After the Marriage Agreement, I Was Entangled by a Gentle CEO chapter 15

Chapter 15: Injury

Shen Zhouyue and Yu Tingzhou parted on bad terms.

He went to the changing room, simply rinsed his body, changed his clothes, and lost all interest in playing.

He sat on the beach, staring at the sea horizon in the distance, dazing off.

“I heard what you and Tingzhou just said. You and he are fake.”

Shen Zhouyue’s train of thought was interrupted. He frowned and looked at Liu Xuanting beside him.

“Mr. Liu must have misheard.”

“Things between Tingzhou and me are naturally real. If Mr. Liu has doubts, you can go ask Tingzhou.”

Shen Zhouyue didn’t wait for Liu Xuanting to answer. He stood up silently, moving away from Liu Xuanting.

“Stand still!”

Shen Zhouyue turned a deaf ear, continuing to walk forward, truly too lazy to pay attention to Liu Xuanting.

Liu Xuanting walked quickly in front of Shen Zhouyue, blocking his path.

Shen Zhouyue simply turned around and walked in the opposite direction.

“I said stop! Or else I’ll tell Tingzhou that you were chatting with someone named An’an, and your tone was especially intimate.”

Shen Zhouyue’s only weakness was An’an.

Hearing Liu Xuanting’s words, he stopped immediately.

I can’t let them know An’an’s identity…

Right now, Liu Xuanting obviously thinks the same as Yu Tingzhou, mistaking An’an for my ex-partner. Maybe I can solidify this idea!

Shen Zhouyue was calculating how to do this perfectly, momentarily ignoring Liu Xuanting standing in front of him.

Liu Xuanting came from a wealthy family and had been spoiled since childhood. At school, classmates protected him and surrounded him because of his delicate looks. He had never been ignored like this.

Seeing Shen Zhouyue’s attitude, he became angry instantly.

He pushed Shen Zhouyue directly.

The beach already had many granules and hard objects washed up from the sea.

In his distracted state, Shen Zhouyue didn’t notice his surroundings and fell straight onto his bottom.

When his hand braced against the ground, it was cut by a sharp object, and blood immediately flowed out.

“Xuanting, what are you doing?”

Yu Tingzhou’s urgent and confused voice came from behind. Immediately after, Shen Zhouyue felt a strong force pulling him up from the ground.

The next second, his hand was held in Yu Tingzhou’s.

“Why did you push Zhouyue?”

The wound on his hand was very long, and there was some sand embedded in it. Shen Zhouyue felt a piercing pain spreading from his palm.

Yu Tingzhou didn’t care to listen to Liu Xuanting’s explanation. He pulled Shen Zhouyue directly to a nearby tap to rinse the wound on his palm.

The blood and sand in the wound were washed away by the water, but new blood gushed out from the wound endlessly.

There was no pharmacy nearby, let alone a hospital.

With a dark face, Yu Tingzhou tore his clean shirt into strips and tied them tightly around the wound to stop the bleeding.

The others noticed the situation here and walked over, seeing beads of blood constantly emerging from Shen Zhouyue’s palm.

Fang Mo’s family were doctors. Seeing Shen Zhouyue like this, he had a guess and couldn’t help asking, “Does he have a coagulation dysfunction?”

“Doing this won’t work. Get the car. Go to the hospital immediately.”

Liu Xuanting didn’t expect things to be this serious. He froze.

There was a hospital about twenty kilometers from the beach.

The doctor examined Shen Zhouyue, then frowned and asked, “This is a congenital problem. You should know about it. Have you undergone treatment?”

“My problem isn’t serious; I just need to stop the bleeding.”

Shen Zhouyue answered the doctor’s question lightly.

The others didn’t understand medicine, so they didn’t say much, but Fang Mo kept frowning, obviously not believing his words.

The doctor gave Shen Zhouyue a detailed examination and asked for a lot of information before treating the wound.

A thick layer of medicine was applied to the wound. Shen Zhouyue didn’t know what the medicine did, but the cooling sensation alleviated the pain, which made him very satisfied.

A few minutes later, no red liquid flowed from the wound area; the bleeding had stopped.

After the bleeding stopped, the doctor wrapped Shen Zhouyue’s wound with gauze to ensure no secondary injury would occur.

Shen Zhouyue’s hand was wrapped until it was swollen a full circle larger. He moved his fingers and found his movement was somewhat restricted.

Fortunately, it was his left hand, so daily life wouldn’t be affected too much.

Shen Zhouyue breathed a sigh of relief.

Looking at Shen Zhouyue’s face, which was obviously much paler than the others, the doctor couldn’t help but say, “You had a surgery before, and your health isn’t good to begin with. If this happens a few more times, I’m afraid…”

Shen Zhouyue smiled and interrupted the doctor, “I know my own body. Thank you, Doctor.”

Worried the doctor would reveal too much information that Yu Tingzhou might guess something from, he hurriedly got up from the chair and said to the doctor, “Since the wound has been treated, we’ll leave first.”

Yu Tingzhou felt Shen Zhouyue’s attitude was a bit strange. Just as he was about to ask, he saw Shen Zhouyue walk directly toward the door and turn back to ask, “Aren’t you coming?”

Yu Tingzhou was distracted and immediately followed, forgetting his suspicion.

Outside the door, Liu Xuanting was pacing back and forth in panic.

As soon as the doctor’s office door opened, Liu Xuanting’s gaze glued onto Yu Tingzhou.

He looked at Yu Tingzhou and explained, “Tingzhou, I didn’t know he would fall… I… I didn’t mean to…”

He was so anxious his eyes were red, looking as if he would shed tears at any moment.

“So why did you push Zhouyue?”

“You say you didn’t know he would fall, but why did you push him!”

Yu Tingzhou had always thought Shen Zhouyue got along well with his friends; he never imagined such a thing would happen.

He suppressed the anger in his heart, trying his best to remain calm.

“I also really want to know where exactly I offended Mr. Liu, making him look for trouble with me repeatedly, even threatening me by saying my marriage with Tingzhou is an agreement.”

Shen Zhouyue looked pale. Even though his tone didn’t fluctuate much when he spoke, it revealed a pitiful quality.

The look Yu Tingzhou gave Liu Xuanting became increasingly unfriendly.

Xu You and the others also looked at Liu Xuanting, not understanding why he did this.

Stared at by everyone’s suspicious and questioning gazes, Liu Xuanting’s face became even paler, looking comparable to Shen Zhouyue, who had lost too much blood.

“I… I…”

He stammered, not knowing how to explain.

Could he say he liked Yu Tingzhou, so he couldn’t stand seeing someone else beside him?

If he said that reason, it would be difficult for him to even see Tingzhou in the future…

In the eyes of others, Liu Xuanting’s appearance was synonymous with a guilty conscience.

“Xuanting, how could you do this!”

Seeing Liu Xuanting’s pitiful state, Fang Mo sighed helplessly and explained for him, “It’s not your first time knowing Xuanting. He has a straightforward temper and is prone to impulsiveness sometimes, but he actually has no bad intentions.”

“This matter should just be a misunderstanding. I apologize to Mr. Shen on Xuanting’s behalf.”

Shen Zhouyue didn’t understand why Fang Mo was apologizing for Liu Xuanting, but considering Fang Mo had saved him, he didn’t add fuel to the fire. Instead, he remained silent, standing aside, planning to see how Yu Tingzhou would handle the situation.

“Fang Mo, what does this have to do with you? Why are you apologizing for Xuanting?”

Xu You spoke up with incomprehension, breaking the somewhat stagnant atmosphere in the hospital corridor.

He was carefree and didn’t see the undercurrents between the few of them at all. When he spoke, he didn’t consider other people’s thoughts.

Liu Xuanting’s face turned green then purple; it looked very colorful.

“I’m sorry, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have pushed you.”

Shen Zhouyue didn’t know out of what consideration Liu Xuanting apologized to him, but he had to say, after hearing the apology, his mood improved a lot.

He said magnanimously, “It’s okay. I know Mr. Liu didn’t mean it.”

“If it weren’t for my health issues, this would actually be a very small matter.”

Yu Tingzhou’s other friend, Qian Zimo, seeing the atmosphere was so awkward, quickly spoke up, “It’s getting late, let’s go back first!”

“I remember Tingzhou has to meet Mike tomorrow to discuss cooperation, right?”

Actually, it was only three in the afternoon; it wasn’t late at all.

But everyone’s mood wasn’t great right now. Continuing to gather would only lead to arguments, so it was better to go back to their respective places to avoid hurting their friendship.

Qian Zimo had a gentle personality and was very good at considering others.

When chatting before, he mostly acted as a listener and rarely spoke.

But if he proposed any opinion, Yu Tingzhou and the others mostly followed it.

So they left separately.

When they arrived at the hotel, Yu Tingzhou looked at Shen Zhouyue with guilt. “Sorry. If I knew Xuanting would do this, I wouldn’t have let you be alone with him.”

Looking at Yu Tingzhou like this, Shen Zhouyue couldn’t suppress his curiosity and asked, “Can’t you tell that Liu Xuanting likes you?”

Shen Zhouyue’s words stunned Yu Tingzhou.

“Are you joking with me?”

Yu Tingzhou came back to his senses and laughed. “Xuanting is my friend; how could he possibly like me?”

“If he doesn’t like you, why does he keep targeting me?”

Looking at Yu Tingzhou’s disbelief, Shen Zhouyue stated some conclusions he had drawn from his contacts with Liu Xuanting these few times.

“Fang Mo takes great care of Liu Xuanting, but no matter what happens, Liu Xuanting likes to revolve around you. Seeing you go snorkeling, he also wanted to snorkel, and even eavesdropped on our conversation.”

“Just now at the hospital, he only cared about your thoughts alone. If you were indifferent about this matter, he wouldn’t have apologized at all.”

Yu Tingzhou had never paid attention to these things.

He frowned, saying with a headache, “No way!”

“We are friends!”

Shen Zhouyue didn’t continue. Instead, he left some time and space for Yu Tingzhou to properly digest what he had just said.
