Extra Chapter 3
On a morning with faint sunlight filtering through, Lin Zheng was woken up by a ticklish sensation.
It felt like a feather was brushing against his face, itchy and uncomfortable. He raised his hand to scratch it, but the itchiness moved to the bridge of his nose. Lin Zheng turned over grumpily and rubbed his nose vigorously, but the ticklish sensation then transferred to his lips. Along with it came a weight on his body, making his breathing a bit difficult.
Opening his sleepy eyes in a daze, he saw Gu Lin’s messy bangs right before him, extremely close. It seemed that with Gu Lin’s movement, they would touch his face in the next second.
Lin Zheng, who hadn’t slept enough, reached out and pushed Gu Lin’s face away. “Sleepy, I want to sleep~”
But a moment later, Gu Lin leaned over from behind again, tirelessly capturing his lips once more.
A bare arm with clearly defined muscles also reached into the quilt from the outside.
Lin Zheng pushed the man aside again, his voice carrying the soft and sticky temper unique to waking up in the morning. “Stop it, Gu Lin.”
Hearing this soft tone, Gu Lin chuckled lightly. “Still don’t want to get up?”
Lin Zheng shook his head, turned over, and burrowed into the man’s arms again.
“Lazy rabbit.”
“Mmh…”
“Aren’t we going to see Grandfather off?”
Hearing this, Lin Zheng opened his eyes in a second.
A second later, he kicked off the quilt and sprang out of bed like a carp. While looking for clothes, he looked at Gu Lin behind him. “Get up, why are you still dazing off?”
It was almost New Year’s, and the two had specially come to Yinlu County to invite Grandfather to spend the New Year with the family. However, after staying for only two days, Grandfather said he wanted to visit a friend in another city first. Grandfather was getting on in years, and the two wanted to accompany him on the way, but Grandfather firmly rejected the proposal, saying that they had finally managed to get a vacation and should take this opportunity to relax properly.
Lin Zheng wasn’t stingy about his vacation time, but seeing Grandfather’s persistence, he had to give up.
Grandfather’s flight was at noon today, and the two had agreed last night to see him off at the airport together.
Only when Lin Zheng found the clothes he wanted to wear from the closet did Gu Lin get up lazily. However, he just sat at the foot of the bed, watching Lin Zheng get dressed.
Lin Zheng put on a hoodie, but the neckline was too small, and his head got stuck. Gu Lin pulled him over, raised his hands to help him put the hoodie on properly, and then pulled down the hem to cover his fair belly. Then, he just looked up at the person standing there.
Lin Zheng saw through his thoughts and lowered his head to kiss him on the lips. Only then did President Gu beam with joy.
Lin Zheng dressed himself and then chose an outfit for Gu Lin.
After sending Grandfather to the airport and saying their goodbyes, Grandfather turned back to them before leaving and said, “While I’m away these few days, you two have fun.”
Lin Zheng said obediently, “Okay.”
Grandfather glanced at Gu Lin, then waved to Lin Zheng alone.
Lin Zheng leaned his ear over in confusion.
Gu Lin watched the grandfather and grandson curiously from the side. After a while, he didn’t know what Grandfather had said, but he saw Lin Zheng’s face turn as red as if it had been fished out of hot water.
After sending Grandfather off, Gu Lin smoothed the broken hair on Lin Zheng’s forehead and asked, “What did Grandfather just say to you?”
The heat on Lin Zheng’s face didn’t subside. He only said “nothing” and walked out.
Lin Zheng thought to himself, I wouldn’t tell Gu Lin even if it killed me that Grandfather was urging us to get married quickly.
Seeing Lin Zheng’s reaction, Gu Lin became even more curious. Back in the car, he leaned close to Lin Zheng and asked, “What did Grandfather say to you? Hmm… telling us not to be too loud at night?”
Lin Zheng was drinking water and almost spurred it out. He looked at Gu Lin. “What goes on in your head all day? Oh, speaking of this, I haven’t settled the score with you yet!”
Lin Zheng was increasingly discovering that Gu Lin’s aloofness was just an appearance; in reality, he was very clingy. During the two nights they stayed at Grandfather’s house, Gu Lin was always clinging to him. Lin Zheng was on tenterhooks, afraid of being discovered by Grandfather, but Gu Lin not only didn’t care but even intensified his actions.
Gu Lin smiled and said, “Didn’t we not get caught?”
Lin Zheng said angrily, “What if we had been caught?”
Gu Lin had to quickly coax him, saying many sweet words before Lin Zheng finally let it go.
During the two days in Yinlu County, the two had been accompanying Grandfather and hadn’t had a chance to go out and stroll around.
The last time they came here, they were in a rush, and Lin Zheng hadn’t prepared anything. This time, before coming, Lin Zheng had made a guide in advance and found several places he wanted to visit.
The weather today happened to be nice, so Lin Zheng proposed going to a popular food spot first.
Lin Zheng used his phone to search for the location of the food spot. Gu Lin leaned over to take a look, and after seeing it, said, “That place is a bit far from here.”
Lin Zheng didn’t say anything, just looked up and glanced at Gu Lin.
A second later, Gu Lin immediately put on a smiling face and corrected himself, “It’s not too far if we drive.”
Lin Zheng smiled with satisfaction. “Right?” Then he put away his phone, sat in the car, and said to Gu Lin, “Then let’s set off.”
Gu Lin smiled, sighed, and shook his head.
The two played outside all afternoon. When they went back, Lin Zheng was still holding two ice creams in his hand. The blueberry flavor was his, and the strawberry flavor with a bite taken out was Gu Lin’s.
But now, both were his.
After finishing two ice creams, Lin Zheng lay back on the car seat.
He touched his round belly and rested.
“Gu Lin, I’m so full.”
Gu Lin was driving, stuck between laughter and tears. “You ate two small cakes, a large bowl of noodles, drank a cup of milk tea, and ate two ice creams. Do you think you wouldn’t be full?”
Lin Zheng played the rogue. “Those two small cakes were obviously given to me because you couldn’t finish them. The noodles were because the boss misheard; I clearly only wanted a small bowl.”
“The boss misheard? How did I hear someone say that a small portion wasn’t enough and they definitely wanted a large portion?”
Lin Zheng shook his head, refusing to listen. “No, no, the boss just misheard.”
“What about the ice cream? Who picked two flavors by himself and claimed nicely that he bought one for me?”
Lin Zheng rubbed his belly, turned his head to look at the person next to him, and said self-righteously, “I did buy it for you, but you said you didn’t like it. Naturally, it couldn’t be wasted, so in the end, I had to eat both by myself.”
Gu Lin couldn’t help laughing. He couldn’t win an argument against his little rabbit when he used twisted logic.
Having played enough and eaten enough, as soon as they returned home, Lin Zheng lay comfortably on the sofa.
He watched Gu Lin’s figure walking back and forth, the corners of his mouth slowly curling up.
Seeing Gu Lin happen to pass by in front of him, he reached out and hugged Gu Lin’s calf.
Gu Lin looked down at him. “Mm?”
Lin Zheng made Gu Lin sit down, resting his head on Gu Lin’s lap as a pillow.
Gu Lin smiled, knowing that Lin Zheng was sleepy and wanted him to keep him company, so he picked up a book from the side and read it quietly.
But Lin Zheng opened a pair of bright eyes and looked at him. “Gu Lin, I want to hear a story.”
“Mm? What story do you want to hear?”
Lin Zheng pulled down one of Gu Lin’s arms and hugged it in his bosom. “Just the kind of story that makes people feel very at ease.”
Gu Lin thought for a moment. “Hmm… The Little Duckling Looking for Its Mother?”
“Pinocchio?”
“Dark version of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf?”
“Isn’t that a horror story!”
“Hahaha, alright, I won’t tease you anymore. Tell me what you want to hear.”
“Hmph, I don’t want to listen anymore.”
Gu Lin’s eyes contained a smile as he scratched Lin Zheng’s face with his finger. “Then let’s switch. You tell me a story?”
“No.”
“Be good.”
Hearing Gu Lin’s gentle voice, Lin Zheng surrendered.
Fine, he’d tell one.
But what story should he tell?
After getting to know Gu Lin, Lin Zheng realized that Gu Lin was like a library. Gu Lin had read the books he had read, and Gu Lin had also read the books he hadn’t read.
If he really wanted to tell Gu Lin a story, he had to tell one that Gu Lin didn’t know.
But where could he find a story Gu Lin hadn’t heard?
Thinking of something, Lin Zheng’s eyes lit up.
He had one. Gu Lin definitely wouldn’t know this one.
Lin Zheng sat up, changing his posture to sit facing Gu Lin on his lap, looking at the person in front of him with sparkling eyes. “Gu Lin, do you know about Emotional Amnesia?”
“I know. A certain little liar lied to me about having Emotional Amnesia at the beginning.”
Lin Zheng coughed twice before saying seriously, “Then do you know its origin?”
Gu Lin thought for a moment and said, “I only know it has existed for a long time, but it’s rare.”
Lin Zheng thought to himself, That’s right, after all, it’s not written in this book.
But Lin Zheng remembered that when he was in school before, he seemed to have heard a professor mention a disease very similar to this one, which had existed a long, long time ago.
Lin Zheng combined the information and began to speak logically. “This disease, you have to trace it back thousands of years.”
Gu Lin found it funny. “Aren’t you telling a story?”
Lin Zheng said, “Don’t be impatient. What I’m going to tell is a story.”
Gu Lin raised an eyebrow and waited quietly for the rest.
“It is said that this disease existed in ancient times. The first person to suffer from this disease was a general…”
Lin Zheng recalled and told Gu Lin the story, but since it had been too long, he could only tell a general outline.
He spoke of the general who fell ill, and he spoke of the general’s lover.
It was a poignant and moving story.
Gu Lin listened attentively.
When Lin Zheng finished, Gu Lin asked, “What happened to the general in the end? Did he recover?”
Lin Zheng nodded. “He recovered, but it is said that the general lost his lover because of it. He wanted to follow his lover countless times, but shouldering the heavy responsibility of the family and the country, he had to serve the country until his old age. It is said that he never married in his life.”
Gu Lin corrected him. “Wrong. That general clearly married a wife.”
Lin Zheng thought for a moment, slapped his forehead, and suddenly realized, “Oh right, he and his lover were already married.”
A smile appeared on Gu Lin’s face. He pulled Lin Zheng’s head over and kissed him on the lips. “You’re only this age; how can you be so forgetful?”
Lin Zheng acted coquettishly and burrowed into the crook of his neck. “Can’t you just remember for me?”
Gu Lin had to agree, saying fine, fine.
Gu Lin held the person in his arms, feeling his body temperature and the sense of fulfillment transmitted to his chest. This sense of fulfillment traveled straight to his heart, making him feel incredibly at ease.
Lin Zheng wrapped his arms around Gu Lin’s broad back, rested his head in the crook of Gu Lin’s neck, smelled the pleasant scent on Gu Lin, and said softly, “Gu Lin, I feel so happy right now.”
Gu Lin gave a magnetic “mm.”
Lin Zheng felt the vibration of Gu Lin’s vocal cords, raised his hand to play with Gu Lin’s Adam’s apple, and asked, “What about you? Are you happy being with me?”
Gu Lin thought for a moment and said, “At first, I wanted to sleep with you every day.”
Lin Zheng was a little confused. “Eh?”
“I wanted it so much I was going crazy.”
Lin Zheng blushed. “What are you saying?”
“Later, I wanted to tie you to my side every moment.”
“That probably wouldn’t work; that’s called coercion.”
Gu Lin got more enthusiastic as he spoke. “I wanted your body to be covered in my scent.”
“Isn’t that going too far!”
“I wanted your mind to be filled only with me.”
“Mmm… that’s not impossible.”
“I wanted to be able to see your happy look at any time.”
“Hehe.”
Gu Lin lowered his eyes and touched Lin Zheng’s soft hair. “I don’t know how to describe it, but as long as you stay by my side, I seem to be very happy.”
The wind blew in through the window, blowing up the floor-to-ceiling sheer curtains and also stirring up ripples in Lin Zheng’s heart.
Lin Zheng quietly curled the corners of his mouth. “Gu Lin, let me tell you a secret.”
“Mm?”
“Me too.”
