Chapter 12
To be held, and to receive his pheromones?
For an omega who’s been marked, such a promise from an alpha is incredibly tempting.
An Le involuntarily looked up, wanting to look at Lu Heng but hesitant. He only made eye contact for a second before lowering his head again.
Lu Heng: “Don’t you want that?”
An Le didn’t speak.
But he did want it. He wanted Lu Heng’s pheromones, and he wanted Lu Heng to hold him.
This feeling wasn’t from his heart; it surged from his very bones and blood. His body yearned for Lu Heng.
But he couldn’t say it.
An Le remained still. Lu Heng released a hint of his pheromones, far stronger than the lingering scent in the car. It made An Le noticeably calmer, causing him to involuntarily lean closer.
Watching An Le inch closer, Lu Heng suppressed a smile and released more pheromones. When An Le was right beside him, eyes full of dependence, Lu Heng kicked the driver’s seat.
The assistant in front, enduring the discomfort of an alpha’s pheromones, turned on the pheromone purifier, grumbling, “It’s on, it’s on! Working for you is enough to make me want to quit!”
Lu Heng didn’t speak, quietly retracting his pheromones.
An Le was timid and lacked self-confidence. The assistant’s outburst startled him. Before he could understand what was happening, the pheromones that had made him feel so dependent were gone.
He looked at Lu Heng with a confused expression.
Lu Heng: “Tell me, and I’ll give you my pheromones.”
An Le immediately lowered his head. He didn’t want to tell him, but he desperately wanted Lu Heng’s pheromones.
What should he do? What should he do?
His eyes reddened with anxiety, but at that moment, the assistant stopped the car and raised the partition. The spacious interior instantly became cramped, with only him and Lu Heng left.
Tears welled up in An Le’s eyes: “You, you…”
“I’m not forcing you; I’m just waiting.”
Lu Heng’s cold voice was calm and unhurried: “Wait until you’ve figured it out, and then tell me.”
He didn’t believe him.
Tears flowed silently down An Le’s face. Lu Heng was forcing him; he didn’t want to…
“You also know how terrifying my rut is. I need you to help me through it, and I need to marry you, so I absolutely won’t harm you. You need to learn to trust me.”
After saying this, Lu Heng didn’t move, clearly implying that he wouldn’t leave until An Le spoke.
Lu Heng was too forceful.
An Le knew that against someone like him, he had no chance of resisting.
But right now, he didn’t even have the courage to reach for the car door handle.
He opened his mouth, hesitated for a moment, and then whispered, “I… I injected… A… Type A suppressant, those few days after I came of age.”
By only mentioning the injection and not where he got the suppressant, Xiao Xiao would be safe, right?
“Type A suppressant?”
Lu Heng turned his head, surprise in his eyes. Finally, he smiled, “An illegal drug for omegas. After injection, there’s no heat cycle for two years. I thought you were just timid before. Now it seems… I was wrong.”
An Le didn’t speak, silently relieved that Lu Heng didn’t press further about where he got the drug.
At that moment, he felt the car start moving. Lu Heng’s pheromones enveloped him again. He couldn’t help but sniff; it was the scent of white liquor, strong and pleasant.
Being comforted by his alpha, An Le felt a surge of happiness, but the next second, Lu Heng pulled him into a hug. He trembled for a moment before relaxing.
Lu Heng whispered in An Le’s ear, “Your pheromones and a hug, as promised.”
He nodded slightly, wanting to say thank you, but he heard Lu Heng’s cold voice, “Being wary of me won’t do you any good.”
What?
An Le looked up in confusion.
Lu Heng frowned slightly, “Judging by when you ran away from the An family, the effects of the Type A suppressant will wear off in less than three months. You’ll face the heat cycle all omegas experience.”
“You’ve been marked by me. Your first heat cycle will come in two months. If you still have no money and no one but me then, what will you do? What can you do?”

Chapter 13
Lu Heng: “Do you think an omega can just grit their teeth and get through their heat cycle?”
An omega’s heat cycle isn’t unendurable, but it causes significant harm to the body. Most importantly, if an alpha discovers it, the consequences for the omega are dire.
An Le trembled slightly in his embrace, whispering, “No, they can’t.”
Lu Heng’s every word served as a reminder of the consequences of not having him.
This wasn’t hyperbole; the reality would be terrifying.
Lu Heng had checked An Le’s income. Xiao Xiao gave him between a few hundred and a thousand yuan each month.
This wasn’t even enough for a single meal, but it was An Le’s living expenses for the entire month.
An Le lived a very frugal life, economizing to an unimaginable degree. He bought the cheapest suppressant patches every six months, and even the cheapest ones cost over two hundred yuan.
His life was already difficult; if he had to buy suppressant patches every month, his life would only become harder.
Lu Heng: “So, do you have the money to buy suppressant patches?”
An Le shook his head again: “No.”
He had very little money and had to be extremely frugal. He also needed to save money for his eye treatment; he didn’t have extra money to buy suppressant patches every month.
The more An Le thought about it, the more desperate he became. His nose felt sore, and tears fell one by one.
Lu Heng finally smiled, “So, your only option is to marry me. Getting to know each other is just a matter of time, but the prerequisite for all this is that you must learn to trust me.”
“I assure you, I won’t harm you.”
Lu Heng raised his hand in a vow, a hint of a smile in his eyes, looking less ferocious, but still causing An Le fear.
An Le hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded.
He knew that even if he refused, Lu Heng would find other ways to force him to agree. Moreover, he… didn’t dislike Lu Heng.
Lu Heng was fierce and forceful, but he was the first person, besides Xiao Xiao, to be kind to him after his mother’s death.
The car stopped in front of a restaurant. Lu Heng got out first, then, in a gentlemanly manner, bent down to help him out.
An Le had rarely been to such a place. He felt an indescribable fear of unfamiliar surroundings, instinctively leaning against Lu Heng while silently praying that Lu Heng wouldn’t push him away.
Fortunately, Lu Heng not only didn’t push him away but put his arm around his waist: “Follow me, and you won’t have to fear anything. Don’t hide like you used to. You’re a person; you should be living in the sunlight.”
You should be living in the sunlight.
An Le’s eyes instantly reddened. Xiao Xiao had said the same thing. He thought that only Xiao Xiao would ever think that way, but Lu Heng said it too.
He couldn’t tell if he was happy or moved, only that he couldn’t stop crying.
Reporters hiding nearby unintentionally saw this scene. One of them took a picture with their camera, smirking, “Lu Heng used his power to force an omega in broad daylight! We have pictures as evidence. This is going to be a big story…”
“Give it here!”
Before the reporter could react, someone slapped them on the head, making them dizzy. By the time they came to their senses, the camera was gone…
Li Jie, Lu Heng’s assistant, tossed the camera in the air while cursing, “One pretending to be righteous, the other talking nonsense. Damn, what a bunch of trash! Don’t you have any shame?!”
It was lunchtime, and the hall, though quiet, was filled with people.
An Le sat at the table, trembling, his lips bitten pale, as if any more pressure would make his teeth pierce the flesh and draw blood.
A trembling omega is naturally endearing, especially one as beautiful as An Le, with the fragrant scent of peach soda. Seeing him made one recall the taste of biting into a gland.
Any other alpha wouldn’t be able to eat a meal right now, but Lu Heng was exceptionally rational, and he felt that the place for an omega to tremble shouldn’t be a restaurant, but a bed.
As if he didn’t notice An Le’s fear, he pushed the menu towards An Le, coldly saying, “An Le, order your food.”
An Le hadn’t eaten out in years; his mind was blank. Trembling, he randomly pointed at a dish, stammering, “Th-this…”
