Chapter 14: See You at Eight Tonight
Liang Yuhang looked at Mu Feng.
He had always felt that engaging in verbal battles was meaningless, but at this moment, this kid seemed determined to win back some face for him by saying something like that.
It was childish.
But inexplicably, it felt quite good.
The only Teacher Liang. Was that what he meant?
“It means you are the only Teacher Liang.”
Mu Feng seemed to hear the answer in his heart and gave an affirmative reply.
Liang Jingyi froze for a few seconds, looking thoughtful. “Kind of thrilling.”
The latent gene for plunder in his bones was acting up again; he wanted to snatch away even the loyal student Liang Yuhang had brought along.
He said, “My brother has a surgery this afternoon. I’ve seen your grades—how about I tutor you?”
Zhou Tiantian felt the sky falling. He pointed at himself. “What about me?”
Liang Jingyi said, “You can listen in, but the focus will be on tutoring…”
He paused, narrowed his eyes slightly, looked at the student badge on Mu Feng’s chest, and read the name out: “Mu Feng.”
Mu Feng felt that having his name pass through that mouth made it feel dirty.
“I have questions to do this afternoon. Teacher Liang has already assigned me homework.”
“Then tonight—”
“Tonight I have to let him check it and correct my errors. Right, Teacher Liang?” Mu Feng interrupted quickly.
Mu Feng actually wasn’t sure if Liang Yuhang was truly free tonight, but subconsciously, he wanted to call for help, so he looked straight at him.
For some reason, Liang Yuhang thought of Mumu again.
Just a second ago, it was baring its fangs at strangers, but the moment he turned to leave, it shook the little bell on its neck and followed him step by step.
Timid, yet brave.
Liang Yuhang felt the sound of that bell was very familiar, as if he had heard it in a dream.
So, his heart softened, and he brought home the abandoned cat that had been wandering the hospital entrance for who knew how long.
And at this moment, Mu Feng was looking at him with the same eyes, as if afraid he would be thrown out.
Liang Yuhang spoke, putting him at ease. “Eight o’clock tonight. I’ll give you the passcode for the top floor.”
Jiang Yuan muttered in a low voice, What kind of homework needs to be done at night? Are these two up to something right under my nose again?
But the atmosphere was tense, and his leg had just been kicked by Lu Zhuo to signal him to shut up, so he didn’t dare make a sound.
Mu Feng smiled and replied, “Okay, I won’t be late.”
Liang Jingyi suspected his brother had fed this kid some bewitching potion. Finding such a cold teacher with a toxic tongue—was he a masochist?
He laughed out of anger, putting on a facade of tolerance and generosity. “It doesn’t matter. Then tomorrow, or the day after, you can find me anytime.”
“Liang…” Mu Feng thought about the address in his mind. “Zhou Tiantian’s Junior Mentor, we have an exam in three days. If you are professional enough, and since you sound like you have plenty of time, please spend your energy tutoring Tiantian. He is very eager to learn. Don’t disappoint him. Act like a decent human being.”
Liang Jingyi: “…………”
It was the first time Jiang Yuan realized Mu Feng’s attack power could be this strong.
If it weren’t for the suppression bracelet he was wearing, and the 100% certainty that he was an Omega, Jiang Yuan would have thought he was emitting an S-class Alpha aura.
Damn, I’ve been reading too many books lately, my head is spinning.
Jiang Yuan propped up his head and shook it, feeling like it was full of water.
Liang Yuhang stood up and buttoned his open jacket. “I’m leaving first.”
Mu Feng strode after him, running out. Having reached a less crowded corridor, he called out to him, “Teacher Liang.”
“Something else?” Liang Yuhang turned back.
Mu Feng reached out and slipped a tube of nutrient solution into the pocket of his white lab coat. “I saw you didn’t eat much. I mixed this nutrient solution myself; it tastes better than the ones on the market.”
“You carry this with you?”
“Mn, afraid I’ll faint halfway through studying.” Mu Feng’s smiling eyes curved. “Don’t worry, no poison.”
Liang Yuhang nodded slightly. “Thank you.”
He strode to the elevator, swiped his card, and entered. The time it took to reach the top floor was long, so he took out the cold glass tube, unscrewed it, and took a sip.
There was almost no food Liang Yuhang liked; lychees were an exception. This small preference was something even his parents probably wouldn’t notice.
Most nutrient solutions on the market were bland and awful, serving only to stave off hunger, but this one from Mu Feng was different.
It was lychee flavored.
Liang Yuhang thought for a moment and decided to return the favor, so he sent a message to 0717, asking it to deliver medicine to Mu Feng.
“What did you go find him for again?” Jiang Yuan guarded against Mu Feng strictly upon his return.
“Don’t be so paranoid.” Mu Feng was truly exasperated. “I just asked him two questions.”
“Liar. I saw you stuffing something into his pocket.” Jiang Yuan sucked in a breath of cold air. “You wouldn’t be giving him condoms during such a busy exam prep period, would you?”
Mu Feng: “……………”
I wish. If he handed those over, he’d probably be kicked out of the base by Liang Yuhang in 0.1 seconds.
Seeing his silence, Jiang Yuan took silence for admission and lowered his voice. “Tonight, are you just going to… deliver yourself to him? Are you crazy?”
Mu Feng was speechless. “Am I that kind of person? Really, no.”
Jiang Yuan scrutinized him again, then nodded. “Looks like it.”
“I even swore a toxic oath.”
“I maintain reasonable suspicion toward you.” Jiang Yuan stared at him. “I’m watching you forever.”
“What are you chatting about?” Liang Jingyi stood to the side, watching them mutter.
“Scared me to death! You haven’t left yet?” Jiang Yuan hated every single person in the Liang family equally—one cold, one crazy; neither was normal.
Liang Jingyi raised a hand to touch his face. “Why does it seem like you all have a problem with me? What did I do?”
“Dunno, probably just a clash of auras,” Jiang Yuan frowned and said. “Also, your student Zhou Tiantian pissed me off all day. I’m taking my anger out on you. Is that excessive?”
Liang Jingyi nodded. “Then let me make it up to you. I’ll take you guys out to play tonight, how about it?”
As soon as the words fell, Lu Zhuo spoke up. “That won’t be necessary. Little Jiang is grounded. Don’t lead him astray.”
Liang Jingyi realized that, aside from the Green Hair looking at him with shining eyes, he seemed to have been verbally abused by everyone’s gaze.
Was his face that annoying?
Didn’t he look quite like Liang Yuhang? Why was the treatment so different? Spooky.
Mu Feng dragged Jiang Yuan back to the study room. The latter couldn’t sit still at all—drinking water, listening to music, drawing turtles on paper—until he saw 0717 approaching.
“Hey, isn’t that Liang Yuhang’s little robot?” Jiang Yuan poked Mu Feng’s arm with his pen.
Mu Feng, who was seriously reading questions, finally looked up. “It really is. Is it here to supervise my studying?”
“Then Liang Yuhang is too perverted.” Jiang Yuan upheld his sixth sense. “He really is a pervert with super strong controlling desires.”
“Hello, Mr. Mu Feng.” 0717 was taking a nap and was very unhappy about being summoned. Its entire tone was filled with passive-aggressiveness. “I am here to deliver a thoughtful little service to you.”
“Did you catch a virus?” Mu Feng shook its round head. “Why do you sound more and more like an NPC?”
“I am an NPC.”
As 0717 spoke, it pulled something out of its pocket. “This is the blood-circulation and bruise-relief ointment Mr. Liang sent you. Please apply it evenly to the affected area and rub it in. Wish you a speedy recovery.”
“Affected area? Apply? Ointment?!!!!” Jiang Yuan’s voice went higher with every word. “He… You… No way…”
Mu Feng: “………………It’s not what you think.”
Mu Feng reached out and covered his mouth.
0717 stretched its neck, revealing an inquisitive expression. “What does ‘get laid’ mean?”
“It means eating more vegetables to grow strong.” Mu Feng’s mouth twitched. “You guy with a brain full of yellow trash, don’t lead the robot astray.”
0717 was very rigorous: “According to search data, the context here is more likely that you and Mr. Liang Yuhang engaged in some intense behavior between an Alpha and an Omega. Wow, I got the tea.”
Its eyes magnified several times, making its head look even bigger.
Mu Feng: “………”
He really couldn’t wash this clean even if he jumped into the galaxy.
Who would have thought that one day he would be the subject of dirty rumors with Liang Yuhang?
“No. We are innocent.” Mu Feng decided to stick to that excuse to the end. “Little Jiang, I didn’t want to say it, but why do you sleepwalk? You beat me up last night, and it still hurts.”
“Ah? Me?” Jiang Yuan pointed at himself, looking blank.
“If not you, who else? I should have recorded it for you.”
Mu Feng spoke with great conviction. “I didn’t want to tell you and make you feel guilty, but you keep rambling and insisting on pinning things that didn’t happen on me. I’m very disappointed in you.”
Jiang Yuan’s mind was blank. He really had no memory of it. Was he that ferocious at night?
Damn it. He actually hit Mu Feng. He wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight; he wanted to sit up and slap himself twice.
“Reflect on yourself properly. Don’t talk anymore, it’s noisy.” Mu Feng quickly snatched the ointment and commanded, “0717, you go too. This is a military base, what are you wandering around for? Aren’t you afraid of being dismantled for scrap metal?”
0717 opened its mouth, let out a whimper, turned around, and rolled away.
The world finally became quiet.
Mu Feng studied until nightfall, then took his workbook upstairs. This was his second time stepping into Liang Yuhang’s private territory from a human perspective.
The Executive Suite on the top floor was completely different from the student dorms; it offered a completely private space and was very quiet.
Mu Feng raised his hand and knocked on the door.
Three seconds later, the door opened from the inside. Liang Yuhang had already changed into very homey loungewear. His hair, usually neat during work, was messy and casual, with some strands blocking his eyes. He looked more like a senior who had just finished playing ball on campus.
Looking up again, Mu Feng slowly uttered two words: “Holy sh*t.”
Liang Yuhang: ?
Mu Feng: “……………”
Liang Yuhang watched the other’s face turn from pale to pale pink in a second, then continue to flush red, until even his earlobes started bleeding red.
With such a loose tongue, he could actually be shy.
If he teased him again, would he be scared away?
“No, Jiang Yuan was talking nonsense.” Mu Feng opened his mouth, panic-stricken, reaching out to cover the other’s ears. “Don’t listen, it’s all rumors.”
He was really going to dismantle 0717 into a pile of spare parts, soak them in formalin, and turn it into a specimen that couldn’t speak.
Liang Yuhang had his face cupped by Mu Feng’s hands. His gaze moved slowly down to Mu Feng’s waist. His tone was very faint; it was impossible to tell if he was angry.
But he seemed to be smiling.
“Mu Feng, is this how you advertise me outside?”
