After Giving Up, My Rich Ex-Husband Begged Me to Return CHAPTER 145

Chapter 145: Large Insurance Policy

Jiang Su stared at Bai Mu silently for two seconds before slowly asking, “Together?”

Perhaps because Jiang Su didn’t agree immediately, Bai Mu quickly amended, “If Teacher Jiang wants to explore alone, I’m fine with that too.”

“It’s not that. I was just thinking the place I want to go might not be somewhere you’d want to visit.” Jiang Su honestly didn’t mind traveling with Bai Mu.

However, Bai Mu hadn’t even asked where he planned to go before suggesting they play together. Compared to the usually cautious and thorough Bai Mu, this seemed a bit lacking in boundaries.

Even when Jiang Licuan asked him to eat, he would first ask if he had eaten or what he wanted to eat.

Bai Mu’s expression sobered slightly, as if realizing his impropriety. “Where are you planning to go?”

Actually, before coming here, Jiang Su hadn’t made a detailed plan, but there was one place he absolutely had to visit.

“Yasgrug Canyon.”

This was a relatively obscure hiking route. Jiang Su had seen it in a travel documentary back when he was in university. There weren’t many scenes, but it left a deep impression on him.

For an adult male with normal stamina, traversing the Yasgrug Canyon would take three days. The journey would pass through snow-capped mountains and tropical primitive rainforests, with extreme climate differences.

April and May happened to be the best time for hiking.

Bai Mu was somewhat surprised. “Why do you want to go there? I heard there’s no mobile signal along the entire route, so it’s quite dangerous.”

This time it was Jiang Su’s turn to be surprised. “You know about Yasgrug Canyon?” Unless one was a hiking enthusiast, they probably wouldn’t know about such an obscure attraction.

“I happened to read about it in a magazine.” Bai Mu sighed. “It seems I won’t have the chance to play with you.”

He only had two days, while Yasgrug Canyon required three days and was physically demanding, so he couldn’t go with Jiang Su.

It was evening when the plane landed.

Since Bai Mu had also decided to travel at the last minute, he hadn’t even booked a hotel.

It was getting dark, and several hotels they asked were fully booked. Jiang Su had no choice but to take Bai Mu to the hotel he had booked.

The hotel Jiang Su booked didn’t have any spare rooms either, but fortunately, Jiang Su had booked a suite with an extra bed, so Bai Mu could stay for the night.

To thank Jiang Su for taking him in, Bai Mu treated him to dinner that night.

Bai Mu booked a lakeside restaurant with excellent scenery.

“You spent too much.” Jiang Su had looked at the menu earlier; the prices were catching up to the Qingyang Grand Hotel.

Bai Mu smiled indifferently. “Money is earned to be spent.”

After ordering the food, he also ordered a bottle of wine.

The two chatted while eating. Bai Mu shared many funny stories from filming and recording shows, and there wasn’t a single awkward silence.

Jiang Su didn’t drink much wine, not even reaching a tipsy state.

After returning to the hotel, Jiang Su contacted a local guide to discuss the trip to Yasgrug Canyon.

The guide arranged to meet and talk the next day.

Putting down his phone, Jiang Su glanced towards the bathroom, then closed his eyes slightly to rest.

The hotel’s design was a bit unreasonable; even the suite had only one bathroom.

While he was chatting with the guide earlier, Bai Mu had gone to shower first.

After a long day of travel and fatigue, Jiang Su unknowingly fell asleep.

“Jiang Su!”

Opening his eyes, he saw Bai Mu standing before him, having finished his shower and changed into pajamas.

Jiang Su rubbed the space between his eyebrows. “You’re done washing.”

“Go ahead.” Bai Mu took his phone and sat down on the sofa on the other side.

Jiang Su went straight to sleep after his shower.

Near dawn, Jiang Su vaguely sensed someone entering his room, followed by a rustling sound.

Jiang Su suddenly opened his eyes and sat up in bed.

“Who is it!”

Bai Mu, who was closing the window, turned his head. “Awake?”

Jiang Su frowned. “What are you doing in my room?”

“I was a little hungry and wanted to ask you to get breakfast together. Seeing you weren’t awake yet, I thought I’d close the window for you.”

Bai Mu glanced out the window as he spoke. “The wind is too strong today.”

Jiang Su followed his gaze out the window; the wind was indeed strong.

“Wait a moment, I’ll go wash my face and change clothes.”

Bai Mu watched Jiang Su enter the bathroom, then reached into his pocket to take out his phone.

His fingers swiped across the screen a few times, and a smile appeared on his face.

Jiang Su met with the guide.

For risky hiking routes like this, it was generally safer to hire a guide and form a team.

Unfortunately, their group was already full.

But on his way back, Jiang Su received a call from the guide: “The boss said we can add one more person.”

Jiang Su turned back, only to learn that the boss had seen his movie and liked him very much, deciding to go to Yasgrug Canyon with him and wanting to take a photo together.

They decided to gather and set off early the next morning.

When he went back to pack that night, Bai Mu knew he was leaving early in the morning. “I rented a car. I’ll drive you there tomorrow morning.”

“Thank you then.” It was indeed hard to get a taxi so early, so Jiang Su had no reason to refuse.

Before setting off, Jiang Su sent a message to the family group chat.

Jiang Su: “You might not be able to reach me for the next three days. Don’t panic, I just went to Yasgrug Canyon.”

Jiang Licuan: “Did you buy insurance? Who is the beneficiary? [Sinister]”

Jiang Su: “I found a professional guide, and the route is safe this season. The insurance beneficiary is my eldest brother, thank you.”

Jiang Zhaoyu: “Is it a large insurance policy? Listen to your brother, buy a big one, the payout is higher.”

Jiang Su: “??” Shouldn’t they be telling him to be safe at a time like this? Truly his biological brother, eyes only for the insurance money.

Jiang Su: “Sorry to disturb, farewell!!”

Huo Group.

As soon as the meeting ended, Huo Qingyan got up and walked out.

Zhou Fu followed close behind. His phone rang after just a few steps.

Zhou Fu answered the call as he walked, ending it just as he entered Huo Qingyan’s office.

Huo Qingyan sat down behind his desk and looked up to find Zhou Fu with a strange expression.

“What happened?”

“Bai Mu took the same flight as Mr. Jiang to go abroad the day before yesterday.”

Huo Qingyan paused as he was about to open a document. “Didn’t you say yesterday that Bai Mu was still recording a show in Qingyang?”

Huo Qingyan knew about Jiang Su traveling abroad.

Because Jiang Su had posted on Moments.

Although Huo Qingyan still subconsciously felt uneasy about Jiang Su traveling alone, he no longer had the right to control him.

Moreover, Jiang Su had grown up; he wasn’t a teenage boy anymore and had long been independent.

Later, thinking that Xu Mocun might be accompanying Jiang Su, he felt slightly more relieved.
