Extra 13: If YanYan Had Pain Receptors and Wasn’t Switched at Birth (Final)
After getting the rabies vaccine at the hospital, Gu Fei took An Qingyan out for a meal, then drove him back to school.
It was already nearly 11 p.m. As they walked side-by-side along the campus path, An Qingyan occasionally stole glances at the calm and composed man beside him, feeling a bit uncertain.
He had just kissed Gu Fei, but the man hadn’t reacted at all. He hadn’t shown any distaste, nor did he look particularly happy. His expression was simply… expressionless, Master Gu’s default state.
Gu Fei was still as considerate and thoughtful as before.
When he was getting the shot earlier, Gu Fei had even covered his eyes and coaxed him, saying it wouldn’t hurt.
Sigh… a man’s heart is like a needle in the ocean.
The two stopped downstairs at the dormitory building. An Qingyan hesitated, wanting to say something but ultimately holding back. He looked wilted, like a delicate flower beaten down by the rain.
“Um, Gu Fei ge, I’ll go back now.” After speaking, he hung his head and turned to walk towards the dorms, his back looking exactly like the aggrieved little chubby orange cat he had scolded earlier.
However, he had only taken a few steps when his wrist was grabbed. The next moment, he was pulled into a warm, solid embrace, the man’s strong arms encircling his waist.
An Qingyan looked up in astonishment at the person before him.
“Gu Fei ge…”
The coldness in the man’s brows melted into a gentle warmth, his deep gaze tender and affectionate. He slowly lowered his head and planted a light kiss on the young man’s fair, smooth forehead.
A low, magnetic voice sounded in his ear:
“This is my answer, YanYan.”
“YanYan, what have you been busy with lately? You haven’t been home in half a month. You must come home tonight; Dad and Mom miss you.”
Busy falling in love, An Qingyan thought with a grin, saying to Song Shuman on the other end of the phone, “Okay, I’ll definitely come back tonight. Mom, remember to make my favorite dishes. I want braised lion’s head meatballs, cola chicken wings, tomato beef brisket stew…”
“Alright, alright… if you could come home every day, Mom would make them for you every day.”
“Mom, I love you!”
“You and your sweet talk…”
As soon as class ended in the afternoon, the An family driver was waiting outside the school gate. An hour later, An Qingyan stepped into the house and was immediately enveloped in a passionate bear hug from his second brother.
“Little brother, when you’re not home, Second Brother has to endure double the nagging from Dad, Mom, and Big Brother. You’re finally back.”
“I express my deepest sympathy for that.”
“Dinner’s ready, you two hurry up and wash your hands!”
“Okay!”
Dinner consisted entirely of the youngest son’s favorite dishes. As the family sat together harmoniously, ready to pick up their chopsticks, An Qingyan cleared his throat, straightened his clothes, and stood up with a solemn expression. “Dad, Mom, Big Brother, Second Brother, before we eat, I have an important announcement.”
Everyone looked at him with confusion.
He pursed his lips in a shy smile. “Ahem… well, the thing is, I’m in a relationship.”
An Lingkang: “What?!”
Song Shuman: “What?!”
An Yu: “Holy cow! Little bro, you got a partner behind our backs?!”
An Jing: “Who are you dating? When did it start? Is it a classmate? How old are they? Where are they from? What does their family do? What’s their personality like?!”
An Qingyan pursed his lips shyly again and answered somewhat embarrassedly, “It started half a month ago. Not a classmate. He’s twenty-seven, also from Nancheng. His family is in business. As for his personality… a bit reserved but passionate underneath.”
Everyone thought: Why does that sound so familiar?
An Qingyan: “You all know him. His name is Gu Fei.”
Everyone: “!!!???”
…
Forty minutes later, An Qingyan appeared at the entrance of the Gu Group headquarters. Hanging his head dejectedly, he walked up to the front desk. The receptionist’s eyes lit up—where did this pretty little brother come from?
“How may I help you?”
“I want to see your President Gu.”
“Um… do you have an appointment? You can’t see President Gu without an appointment.” This pretty little brother actually wants to see Master Gu? What’s his relationship with Master Gu?
“Alright then.”
Then she saw the pretty little brother take out his phone and dial a number. A moment later, the call connected. “Gu Fei, I’m downstairs at your company…”
What? This little brother actually called Master Gu by his full name?
While the receptionist was still in shock, the little brother handed the phone to her. She took it trembling, tentatively called out “Master Gu,” and heard the man’s cold, calm voice in her ear. She immediately nodded furiously, “Yes, Master Gu, I’ll bring the gentleman up immediately! Goodbye, Master Gu!”
Who on earth is this pretty little brother?!
The receptionist respectfully led An Qingyan to the CEO’s office on the top floor. It was empty.
“President Gu is currently out discussing business. He’ll be back in about an hour. If you need anything, please let me know.”
An Qingyan looked around the office curiously, sat down casually on the sofa, and gave the receptionist a polite smile. “Then could you please get me something to eat? Thank you.”
“Certainly, please wait a moment.”
…
An hour later, Gu Fei returned from outside. As soon as he walked into the office, he smelled a distinct aroma.
He strode inside and saw his little partner lying lazily on the sofa. He was holding his phone in his left hand watching a drama, and holding a bag of spicy gluten strips in his right hand, eating while watching, looking incredibly leisurely and comfortable.
On the coffee table in front of the sofa sat a half-eaten box of fried chicken, along with french fries, cola, and several unopened bags of spicy strips. No wonder the smell was so strong.
The corner of the man’s mouth twitched slightly. If anyone else were lying so brazenly in his office eating this kind of stuff, they would have been thrown out long ago.
But only this little ancestor dared to do so.
Seeing Gu Fei, the young man on the sofa sat up with a start, immediately put down the phone and spicy strips, and got up to greet him. “Gu Fei, you’re finally back!”
“Didn’t you go home? Why did you come here all of a sudden?” As Gu Fei spoke, he leaned down to grab a tissue and carefully wiped the grease from the corner of the youth’s mouth, acting like a worrying parent. “This stuff isn’t healthy, eat less of it.”
An Qingyan: “I actually wanted to eat luosifen (river snail rice noodles), but I was afraid the whole office would smell and disturb you, so I didn’t.”
Gu Fei: “…”
“Actually… I ran away from home.” An Qingyan sighed melancholically. He sat back on the sofa, picked up the bag of spicy strips, took another bite, and mumbled incoherently:
“I confessed to my parents and brothers, told them I was dating you. They didn’t agree and even scolded you. My big brother even threatened to twist your head off. In a fit of anger, I left home without even eating dinner.”
“My mom even made my favorite braised lion’s head meatballs, cola chicken wings, tomato beef brisket stew, braised prawns… I ran out without taking a single bite.” At this point, he swallowed hard, and the spicy strip in his hand suddenly lost its appeal. “Sigh… if I had known, I would have eaten my fill before leaving.”
Gu Fei: “…”
He felt both helpless and amused; the little foodie was still thinking about eating at a time like this. He sat down next to the young man, lowered his head, and kissed his cheek. “Why did you confess without discussing it with me first?”
“I just wanted them to know sooner.”
The man raised his hand and rubbed the youth’s head. “It’s okay, I’ll resolve this matter. Don’t worry.” With that, he reached out and took the spicy strips from his hand. “Stop eating.”
An Qingyan sighed again, lowered his eyes in disappointment, and complained aggrievedly, “I ran away from home on an empty stomach for you, and you won’t even let me eat. You’re so mean!”
Gu Fei couldn’t help but laugh. “What are you thinking?”
“Let’s go home. Gu Fei ge will make you something delicious.”
“Go home? Which home?”
“Our home.”
The Gu Residence.
Butler Shen paced anxiously outside the kitchen, peeking in from time to time. These two better not burn the kitchen down. No, I should prepare a fire extinguisher just in case.
Obviously, these two wealthy young masters, who had never done a day’s housework in their lives, had no cooking experience. An Qingyan was responsible for helping out, wiping the chef’s sweat, and giving bonus hugs and kisses.
The chef was naturally Master Gu. Aside from being good at making dumplings, he was useless in the kitchen, but his learning ability was superb. He could learn and practice simultaneously while looking at recipes.
Two hours later, the two sat at the dining table, staring in unison at the dishes: braised lion’s head meatballs, cola chicken wings, tomato beef brisket stew… The presentation actually looked quite good.
An Qingyan tentatively picked up a piece of brisket and put it in his mouth. His eyes lit up immediately. He didn’t expect Gu Fei to make such delicious food on his first try following a recipe.
As expected of Master Gu!
He tasted the other dishes, and they were all good.
“So delicious! Chef Gu is amazing!”
Gu Fei watched intently as An Qingyan ate with a smile on his face, his eyes melting into tenderness. “I’ll make food for you often in the future. You can have whatever you want.”
An Qingyan: “Then I want luosifen!”
Gu Fei: “…”
After finishing the late-night snack, An Qingyan stretched, leaned back comfortably in his chair, closed his eyes, and rubbed his full belly, a satisfied smile on his beautiful face.
“I’m so full.”
Gu Fei looked at him meaningfully. “How about some exercise to help digestion?”
An Qingyan opened his eyes warily. The next second, Gu Fei swept him up into a princess carry, looking at him with the predatory gaze of a hungry wolf eyeing a little white rabbit. “Let’s go to the bedroom for exercise.”
Whimper… so this meal came with a price!
…
In the dead of night, Master Gu was coaxing the tear-stained person in his arms. “Be good, don’t cry. I won’t do it next time.”
“Liar! Big jerk!” The young man sniffled and wiped his tears, his eyes red like a rabbit’s, accusing him through sobs: “I told you it hurt, but you still wouldn’t let me go!”
“Baby, I’m sorry.” The man lowered his head and kissed the reddened corner of his eye. His deep voice was gentle and full of affection as he said word by word: “But, I can’t let you go.”
An Qingyan, you are mine.
For this lifetime.
