I don’t like your scales CHAPTER 47

Chapter 47: Hug More, Then You’ll Allow It

This couldn’t even be called kissing; it was practically just reckless gnawing.

Bai Xuci had no idea what he was doing. He was simply searching desperately for the source, his eyes squeezed shut.

His warm lips pressed against the other’s repeatedly.

Nothing… there was nothing at all…

It felt like there was a barrier; he couldn’t find what he needed no matter what.

Fan Yue kept his gaze lowered, allowing the creature in his arms to paw and grope at him, his expression betraying no emotion.

Whimper…” A sound of utter collapse.

Bai Xuci’s face was streaked with tears, seemingly crying from the pain, yet he still couldn’t find the spiritual power.

Useless, useless.

The thought looped endlessly in his fever-addled brain.

The strength in his arms seemed to expire, and they dropped weakly to his sides, his fingers losing their grip on the other’s robes.

“Hurts… it hurts…” An indistinct moan.

Bai Xuci seemed to have finally fallen into “despair.” He stopped trying to press close and instead slumped shakily back onto the other’s shoulder.

Tears flowed silently, soaking a small patch of the fabric.

Can’t… can’t find it… still hurts…

Can’t find it…

Fan Yue noticed the creature in his arms had gone quiet again. The finger he had resting on the armrest twitched slightly.

He shifted his gaze to look.

The eyelashes were wet, and the cheeks were flushed pink, likely from the high fever.

He was breathing raggedly, his brows furrowed tight.

Why had he stopped trying to kiss?

Bai Xuci was still struggling to breathe, his frown never leaving his face. He had cried so much that the corners of his eyes were red.

Can’t find it, can’t find it.

But just then, through his haze, a shadow loomed over him.

Cool lips hovered inches away, seemingly hesitant, probing, before releasing a few wisps of spiritual energy.

Bai Xuci responded almost instantly with urgency. His hands, which had been powerless just a moment ago, now clamped firmly around Fan Yue’s neck, terrified he would leave.

He kissed clumsily.

Lips and teeth entangled, producing faint, wet sounds.

MmnNgh…”

Bai Xuci’s breathing was already heavy, and this only made it more difficult.

He desperately wanted the spiritual power, but he also desperately needed to breathe.

After a moment of weighing his options, he tightened his hold on Fan Yue’s neck, as if guarding against the “spiritual power” escaping, before reluctantly pulling his lips away.

Air, air.

He finally managed a deep inhale, his thin chest rising and falling rapidly.

But in that instant, a large hand appeared at the back of Bai Xuci’s neck, abruptly cutting off his “breathing” process.

He was forced into a kiss again, with urgency.

Bai Xuci frowned, feeling a bit uncomfortable.

Not enough spiritual power, still not enough.

He kissed harder, his teeth grazing the corner of the other’s mouth, drawing a hint of blood.

Fan Yue’s eyes grew darker and deeper…

The creature in his arms seemed to taste the flavor and became increasingly proactive, seeming to want to pull him in completely.

“Want… want…” The tone was incredibly anxious.

Fan Yue wrapped an arm directly around his waist and lifted him slightly, finally allowing Bai Xuci to settle into a more comfortable position.

The little tongue constantly licked at the wound, trying to coax out some blood.

But he didn’t know that doing so would only make it heal faster.

Fan Yue’s hand slid up and down Bai Xuci’s spine, stroking his flexible waist.

Whimper… gone, it’s gone.”

Unable to find it again, the creature in his arms immediately put on a mournful face and stopped kissing.

He lifted his head, looking completely lost.

Fan Yue clicked his tongue softly. He pinched the back of the person’s neck, pulled him back, and cast a spell to widen the wound on his lip slightly.

A bit of red blood flowed out.

The creature in his arms leaned in once more.

Clumsily, so clumsily, he began to lick.

“I’ve really spoiled your palate; you can’t even draw out spiritual energy anymore.” A casual remark.

Early Morning—

The Great Hall remained gloomy. The sunlight from outside couldn’t penetrate, leaving only the ghost fire lamps working diligently to provide light.

Hiss…” A sound of discomfort.

Bai Xuci managed to prop his upper body up with his arms, his brow still tightly furrowed, looking dazed.

His whole body ached.

He slowly opened his eyes. The scenery before him gradually came into focus, revealing several small ghost fires dancing in front of him.

They bobbed around, seeming to be observing him.

“I’m awake, no need to check,” Bai Xuci said to the little things, offering a gentle smile.

He reached up to touch his throat, feeling a bit strange…

Why was his voice hoarse? Did that little pill have this many side effects?

Bai Xuci shook his head. His memory slowly rewound, recalling the fact that Fu Ling had brought him here.

He blinked, wanting to slap his own face to wake himself up properly.

But as he extended his hand, Bai Xuci suddenly froze.

He… was in human form?

Bai Xuci instantly perked up. He wobbled off the bed, staring at his hands in confusion.

This was a rare sight!

Usually, when he woke up in the rabbit hole, he was inevitably in his true form.

The reason was simple: he would have used up all his spiritual power the previous day.

But now?

Bai Xuci suspiciously checked his spiritual power, his expression shifting.

So much?!

The little ghost fires didn’t rush back to their lamps; instead, they circled Bai Xuci, acting a bit silly.

Bai Xuci was instantly overjoyed. With this much spiritual power, he could cultivate!

No more calculating how many hours he could maintain human form every day.

Yes!

Instinctively, he spun in a circle, checking his condition as he did.

Although he had felt sore when he first woke up, he now felt inexplicably refreshed.

Spiritual power was surging through his body.

“Was that little pill really so potent…” he muttered softly to himself.

“Awake?” A slightly deep voice came from behind. The ghost fires around Bai Xuci immediately scattered, fleeing with impressive speed.

Before Bai Xuci could even turn around, an arm hooked around his waist, pulling him directly backward.

“!!”

“Eh, Zun Shang…”

Bai Xuci instantly went silent. His entire being felt off because the other person… the other person was sniffing him.

He swallowed nervously.

Seemingly unsatisfied, Fan Yue pulled Bai Xuci tighter, lowered his head, and sniffed again.

Mm, the scent hasn’t faded.

Still his.

Bai Xuci was like a baby chick, not daring to move a muscle the entire time.

Only when he felt the other person pull away slightly did he let out a breath of relief.

“Zun Shang, you—”

Bai Xuci’s words were interrupted again as his feet left the ground. He was being picked up again.

“Does it still hurt?” Fan Yue asked, walking back to the bed and manually adjusting the position of the little demon in his arms.

He pinched the other’s wrist to check his internal condition.

Bai Xuci was a bit dazed, but hearing the question, he forgot to struggle.

“It doesn’t hurt anymore.” His voice was still raspy and unpleasant to hear.

Fan Yue looked up. Bai Xuci didn’t dodge his gaze, looking back with innocent confusion.

“Your throat is broken,” Fan Yue stated.

Bai Xuci didn’t quite agree and retorted, “No, I can still talk, it’s just a little hoarse.”

As he spoke, he touched his throat again, feeling a bit concerned.

Could it be tonsillitis?

Fan Yue had already checked Bai Xuci’s dantian, consciousness sea, demon core, and spiritual power. Only after confirming there were no issues did he let go of the wrist.

Instead of holding the wrist, he stroked the back of the other’s hand a few times.

His eyes stared straight at the other’s lips.

Pink, and very soft…

He leaned in closer unconsciously, his gaze darkening.

Bai Xuci had been seriously considering whether he needed to drink more water when he suddenly recoiled in terror.

His body tensed up.

“Zun Shang, what are you doing?”

Fan Yue paused. Suddenly realizing something, he lifted his eyelids to look at him, asking word by word:

“You forgot everything?”

His tone was practically through gritted teeth.

Bai Xuci immediately shivered, a bit scared, and instinctively wanted to get down.

“I… am I supposed to remember something?” His voice was weak, but he still wanted to figure out what was going on.

“Hah!” Fan Yue let out a cold laugh.

Bai Xuci pursed his lips and shivered again, nervous.

“…”

Fan Yue stared at the nervous creature and suddenly felt helpless.

“Forget it.”

There would be plenty of time in the future.

Although Bai Xuci didn’t know what he had forgotten, he felt an inexplicable urge to escape the topic.

Last night, he had been dizzy with pain, his consciousness floating away; it wasn’t much different from being drunk.

Being interrogated like this, it was hard for Bai Xuci not to assume the worst.

Did he vomit…?

Or did he say something nonsense?

His mind was a mess.

But just then, Bai Xuci’s arm was suddenly lifted. He was hoisted into the air and moved onto the other leg.

“??”

He looked at Fan Yue blankly, not understanding the reason.

“You adapt very well, so why did you struggle before?” The tone was indifferent, genuinely puzzled.

Bai Xuci was rendered speechless. How did they get back to the topic of hugging?

“No, before… I just didn’t… didn’t react in time…”

“You’ve already hugged me forcefully so many times now, what’s the point of struggling? It’s useless anyway.” He tried to explain, clarifying his stance.

Fan Yue extracted the key information: “Hug more, and you’ll let me hug.”

“So that is how it is.”

“…”

Bai Xuci was like a wooden doll, arranged into various positions, all of them involving hugs.

He eventually just resigned himself to it.

Ben Zuo still has some matters to attend to. Will you be alright here by yourself?” His tone actually held a hint of apology.

Hearing this, Bai Xuci’s eyes lit up. The Great Demon was leaving?

No more hug practice?

“Yes, yes, yes!” He popped his head up excitedly.

Fan Yue frowned slightly, not very satisfied with this answer.

But he really did have matters to handle.

“Then you—”

“Eh, Zun Shang, the skin on your lip is broken?” Bai Xuci murmured aloud. He had only just noticed the wound; it seemed to be a bit further inside the lip.

You couldn’t see it unless you looked closely.

Amusement rose in Fan Yue’s golden pupils as he stared fixedly at the creature in his arms.

“Mm.”

“It hurts very much,” he added.

Bai Xuci was suspicious. How could such a small wound hurt?

Is he tricking the rabbit?

Also, why tell him that? Could it be that he wants to—

“Ah, how did that happen?” Bai Xuci was very quick on the uptake, following the flow of conversation naturally.

Fan Yue: “Bitten.”

His tone was somewhat nonchalant.

Bai Xuci froze instantly. His gaze shifted to the wound, filled with shock.

The wound was so far inside… bitten… how was it bitten?

It must have been during intimate grinding, lips and teeth entangled.

The image of the beautiful female demon in the Hall of Dust suddenly surfaced in his mind. It seemed like he figured it out instantly.

“Ah, I see,” he replied slowly.

He looked a bit distracted and out of sorts.

Seeing the little demon act this way, Fan Yue thought he had remembered something. He suppressed the curve of his lips.

He cupped the small chin that had dropped down.

Then, with one arm, he placed Bai Xuci on the edge of the bed and promised:

“I won’t make you wait too long.”
