After Giving Up, My Rich Ex-Husband Begged Me to Return CHAPTER 151

Chapter 151: Your Tie Is Crooked

Jiang Su used to say that Shen Xiumo was a shady profiteer.

But if they were really comparing notes, Huo Qingyan was even worse.

He was just much more subtle about it.

There had to be a reason for acknowledging Bai Mu and bringing him back to the Huo family in such a high-profile manner. Jiang Su didn’t believe a word of Huo Qingyan’s public nonsense about being “tired” or Bai Mu being his “only relative.”

“Bai Mu wanted it, so I just went with the flow and gave it to him. I have been a bit tired these past few years.” This was Huo Qingyan’s carefully considered answer.

But when he turned his head, he found Jiang Su’s face was clearly stamped with the words: Keep making things up.

Huo Qingyan put a hand to his lips and coughed lightly to hide his awkwardness.

“Did he use me to threaten you?” As soon as the words left his mouth, Jiang Su felt it sounded a bit… too narcissistic.

But combining the encounter with Bai Mu at the airport earlier, and everything that had happened up to today, Jiang Su couldn’t help but think in that direction.

It seemed the only thing that could checkmate Huo Qingyan was this.

At this point, Huo Qingyan no longer denied it. “It wasn’t entirely because of you.”

Jiang Su couldn’t be bothered listening to his excuses. “Let’s go!”

Huo Qingyan: “Hmm?”

“Go transfer the equity back to your name right now. You go to the shareholder meeting yourself on Monday!” Jiang Su urged him. “Drive.”

Huo Qingyan didn’t move.

Just as Jiang Su began calculating the probability of successfully tying Huo Qingyan up and dragging him to sign the paperwork, he heard Huo Qingyan say in a muffled voice, “There is no logic in taking back something that has already been given away.”

Jiang Su: “…”

Huo Qingyan changed the subject with an indifferent expression. “What do you want to eat?”

He assumed Jiang Su hadn’t eaten much on the way here and must be hungry by now, so he brought Jiang Su directly to the Qingyang Grand Hotel for a meal.

“Who wants to eat with you!” Jiang Su unbuckled his seatbelt and said coldly, “Don’t contact me until you agree to transfer the shares back.”

As soon as the car stopped, Jiang Su got out, hailed another taxi, and left.

After the taxi had driven some distance, Jiang Su realized that while he had taken the equity transfer documents, his luggage was still in Huo Qingyan’s car…

Jiang Su reached up and pressed his temples.

Headache…

He could never figure out what Huo Qingyan was thinking.

“Sir, where to?” the driver in front asked.

Jiang Su thought for a moment. “Wangchuan.”

For a matter this big, he needed someone to discuss it with.

When he arrived at Wangchuan, he found that Jiang Licuan wasn’t in the shop.

The staff all knew Jiang Su and greeted him enthusiastically.

Jiang Su ordered some food and went into a private room.

While waiting for the dishes, Jiang Su sent a message to the group chat.

Jiang Su: “I’m back.”

Jiang Su: “@Old Six, I’m at your place.”

Old Six: “Why are you back so suddenly?”

Second Sister: “Why not play for a few more days?”

Jiang Su: “Someone notified me to attend the Huo Group’s shareholder meeting.”

Fourth Sister: “??”

Eldest Brother: “??”

Jiang Su took a photo of the share transfer agreement and sent it to the group.

He was waiting for his brothers and sisters to give him advice, but what he got instead was…

[Second Sister has left the group.]

[Third Brother has left the group.]

[Fourth Sister has left the group.]

In the end, only Jiang Su and Jiang Zhaoyu were left in the chat.

Jiang Su: “Brother, why did they all leave?”

Two seconds later, Jiang Zhaoyu sent a message: “They said the gap in net worth is too big now, and they aren’t worthy of staying in the same group as you. I’m leaving too.”

[Eldest Brother has left the group.]

Jiang Su: …

Half an hour later.

Jiang Zhaoyu, Jiang Ying, and the others arrived at Wangchuan.

The first sentence upon entering the door was: “Let us see the share transfer agreement.”

After Jiang Su handed it over, he ate his meal while watching them form a circle to study the document, occasionally whispering amongst themselves.

After a while, once they finished reading, they scattered and sat around the edges of the room, falling silent.

The atmosphere was solemn.

Jiang Su silently put down his chopsticks and asked quietly, “Don’t you guys have anything to say?”

They all shook their heads collectively.

Jiang Su: “…”

Jiang Zhaoyu sighed and spoke seriously, “We won’t interfere in your affairs with Huo Qingyan anymore.”

Jiang Ying: “Handle it however you see fit.”

Jiang Zhishen: “You’re an adult now; make your own decisions about your own affairs.”

Jiang Licuan: “Don’t forget us when you’re rich.”

They hadn’t expected Huo Qingyan to be crazy enough to hand over his entire ancestral foundation directly to Jiang Su.

This was something they couldn’t manage.

Monday…

Seven o’clock in the morning.

Jiang Su stood before the bathroom sink, expressionlessly brushing his teeth in front of the mirror.

Damn it, Huo Qingyan hasn’t contacted me for days!

This dog of a man had perfectly gauged his psychology, knowing for sure that he would attend the shareholder meeting.

The Huo Group was an ancestral legacy, a massive business empire. If it were really handed over to Bai Mu, it was only a matter of time before it was squandered.

It wasn’t just about the rise and fall of a family business; it involved the fate of countless employees under the group and the development of emerging industries…

He understood the logic, but the more he thought about it, the angrier he got.

Jiang Su dug out a suit and leather shoes he hadn’t worn in a long time. When he finished getting ready and opened his door, he saw Huo Qingyan, also dressed in a suit and leather shoes, standing at the doorway.

Jiang Su asked him, “Thought it through?”

Huo Qingyan’s gaze landed on his collar. “I’m taking you to the shareholder meeting.”

“I have my own car.” He had thought Huo Qingyan had come to his senses and agreed to transfer the shares back.

Huo Qingyan didn’t speak; he just followed him into the elevator.

Jiang Su could feel Huo Qingyan glancing at him from time to time.

Even after they exited the elevator, Huo Qingyan was still looking.

Jiang Su looked down at himself. He was wearing a very formal suit today, and his shirt and tie looked perfectly normal.

Jiang Su asked fiercely, “What are you looking at?”

“Your tie is crooked.” Huo Qingyan stepped closer.

Before Jiang Su could react, Huo Qingyan had already reached out to fix his tie.

Standing so close, Jiang Su froze, smelling the faint scent of tobacco on Huo Qingyan.

Jiang Su looked at him. “Did you smoke?”

Huo Qingyan’s hand paused while adjusting the tie. “Mm.”

While waiting downstairs for Jiang Su earlier, he had felt somewhat anxious.

He knew Jiang Su would go to the shareholder meeting.

But he was afraid Jiang Su was genuinely angry.

After smoking two cigarettes and finding his anxiety unsoothed, he simply came upstairs to wait at the door.

“Chain smoker!” Starting to smoke so early in the morning.

Huo Qingyan lowered his eyes slightly, a faint smile playing on his lips.

Because they were so close, Jiang Su noticed that subtle smile.

The anger suppressed in Jiang Su’s heart bubbled up again. “Done yet?”

“Done.”

As his voice fell, Huo Qingyan took a step back.

Jiang Su subconsciously touched his tie. “Thanks.”

His tone was a bit awkward.

Huo Qingyan smiled and followed him.

The shareholder meeting was at ten o’clock. Since it was still early, Huo Qingyan took him for breakfast.

When they arrived at the entrance of the Huo Group building, Jiang Su hesitated to get out of the car.

Huo Qingyan turned his head to study him for a moment, asking in a low voice, “Nervous?”
