[ABO] President Shou Is Not a Total Shou Chapter 35

Chapter 35: Brothers, Partners, and Companions

Assistant Liang stared blankly for a full half-minute after President Shou disappeared through the cabin door before he suddenly reacted. He sprang up, yanked his backpack and carry-on from the overhead bin, and struggled to squeeze his way out against the flow of incoming passengers.

The flight attendant at the door dutifully reminded him that the cabin door was about to close and asked if Liang Bo was sure he wanted to leave the plane.

…Well, if he got off now, he certainly wouldn’t be getting back on.

Which meant Shou Jiaxun had absolutely no intention of returning to the plane.

Assistant Liang, who had nearly been abandoned by his boss mid-journey, broke out in a cold sweat.

When he chased him out, Shou Jiaxun was standing with his back to the boarding gate, staring at his phone with a look of bitter hatred, clearly having just ended a very unpleasant call.

Liang Bo asked cautiously from the side, “Are we still going for the ‘IPO’?”

Shou Jiaxun’s eyes hesitated, but not for long. He soon shook his head to confirm: “Go home first.”

Liang Bo hurriedly pushed his boss and the small luggage toward the seats in the waiting area. “Don’t move. I’ll go to the check-in counter and see if I can intercept the checked luggage.”

Then he took off running, his speed rivaling an Olympic sprinter.

In the end, of course, he couldn’t intercept it; the luggage cart had long since driven onto the tarmac.

Assistant Liang could only call the destination airport and pay international shipping fees to have the luggage sent back to China.

The postage was more expensive than the box of clothes itself.

However, by the time Liang Bo returned to the original waiting area, Shou Jiaxun’s emotions had stabilized. He looked normal, arms crossed and legs crossed, admiring the planes taking off and landing outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.

“Are you okay? Did something happen at home?” Liang Bo sat down next to him.

Shou Jiaxun scoffed coldly: “Guo Duoyu, that idiot, actually wants to go see his Alpha dad.”

Assistant Liang was puzzled: “What happened to his Alpha dad?”

Looking at Shou Jiaxun’s expression, he felt the other clearly had a strong desire to vent, but after struggling for a long time, Shou only threw out: “Other people’s privacy, inconvenient to say.”

Liang Bo nodded in understanding. “I think, with your IQ and EQ, the judgment you make is definitely correct.

If you say Guo Duoyu shouldn’t go see his Alpha dad, then he definitely shouldn’t.

But if he returns to China before you… and sees him. Are you really going to break his legs?”

“Breaking his legs” was, of course, angry talk. He was currently more worried about Uncle Guo’s condition.

Just now, Guoran had only said two sentences to Little President Shou on the phone. The first was: “Duoyu is an adult now. I have to give the right to choose back to him. That man is his biological father, after all.”

The second sentence: “It’s fine, don’t worry about it.”

Little President Shou was so angry his head buzzed, nearly vomiting blood on the spot. He had roared anxiously, “You raised your son through thick and thin just to return him intact, letting that dog of a man pick the fruit ready-made?”

But before he could finish his sentence, Uncle Guo had already hung up.

Seeing him stay silent, Liang Bo sighed lightly and tried to mediate further: “I know you and your uncle have a very good relationship, but this is ultimately a matter between father and son. Or, to be more precise, it’s their privacy.

Just now you told me ‘biological after all.’ Your Alpha father ran away from debt and left you alone, yet you don’t blame him.

Empathy suggests that if Guo Duoyu wants to meet his Alpha father… even if what he’s doing is wrong, it’s pardonable, right?”

Shou Jiaxun turned his head to look the young assistant in the eye, his expression solemn and serious. “First of all, the nature of the problem with my Alpha dad and Guo Duoyu’s Alpha dad is different; some mistakes can be forgiven, some cannot.

Regrettably, Guo Duoyu’s biological Alpha father belongs to the latter.

Secondly, there is no privacy between Guoran and me.

Counting by first gender, we are brothers; by second gender, we are sisters. In career, we are partners who share glory and shame; in experience, we are companions who share joys and sorrows; emotionally, we are kin who have eaten from the same bowl.

So Uncle Guo’s affairs might be privacy to you, but to me… his business is my business.

In short, I will absolutely not allow that Alpha to hurt Guoran again.”

Assistant Liang was left tongue-tied, unable to retort, and smiled awkwardly. “Then… I’ll go change the tickets right now.”

President Shou nodded and instructed, “Choose the flight that boards soonest. If you can’t change it, buy new ones.”

Unfortunately, despite their rush, they couldn’t stop Guo Duoyu from going to see his dog of an Alpha father.

For one, Guo Duoyu’s journey was shorter than theirs. Furthermore, while President Shou was transferring flights, Guo Duoyu had already taken off.

Calculating the difference, they arrived home about ten hours apart, and those ten hours happened to be during the daytime in China.

Guo Duoyu landed in the early morning, had lunch with his biological Alpha father at noon, and returned home just in time to have dinner with Shou Jiaxun… if he could still stomach it.

(>_<)

In recent years, aside from paying for Guo Duoyu’s education, Uncle Guo had used all his earnings to buy real estate, finally achieving true housing freedom in the last two years.

Shou Jiaxun, on the other hand, had been helping his Alpha father repay debts.

It wasn’t that he was particularly filial; mostly, if the debts weren’t cleared, it would affect the company’s IPO.

So to this day, Little President Shou was still a tenant in Uncle Guo’s house. From a budget two-bedroom apartment to a high-end large flat, wherever Guoran moved, he followed.

After all, for someone on business trips three hundred days a year, renting a place alone wasn’t cost-effective.

Shou Jiaxun arrived home after three in the afternoon and immediately dragged Uncle Guo out for a private chat.

Assistant Liang was assigned by the exasperated President Shou to stay alone in the three-hundred-square-meter luxury high-rise apartment in the inner ring to guard the house. He was told that when Guo Duoyu showed up, he should break one of his legs first, and Shou would break the unfilial son’s other leg personally when he returned.

Uncle Guo had originally wanted to catch up with Student Liang, but seeing Shou Jiaxun’s posture, he just waved to the new assistant and hurriedly accompanied his little partner outside to smoke and vent.

Liang Bo plugged his phone into the charger, sitting on the sofa in the foyer, playing games while acting as a loyal guard dog.

Halfway through the second round of his tower-pushing game, the electronic lock let out a soft beep, the door opened a crack, and a young face with darker skin peeked in.

He spoke hesitantly, asking Liang Bo who was gaming on the sofa, “Who are you?”

Assistant Liang stole a glance amidst his busy schedule: “President Shou isn’t here, come in first.”

“Oh.” Guo Duoyu then felt reassured enough to push the door open, changing shoes in the entryway while continuing to inquire about Liang Bo’s identity: “Are you a colleague from their company?”

Liang Bo nodded: “Mmhmm, President Shou’s new assistant.”

Guo Duoyu stuffed his leather shoes into the cabinet, shuffled over to the sofa in slippers, and looked Liang Bo up and down up close: “Beta?”

Liang Bo nodded: “Mmhmm, wait a sec, let me finish this round.”

Guo Duoyu scratched the back of his head with a confused expression. He went into the living room to pour himself water, dawdled for a few minutes, and when he came out again, Liang Bo had finally finished his game.

Only then did the two shake hands and formally introduce themselves. Assistant Liang greeted him formally: “Hello, Little Mr. Guo. I am the newly appointed Special Assistant to President Shou; my name is Liang Bo. We are the same age. You can call me by my full name, or Little Liang.”

Guo Duoyu was slightly shy: “Hello, hello, just call me Little Guo… What did President Shou go do?”
