Chapter 025: Tangtang Has a Fever
Both Su Tang and Ye Chiyu fell into their respective busy routines.
The Ye Group was negotiating cooperation with several multinational enterprises recently, and projects with the local government were coming to a close. Every item required his constant supervision, leaving him overwhelmed with work every day.
Su Tang, meanwhile, was approaching final exams. He ran to school almost every day. Aside from eating and sleeping, he practically lived in the library and the performance classrooms. He didn’t even have time for a meal with Mr. Ye, who occasionally managed to free up some time.
Because the apartment was close to Su Tang’s school, Ye Chiyu moved many of his belongings from his original residence to Jiangting. With the addition of Su Tang’s chaotic assortment of small items, their new home gradually became crowded and cozy.
Their schedules rarely aligned. When Ye Chiyu returned home from the company after ten at night, Su Tang was still pulling an all-nighter in the study room. The little guy would only return home near 1:00 AM, take a quick shower, burrow into the blankets, and then, in his sleep, burrow into Ye Chiyu’s arms.
The next day, Su Tang naturally couldn’t wake up. Ye Chiyu, opening his eyes promptly at 7:00 AM, would always stare intently at the little guy’s sleeping face for a while, kissing Su Tang’s nose tip before he could bring himself to gently pry away the small hands wrapped around his waist.
Worried that the little guy wouldn’t eat properly under the academic pressure, Ye Chiyu had Qi Yuan arrange for people to deliver meals to Su Tang daily. Three meals a day plus afternoon tea and a late-night snack, the menu changing daily, with every meal exquisite and delicious.
Several of Su Tang’s close classmates were stunned on the first day. After a barrage of questioning, Su Tang blushed and admitted he had a boyfriend, causing the group of boys to tease him until he wished he could find a crack in the ground to hide in.
For the next half-month, the Alpha’s food delivery never missed a beat. Sometimes it even came with a beautiful bouquet of flowers or a small piece of matcha cake that Su Tang liked.
The classmates could see how devoted Su Tang’s Alpha was to him. Every day, they were either envious or jealous, howling around Su Tang so loudly he almost couldn’t memorize his key points and wanted to beat them up.
Su Tang was considered the ‘department flower’ of the acting department. Since he was at school, he didn’t deliberately hide the fact that he had a boyfriend. Consequently, when walking on campus after class, he would occasionally feel people sizing him up, which he wasn’t used to.
Jiang Ke patted his shoulder in consolation. “It’s fine. Who asked you to be so good-looking and stay single for so long? Forget our department, there are tons of Alphas in the whole school who have their eyes on you!”
Liang Sijie, an Omega who shared a dorm with Jiang Ke, spoke up with grave sincerity. “Comrade Little Su, it’s a good thing you have a partner now. Otherwise, ordinary little Omegas like us wouldn’t get a second glance with you around! Now that you’re off the market, big brother here finally has a chance!”
Su Tang rolled his eyes hard at Liang Sijie. Ling Fei, who usually didn’t talk much, covered his mouth and snickered on the side.
Just as the group was about to split up for lunch, Qi Yuan called. He said the President had specially prepared meals for Su Tang and his classmates, which would be supplied continuously until exams were over.
Mr. Ye was so busy himself yet still considered him this much. Su Tang’s heart felt warm. He quickly sent a voice message thanking Ye Chiyu, attaching a narcissistic selfie taken in the library mirror earlier, then hurriedly called out to the trio heading for the back gate to buy food.
The lively Liang Sijie, eating the lavish lunch, was moved to tears. Being nearly broke at the end of the month, he was practically weeping with gratitude.
“Su Tang, I approve of this marriage!”
Jiang Ke glared at him. “Just eat your food, you talk too much!”
Ling Fei came from a humble background and was usually very frugal with food and money. Seeing Su Tang’s boyfriend treating them to such a fine lunch, he was curious.
“Su Tang, is your boyfriend’s family very wealthy? I see these things… seem not cheap…”
At his question, the other two also grew curious. After all, Su Tang only said his boyfriend treated him well but kept tight-lipped about everything else.
Su Tang thought seriously for a moment, then stuck out his tongue. “Just average, not very rich.”
His Mr. Ye probably just has a ‘bill-ion’ or two.
Regarding Mr. Ye’s identity, he still didn’t want to reveal too much to others, so he told a white lie.
In the blink of an eye, it was December. S City, located in the tropics and almost never seeing snow, began to experience a sudden drop in temperature. Su Tang, who finally finished his last subject and handed in his paper early, walked out of the exam hall only to shiver violently in the cold wind outside.
He was only wearing a thin yellow hoodie today. The moment the gale hit, he felt freezing cold.
Why did it suddenly turn cold? The weather forecast didn’t say the temperature would drop today.
Su Tang put on his hood and shrank his neck, trotting all the way downstairs to find his Little White in the sea of vehicles at the parking lot. Finally done with exams, physically and mentally exhausted, all he wanted to do was rush home, lie down like a corpse, and do absolutely nothing.
He listened to music as he drove home. Halfway there, Ye Chiyu called. Su Tang freed a hand to answer, and the Alpha’s pleasant voice came through the earphones.
“Tangtang, finished with exams?”
Ye Chiyu, having specially paused his meeting, stood in the empty pantry checking the time on his watch, speaking gently.
In the conference room, the department heads looked at each other, all wondering if there was something wrong with their speeches that caused the CEO to halt the meeting abruptly. They sat on pins and needles.
The cold wind was making him shake, but Su Tang couldn’t suppress the excitement of finishing exams. He replied happily, “Yes, Mr. Ye! I’m finally done! I’m finally liberated, hahaha!”
“You worked hard,” Ye Chiyu laughed. Exam month had really worn his little friend out.
“Now that exams are over, rest well at home for a few days to relax. I’m almost done here at the company too. I’ll come home to pick you up tonight, and we’ll go out for dinner to celebrate the end of exams.”
Su Tang agreed without thinking, then urged Mr. Ye to get back to work and not worry about him.
After hanging up, Ye Chiyu returned to the conference room. He sat in the main seat, his face cold and his expression serious.
“Continue.”
The icy voice, void of any warmth, rang out in the quiet room. The Finance Department head, who had been interrupted halfway, quickly stood up, wiped away nonexistent sweat, and continued reporting on the financial status of the Ye Group and its subsidiaries for the last quarter.
Qi Yuan, taking meeting minutes, stole a glance at his boss. He felt that internally, the CEO must be beaming with pride.
After all, even when busy enough to fly, the CEO still stared at the Madam’s exam schedule countless times a day. Even Qi Yuan knew the Madam finished exams today; the CEO definitely couldn’t wait to go home and be affectionate with him.
At a little past six, Ye Chiyu returned home.
Su Tang’s textbooks were tossed carelessly on the coffee table in the living room. Ye Chiyu chuckled softly. He called out twice, but seeing no one come out, he went directly upstairs to find him.
As soon as he entered the room, he saw the little guy lying on the bed. The room was filled with the familiar scent of Green Tea pheromones.
Ye Chiyu involuntarily lightened his steps. Only when he got close did he realize his Omega was curled into a ball on the bed, his forehead covered in a cold sweat, burying himself in the pillow and panting in distress.
Ye Chiyu reached out to touch the little guy’s forehead. It was burning hot.
