After Giving Up, My Rich Ex-Husband Begged Me to Return CHAPTER 109

Chapter 109

Jiang Su just stared at Jiang Zhishen, a smile not quite reaching his eyes. “You came all this way back and haven’t even been home yet, have you?”

Jiang Zhishen tugged at the brim of his baseball cap, clearing his throat in embarrassment. “Well, you know, I was just in the neighborhood…”

Jiang Su’s expression said it all: I’m waiting to hear the rest of this story.

Jiang Zhishen gave up. “I’m going to find Fu Jin first. We’ll talk later.”

With that, he bolted toward the restroom.

Jiang Su stood there for a moment, about to turn and leave.

Just as he turned, a series of loud clatters and bangs echoed from the restroom.

Jiang Su froze.

Did… did a fight just break out?

—CRASH!

Jiang Su glanced over to see the restroom door fly open. Fu Jin stormed out.

He looked furious, like he was ready for a fight. But judging by the noise, it was clear the fight was already over.

Fu Jin looked completely unscathed, which meant his third brother was… in danger?

“Jiang Su?” Fu Jin’s expression softened slightly when he saw him.

“Ah… yeah.” Jiang Su didn’t dare mention Jiang Zhishen.

Fu Jin said, “Don’t go in there. There’s a psycho inside.”

What else could Jiang Su say?

“Okay.”

The moment Fu Jin was gone, Jiang Zhishen emerged from the restroom, his head tilted back.

He really did look a bit like… a psycho.

“Third Brother, what happened to you?”

As Jiang Su asked, Jiang Zhishen walked closer, revealing two trails of blood running from his nose.

With his head tilted back, Jiang Zhishen had to strain to look at Jiang Su from the corner of his eye. “Got a tissue?”

“No.” Who brings tissues to a recording studio?

Jiang Su then let out a snort of laughter. “I never would have guessed. Mr. Fu is usually so refined, but he’s pretty rough with his old flames.”

“What do you mean, ‘old flame’?” Jiang Zhishen corrected him with a very serious tone. “We never broke up!”

Jiang Su raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. “When we leave, don’t walk with me. Act like you don’t know me.”

“Why?” Jiang Zhishen asked.

Jiang Su started walking away. “I’m afraid that when Mr. Fu finds out I’m your cousin, he’ll beat me up too.”

Jiang Zhishen caught up to him. “You’re the younger brother. What’s the big deal if your third sister-in-law hits you a little?”

Jiang Su retorted, “We haven’t seen each other in three years. Can’t you try to speak like a normal human being?”

Jiang Zhishen scoffed. “I happen to like that your third sister-in-law has a hands-on personality. It’s exciting!”

Jiang Su was speechless.

Mr. Fu wasn’t lying. This guy really is a psycho.

Jiang Su left the studio first.

After driving a short distance, he pulled over and called Jiang Zhishen. “Hurry up. I’m waiting for you at the convenience store entrance.”

A few moments later, Jiang Zhishen appeared outside the car window.

He knocked on the glass and complained under his breath as he got in, “Why’d you park so far away?”

He didn’t notice the black car that had been quietly following him, which now slowed to a stop not far behind.

Fu Jin watched with a blank expression as Jiang Zhishen got into the car.

As a host, he had a good memory.

He stared at the license plate and recognized it as Jiang Su’s car.

A cold sneer crossed his face. He slammed on the gas, speeding past Jiang Su’s car.

Jiang Su happened to be looking out the window and saw Fu Jin’s car fly by. He turned to Jiang Zhishen. “Was that Mr. Fu’s car just now?”

Jiang Zhishen’s brow furrowed. “I saw it.”

Jiang Su asked slyly, “You two broke up five years ago, and you can still recognize his car at a glance?”

Jiang Zhishen repeated with emphasis, “I told you, we didn’t break up…”

Jiang Su wanted to say, You didn’t break up, you just agreed to get married and then you bailed on him.

But on second thought, his brother had just gotten back. It was probably better not to twist the knife.

Jiang Su took Jiang Zhishen to Wangchuan.

He had already called Jiang Lichuan on the way.

By the time he and Jiang Zhishen arrived, Jiang Lichuan had food and drinks ready and had also notified Jiang Zhaoyu and Jiang Ying.

At the door of the private room, Jiang Lichuan greeted him with a wide grin. “Third Brother.”

Jiang Zhishen looked around. “Nice new business.”

“It’s alright,” Jiang Lichuan said, giving Jiang Su a look.

Jiang Su understood. He stepped forward and grabbed one of Jiang Zhishen’s arms. Jiang Lichuan immediately grabbed the other.

Then, Jiang Lichuan yelled into the room, “Eldest Brother, come out!”

Jiang Zhishen looked utterly betrayed. “What are you doing? I haven’t been home in three years, and this is how you treat me? Are we not brothers anymore?”

Jiang Zhaoyu walked out, rolling up his sleeves as he began to frisk Jiang Zhishen. “When you were using us to test your new drugs, did you ever think of us as your brothers?”

Back when they were still in school, he used to concoct his own medicines and then use the excuse of treating everyone to a meal to test them on his brothers.

At first, the effects were weak, and no one noticed. But then one time, Jiang Lichuan had diarrhea for three days after eating with Jiang Zhishen, and they finally figured out what he was up to.

Luckily, Jiang Zhishen was a pharmacy expert whose lab was basically his home, so he rarely came back over the years.

“The ones I gave you were ones I’d already tested myself. I only gave them to you after confirming there were no side effects…” Jiang Zhishen tried to explain.

Jiang Lichuan cut him off. “I had diarrhea for three days that time!”

Jiang Zhishen explained weakly, “I didn’t get diarrhea when I took it. Everyone’s body is different…”

Just then, Jiang Zhaoyu pulled a bottle of pills from Jiang Zhishen’s pocket.

“Found it.”

Jiang Ying arrived at that exact moment.

She took one look at the scene and knew what was happening.

Jiang Ying snatched the bottle. “Third Brother, you haven’t been home in three years, and this is the welcome-home gift you bring us?”

Jiang Zhishen’s enthusiasm returned. “This is my most meticulous creation yet!”

Jiang Ying gave him a look. “It would have been more romantic if you’d just brought back the empty water bottle from the plane and told us it was a bottle of air from your lab that you saved especially for us.”

As a completely clueless guy, this was a revelation for Jiang Zhishen. “I can do that?”

Jiang Ying said, “You deserve to be single.”

Hearing this, Jiang Su looked up.

Jiang Zhishen saw his expression and quickly whispered to him, “You can’t tell them about me and Fu Jin!”

Jiang Su was surprised. “Third Brother, that’s impressive. No one in the family knows about you and Fu Jin?”

“What are you two whispering about?” Jiang Ying looked back at them. “Get inside.”

As soon as they sat down, Jiang Ying asked Jiang Su with a curious look, “Xiao Qi, who was that guy in the audience at your show today? Why did he ask Fu Jin that kind of question?”

Jiang Su silently glanced at Jiang Zhishen.

Jiang Zhishen blinked at him frantically.

Jiang Su blinked back. “Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Why did he ask Mr. Fu a question like that? It made me look pretty bad.”

Jiang Ying laughed. “It’s already trending. Netizens are guessing he might be Fu Jin’s ex-boyfriend…”

She paused, her gaze falling on Jiang Zhishen. “The clothes you’re wearing, Third Brother… they look exactly the same as what that man in the audience was wearing, don’t they?”
