Chapter 23: More and More Annoying
“Where are you going?” Jiang Ying quickly stood up to stop him, her expression tense.
Jiang Su saw that Jiang Ying knew he was going to see Huo Qingyan: “Don’t worry, I know what to do.”
Jiang Ying was still uneasy: “I’ll go with you.”
Jiang Su shook his head, his eyes unusually firm: “I’m not a child anymore; I’ve grown up.”
Jiang Ying could only give up, sending him out with a worried face.
…
The Huo Corporation wasn’t unfamiliar to Jiang Su.
Because he had spent most of his free time waiting outside the Huo Corporation, just to catch a glimpse of Huo Qingyan.
Jiang Su parked his car at the entrance and called Zhou Fu.
Zhou Fu answered quickly: “Mr. Jiang?”
“I’m coming to the company to find Huo Qingyan. Please tell the front desk to let me in. Thank you.” After the experience at the Qinyang Grand Hotel, Jiang Su knew that he wouldn’t be able to get in if he simply walked in.
After hearing Jiang Su’s words, Zhou Fu was silent for a moment before speaking: “Okay.”
As an employee, Zhou Fu felt embarrassed for Huo Qingyan. His own husband had to go through his assistant to get into his own company…
Jiang Su hung up the phone and walked inside.
As expected, he was stopped by the front desk.
“Sir, do you have an appointment?”
Jiang Su smiled, “No.”
At this moment, the front desk’s phone rang. Another receptionist answered the phone and looked at Jiang Su.
Jiang Su knew that this call was from Zhou Fu.
The receptionist hung up the phone and came out, saying politely, “Mr. Jiang, this way, please.”
She led Jiang Su to the elevator and pressed the button for the top floor.
As soon as Jiang Su got out of the elevator, he saw Zhou Fu.
“Mr. Jiang.”
Jiang Su nodded slightly in response.
Zhou Fu led Jiang Su towards Huo Qingyan’s office: “Mr. Huo is still meeting with guests. Mr. Jiang, please have a seat in the office first; Mr. Huo will be finished soon.”
Jiang Su: “Okay.”
Counting it, this was the first time Jiang Su had been to Huo Qingyan’s office.
Although he had been following Huo Qingyan like a shadow, he had never chased him to his company before.
He knew Huo Qingyan was busy and was afraid that his presence would be disruptive and upset Huo Qingyan.
Huo Qingyan’s office, like himself, was rigorous and meticulous, lacking warmth.
Jiang Su merely walked around the room, touching nothing, and sat quietly on the sofa, waiting for Huo Qingyan to return.
After settling Jiang Su in Huo Qingyan’s office, Zhou Fu personally made a cup of coffee and brought it in before going to the meeting room to find Huo Qingyan.
Huo Qingyan had just finished the meeting. Zhou Fu sent the guests away before quietly telling Huo Qingyan, “Mr. Huo, Mr. Jiang is here.”
Huo Qingyan, who was about to pick up a glass of water, paused, “Jiang Su is here?”
Zhou Fu: “He’s in your office waiting for you now.”
Huo Qingyan then got up and walked towards his office.
As soon as he opened the door, he saw Jiang Su sitting quietly on the sofa.
Jiang Su was wearing a white down jacket and blue jeans, simple and clean, looking rather student-like.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, Jiang Su looked up at him and his gaze rested on him.
Huo Qingyan unconsciously quickened his pace.
Walking in front of Jiang Su, Huo Qingyan asked, “Aren’t you hot?”
The room’s heating was on full blast, and Jiang Su’s down jacket looked rather thick.
Jiang Su was slightly startled, but didn’t speak; he silently took off his jacket and put it aside.
Huo Qingyan turned and walked towards his desk, saying as he walked, “I have meetings all morning.”
He thought Jiang Su was bored at home, so he came to the company to find him.
But he was very busy with a full schedule and didn’t have time to accompany Jiang Su.
“Huo Qingyan.”
Hearing Jiang Su suddenly call his name seriously, he paused.
Turning around, he found Jiang Su had already stood up.
Jiang Su looked into Huo Qingyan’s eyes and said earnestly, “You should know that a lot of people’s hard work goes into making a movie from production to release.”
Huo Qingyan was exceptionally intelligent.
Hearing Jiang Su say this, he understood the purpose of his visit.
Huo Qingyan’s eyes instantly sharpened; he scrutinized Jiang Su for a moment before asking coldly, “Did Cheng Xishi ask you to come find me?”
They had been married for two years, and he had never come to the company to find him. This was the first time, and it was for another man.
Jiang Su could sense Huo Qingyan’s anger.
He had a strong aura, and when he was angry, his oppressive presence was even stronger.
Under Huo Qingyan’s powerful aura, Jiang Su didn’t back down.
“Even if it weren’t Cheng Xishi, if it were another friend and I could help, I would.”
However, unconsciously clenching his hands, he betrayed his nervousness.
Huo Qingyan had never seen Jiang Su like this, arguing his case so resolutely.
The more he looked at him, the more annoyed he became.
Huo Qingyan laughed angrily.
He took a long stride and slowly walked in front of Jiang Su.
Jiang Su was so nervous that even his breathing was light.
Suddenly, Huo Qingyan pinched his chin, his voice icy, “After knowing each other for so many years, I didn’t know that the young master of the Jiang family was so chivalrous.”
His grip was a little strong, and Jiang Su’s chin hurt.
Based on his past interactions with Huo Qingyan, he knew that anything he said would provoke him at this point.
Therefore, he chose to remain silent.
His silence displeased Huo Qingyan.
“Why aren’t you speaking? Beg me, and I might let Cheng Xishi off.”
Huo Qingyan tightened his grip, his tone growing colder.
Jiang Su hissed in pain but didn’t cry out.
Moreover, he softened his tone and said to Huo Qingyan, “I won’t smoke again, and I won’t mention Lin Siyue again.”
He remembered that Huo Qingyan was angry because he smoked and mentioned Lin Siyue.
Cheng Xishi and Huo Qingyan had no conflict; he only targeted Cheng Xishi because Jiang Su had angered him.
Jiang Su’s appeasement was effective.
He loosened his grip slightly, saying unhappily, “Anything else?”
They were very close; Jiang Su slightly raised his eyes and could look directly into Huo Qingyan’s eyes.
His eyes were very dark, unfathomable, all emotions hidden, making one feel apprehensive after prolonged contact.
Jiang Su had never been able to understand his thoughts; he usually had to guess.
“I’ll cut off all contact with him.” He didn’t know if his guess was right this time.
Huo Qingyan released his hand; although his expression remained unchanged, his eyes had clearly softened.
Jiang Su knew he’d guessed right.
He touched his numb chin and found that Huo Qingyan was still staring at him.
Jiang Su understood and took out his phone.
In front of Huo Qingyan, he blocked Cheng Xishi’s phone number and WeChat.
Then, he held up his phone and asked Huo Qingyan, “Is that okay now?”
