Chapter 114
Xiao Xiao shot back, “My ass!”
If the Alpha hadn’t been drinking, Xiao Xiao definitely wouldn’t have stood a chance. But the Alpha before him was drunk, so even though Xiao Xiao wasn’t as strong, he could still launch a sneak attack.
Seizing the opportunity while the Alpha was off guard, Xiao Xiao kicked him square in the crotch. The pain made the Alpha instantly let go, and he pitched forward, his head landing right in the toilet bowl.
Fearing the man would get up and come after him, Xiao Xiao quickly turned and fled.
He ran back to Gu Qian’s side, who had just finished his conversation. Seeing him run back, panting, Gu Qian asked with a puzzled look, “What’s wrong?”
Xiao Xiao paused for a moment, then shook his head lightly. “It’s nothing.”
To him, what just happened was just a minor incident. He could handle it himself, so there was no need to trouble Gu Qian.
But even if he didn’t say anything, Gu Qian had already guessed.
There was a strong scent of Alpha pheromones on Xiao Xiao.
Looking at Xiao Xiao’s expression, Gu Qian smiled. “Did someone give you trouble?”
Xiao Xiao didn’t expect Gu Qian to find out, let alone be so blunt about it.
He shook his head and said in a small voice, “No.”
The guy didn’t succeed.
Gu Qian said with a sigh, “Alright. The client is secured. Do you want to get something to eat? If not, we’ll head back.”
It was a real shame that Xiao Xiao hadn’t been bullied.
Gu Qian found it a bit of a pity. If Xiao Xiao had been bullied, he could have taken advantage of the situation—avenging him on one hand, while earning his favor by showing that he didn’t mind and would still treat him well.
What a perfect plan.
But then again, he thought, if Xiao Xiao were truly bullied by someone else, he wouldn’t be able to stand it.
He would absolutely never let that person get away with it!
So conflicted.
Gu Qian’s eyes held a hint of resignation as he waited for Xiao Xiao’s answer.
After the incident in the bathroom, Xiao Xiao had no appetite. He wanted to say he wasn’t hungry and just go back, but when he saw the beautifully presented food in the dining area, he hesitated. Finally, he said resignedly, “Let’s eat something before we go.”
After all, the food here was something he couldn’t normally afford. Since he had the chance, why not eat before leaving?
It wasn’t worth it to toil all night and then skip a meal just because of that asshole in the bathroom.
Gu Qian smiled. “Go ahead, I’ll wait for you.”
Xiao Xiao nodded and went to get some small cakes and pastries. He sat down, eating and sipping juice.
“Delicious!”
Xiao Xiao’s eyes lit up instantly. He took out his phone, wanting to take a picture to send to An Le and ask if he wanted him to bring some back.
But as soon as he pulled out his phone, he remembered that An Le didn’t need that anymore.
So, he put his phone back in his pocket and continued to eat alone.
Gu Qian observed Xiao Xiao while also keeping an eye on the Alphas coming from the direction of the bathroom.
On the surface, Xiao Xiao looked pretty and sometimes acted obediently, but the moment he opened his mouth, you knew he was actually a little wildcat.
Still, it would be easy for an Alpha to take advantage of him; after all, a Beta couldn’t fight off an Alpha.
But from the looks of it, the other party clearly hadn’t gotten the upper hand, which meant that Alpha wasn’t sober and had given Xiao Xiao a chance to fight back.
Therefore, it must have been a drunk Alpha.
Gu Qian stared intently in that direction. Finally, he saw an Alpha emerge with a foul expression on his face.
The Alpha’s clothes were soaked, his suit jacket was gone, and his hair was also damp. Moreover, he seemed to have sobered up.
Now, the Alpha was angrily searching for someone in the crowd.
“That’s him. Chen Er Shao.”
Gu Qian stood up, picking up his glass of wine from the table, and walked over.
Xiao Xiao, who was eating dessert with his head down, didn’t see the Alpha he had kicked into the toilet walking toward him.
By the time he looked up, he saw Gu Qian standing there, holding a glass of wine and seemingly talking to someone.
Gu Qian: “Second Young Master Chen, what happened? You look a mess.”
Chen Er glanced at Gu Qian. He had just been kicked in the balls by a brazen Beta in the bathroom and, because he was drunk and unsteady, had plunged headfirst into the toilet. He had been rinsing his head under the faucet for a long time, but he still felt like he couldn’t get the smell off.
He was seething with rage and didn’t want to give anyone face.
But seeing it was Gu Qian, he couldn’t act on his anger. Gu Qian wasn’t just a businessman; his family was also involved in politics. He could afford to offend anyone but Gu Qian.
So, Chen Er did his best to rein in his temper. “It’s nothing. I just slipped and fell. Thank you for your concern, President Gu.”
“Are you sure?” Gu Qian smiled politely. “But you can’t stay like this. Would you like to change into a fresh set of clothes? I happen to have a spare.”
Chen Er glanced resentfully at the Beta who was still eating. He wanted to go over there immediately, but he couldn’t very well refuse Gu Qian’s offer, and he really was in no state to be seen like this.
Worried the Beta might run off, he grabbed a nearby waiter and hissed, “Go and keep an eye on that Beta. If he’s gone when I get back, you know what will happen!”
After that, he turned back to Gu Qian with a forced smile and said stiffly, “Then I’ll have to trouble you, President Gu.”
Then, Gu Qian put down his wine glass and led Chen Er out of the reception.
As they walked, Gu Qian asked teasingly, “Second Young Master Chen, did you have some sort of romantic encounter to end up like this?”
“A little wildcat?”
Speaking of romantic encounters, Chen Er Shao sneered. “What encounter? There was a little wildcat, though. A feisty one with sharp claws, not easy to handle.”
Gu Qian feigned curiosity. “Oh, is that so?”
Chen Er Shao: “What else? Even drunk, I wouldn’t have ended up in such a sorry state on my own.”
If it weren’t for that Beta, no matter how plastered he was, he wouldn’t have stuck his head in a toilet.
He’d never been so humiliated in his entire life! He was definitely not letting that Beta go!
Gu Qian: “Well, could you tell me about it, Second Young Master Chen? I’d love to hear the story of this little wildcat.”
“Well…”
He could talk about anything else, but not this. The dignified Second Young Master of the Chen family, kicked in the balls and shoved into a toilet? If word got out, he would bring shame to eighteen generations of his ancestors. How could he ever show his face in their circles again?
Gu Qian: “What’s wrong? Is it hard to talk about?”
“Not really,” Chen Er Shao said, looking troubled. “It’s just that I didn’t even get the upper hand. I just grabbed him a few times, and then… this happened.”
As he spoke, Chen Er Shao pointed to the wet stains on his clothes, trailing off and letting Gu Qian guess the rest.

Seeing that Chen Er Shao hadn’t heard him clearly, Gu Qian ignored his other question, smiled again, and continued to ask, “Which hand did you use to grab the little wildcat?”
This strange question made Chen Er pause for a second. Then, he laughed and looked at his right hand. “My right hand, of course. I’m not a southpaw, so I’d never use my left—AHHHH!”
Before Chen Er could finish his sentence, a blood-curdling scream echoed from the bathroom…
Xiao Xiao was sitting and eating his dessert when a waiter suddenly rushed over to his table.
Xiao Xiao gave the waiter a curious glance. He didn’t know why the man was standing in front of him, but after a moment’s pause, he went back to eating.
But for some reason, he felt like this waiter was constantly watching him. Whether he was eating or getting more food, the waiter followed him, never taking his eyes off him.
Xiao Xiao finally got annoyed. “Why are you following me?”
The waiter broke out in a nervous sweat. “I-I’m not doing anything. You just do your thing, I won’t bother you.”
Xiao Xiao: “But you’re already bothering me by just standing here. I can’t eat with you watching me.”
He didn’t like being watched while he ate, especially when this waiter was following his every move and staring at him relentlessly. How was he supposed to continue eating?
The waiter wiped the sweat from his brow. “I’m sorry, but I really have no choice. Can’t you just ignore me?”
Xiao Xiao paused. “Did someone tell you to watch me?”
The waiter’s eyes lit up. Seeing that he’d been found out, he stopped hiding it and confessed, “Y-Yes. Second Young Master Chen went to change his clothes, but he told me I had to watch you and not let you run away. Otherwise, I’ll…”
The waiter didn’t finish his sentence, but Xiao Xiao already understood. “Chen Er Shao” must be the Alpha he had kicked in the bathroom—why else would he need to change clothes? And now, if he escaped under this waiter’s watch, the man would surely be in deep trouble.
Xiao Xiao’s heart sank.
He instantly lost all desire to eat. Putting down his fork, he went to find Gu Qian.
If it were just him, he definitely wouldn’t have bothered Gu Qian. But now that an innocent stranger was involved, he felt it was better to ask for help.
Besides, Gu Qian was his boss, and he wanted Xiao Xiao to pursue him. So, there was no reason for Gu Qian not to help.
But he searched all around and couldn’t find Gu Qian anywhere.
Puzzled, he took out his phone to call him. Just as he unlocked the screen, he heard a familiar voice ask, “Who are you calling?”
Xiao Xiao looked up and, sure enough, saw Gu Qian standing in front of him with a casual smile.
Xiao Xiao bit his lip and tattled in a low voice, “Boss, someone’s causing trouble for me.”
Gu Qian was holding a handkerchief, carefully wiping water from his fingers one by one. Hearing this, he smiled and asked, “Oh? Who?”
Xiao Xiao shook his head. “I don’t know him. It was in the bathroom earlier. I kicked him, and he accidentally stuck his head in the toilet, so he’s probably really angry and wants revenge. He even got a waiter to watch me. If I run away, that waiter will definitely be in trouble, and I don’t want to involve anyone else.”
Gu Qian: “So?”
Xiao Xiao grabbed Gu Qian’s arm, giving it a little squeeze as he pleaded in a small voice, “Boss, can you help me? Please?”
At a time like this, Gu Qian was the only one who could help him.
Gu Qian actually loved the feeling of Xiao Xiao asking him for help. Even the smile on his face became much more genuine. He asked, “How do you want me to help?”
