Chapter 64: As You Command, My Cizhu
Asilan picked the cherry off the cake and held it out to her.
Su Miantang opened her mouth to take it.
“Then according to your memory, is the little tiger better, or am I?”
“?”
What kind of question was that? Weren’t the little tiger and he the same person? Seeing how serious he was, Su Miantang gave it some careful thought.
They were both quite good.
However, she had spent more time with the little tiger.
“The little tiger.”
With a ‘whoosh’, the cherry that was about to enter her mouth flew away.
Asilan withdrew his hand, his cool expression turning a bit displeased. “Is it really that good, for you to still be so obsessed with it now?”
Su Miantang inexplicably thought of the Xiongxing who had just been thrown off the balcony. Fearing that she might be the next lucky winner, she quickly changed her tune. “You, you are better.”
“Susu really is one to love the new and loathe the old. You forgot about it so quickly.”
Su Miantang: “They’re both good.”
“Fickle.”
“…”
(Heh, he’s just intentionally trying to keep me from eating, isn’t he?)
Su Miantang put down her fork.
“I’m not eating anymore. I’m full.”
Full?
Asilan looked thoughtfully at her flat little stomach. “Really?”
“Really. I ate a lot. You eat; I’ll grill the meat for you!”
“Eat a bit more. With such a small stomach, how will you bear tiger cubs in the future?”
Su Miantang: “…” (Don’t think just because you’re a tiger you can keep saying such beastly things!)
After the two finished their meal, they set off for their next destination.
Bingxue Xingqiu.
A vast, endless expanse of white glaciers and snow covered this sprawling continent and ocean year-round, creating countless unique landscapes. Great numbers of adorable penguins, charming seals, and sea lions lived here, along with many birds that braved the cold to hunt krill…
Su Miantang was deeply captivated by the unique scenery.
In the past, she had always wanted to follow a research team to Antarctica to experience such a singular natural landscape, but she never had the opportunity.
She hadn’t expected Lanlan to bring her here now. Moreover, this was an entire planet, far larger than Antarctica.
“Ah—”
She couldn’t wait to run toward the bizarre, azure ice caves. She frantically rua-ed the smooth, black-and-white fur of the Emperor Penguins, scooped up krill to feed the Snow Petrels that flew onto her, and even saw little white flowers with pale yellow centers.
Could this be the Xiannvmu that Enzuo said was his favorite?
Imagining a fluffy, pure white Snow Wolf running across the polar glaciers with a flower in its mouth was actually quite adorable!
She was just about to pick one when she saw something even more amazing.
Asilan watched her lively figure with a slight smile. He broke off an icicle, intending to make her an ice flower, but before he could activate his Zhandouli, he heard her sharp cry for help.
“Aaah!!!”
“Don’t chase me! Don’t chase me! Don’t chase me!”
“Lanlan, come save me—”
He turned around immediately and saw… a massive, majestic line of Emperor Penguins with their heads craned, chasing after the little Cixing, looking as if they were about to peck her backside.
And in her arms, she was clutching a smooth, white penguin egg.
Heh.
He let out a low laugh, looking incredibly handsome, but it made Su Miantang furious. “You’re still laughing! Come and save me!”
“Susu, why are you stealing someone else’s child? If you like them, I can give you one.”
“I didn’t!”
She just thought the egg looked novel and went up to touch it. She hadn’t expected to be mistaken for an egg thief by a group of penguins, who started chasing her without a second thought.
The worst part was that she couldn’t explain herself, and she couldn’t put it down either, or it would shatter instantly.
“Spread your wings and take me for a flight!”
“But…” Asilan hesitated. “I’m tired now. I have no strength.”
Su Miantang: “?” (This man, who faces thousands of troops on the battlefield and can even withstand miasma bombs, is telling me he has no strength?)
“Stop joking around! They’re about to peck my butt!”
“If they peck you, I’ll rub it for you.”
“You…” Su Miantang gritted her teeth, panting. “Lanlan, you wicked tiger!”
Asilan‘s smile grew even more excessive. “Perhaps if you call me something nice, I’ll come to your rescue.”
“Call you what? What? I’ll call you anything! Just come save me!”
With a ‘huo’ sound, the man spread his wings and flew to her side. He reached out and lightly lifted a strand of her flowing, soft hair, his seductive voice right at her ear. “Call me… what I want to hear.”
What he wanted to hear?
Su Miantang’s mind immediately flashed back to what he had said in her house—no, in the birdcage.
“Shangjiang?”
“No.”
“Zhanshen big… big brother?”
She forced the words out, suppressing her shame.
“Not that either.”
Then wasn’t there only one thing left?
Shameless!
Taking advantage of her peril!
She would never yield to his tyrannical power!
“Aaah—”
As she was thinking, a sharp pain suddenly came from her backside. It felt as if a penguin had truly pecked her. Terrified, her face went pale, and she didn’t care about anything else. She shouted at the top of her lungs.
“Xiongjun!”
“Xiongjun, Xiongjun, save me!”
As soon as she spoke, Asilan stooped down with satisfaction and swept her up into his arms.
“As you command, my Cizhu.”
“Waaah, that was too scary!”
“My butt, it felt like a penguin really pecked it!”
“I’ll rub it for you.”
“What use is rubbing it? It’s all your fault for not saving me just now!”
As Su Miantang complained, she looked down at the penguin colony with lingering fear, only to discover… they had already stopped. They were looking on from afar, tens of thousands of meters away. It was impossible for them to have pecked her.
So, the pain she just felt on her butt was…?
She slowly looked at the flaming wing-tip of a certain tiger. In an instant, she realized what had happened. She rained a flurry of punches onto his chest.
“Lanlan!”
“You’re too despicable!”
“You actually pretended to be a penguin to scare me!”
“Hahaha~”
The man, being hammered by her, laughed even more enchantingly.
“The way Susu just called me Xiongjun was truly pleasant to the ear.”
“I didn’t! I didn’t! Don’t go making things up!”
She turned her head away, trying to deny it, but across the vast glacial continent, the echoes of her calling him ‘Xiongjun‘ over and over still rang out. The tone of longing in her voice was enough to make anyone’s face turn red.
The two played and teased each other until nightfall.
Asilan found a perfect spot to watch the aurora.
“It’s so beautiful…” Su Miantang looked up, staring blankly at the hazy, mysterious, and colorful light in the sky. “Lanlan, legend has it that the aurora is the incarnation of Dawn, the daughter of the Sun God and Moon Goddess. If you pray to her, all your beautiful wishes will come true.”
“Is that so?”
Asilan expressed his doubt. How come he had never heard of this? Including the terms she used.
“Of course!”
“This is a rare opportunity. If you don’t believe me, I’ll make a wish myself.”
The young girl crossed her hands over her chest and prayed devoutly to the aurora.
Asilan watched her and slowly closed his eyes as well.
Before meeting her, he never believed in gods.
“Didn’t you say you didn’t believe? Why did you make a wish too?” Su Miantang looked at a certain tsundere tiger who was once again saying one thing but doing another. “What did you wish for?”
