THE REBATE SYSTEM OF SUDDEN WEALTH CHAPTER 112

Chapter 112: In Perfect Order

After Liu Ji left in a hurry, the room fell silent for a moment.

Xie Xian looked at Gu Wanrong and spoke softly, “You’re really good to him. You decided to invest just like that. Now he has plenty of confidence to avoid going back to the Liu family.”

Inexplicably, Gu Wanrong detected a faint hint of sourness in his tone. She smiled and shook her head. “Don’t say that. I also see the potential in Shifei Technology.”

Xie Xian lifted his tea cup and took a sip, hiding the smile at the corner of his mouth.

He nodded in agreement. “The potential of Shifei Technology is indeed huge. If Liu Ji wasn’t so set on avoiding ties with the Liu family, there wouldn’t be so many people targeting it in the shadows.”

Gu Wanrong stroked Nai Cha, curled up on her knees. The cat purred as she petted it. When the servant brought in the tea earlier, Nai Cha had trotted in with small steps, jumped onto Gu Wanrong’s lap immediately, and refused to leave.

“Why…” Gu Wanrong wanted to ask why Liu Ji refused his family’s protection when there was no apparent conflict. But thinking it was his privacy, she didn’t pursue it.

She looked down at Nai Cha in her arms and sighed inwardly. It was better not to be overly curious about others’ privacy; if they wanted to share, they would say so themselves.

So, she changed the subject. “Look, this is Nai Cha. I cut a blue floating flower jade in Rongcheng last time and made it a pendant for her.” As she spoke, Gu Wanrong took out her phone and found the photo of Nai Cha wearing the jade pendant.

Xie Xian put down his cup and switched seats, moving within reach of Nai Cha.

Time slipped away unnoticed. A servant knocked and entered to announce dinner, and only then did the two realize they had been chatting for a long time without noticing the hours fly by.

Gu Wanrong invited Xie Xian to stay for dinner, and he readily accepted.

Butler Liu managed Baixian Manor excellently, and now every meal at Yunding Yazhu was supplied with ingredients from there. Although professional chefs had been hired after Butler Liu took office, Aunt Xiu, who had followed Gu Wanrong, was still there. Aunt Xiu made tonight’s dinner.

After dinner, Gu Wanrong and Xie Xian went for a walk, intending to walk Xie Xian home.

However, once they reached Xie Xian’s door, they turned around and walked back, resulting in Xie Xian walking Gu Wanrong home instead.

Gu Wanrong had to wave goodbye to Xie Xian at her courtyard gate. When she hugged Nai Cha and leaned back on the sofa, Butler Liu approached with a stack of invitations.

“Miss,” Butler Liu said, “These are the invitations and cards received in the last few days. Please see if there are any you wish to attend.”

Letting Nai Cha lie in her arms on its own, Gu Wanrong took the stack of envelopes.

At a glance, Butler Liu had arranged them chronologically, with the nearest dates on top and the furthest at the bottom.

Gu Wanrong didn’t even open the stack; just looking through them, most seemed incredibly boring.

flipping through them casually, she saw invitations to concerts, art exhibitions, and social gatherings.

She pondered whether to attend as she looked. For her, these social occasions weren’t mandatory, but sometimes participating could add a bit of fun to life.

Others were engagement parties for someone’s children, grand openings for second-generation startups, or new product launches…

Truth be told, Gu Wanrong only had a vague impression of most of these people and no real friendship with any of them.

Gu Wanrong picked these invitations out and handed them to Butler Liu. “Handle these according to custom. Just make sure the gifts are delivered; I won’t go.”

“Yes, Miss.” Butler Liu took the invitations, scanned them quickly, and acknowledged the order.

There were some commercial invitations left. Unlike the perfunctory ones above, Gu Wanrong opened these to take a look.

Hmm… better let Tong Shenyi and the others go. They look professional but seem really boring.

Looking at the content of these invitations, Gu Wanrong couldn’t help but recall being young and naive. The first time she received an invitation, she had asked Tong Shenyi, who said it might be worth a look. She went excitedly and returned listless.

Like an old lady’s foot-binding cloth—long and smelly—everyone who went up to speak droned on forever, Tong Shenyi included.

After that day, Gu Wanrong secretly resolved that unless it was an event requiring her personal presence as Chairman, she would never attend such dull meetings again.

Recollection over, Gu Wanrong handed this stack to Butler Liu as well. “Check the content of these and give them to Tong Shenyi and the others. Let them attend on behalf of the company.”

After three rounds of selection, only one auction house invitation remained in Gu Wanrong’s hand, unopened.

This invitation came from Ruyi Zhai, which would hold a special antique auction in Four Nine City the day after tomorrow.

Lin Yu had been working on the renovation of the five-courtyard house in Qingnan Hutong for over two months. With money spent freely, the efficiency was high. It was practically finished; moving in now would be no problem at all.

Only a few minor details remained where Lin Yu wanted perfection.

Lin Yu reported to Butler Liu every week on what the “Gu Residence” looked like. Gu Wanrong had just seen this week’s photos not long ago, so this invitation came at the perfect time.

For the renovated Gu Residence, most of the decorations Lin Yu selected were faux-antique crafts. While beautiful, they weren’t as suitable for decorating a courtyard house as genuine antiques.

Gu Wanrong planned to go to this auction to add some satisfactory antique collections to her Gu Residence.

Closing the opened invitation, she noticed Nai Cha, whom she had ignored for a while, was pawing at her impatiently. Gu Wanrong petted Nai Cha soothingly and ordered Butler Liu, “Tomorrow we return to Four Nine City. We’ll stay at the Gu Residence for the three-day New Year holiday. I want to attend this antique auction personally the day after tomorrow.”

Having received his instructions, Butler Liu finished sorting all the invitations Gu Wanrong had reviewed.

He then added, “Miss, all the sports cars bought at the car show today are parked in the garage. Do you need to transport a few to the garage at the Gu Residence in Four Nine City?”

Gu Wanrong nodded. Of course, she wanted to transport some over. She no longer cared for the cars she bought previously; she only wanted to drive supercars in and out every day. She had learned racing skills but hadn’t truly satisfied her craving yet.

Tapping her finger on the tablet Butler Liu presented, Gu Wanrong checked off a few supercars and asked Butler Liu to have them transported to Four Nine City.

With both matters concerning Gu Wanrong resolved, Butler Liu left with the tablet and invitations.

Having Butler Liu was wonderful!

Gu Wanrong sighed with appreciation as she watched Butler Liu’s retreating figure.

In the past, receiving these invitations meant replying and sending gifts one by one herself. Now, Butler Liu handled it all. He also managed Baixian Manor well, satisfying all her needs. Buying cars today only required her to swipe a card; Butler Liu ran around handling all the paperwork, sparing her any trouble.

The trivial matters of life, inside and out, up and down, were all managed in perfect order by Butler Liu. It was truly great!

She just had to enjoy it.
