After Giving Up, My Rich Ex-Husband Begged Me to Return CHAPTER 56

Chapter 56: Disappearance

The meeting lasted all day.

In the evening, Shen Xiumo treated the entire production team to dinner.

Fu Jin sat diagonally opposite Jiang Su, turning his head to talk to the person beside him.

Jiang Su looked at Fu Jin’s profile, slightly lost in thought.

Fu Jin turned his head casually, meeting Jiang Su’s gaze, and asked, “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Mr. Fu, haven’t we met somewhere before?” He had looked at Fu Jin’s profile, the more he looked, the more familiar it felt.

Fu Jin was stunned, with an expression of “Don’t try to get close to me,” “No.”

Then, he went back to talking to the person next to him.

Xu Mo said softly, “Su Su, Fu Jin is a very individualistic person, getting close to him is useless. Moreover, don’t you think your way of getting close is a little cliché?”

“I wasn’t trying to get close to him. Do you think I’m afraid of him?” Jiang Su casually used Jiang Ying’s catchphrase, “Do you look down on me?”

Xu Mo: … Scared, scared.

The phone Jiang Su had placed beside his water cup lit up.

It was a WeChat message from his third brother, Jiang Zhi Shen.

Third Brother: “Xiao Qi, what are you doing?”

Jiang Su said to Xu Mo in astonishment, “Isn’t it strange, my third brother, whose mind is only on research, is proactively sending a WeChat message to greet me?”

Xu Mo: “When something unusual happens, there must be a reason.”

Jiang Su: “My third brother doesn’t have that many bad intentions.”

After saying that, he replied to Jiang Zhi Shen.

Jiang Su: “I’m out to dinner with the production team.”

Jiang Zhi Shen: “Many people? Is it lively?”

Jiang Su: “Yeah.”

Jiang Zhi Shen: “Take a video and show me.”

Jiang Su took a video and sent it over.

Jiang Zhi Shen: “It doesn’t seem like many people. Didn’t you film everyone from the production team?”

Jiang Su didn’t think much of it and took his phone to film around, capturing everyone from the production team.

Jiang Zhi Shen: “There seem to be quite a lot of people.”

Jiang Su felt something was wrong.

Third Brother didn’t seem to be simply greeting him, but rather wanted to see the people in his production team.

Jiang Su carefully watched the two videos again and didn’t find anything different.

He asked Xu Mo to help him, “Take a look, is there anything different between these two videos?”

After Xu Mo watched it, he pointed at the video, “Fu Jin is in the second video, but not in the first one.”

“Mr. Fu?” Jiang Su’s eyes lit up, “I remember where I’ve seen Mr. Fu before.”

Xu Mo: “Where?”

Jiang Su glanced at Fu Jin, lowered his voice, and said to Xu Mo, “In my third brother’s wallet!”

It was many years ago, so he didn’t recognize Fu Jin at first sight.

Xu Mo: (⊙o⊙) …

Jiang Su murmured, “Mr. Fu announced his marriage and then broke it off. Wasn’t it because of my third brother?”

Xu Mo looked at Jiang Su with deep eyes, “Fu Jin was interviewed when he announced his marriage, and he seemed quite happy. This means the reason the marriage fell apart is because of your third brother.”

Jiang Su smoothly followed up, “My third brother dumped Mr. Fu?”

Xu Mo nodded, “It should be so.”

Jiang Su decided to ask Jiang Zhi Shen again.

Jiang Su: “Third Brother, do you know Fu Jin?”

Above the chat box, it showed “The other party is typing…” and then there was no more movement.

This ghosting was slick.

Jiang Zhi Shen’s reaction perfectly confirmed Jiang Su’s guess.

When the dinner ended, Jiang Su simply said a distant “Goodbye, Mr. Fu” and quickly pulled Xu Mo away.

Thinking that his third brother had dumped Fu Jin on his wedding day, Jiang Su felt inexplicably a little guilty.

Fu Jin felt baffled.

What’s wrong with kids nowadays? He was getting friendly with him just now, and now he’s running away as if he’d seen a ghost.

Has his reputation reached the point where kids would run away from him?

After Fu Jin was out of sight, Jiang Su touched his face and asked Xu Mo, “Don’t my third brother and I look alike?”

Xu Mo studied him for a moment, “Not exactly.”

Jiang Su: “?”

Xu Mo explained, “It means that anyone who knows both of you can tell you two look alike.”

Jiang Su pursed his lips, “Forget it. I’ll just let Mr. Fu win a bit on the show, after all, he almost became my third sister-in-law.”

Xu Mo: “Whatever you say.”

A familiar voice suddenly sounded.

“Mr. Jiang.”

When Jiang Su looked up, Zhou Fu was already walking towards him nervously.

It was obvious that he had been waiting here on purpose.

Jiang Su hesitated for a moment before speaking, “Mr. Zhou?”

What kind of boss you have, you’ll have that kind of subordinate.

Huo Qingyan was a work machine, so Zhou Fu wasn’t much better.

He was practically inseparable from Huo Qingyan, always on call, where Huo Qingyan was, he was there.

Jiang Su looked around and didn’t see Huo Qingyan.

He thought that the night before, he had made things very clear to Huo Qingyan, and Huo Qingyan shouldn’t be shamelessly clinging to him again.

Zhou Fu spoke with difficulty, “There’s a very difficult matter, and I’d like to ask Mr. Jiang for help…”

“Wait…” Xu Mo interrupted Zhou Fu, frowning, “How did you know we were here?”

Zhou Fu replied politely, “I saw it in Mr. Shen’s Moments.”

Jiang Su looked at Zhou Fu, “Shen Xiumo?”

“Yes.” Zhou Fu explained, “Mr. Shen wanted to invite me to be his assistant before.”

Jiang Su: …

Is this the treatment of a top-level assistant?

Being fought over by big shots…

Jiang Su sighed briefly, his voice sinking, “You know it’s difficult for me, yet you still came to find me.”

Zhou Fu paused, speaking apologetically, “I really have no other choice. Mr. Huo hasn’t been to the company for several days, and I can’t contact him.”

He had been following Huo Qingyan for five years and had never experienced such a situation.

Zhou Fu was worried that something had happened to Huo Qingyan.

Besides Jiang Su, he didn’t know who else to ask for help.

Jiang Su frowned slightly, “Have you checked his house and the Qingyang Grand Hotel?”

He didn’t think Huo Qingyan would mysteriously disappear because of what he said.

Huo Qingyan wasn’t that fragile.

“We’ve checked both places, and we haven’t found him.” Zhou Fu, besides Jiang Su, was the person who understood Huo Qingyan best, “I’ve checked everywhere I could.”

Jiang Su asked again, “What about the Huo family’s old house? Have you contacted Mr. Huo?”

Zhou Fu nodded, “I’ve contacted Mr. Huo, but he doesn’t care about Mr. Huo’s whereabouts. I also went to the old house, and the butler said he’s been closed off to visitors recently, and I didn’t see him.”

Although Jiang Su had already seen how ruthless Huo Zhenheng was towards Huo Qingyan.

But hearing Zhou Fu say this, he was still somewhat shocked.
