Accidentally Turned a Tragic Romance Plotline into a Sweet and Pampering One [Transmigration] CHAPTER 76.1

Chapter 76 part 1

Hearing this, Gu Lin’s gaze froze for a moment.

After a while, he reached out and took hold of the hand that was clutching his clothes—a hand a full size smaller than his own. His voice was deep. “Are you sure?”

Lin Zheng had spoken on impulse, but maybe it was because the steam in the bathroom was too thick, because his head was still fuzzy and hot. “Just… just a simple bath together…”

The rest of the words trailed off, his confidence slowly draining away.

Gu Lin looked at the man whose head was practically steaming, suppressed a laugh, and said, “Alright.”

Gu Lin let go of Lin Zheng’s hand and began to remove his own clothes.

Lin Zheng had never felt time pass so slowly. Watching Gu Lin undo the first two buttons of his shirt felt like an eternity. With the buttons undone, the loose collar fell open, revealing the strong, sleek, and sexy line of his collarbones. Long fingers continued to the next button. The firm pectoral muscles he had seen—and touched—before came into view. His throat went a little dry. He wanted to look away, but his attention was captivated by that almost magical hand, his gaze fixed, following it downward.

Long, strong fingers came to rest on the waistband of his trousers, then paused.

“Do you want to keep watching?” a low, amused voice came from in front of him.

Lin Zheng snapped back as if woken from a dream. The red on his face deepened another shade, and he belatedly and unnaturally whipped his head to the side. “I wasn’t looking! I was just spacing out!” He said it with conviction, not a hint of guilt in his voice, but if his face hadn’t been so red, he might have actually fooled someone.

Gu Lin just found it adorable.

Lin Zheng turned his back, maintaining his principles and no longer coveting the naked form before him. But as his peripheral vision caught the shirt and trousers being placed to the side, one by one, his mind couldn’t help but conjure up the intimidating outline he had just seen.

A sudden wave of apprehension washed over him.

He was now beginning to doubt whether asking Gu Lin to join him was a rational decision at all.

He thought for a moment, then turned around, ready to admit defeat. “Gu Lin, ah, why don’t you go first? I’ll just head out—”

Lin Zheng’s words stopped halfway.

Gu Lin’s back was to him.

When Lin Zheng turned, what met his eyes was a back with broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and long legs. A sudden heat rushed to his nose, and the words caught in his throat.

Gu Lin had just finished putting his things away. When he turned back, he saw his little rabbit frozen in place.

Gu Lin paid no mind to his own nakedness and walked over.

He worked out year-round and had maintained his body well.

Lin Zheng watched the man walking toward him, a man who looked more like a model than the mannequins in a department store. Broad, solid shoulders, a firm, lean waist, and long, powerful legs. They say clothes make the man, but without the encumbrance of clothing, Gu Lin’s assets were even more clearly on display. It was a physique every man would envy and every man and woman would fall for. It was almost inhuman.

Lin Zheng saw the expression on Gu Lin’s face change and wondered what was wrong. The next second, Gu Lin, who had reached him, cupped the back of his head with one hand and pressed a tissue to his nose with the other.

Lin Zheng: “?”

Why was Gu Lin holding his nose?

As he was wondering, he tasted a hint of blood in his mouth.

Gu Lin’s brow furrowed, his voice filled with worry and fear. “Don’t tilt your head back too far. How did you suddenly get a nosebleed?”

Hearing this, Lin Zheng’s mind went blank with a boom.

Wait… did I just get a nosebleed from looking at Gu Lin’s body?

Realizing what he had just done, Lin Zheng’s cheeks instantly flushed crimson.

At the same time, a million stallions thundered through his mind.

No, it’s not a big deal. It was just the visual impact. It’s not embarrassing at all.

Anyone else would have reacted the same way…

No! Absolutely no one else can see this!

“Ah, ah, my nose, my nose hurts,” Lin Zheng whined weakly.

Lin Zheng forgot how the bleeding was stopped. By the time he came to his senses, he was already being held by Gu Lin, sitting in the water.

The large bathtub was big enough for two adults, and with Lin Zheng being a size smaller than Gu Lin, it was less that he was leaning against Gu Lin’s chest and more that he was completely encircled by him.

It was… it was so embarrassing…

Gu Lin lifted one of his hands, kneading it as if to repeatedly confirm that he was right there beside him.

Lin Zheng didn’t move, letting Gu Lin knead his hand.

After a long moment, he heard Gu Lin sigh, then rest his head heavily on his shoulder from behind.

He tried to turn his head to look at Gu Lin, but he couldn’t turn all the way. He called his name. “Gu Lin?”

“I thought I’d never see you again.”

Gu Lin had truly thought that Lin Zheng would abandon him, that that night would be the last time they would ever see each other. But now, Lin Zheng was right here in his arms. Yet, even now, he still felt that the person before him wasn’t real, that he was just a figment of his imagination, someone he had conjured up.

He didn’t want to talk about whether Lin Zheng was leaving or staying. He was afraid this was all just a dream, afraid that if he accidentally touched the wrong trigger, the dream would shatter.

He would rather live in the dream than be woken up by the truth.

Even if the warmth of the body he was touching was real, even if the voice he could hear was real, he still didn’t dare to believe.

“Gu Lin…”

“Mm,” Gu Lin’s voice was muffled.

“Are you worried that the me here isn’t real?”

Gu Lin didn’t answer.

Lin Zheng looked at the hand holding his, then flipped his own palm over, pressing it against the larger one beneath it, his fingers interlacing with the gaps between Gu Lin’s. He squeezed tightly and asked, “Can you feel me like this?”

Gu Lin didn’t answer.

A few seconds later, Lin Zheng gently pushed the head resting on his shoulder away, turned around, and shifted to sit facing him on his lap. He cupped the lowered head in his hands, tilted his own head up, and pressed a kiss to Gu Lin’s lips. “What about now? Can you feel me?”

Only then did Gu Lin look up at Lin Zheng.

Seeing that it had an effect, Lin Zheng generously kissed him again.

Gu Lin’s gaze lingered on his face for longer.

Wanting Gu Lin to stay with him for even longer, Lin Zheng kissed him several more times.

Just as he felt it was enough and was about to stop, Gu Lin’s hand pressed against the back of his head. Their lips, not yet separated, were pressed even tighter together as Gu Lin claimed every part of his mouth.

Lin Zheng was kissed until he was breathless, and just as he was about to run out of air, Gu Lin’s movements finally slowed, becoming gentle.

“Gu Lin…”

“Mm.”

A large hand gripped his waist. Feeling the hand trying to lift him, his own hand covered the back of it.

Gu Lin’s movement paused for a split second, then he held his waist tightly. Lin Zheng’s head was forced back, and a dense pattern of kisses was left on his neck.

Lin Zheng couldn’t speak, only his senses of touch and perception remained sharp.

He collapsed onto Gu Lin, who lifted his chin and kissed his lips.

“Ngh, Gu Lin.”

“Baby,” Gu Lin’s voice was hoarse.

Lin Zheng cupped Gu Lin’s face and kissed him. “Don’t worry, I’m right here. We made a promise, to spend the rest of our lives together.”

“We promised?”

“Yes, we promised.”

“And you won’t leave again in the future?”

Lin Zheng shook his head. “Absolutely not.”

Feeling the warmth of the body in his arms, Gu Lin was finally willing to believe that all of this was real.

“Shall we go to bed?” Gu Lin’s voice was low and raspy.

Before Lin Zheng could answer, he was lifted by Gu Lin and carried out. With every step, his heart beat faster.

Gu Lin kissed his nose and laughed at him. Lin Zheng was so shy he wanted to dig a hole and hide. He thought about it and decided this wasn’t his fault at all, but Gu Lin’s, so he started to blame him.

Gu Lin’s voice was laced with laughter. “Yes, blame me. It’s all my fault.”

Lin Zheng bit Gu Lin’s neck hard. Gu Lin hissed and said, “So a cornered rabbit really does bite.”

Lin Zheng: “…”

Gu Lin placed him on the bed.

Lin Zheng bit him again, but this time he bit his own tooth and it hurt. “Ow…”

Gu Lin stroked Lin Zheng’s head, deliberately pressing his lips to his ear, his voice raspy and sexy. “The little rabbit can bite as many times as he wants. Biting all night is not a problem.”

Lin Zheng blushed and was about to retort, but the rest of his words were stolen by Gu Lin.

The next day, at the company.

“Does anyone else feel like President Gu is in a particularly good mood today?”

“Yes! I ran into him in the break room just now and it scared me to death, but he actually greeted me.”
