Wait, Clearly I’m the Alpha chapter 4

Chapter 4

One of the grand banquet halls at Chunshui Xifeng, which had been sitting idle for some time, was booked out.

As evening fell, the lights in the banquet hall blazed to life. Several glittering crystal chandeliers reflected off the marble floor. A massive champagne tower stood in the very center, flanked by long tables laden with buffet dishes; even the dessert stands on the tables were inlaid with luxurious blue crystals.

The Betas, led in from the reception room outside by waiters, were all dressed to the nines. They had passed through two rounds of full-body searches and had all their personal items confiscated before being allowed inside.

Most of these Betas were from the influencer circle, along with a few minor celebrities. Those who knew each other exchanged glances and tacitly looked away.

In a setting like this, there was really no need for small talk, nor was there any room for acting superior or looking down on anyone.

After all, they were all swallowing their pride to latch onto a sugar daddy for a meal ticket; nothing to be ashamed of.

On the second floor of the banquet hall, Xie Wangyuan leaned over the glass railing, his index finger tapping against the glass beneath his palm. After counting the number of people downstairs, he turned and went back into the private box.

The lights in the box flickered with an ambiguous glow. Xie Wangyuan sat in the center of the sofa, arms resting on the backrest, a cigarette dangling from his lips.

A stack of papers lay on the coffee table in front of him. Xie Wangyuan picked them up, flipped through them casually, and made a hand gesture. The waiter at the door began calling people into the box by name.

Ren Yi had come over right after his afternoon meeting, terrified he might miss the show. He poked his head out to take a look; the long line of Betas queuing on the stairs and heading toward the box looked exactly like a massive casting call for a beauty pageant.

The first Beta to enter wore a silk satin shirt, the fabric so thin it was practically translucent, hinting at a slender waistline. The V-neck was deep, and with his height advantage, the scenery inside was clearly visible without him having to move much.

Xie Wangyuan, cigarette never leaving his hand, gave him a lazy, cursory glance. With just a few words of critique, he had the man on the verge of tears before the guy ran out directly.

Ren Yi couldn’t stand watching anymore. He took out his phone, snapped a photo, and sent it to Meng Chaozhi.

I’ll Drink, You Do As You Please: My Brother Yuan, the romantic playboy.

[Meng Chaozhi]: Nice shot. I’m commandeering it.

I’ll Drink, You Do As You Please: You have everything arranged?

[Meng Chaozhi]: Don’t worry.

Ren Yi put away his phone and looked up. How many Betas had walked out already? Ren Yi had lost count. Watching the drama unfold, he sincerely hoped Xie Tiancheng wouldn’t have a heart attack when he found out.

Ren Yi shook his head with emotion; truly worthy of being Brother Yuan.

Another Beta walked in. Xie Wangyuan tossed aside the top few pages, played with his lighter, and lifted his eyelids, his voice slightly husky. “Feng Yu?”

The ashtray on the coffee table was already filled with cigarette butts. The entire box reeked of heavy alcohol and smoke, mingled with what seemed to be the pleasant, faint scent of an Alpha.

Under the hazy lights, the Alpha’s shirt sleeves were rolled up several folds, revealing strong forearms and a patch of chest. His lower half was clad in white dress pants that wrapped around long legs, hinting at the muscle definition beneath. The whole image was one of languid sex appeal.

Feng Yu swallowed hard. stared at by those eyes that looked deep with affection yet carried a hint of frivolity, he found himself momentarily speechless.

Feng Yu was a minor influencer who wasn’t particularly popular. He was a Beta, handsome enough, and his agency had paired him with an Omega to film daily life short videos. He had participated in a few variety web shows, and while he had some fans, he had always been lukewarm.

Feng Yu had thought about transitioning his career or acting, but his family background was average, his grades were poor, and his university was even more mediocre. Aside from his looks, he had nothing to show for himself.

Feng Yu had heard about tonight’s banquet from an acquaintance in the circle.

Second Young Master Xie, Xie Wangyuan, who had been trending on the hot search for the past two days, was holding a banquet exclusively for Betas to select a “male companion.”

Although they used the euphemism “male companion,” given Xie Wangyuan’s style abroad, everyone knew exactly what he was selecting.

But regardless, this was the Xie family. Even if it was just rolling around in bed with Xie Wangyuan for one night, the benefits gained would likely be substantial.

There was no need to consider whether to go or not. Feng Yu hid it from his agent and secretly took a taxi to Chunshui Xifeng.

After waiting for nearly the entire afternoon, seeing so many Betas leave in a breakdown ahead of him, the cold sweat on Feng Yu’s back hadn’t dried yet. His original confidence had long since vanished.

Receiving no response, Xie Wangyuan pinched the thin pages in his hand, frowning impatiently.

Feng Yu swallowed again, snapped back to reality, and hurriedly said, “I—I am…”

He knew what the papers in Xie Wangyuan’s hand were. They were the forms they had been required to fill out carefully while waiting in the reception room. Aside from surveying their familiarity with various entertainment activities, there was an extremely detailed investigation into their private lives.

Detailed to what extent?

What talents and hobbies do you have? When did you present? When was your first relationship? When was your first time? Number of sexual partners? Were they Alphas, Betas, or Omegas? What positions do you like in bed? Do you accept S&M? To what degree? Do you accept group sports (orgies)? If you haven’t been in a relationship, what is the frequency of self-pleasure…

It was very detailed, and also very humiliating. It had angered quite a few somewhat famous idols and minor stars into leaving, but a Beta like Feng Yu—with no family background and wanting to climb the ladder this way—naturally wouldn’t care.

“Tsk.” Xie Wangyuan frowned, looked down, and glanced at the form in front of him again. “Go wait in the box next door.”

Stunned, Feng Yu was led to the adjacent box by a waiter.

What was the situation? He was kept? But… Xie Wangyuan hadn’t done anything, nor had he asked anything.

Soon, one Beta after another came in, gradually filling the sofas in the box. A duet love song played on the TV, but the atmosphere was eerily quiet.

Having reached this step, everyone felt they had a hope of becoming Xie Wangyuan’s “male companion,” and everyone felt that the one staying tonight would be them.

Just as Feng Yu was thinking about whether to take off his jacket to reveal the more form-fitting shirt underneath, the box door opened.

Xie Wangyuan was leisurely adjusting his cuffs, his gait casual even in those few short steps.

After fixing his cuffs, Xie Wangyuan took a stack of papers from the waiter and slowly scanned the Betas sitting primly before him. “You all filled out these forms truthfully, right?”

He pulled the corner of his mouth. “If I find out later that anyone lied or falsified information, you know the consequences.”

The group of Betas nodded profusely, indicating they absolutely had not lied.

Xie Wangyuan seemed satisfied. He tossed the papers casually to his side; they fluttered to the floor and were stepped on by a pair of shiny, spotless leather shoes.

Xie Wangyuan raised his chin at the waiter. “Take them upstairs.”

Feng Yu hurriedly stood up, even raising a hand to smooth out the hem of his slightly messy clothes, ready to face the next “test” in high spirits.

As he passed the door, Feng Yu saw the Beta who had been leaning against the wall since he entered reveal a hint of a sneering smile.

Wasn’t he just someone who had been with Xie Wangyuan longer than them? Feng Yu snorted with disdain in his heart; he really thought he was someone special.

Ren Yi, who was happily watching the show but inexplicably got rolled eyes at: “?”

After passing through a long corridor, the waiter stopped by the stairs leading up, clearly not intending to lead the way further.

The selected Betas went up to the third floor one after another, standing in a bewildered cluster at the top of the stairs, looking at each other in dismay.

So, all of them… were they going to do it all together right off the bat?

Was this Second Young Master Xie… really this impatient?
