After Giving Up, My Rich Ex-Husband Begged Me to Return Chapter 20

Chapter 20: The Answer Is Obvious

Jiang Su’s reaction was as Huo Qingyan expected.

He smiled contentedly: “You know what I like to eat.”

Huo Qingyan knew better than anyone how attentive Jiang Su was to him, and naturally knew his preferences inside and out.

Jiang Su never hid his affection for Huo Qingyan, but hearing Huo Qingyan say it like this still made his ears redden slightly.

Jiang Su had fair skin, so his reddened ears were very noticeable.

Huo Qingyan knew that Jiang Su’s ears would turn red when he was shy.

He remembered the first time he saw Jiang Su.

The fourteen-year-old boy, clean and pure like a young poplar tree, had blushed just from Huo Qingyan’s glance, unable to look him in the eye.

At that time, Huo Qingyan had only thought, “Whose child is this? So beautiful yet so timid; pitifully endearing.”

Now, the boy from back then had grown into a tall, handsome young man, still pitifully endearing.

When he spoke, Huo Qingyan’s voice was a little hoarse: “Come here.”

At this moment, Jiang Su was so happy his heart was bubbling; he naturally did whatever Huo Qingyan said.

He obediently went around the desk and walked to Huo Qingyan.

Huo Qingyan pulled him into his arms and sat him on his lap.

Jiang Su’s ears reddened even more: “What are you doing?”

“What do you think?” Huo Qingyan tilted his head slightly, his thin lips lightly approaching his ears, red as if they were about to bleed.

Although he hadn’t actually touched his ears, only feeling the warmth of Huo Qingyan’s breath, it made Jiang Su almost faint into Huo Qingyan’s arms.

“I…” Jiang Su’s mind went blank, and he could only manage a single word.

Huo Qingyan chuckled softly; his laughter was pleasant and alluring: “You already know, don’t you?”

Huo Qingyan usually spoke with an extremely cold tone, but once he lowered his voice, there was an indescribable gentleness.

Jiang Su’s breathing grew heavy: “Go to the bedroom.”

“Right here.” Huo Qingyan gently pinched his reddened ears, his voice full of temptation: “I want it here.”

Jiang Su couldn’t resist; he couldn’t utter a word of refusal.

It was the middle of the night when they returned to the bedroom.

As Jiang Su drifted off to sleep, he vaguely heard Huo Qingyan get up to answer a phone call.

But he was too tired to care what Huo Qingyan said and fell into a deep sleep.

When he woke up, it was morning.

Even though they’d been somewhat indulgent the previous night, the biological clock he and Huo Qingyan had cultivated over time still made him wake up on time.

The space beside him was empty.

He reached out to touch it and found the bed beside him cold.

Jiang Su then remembered that Huo Qingyan seemed to be on a phone call when he fell asleep. Had Huo Qingyan left after the call and hadn’t returned?

Who could call Huo Qingyan in the middle of the night and make him rush out?

The answer was obvious.

A chill instantly spread through Jiang Su’s limbs.

Jiang Su took out his phone, found Huo Qingyan’s number, but hesitated to call.

Huo Qingyan had said last night that he would try to come home for dinner and that he would take him to the hot spring resort.

Wasn’t this already good enough?

This was something Jiang Su had never dared to dream of before.

If he made this call, everything would be gone.

Half an hour later.

Jiang Su made breakfast and called Huo Qingyan.

“Awake?” Huo Qingyan’s voice was hoarse, clearly having stayed up all night.

As if nothing had happened, Jiang Su’s tone was calm and gentle: “I’ve been up for a while. I’ve already made breakfast. Why did you go to the company so early? Should I bring you breakfast?”

Huo Qingyan had prepared for Jiang Su to question him; he even had his answer ready.

But Jiang Su actually thought he’d gone to the company.

Huo Qingyan pondered for two seconds and chose not to explain: “No need to bring it to the company. I’ll have Zhou Fu come home and get it.”

“Okay.” Jiang Su hung up the phone obediently.

On the other end, Huo Qingyan stared at the hung-up phone, slightly lost in thought.

Lin Siyue, lying in the hospital bed, asked: “Jiang Su’s call?”

“Mm.” Huo Qingyan withdrew from his thoughts. His expression didn’t change much, but his tone was gentler: “How are you feeling?”

“The wound still hurts a little, now that the medication has worn off.” Lin Siyue smiled: “It’s not a big deal.”

“I’ll call the doctor over.” Huo Qingyan got up and walked out.

The Lin family had recently had some trouble; Lin Siyue had to attend various social events to salvage the situation.

Last night, someone had gotten drunk and caused trouble; Lin Siyue was quite badly injured, so he called Huo Qingyan.

As Huo Qingyan walked out of the ward, Zhou Fu arrived.

“Mr. Huo.” Zhou Fu bowed respectfully.

Huo Qingyan instructed him: “Go to my house and get a breakfast.”

“Yes.” Zhou Fu appeared calm on the surface, but his heart was churning.

Early in the morning, Mr. Huo was at the hospital taking care of Mr. Lin.

Then, Mr. Huo instructed him to go home and get breakfast.

The breakfast must have been made by Mr. Jiang. Mr. Jiang knew Mr. Huo was at the hospital taking care of Mr. Lin, and yet still made breakfast?

The hospital was some distance from Huo Qingyan’s villa.

Jiang Su waited for a while before he saw Zhou Fu’s figure.

“Mr. Jiang.” Zhou Fu was always polite to Jiang Su.

Not only because of Huo Qingyan, but also because Jiang Su was genuinely a good person.

“This is breakfast.” Jiang Su took out the pre-packed breakfast and handed it to Zhou Fu.

Zhou Fu’s expression was complex as he accepted it.

Judging by Jiang Su’s expression, he probably didn’t know that Mr. Huo was at the hospital taking care of Mr. Lin.

Jiang Su, seemingly oblivious to Zhou Fu’s complex expression, instructed him, “Make sure Huo Qingyan eats his breakfast. When he’s working, he easily forgets to eat.”

“Yes.” Zhou Fu nodded slightly.

Jiang Su stood at the door, watching Zhou Fu’s car disappear before putting on his coat and going to the underground parking garage to drive a car he rarely used.

Jiang Su followed Zhou Fu, all the way to the hospital.

Huo Qingyan was still at the hospital; Zhou Fu naturally delivered the breakfast there.

“Mr. Huo, your breakfast.”

When Jiang Su arrived, Zhou Fu was handing the breakfast to Huo Qingyan.

After delivering the breakfast, Zhou Fu stood aside without speaking.

Lin Siyue, lying in the hospital bed, saw Huo Qingyan open the breakfast box and curiously asked, “Did Jiang Su make this breakfast? His cooking is really good; it makes me hungry.”

Although he already had a hunch, seeing Lin Siyue with his own eyes still made Jiang Su feel extremely miserable.

Last night, Huo Qingyan had been intimate with him one moment and rushed out the next to answer Lin Siyue’s call.

“Hungry? Zhou Fu…” Huo Qingyan turned to instruct Zhou Fu to buy breakfast, but was interrupted by Lin Siyue.

Lin Siyue smiled, “May I try Jiang Su’s cooking?”
