“Your personality?”
Xiao Xiao was stunned. He had no idea what Gu Qian meant. They had worked together for two years, and Gu Qian’s personality seemed perfectly fine—great, even. He liked it a lot.
Gu Qian nodded. “That’s right. Can you accept it?”
Xiao Xiao hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “I accept.”
What was there not to accept? He couldn’t be happier.
Gu Qian smiled. “Xiao Xiao, don’t answer so casually. Be serious. I’m really not a good person. Once you’ve provoked me, you’ll never have the chance to escape from my side. You need to think this over. Think it through carefully.”
If Xiao Xiao agreed, he would never let him go, not for the rest of his life. Whether Xiao Xiao loved him, feared him, or hated him, he would keep him by his side.
Perhaps it was the gravity of Gu Qian’s expression that made Xiao Xiao think of what An Le had told him.
An Le had warned him more than once that Gu Qian was not a good person.
Gu Qian himself often said the same thing.

Xiao Xiao asked again, “Then… does it mean you like to bully and play with Omegas? Or Betas?”
Gu Qian smiled. “That’s no different from your last question.”
Xiao Xiao: “…”
He hesitated, then asked, “Well, does it mean you like things like murder and arson? Or you’re part of some kind of gang…”
“Xiao Xiao, everything you just mentioned is illegal!” Gu Qian couldn’t hold back a laugh. He returned to his desk and sat down, saying helplessly, “While I may not be a good person, you don’t have to think of me as that evil. I don’t play with Omegas or Betas, I don’t commit murder or arson, and I have no desire to. You can rest assured on that front.”
Gu Qian’s explanation only confused Xiao Xiao more. If he didn’t play with people’s feelings or commit heinous crimes, then what did “not good” refer to?
The confusion in his eyes was palpable. Gu Qian smiled and said, “I’m an Alpha. You might not be able to handle my possessiveness.”
Xiao Xiao paused for a moment before it clicked. So that’s what Gu Qian meant by “not a good person.”
He instinctively relaxed and said in a small voice, “That’s fine. Besides Le Le, I don’t have any other friends, and definitely no Alpha friends. Your possessiveness won’t have a chance to show itself.”

But the way things were actually unfolding didn’t match any of them.
Being accepted by Gu Qian made him feel like he was floating. He wanted Gu Qian’s attention, his affection. Even if he was very possessive, didn’t that just prove that he was needed again?
Gu Qian’s expression turned serious. “Since you’ve agreed, you can’t go back on your word.”
Xiao Xiao: “I won’t.”
His life had lost its purpose. If there was one thing that could make him throw caution to the wind, he’d take it. Even if he was just being played with and would eventually be abandoned, he accepted it.
Seeing the determination in his eyes, Gu Qian’s mood instantly brightened. He smiled and said, “Come here.”
Xiao Xiao paused, instinctively glancing back at the office door. He walked toward Gu Qian, but as soon as he got close, Gu Qian pulled him into his lap. Before he could even register his surprise, Gu Qian cupped his chin and kissed him.
This was Xiao Xiao’s first kiss, and with an Alpha, no less.

He tilted his head up and saw Gu Qian looking down at him with a smile.

He was about to speak, but before a single sound could escape, Gu Qian’s fingers slipped into his mouth. As they stirred inside, Gu Qian said, “Xiao Xiao, this is our first kiss since we got together. Remember it.”
Xiao Xiao froze.
His tongue was being toyed with by Gu Qian’s fingers. The long, slender digits would occasionally probe toward his throat, making him feel nauseous.
He instinctively grabbed Gu Qian’s hand and, with all his might, pulled it out of his mouth. He then stumbled out of Gu Qian’s lap and stood to the side, his eyes wide with a mixture of shock and anger. He wiped the corner of his mouth where Gu Qian’s saliva had dribbled and said, bewildered, “Why… why did you put your hand… in my mouth?”
Gu Qian looked at him blankly. “I can’t?”
His expression threw Xiao Xiao for a loop. It seemed like, in Gu Qian’s eyes, this was a perfectly normal thing to do. He had never dated an Alpha before, let alone done anything intimate with one.
Could it be… that this is how Alphas treat their partners?
Xiao Xiao’s anger and shock morphed into confusion. He finally said with a flushed face, “I think… I think it’s a little… unhygienic.”
“Is it?” Gu Qian’s face showed a hint of trouble. His little Beta already found this unhygienic. What was he going to do in the future? There were things much thicker than a finger, with a much stronger taste. How would his little Beta handle that?

Xiao Xiao thought for a moment and pulled out the bottle of pheromone neutralizer he had bought before.
Just then, the Omega colleague who had given him the heads-up walked by. Her face instantly paled and she took a few steps back. “Xiao Xiao,” she whispered, “did you succeed?”
Xiao Xiao nodded. “I did. The boss accepted me.”
His colleague’s eyes lit up. “So you’re our boss’s wife now!”
Xiao Xiao smiled shyly and nodded. “I guess so. But I don’t know if it’ll last.”
His colleague smiled. “Don’t be so pessimistic. Of course it’ll last! You have a good temper and you’re a nice person. And President Gu is great too. He’s so kind and doesn’t take advantage of his employees. He’s a rare good boss. You two will definitely make it.”
Gu Qian had a famously good reputation in the company. Everyone wanted to work for him.
Xiao Xiao felt the same way. He smiled. “I hope you’re right.”
With that, he picked up the pheromone neutralizer and was about to spray himself.

Xiao Xiao sat there, stunned. His hand, holding the spray bottle, felt heavy. He couldn’t bring himself to press the nozzle.
