounded from the other side. “Mu Jiayi, who are you talking to? What about me?”
Mu Jiayi on the other side suddenly panicked, looked away immediately, and ended the call directly.
Ning Er and Ning Mengde stood there dumbfounded. It was their first time seeing someone so arrogant. Even if Mu Jiayi was just a junior, he was still a Mu.
Not to mention Zong Ling was the future heir of the Zong family.
Good heavens, this Mr. Bai in front of them dismissed Zong Ling as worthless with a single sentence?
Ning Er instantly made a calculation in his heart; the other party wasn’t even afraid of the Zong family.
Could he really afford to offend him?
After thinking it over again and again, it seemed the other party had set his sights on this house. If he didn’t get it, he would destroy it. He couldn’t come up with ten million Star Coins no matter what, and if pushed too far, Ning Mengde might really hand it over.
If I had known earlier, I wouldn’t have transferred the house to him.
Finally, Ning Er gritted his teeth. “We… will move.”
The items inside had mostly been rummaged through. If they wanted an empty house, then let them have it.
Ning Mengde stood aside, guilty but inexplicably relieved.
He was really afraid these people would, without a word, actually hang him outside the door to be someone’s live-in son-in-law.
Once Ning Er agreed, Ning Mengde, afraid he would regret it, immediately found the Star Network online certification as soon as Ning Yunyi mentioned the transfer.
In less than ten minutes, after passing verification, the ancestral home was under the name [Bai Yan Yu].
Ning Yunyi confirmed the house had changed owners before looking at Ning Er, whose face was extremely ugly, looking as if his flesh was being cut.
But next, he would only be more furious.
Ning Yunyi poured oil on the fire, saying, “I’ll give you one hour to move out of here immediately. Within one hour, take whatever you can.”
Ning Er laughed in anger. “There are so many things here; how can I move them in an hour?”
Ning Yunyi: “You’re asking me? I don’t care how you move. If you don’t leave voluntarily in an hour, I’ll ‘invite’ you out.”
Obviously, this ‘invite’ wouldn’t be a pleasant method.
Ning Mengde was scared, staring wide-eyed with fear at Ning Er.
Ning Er directed all his rage at Ning Mengde. “Look what you’ve done!”
Ning Mengde knew he was in the wrong, but he wasn’t smart to begin with; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been led by the nose by Mu Jiayi for so many years.
Ning Yunyi meant what he said. He brought up the countdown and started timing without waiting for the father and son to finish arguing.
Ning Er could only grit his teeth and immediately order the butler to lead the others to start packing.
With the others in the reception hall gone, Hao Yan and Joe smiled and said, “Congratulations, Mr. Bai, on getting the house you wanted.”
Ning Yunyi: “This was all thanks to you two.”
Hao Yan and the others waved their hands. “Not at all. If it weren’t for Mr. Bai, I wouldn’t have beaten Ning Mengde in South City. Although that guy isn’t much, he has some petty cleverness, and his dice skills are quite famous in the circle.”
Ning Yunyi didn’t mention the ten million Star Coins, knowing they didn’t lack money and wouldn’t accept it, so he had prepared gifts in advance.
He handed over two palm-sized boxes. “A token of appreciation, please accept it.”
Hao Yan and Joe looked at each other, thought for a moment, and accepted them. Reciprocity was better; next time they could give Mr. Bai something they felt was worthy of him.
An hour later, as unwilling as Ning Er was, he still left with his family.
As for the other members of the Ning family’s Second Branch who hadn’t returned yet, they could only be notified one by one via wristband.
Ning Er gave up the house partly because Ning Mengde had indeed signed the paper in black and white, and the house was now in the other party’s name; partly because he realized he couldn’t afford to offend them; and finally, out of fear of those twenty bodyguards, afraid they would really throw them out.
If that happened, all dignity would be lost.
When Ning Er left with his people, he looked at the onlookers and pretended to angrily scold Ning Mengde, actually explaining the reason: that prodigal son Ning Mengde had gambled away the ancestral home.
He, Ning Er, was a man who honored promises. The father is responsible for the son’s faults; he had no choice but to fulfill the promise and vacate the premises as agreed.
Thus, although embarrassing, he managed to keep a reputation for honoring commitments.
News spread on the Star Network, mixed with praise and criticism, which made him sigh in relief. At least he hadn’t completely lost face; there was still a chance to turn things around.
