Chapter 121
“Okay, I promise you.” Gu Qian’s smile was like a spring breeze. “Don’t be angry with me anymore, alright? Let’s eat first. You don’t have to go back to work this afternoon. I’ll go with you to pack your things, and you can move into my place tonight.”
Xiao Xiao glanced at Gu Qian but said nothing. Although Gu Qian kept apologizing and begging for his forgiveness, he couldn’t shake a feeling of unease. He didn’t really want to move in with him.
He ate his meal without tasting a thing. It wasn’t until they had finished and Gu Qian was pulling him back to the car that he finally spoke up. “Can we wait a little on the moving?”
The car hadn’t started yet. Gu Qian had just buckled his seatbelt and turned to him when he heard the question. “Why?” he asked. “Don’t you like me, Xiao Xiao? Why don’t you want to live with me?”
This wasn’t a question of liking him or not. Xiao Xiao struggled for words. “I just think it’s too fast. We… we need to get to know each other.”
“But we’ve known each other for two years. How could it possibly be fast?” Gu Qian frowned, turning his head fully. “And besides, don’t we know each other well enough?”
Xiao Xiao opened his mouth, but no words came out. Because he felt that even though they had known each other for two years, Gu Qian’s behavior today had completely overturned everything he thought he knew about him.
“Husband.” Xiao Xiao knew that when reasoning failed, showing weakness was the most effective tactic. He grabbed Gu Qian’s hand and called out in a soft voice, “Husband, can you just give me a little time? Please?”
Gu Qian wanted to say no. He had already waited two years; he couldn’t wait any longer. But seeing Xiao Xiao looking at him so softly, calling him husband, he couldn’t bring himself to refuse. In the end, he pulled Xiao Xiao’s hand to his chest, leaned down to kiss it, and whispered, “Alright. Then you can move in tomorrow instead.”
Xiao Xiao pouted. All that soft-spoken pleading, and all he got was a one-day delay? He wasn’t satisfied. He threw himself into Gu Qian’s arms, rubbing his head against his chest. “Tomorrow feels too fast, too,” he whispered. “None of this feels real. Just give me some time to process everything. Please? I’m begging you, husband, I’m begging you…”
“Don’t move. And don’t speak.” Gu Qian held him, taking a deep breath before he spoke again. “Don’t say another word. I’ll give you time.” As he spoke, he lowered his head, inhaling the scent he had left on Xiao Xiao, his voice deep and infatuated. “If you say anything else, I really won’t be able to hold back.”
Xiao Xiao instinctively glanced down and saw the bulge in Gu Qian’s pants. His heart instantly started racing. He didn’t dare move, didn’t dare say another word.
But his stillness and silence didn’t mean he was safe. He could feel Gu Qian bury his face in his neck again, his mouth hovering near his gland. Soon, he felt Gu Qian’s mouth open.
He tensed instinctively, clutching Gu Qian’s shirt, his voice trembling on the verge of tears. “You… you promised me just now. You said you wouldn’t bite me.”
“Don’t worry,” Gu Qian said. “I won’t bite. I’ll just… lick it.”
Gu Qian didn’t lie. Xiao Xiao could feel it; Gu Qian was continuously licking his gland, occasionally opening his mouth to grind his teeth against the skin, but he truly didn’t bite him again.
And yet, this was more torturous than being bitten. A strange sensation he had never felt before washed over Xiao Xiao’s body, and unspeakable changes began to happen. Every move Gu Qian made sent shivers through him. He didn’t know how much time passed before he finally broke down in tears. Only then did Gu Qian seem to snap out of his trance and let him go.
Xiao Xiao sat up, his heart still pounding with fear. He glanced nervously at Gu Qian, not daring to say a word. But his pleading and weakness had worked. When he said he needed time, Gu Qian gave it to him. Not just a day or two, but a week.
However, over the next few days, Xiao Xiao couldn’t muster the energy for anything. Going to work was no longer about work; it was about being called into Gu Qian’s office every day. Gu Qian would kiss him, hold him, and put his hand in his mouth, making him suck on it. Even worse, he would make Xiao Xiao perform for him, making them pleasure each other with their hands.
After a few days of this, Xiao Xiao felt that while Gu Qian was a bit lustful, he hadn’t done anything else that he hated or feared. The strange, unsettling feelings from before had faded. It was just that Gu Qian was too forceful when they did those things, and he couldn’t resist. Other than his slightly unnerving need for control, the other issues didn’t seem so big.
Six days later, in the office.
With red-rimmed eyes, Xiao Xiao helplessly wiped the saliva from the corner of his mouth, then looked down, his trembling hands straightening his clothes.
Gu Qian had been very happy these past few days. “Xiao Xiao, the time I gave you is up. Go home and pack your things today. I’ll come pick you up tomorrow.”
Xiao Xiao hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “Okay.”
“Then go rest for a bit. You’re coming with me to meet a client later.”
“Okay,” Xiao Xiao nodded. He hadn’t gone out to meet clients in a long time and was a little worried he wouldn’t handle it well. But, given his current relationship with Gu Qian, he supposed he didn’t need to worry about that anymore. He went to the restroom to wash his face before preparing for the meeting.
That afternoon, Gu Qian took him to the appointed place on time. The client had also brought two people. The two groups sat down, and the two bosses started to chat. Xiao Xiao was a bit tired and couldn’t help but let out a yawn.
Gu Qian turned his head. “If you’re tired, Xiao Xiao, go rest for a bit. You can also take a walk outside. I’ll call you when I’m done.”
Xiao Xiao instinctively glanced at the client across the table. Although he felt it was inappropriate for him to leave, Gu Qian had already given his approval. He nodded, stood up, apologized to the client, and then walked out.
He couldn’t just go off and rest while on the job. The only real option was to walk around outside to clear his head. He just didn’t expect to run into the same waiter from the party.
“What are you doing here?” Xiao Xiao asked. The young man was still a waiter, just wearing a different uniform. Xiao Xiao frowned. “After I left last time, did Second Young Master Chen give you trouble?”
Hadn’t he told Gu Qian about this? And hadn’t Gu Qian promised to help him? How could this person still have lost his job?
The waiter shook his head. “I originally worked here. Last time was just because the party was short-staffed, so they transferred some of us over. Besides, Second Young Master Chen can’t trouble me anymore.”
Hearing that the waiter hadn’t lost his job because of him, Xiao Xiao felt a wave of relief. But then he heard that Chen couldn’t bother him anymore and instinctively asked, “Why?” He wanted to know how Gu Qian had handled the situation.
The waiter pouted, looked around to make sure no one was listening, and then said, “Second Young Master Chen got beaten up in the bathroom that day. The bones in both his hands were shattered. I heard it was terrifying. Both his hands were turned to mush on the floor.”
Xiao Xiao’s heart lurched. “How is that possible?”
“It’s true, I’m not lying. A lot of the waiters knew about it at the time. He passed out from the pain, and they had to call an ambulance. I don’t know if he had any other injuries.”
Xiao Xiao was stunned. He never imagined that would be Chen’s fate. After a moment, he asked, “Didn’t you say he was some ‘Second Young Master Chen’? If he was hurt that badly, didn’t his family come for revenge?” Whether you were rich or not, if you beat someone that badly, you’d surely be sued. Your reputation would be ruined, you’d have to pay compensation, and the two families would become enemies for life.
At this, the waiter became mysterious again. This time he leaned closer to Xiao Xiao and whispered, “That’s what you don’t know. I heard the guy who beat him up has a very powerful background. Even though Chen was beaten like that, he could only swallow his anger. He didn’t dare go looking for trouble.”
A powerful background?
“Who was it?” Xiao Xiao asked.
The waiter smiled. “Young Master Gu, of course. You were standing with him that day, don’t you remember?”
A buzzing filled Xiao Xiao’s head. He couldn’t speak. The waiter was called away by someone else, leaving him standing there, completely at a loss.
So that’s how Gu Qian had handled Second Young Master Chen? He knew Gu Qian was protecting him, but to do that to someone’s hands… wasn’t that too terrifying? Did Gu Qian have… have violent tendencies?
Xiao Xiao pressed his lips together, wanting to turn back and ask Gu Qian what had really happened, if it was true.
He turned his head and saw Gu Qian standing right behind him.
Gu Qian steadied him. “What’s wrong, Xiao Xiao? Are you not feeling well?”
Xiao Xiao shook his head. He suddenly grabbed Gu Qian’s clothes and asked in a small voice, “Husband, how did you deal with Second Young Master Chen?”
Gu Qian paused. It had been so long. Why was Xiao Xiao bringing this up again? Though he didn’t really want to talk about it, since Xiao Xiao had asked, he gave a vague answer. “I just crippled his hands. Who told him to touch you?”
Hearing those words, Xiao Xiao knew what the waiter had said was true. He looked at Gu Qian, hesitating before asking, “Then… will you do that to me one day?”
Gu Qian looked at him, confused. “What do you mean, Xiao Xiao?”
“What if one day I don’t listen to you, or I make you unhappy? Will you… will you do that to me, too?”
Do that to Xiao Xiao? Gu Qian remembered that day. He had lured Chen into the bathroom, suppressed him with his pheromones, and then pinned him to the ground. Expressionless, he had stomped on Chen’s hands, one foot at a time. “What do you think you are, daring to touch my person?”
Chen had been in so much pain his brain had turned to mush; he didn’t hear a single word, only screamed and begged for mercy. Gu Qian had just smiled coldly. Once he was certain Chen’s hands were ruined, he washed his own hands, cleaned his shoes, and left, looking perfectly pristine.
The methods had been cruel, yes, but he had assumed the story would never reach Xiao Xiao’s ears. He never thought Xiao Xiao would find out. But he looked at him, not understanding. “Why would you think that? What is he, that he deserves to be compared to you? No matter what you ever do to me, I would never lay a hand on you.”
