[ABO] After Accidental Marking, I Became Everyone’s Darling chapter 128

Chapter 128

Impossible.

Until Xiao Xiao was completely dependent on him, he would never let him go back.

It didn’t matter who tried to persuade him. Not even his own father could take Xiao Xiao away.

“Letting him go back is out of the question,” Gu Qian said. “If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up. I’m busy.”

“Wait,” Gu Chen’s voice was low. “Did you speak to An Le on the phone today?”

“I did.”

“What’s the number?”

Gu Qian glanced at the call history and read the number to his father before hanging up without another word.

He got up from Xiao Xiao, opened a cabinet, and took out a vial and a syringe. He began preparing the injection right in front of him.

“No, no…”

Xiao Xiao didn’t know what Gu Qian was doing, but after hearing him talk on the phone about a beta’s secondary gland development, he was filled with an instinctual terror. He scrambled to get away.

Ignoring his fear of the high floor, he stumbled out of bed and ran desperately for the door.

Tears and terror streamed down his face. From the conversation between Gu Qian and Gu Chen, he knew that his father-in-law was now aware that An Le knew he was being monitored.

And now Gu Chen had An Le’s new number.

This was all his fault. If he hadn’t had the sudden urge to call An Le today, none of this would have happened.

But there was no time for self-blame, only overwhelming fear. He ran from the bedroom to the living room, finally collapsing in front of the locked door, sobbing with despair.

He didn’t know the passcode. He couldn’t get out.

And even if he did, he wasn’t wearing a single piece of clothing. How could he possibly escape?

Kneeling on the floor in utter hopelessness, he turned to see Gu Qian walking toward him, syringe in hand.

He instinctively hugged himself, shaking his head. “No, don’t…”

But his fear and his cries did nothing to stop Gu Qian. He grabbed Xiao Xiao’s arm, dragged him to the sofa, and pinned him down, plunging the sharp needle into his arm.

“No, don’t! Gu Qian, you’re a psycho! I hate you, I never want to see you again! Get away from me, get away! Ahhh!”

Gu Qian worked quickly, ignoring Xiao Xiao’s struggles, and soon the drug was injected into his body.

He pulled out the needle, snapped it, and threw it in the trash. Then he gathered the limp Xiao Xiao into his arms, cooing softly, “Don’t be scared, Xiao Xiao, don’t be scared. It’s nothing, and the medicine has no side effects. It’s the best kind, made from my pheromones. Once your gland has developed, I can mark you. I can mark you forever.”

Gu Qian was ecstatic, his smile tinged with a crazed obsession. He kissed the dazed Xiao Xiao. “And because my pheromones are what caused your gland’s secondary development, you can only be marked by me.”

From this day forward, Xiao Xiao’s gland would begin to develop again. Like an omega, he would go into heat periodically.

He could be marked, but only by one person.

He would have heats, but only one person could soothe him.

Xiao Xiao was his.

No one could ever take him away, and even if Xiao Xiao himself wanted to leave, he no longer could.

When Xiao Xiao came to his senses, he was still lying on that bed.

He wasn’t crying or screaming. Instead, his mind was racing.

Gu Qian had said he’d take him back to work when the “results” were in. Was this it? The result of the secondary gland development injection?

He subconsciously touched the back of his neck. Nothing had changed yet, but whether it was the drug or his own mind, he felt a strange heat and a dull ache there.

He felt sick, terrified, panicked.

But there was absolutely nothing he could do.

He curled up under the covers, biting his lip as he cried softly.

When Gu Qian came in, he saw him crying and immediately pulled back the covers, gathering him into his arms. “Why are you crying, Xiao Xiao?” he asked softly. “Don’t you like me? Don’t you want to be an omega and be perfectly compatible with me forever?”

Xiao Xiao felt like he was falling apart. He had never imagined a relationship could turn into this.

He used to like Gu Qian. He could have given him his whole heart.

Why was Gu Qian doing this to him?

Why?

Xiao Xiao shook his head. “I don’t. I don’t want any of it. I don’t want to be your omega, and I don’t want to be permanently marked by you. Just let me go, please. I’m begging you, let me go, Gu Qian. Please, I’m begging you…”

His voice was choked with sobs, utterly pitiful.

But Gu Qian just smiled. “I haven’t done anything to you. Why are you asking me to let you go? Xiao Xiao, don’t you like me?”

“No. Not anymore.”

Tears dripped down his face as he shook his head. “I… I don’t like you anymore. Find someone else. I really…”

But before he could finish, Gu Qian pressed a hand over his lips. “You’re not allowed to not like me,” he said with a smile. “Don’t say such things, Xiao Xiao. Be good.”

Xiao Xiao looked at Gu Qian in terror. He wasn’t making any menacing faces or movements, but fear gripped him all the same, and the words died in his throat.

Gu Qian held him, his voice as gentle as if he were soothing a child. “You’ve been injected with the secondary gland development drug now, so you need to take good care of yourself. Don’t get sick. Then we can see what the results are, see if it’s really as good as they say.”

“Once I can mark you, I’ll take you to work with me. You can be my personal assistant, go wherever I go. That way you can keep an eye on me, make sure I don’t go looking for other omegas.”

Gu Qian laughed as he spoke. Xiao Xiao squeezed his eyes shut and buried himself in his arms, not saying a word.

“By the way,” Gu Qian added, “my dad said An Le is looking for you. He’s not going to give up easily, so I might be a little busy for a while. You’ll have to stay here by yourself, I’m afraid.”

At that, Xiao Xiao’s eyes flew open, and he stared blankly at Gu Qian.

As much as he hated him, the thought of being alone on the 60th floor of a high-rise, where the building swayed with every gust of wind, was terrifying. He didn’t want to be alone.

He instinctively grabbed Gu Qian’s shirt. “Don’t leave me here alone,” he pleaded. “I’ll be good, I won’t run. Just take me with you. I really don’t want to be here by myself.”

Gu Qian kissed his forehead. “I can’t,” he said with a smile. “If you come with me, An Le will find you easily, and he’ll definitely try to take you away. I can’t let that happen.”

“Just be good. I’ll come back to you as soon as I’m done with my work every day.”

Xiao Xiao knew that once Gu Qian made a decision, there was no arguing. But he couldn’t accept it. He wanted to plead again, but the back of his neck was growing hotter.

“Gu Qian, my… I think my gland is on fire.”

Xiao Xiao was terrified. “Quick, help me look! Is my gland ruined? Look, quick, help me look!”

Hearing this, Gu Qian’s interest was piqued. He quickly examined the back of Xiao Xiao’s neck. Nothing had changed; it wasn’t ruined, just a little hot to the touch.

He kissed the frightened Xiao Xiao. “Don’t be scared,” he whispered. “This is normal. Gland development can’t happen without you feeling anything.”

“Just bear with it a little longer. In two days, I’ll be able to mark you for good.”

Xiao Xiao couldn’t accept the changes happening to his body, but the drug was already inside him. There was no way out. No way out.

Terror and grief overwhelmed him, and finally, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted.

For the next few days, Xiao Xiao spent all his time in bed.

Gu Qian would take him, but he never bit his gland, always carefully protecting that spot.

It seemed to be especially windy lately; he always felt the building swaying.

On top of that, the water in the apartment kept getting cut off, and there were loud noises in the morning.

Between the lack of rest and the constant fear of the swaying building, he was tormented daily.

Xiao Xiao had nothing to do. He couldn’t go out, he had no phone. The only thing he could do was curl up on the sofa and watch TV.

That’s what he was doing now, his eyes glued to an entertainment show, occasionally letting out a small laugh.

Suddenly, the front door opened.

Gu Qian came in holding a small cake and some takeout. “Xiao Xiao, come here!” he called out. “I bought you your favorite dessert, and the spicy crab from that place on the north side. Come and have some.”

Xiao Xiao hesitated, but eventually, he went over and sat down, eating obediently.

No one argues with their own stomach. Besides, even if he refused, Gu Qian had ways of making him eat.

He ate the cake first, then turned to the spicy crab.

But when he opened the container, he saw there was only one small crab inside.

He looked at Gu Qian, puzzled. Why only one?

He didn’t ask, but Gu Qian understood his look. “You can’t eat too much spicy food right now,” he explained with a smile. “Just a little to satisfy your craving. We can go out and eat in a few days.”

Xiao Xiao said nothing, just lowered his head and started eating the crab, ignoring Gu Qian.

There was no point in talking. Gu Qian wouldn’t listen anyway.

After he finished the crab and had just washed his hands, Gu Qian wrapped his arms around him. “It’s a little windy outside today,” he murmured. “Were you scared being here all alone?”

Xiao Xiao’s legs were still weak. Of course he was scared.

Why else would he spend all day curled up on the sofa watching TV? It wasn’t just because he had nothing to do; he was trying to use the sound and distraction to forget that the building was shaking.

Seeing him silent, Gu Qian nuzzled his head against him, then kissed his neck, slowly moving to his gland. “Why aren’t you talking, Xiao Xiao? Are you too scared?”

Xiao Xiao still didn’t speak.

Gu Qian’s tongue darted out and licked his gland. “If you don’t say something soon, I’m going to bite,” he said with a grin.

“Don’t.”

Xiao Xiao finally spoke, his voice hoarse and tinged with a faint sob. “I’ll… I’ll talk.”

“Is your gland still hot today?” Gu Qian asked.

Xiao Xiao paused, then shook his head.

“Use your words. And don’t lie. I know the timeline.”

“It’s not hot anymore,” Xiao Xiao said quickly.

At that, Gu Qian smiled. He scooped him up and started walking toward the bedroom. “If it’s not hot, that means it’s fully developed,” he said, his voice filled with glee. “Xiao Xiao, I can finally mark you permanently.”
