Extra 11: If YanYan Had Pain Receptors and Wasn’t Switched at Birth (4)
Screams erupted throughout the movie theater.
It was pitch black all around, and no one noticed what was happening in the corner of the back row.
An Qingyan was still dedicated to his performance. On the surface, he was buried in the man’s chest, trembling with fear. Secretly, however, he was marveling at how warm Gu Fei’s embrace was and fighting the urge to feel up those excellent pectoral muscles.
Gu Fei’s body went stiff for a moment. The lighting was too dim to see his expression clearly. He looked down at the young man buried in his arms with an unreadable gaze, then raised his hand to pat his shoulder, comforting him in a low voice, “It’s okay. Don’t be afraid.”
Only then did An Qingyan reluctantly let go of Gu Fei. He touched the tip of his nose awkwardly. “Sorry, I’m really a bit scared. I’m a total coward who still loves the thrill.”
Gu Fei: “It’s fine.”
Twenty minutes later, the terrified Little Young Master An pulled the same trick again, throwing himself into the man’s arms once more. He did restrain himself a bit over the next hour, not throwing himself at the man anymore, mindful of the saying that too much of a good thing can be bad.
But the show had to go on.
He covered his eyes in fear, yet couldn’t resist peeking through his fingers, or clasped his hands together nervously. At appropriate moments, he would let out a small gasp to express his terror.
He hadn’t realized before that he had a talent for acting. Maybe he should sign up for a crash course in performance; he could star in his own horror movies in the future.
At 10:40 PM, the movie ended.
The lights in the theater came on, and the audience began to file out.
An Qingyan let out a sigh of relief, acting as if he still had lingering fears. “Finally finished watching it.”
No, finally finished acting.
Under the bright lights, Gu Fei could finally see the young man clearly. He did look genuinely scared. A hint of a smile flashed in Gu Fei’s eyes as he picked up the unfinished coke and popcorn. “Let’s go.”
“Mm, my legs are so scared they’re almost jelly.”
The two walked out of the theater one after the other. An Qingyan hadn’t had his fill of drama yet; while walking down the stairs, he theatrically supported himself against the wall, raising a hand to wipe non-existent cold sweat from his face.
Suddenly, a low chuckle came from behind him. It was fleeting, and An Qingyan almost thought he was hearing things. Gu Fei actually laughed? At what?
Then came the man’s meaningful voice from behind: “YanYan, I think your acting is better than the lead in the movie. You get into character quickly, and it’s very layered.”
An Qingyan: “…”
Crack. That was the sound of his composure shattering.
Gu Fei had actually seen through it? And he thought he was acting so well?
Little Young Master An’s footsteps paused. He turned stiffly to look at the man behind him, at a loss for words. After holding it in for a long time, he finally squeezed out three words: “You flatter me.”
His cheeks were flushed a faint red from embarrassment.
Gu Fei found the kid’s reaction amusing. He walked forward at an unhurried pace, while An Qingyan followed closely, hesitating to speak.
Gu Fei glanced at the young man out of the corner of his eye. “Your big brother used to complain to me quite often. He said you and An Yu often turned off the lights late at night to watch horror movies at home, and sometimes you’d even play tricks to scare him on purpose.”
Back then, when An Jing told him about it, he was gnashing his teeth, wishing he could chase these two little brats with a broom. One was naughtier than the other.
An Qingyan: “…”
It was a miscalculation after all.
He explained weakly, “My second brother was the mastermind. I just listened to him.”
At that moment, An Yu, who was playing games at home, sneezed inexplicably. He rubbed his nose, wondering which little brat was badmouthing him behind his back!
Seeing the young man looking down obediently, like a little rabbit, Gu Fei couldn’t help but reach out and rub his head, saying softly, “You were better behaved when you were little.”
“Let’s go.”
An Qingyan stood frozen for two seconds before quickly catching up with the man’s strides. His mind was in chaos—Did Gu Fei just rub my head? That’s such an intimate gesture. I remember when I was little, Gu Fei used to squat down and rub my head too.
On the street, An Qingyan held the unfinished popcorn, eating absentmindedly. After hesitating for a moment, he tentatively asked the man beside him, “Gu Fei ge, aren’t you going to ask me why I was acting just now?”
Gu Fei: “Mm? Why?”
An Qingyan: “Because… because I wanted to feel how firm your pectoral muscles are… wait, no, I just thought… thought…”
Forget it. He couldn’t wash this clean even if he jumped into the Yellow River. What was he saying? Wait, that was actually the truth. He had no face left!!
He cautiously observed Gu Fei’s expression, but the other’s face remained unchanged. His attractive thin lips parted as he asked, “So, did you feel it?”
An Qingyan: “…Very firm. Very masculine.”
A very faint smile appeared on the man’s cold face before vanishing again. His voice was calm as he said, “It’s getting late. I’ll take you back to school.”
“Okay.”
As they walked side by side toward the parking lot, a little girl holding roses suddenly walked up to them. Her eyes curved into a smile as she spoke to the approachable-looking An Qingyan, “Handsome big brother, buy a flower for your girlfriend.”
What a cute little sister. An Qingyan bent down, smiling kindly at the little girl. His clear, gentle voice carried a hint of childlike innocence, “But big brother doesn’t have a girlfriend. What should I do?”
The little girl: “Mm… then find one!”
“Good idea. I’ll take all these flowers then.”
“Really?” The little girl was even happier. Seeing the big brother nod, she counted the roses and said crisply, “There are twenty-one flowers here. Ten yuan each. Um… Big brother, you can just give me two hundred!”
“Deal.”
An Qingyan realized belatedly that he didn’t have any cash on him, and the little sister didn’t have a QR code for payment.
He could only turn to look at the silent man beside him. An awkward but polite smile appeared on his fair, handsome face as he asked expectantly, “Gu Fei ge, do you have cash?”
Big shots usually carry wallets when they go out, right?
Sure enough, the big shot Gu took out his wallet without a word, pulled out two hundred yuan, and handed it to the young man. The young man took it gratefully, gave the money to the little girl, and took the roses.
“Thank you, big brother!”
“You’re welcome. It’s late, hurry home.”
“Okay, bye-bye, big brother!”
An Qingyan smiled and waved at her, watching the little girl walk away before withdrawing his gaze. He looked down and sniffed the roses in his arms, hearing the man’s magnetic voice in his ear: “You’re going to give them to a girlfriend?”
“Yeah.” The young man turned to look at him, eyes smiling into crescents. The streetlights reflected in his beautiful peach-blossom eyes as if they held stars. He said happily:
“When I get back to school, I’ll give one to every female classmate passing by and ask if they want to be my girlfriend. What do you think?”
Gu Fei: “…”
“Let’s go back.”
“Alright!”
Twenty minutes later, the black Maybach stopped in the open space in front of the gate of Nan University. Gu Fei, who hadn’t spoken the whole way, finally opened his mouth: “We’re here. Get out.”
An Qingyan unbuckled his seatbelt. Before getting out, he thrust the entire bouquet of twenty-one red roses in front of the man. A shy smile pursed his lips. “Gu Fei ge, these are for you.”
A flash of surprise crossed Gu Fei’s eyes.
“I was just joking earlier. I intended to give them to you all along.”
The man’s tense facial expression loosened slightly, finding it somewhat amusing. “Using my money to buy flowers to give to me?”
“That was borrowed. I’ll transfer it back to you in a bit.” An Qingyan stuffed the flowers directly into his arms, opened the door, got out, and then waved goodbye with a smile. “Gu Fei ge, I’ll go back now. See you later.”
Gu Fei watched the young man’s back gradually disappear from sight. Only then did he look down at the flowers in his hand. A smile bloomed in his usually calm eyes, like a light feather falling into a still lake, creating ripples.
…
Although his acting had been seen through, which was a bit embarrassing, overall, today’s harvest was good. An Qingyan felt very satisfied, his steps light and brisk.
“Yuqi, I return in triumph!”
Lu Yuqi, who was playing games on his bed, looked up and glanced at him. Sure enough, spring had arrived; the smile on that face was overflowing with the feeling of spring. “Coming back so late, what did you do?”
“Nothing much, just ate dinner and watched a movie.” As An Qingyan spoke, he looked down at his phone. He opened the chat with Gu Fei, sent a red packet of two hundred yuan, and then sent a cute sticker.
He had specifically looked for a lot of these cute stickers.
Lu Yuqi immediately put down his phone and leaned over to his good friend. “Gu Fei actually went to watch a movie with you?”
An Qingyan: “Is that strange?” Saying this, he couldn’t help but laugh again, automatically omitting the embarrassing incident during the movie, and bragged happily: “When he came to pick me up, he said I looked good today. He smiled at me several times, and just now he touched my head very intimately.”
Lu Yuqi frowned in confusion. “Are you sure the person you’re talking about is Gu Fei?”
As Gu Fei’s cousin, he had never enjoyed such treatment. Not even a friendly smile, let alone a head rub. What a double standard!
“I think Gu Fei likes me a little bit, too.” Little Young Master An confidently picked up a mirror and looked at himself carefully. “Who asked me to be born so beautiful? Look at this face, so handsome, so charming, and such a good personality. There’s no reason Gu Fei wouldn’t like me. Yep, that’s right.”
Lu Yuqi: “…”
The people of the An family were more narcissistic than the next.
On the other side, Gu Fei drove home and discovered the message from An Qingyan. Naturally, he wouldn’t accept the two hundred yuan, but he looked at the sticker back and forth a few times. This time it was a doggy heart.
“Master Gu, you’re back. Why did you bring so many flowers back?” Butler Shen was surprised.
Gu Fei handed the flowers to him. “Someone gave them to me. Help me find a vase to put them in and send them to my study.”
“Yes, sir.”
Master Gu actually accepted flowers from someone?
