After Giving Up, My Rich Ex-Husband Begged Me to Return CHAPTER 60

Chapter 60: You Can Say Thank You?

Xu Mocheng wasn’t necessarily worried about Huo Qingyan being a patient.

He just thought Huo Qingyan was so weak he looked like he could die at any moment; if Jiang Su angered him to death, what then?

Wouldn’t Jiang Su be implicated in a death?

“What’s wrong with saying a few words?” Jiang Su snorted: “I’m his lifesaver.”

Xu Mocheng: “…” You’re loud, so you’re right.

Huo Qingyan quietly watched Jiang Su, his eyes calm.

Jiang Su raised an eyebrow: “What? Am I wrong?”

Huo Qingyan’s voice was almost inaudible: “No.”

Jiang Su gave Huo Qingyan a wry smile: “Lin Siyue was your lifesaver, and you treated him like an ancestor. I not only saved you but also helped you get rid of Huo Zhenheng. Think about how you can repay my life-saving grace!”

Huo Qingyan nodded seriously.

Huo Qingyan remained silent, like a mute. Jiang Su found it boring and turned to Xu Mocheng: “I’m hungry; let’s go eat.”

Leaving the ward, Jiang Su felt Huo Qingyan watching him.

He tightened his lips and quickened his pace.

Once out of the ward, Xu Mocheng excitedly asked Jiang Su, “You really want Huo Qingyan to serve you?”

Jiang Su hummed: “Make him massage my shoulders and bring me foot baths.”

Xu Mocheng: “Hey, that sounds kind of exciting.”

He hadn’t expected Xu Mocheng to believe him; he was taken aback, saying, “I’m not a psychopath like Huo Zhenheng.”

He didn’t enjoy humiliating others.

He just felt Huo Qingyan seemed unwilling to live.

He’d carried Huo Qingyan out of the basement and offended Huo Zhenheng; if Huo Qingyan actually died, he’d feel he’d lost out.

After two days, Jiang Su notified Zhou Fu to care for Huo Qingyan at the hospital.

There was more than a week until filming for After Divorce, Are You Happy? began. Xu Mocheng, this Casanova, finally found Jiang Su some advertising endorsements and events in his “sea.”

Jiang Su was busy filming commercials for the next few days.

When he finished filming and was returning, he happened to pass the hospital where Huo Qingyan was.

Xu Mocheng recognized it: “Should we drop by and see Huo Qingyan?”

Jiang Su looked at Xu Mocheng in surprise: “You’re so concerned about him?”

Xu Mocheng smiled somewhat perversely: “I just want to know how his recovery is going, and see him bringing you foot baths.”

Jiang Su was silent for a few seconds: “Da Xu, don’t you think you’re getting more and more perverted?”

Xu Mocheng chuckled, glancing casually out the window, and saw a familiar face.

He pointed to Jiang LiChuan getting out of a car, asking Jiang Su, “SuSu, isn’t that your sixth brother?”

“Yes.” Jiang LiChuan usually wore flashy clothes; his light green shirt was particularly eye-catching.

Xu Mocheng muttered to himself: “He doesn’t look sick; what’s he doing at the hospital?”

Jiang Su thought for a moment, feeling uneasy: “Let’s go see.”

They quietly followed Jiang LiChuan, all the way to Huo Qingyan’s ward.

“Your sixth brother is visiting Huo Qingyan?” Xu Mocheng asked Jiang Su.

Jiang Su said darkly: “To be precise, Lao Liu probably came to see if Huo Qingyan is dead.”

Jiang Su knew Jiang LiChuan’s personality best.

Though he didn’t know how Jiang LiChuan learned that Huo Qingyan was hospitalized, he knew he wasn’t there out of concern.

As soon as Jiang Su finished speaking, Jiang LiChuan opened Huo Qingyan’s ward door and swaggered in.

The next second, a slightly disappointed voice came from the ward: “Huo Qingyan, you’re not dead yet?”

Xu Mocheng almost burst out laughing: “SuSu, you know your sixth brother too well.”

Jiang Su was also helpless.

They grew up together; it was impossible not to know each other well.

Huo Qingyan’s injuries were superficial. After two days, though still weak, his spirit had improved significantly.

Leaning on the bed, he said indifferently: “I disappointed Jiang Liu Shao (Sixth Young Master Jiang).”

Jiang LiChuan nodded: “I’m quite disappointed.”

Zhou Fu silently stood aside, drinking water, trying to minimize his presence.

But Jiang LiChuan had to involve him: “Special Assistant Zhou, look at your Mr. Huo, he’s so badly injured he’s almost gone. Aren’t you considering coming to work for me?”

Zhou Fu twitched his lips. Raising his head, he maintained his polite expression: “The doctor said Mr. Huo is recovering well.”

Jiang LiChuan smiled: “It’s fine; I can wait for you to change your mind.”

Zhou Fu felt Jiang LiChuan’s words were strange.

Even Huo Qingyan glanced thoughtfully at Zhou Fu.

Zhou Fu: “…” He felt he should explain something, but didn’t know how.

Jiang Su thought Jiang LiChuan had had enough fun, so he pushed open the door and entered.

“Xiao Qi?” Jiang LiChuan nervously straightened up.

Zhou Fu also called out, “Mr. Jiang.”

After greeting Zhou Fu, Jiang Su turned to Huo Qingyan: “How are you feeling?”

He’d come, so he had to ask.

From the moment Jiang Su entered, Huo Qingyan’s gaze had been fixed on him: “The doctor said I’ll be discharged soon.”

Huo Qingyan still had his usual indifferent expression, but his tone was unusually serious, like a student called on by the teacher.

Jiang Su made a noncommittal sound: “That’s good.”

Huo Qingyan clenched and released his hand resting on the covers, then spoke, “Thank you.”

He had always known Jiang Su was kind-hearted.

He first saw Jiang Su in the back garden of a private party; Jiang Su had helped a girl, only to get trapped himself.

At the time, he thought Jiang Su’s personality would cause him trouble.

Over the years, he watched Jiang Su get into high school, then Qingyang Film Academy, debut, and become incredibly popular.

He had occasional setbacks, but generally, things went smoothly.

If not for marrying him, Jiang Su should have continued smoothly.

He was Jiang Su’s biggest setback.

Jiang LiChuan looked at Huo Qingyan curiously: “You can say ‘thank you’?”

Jiang Su felt the same.

To think he’d actually hear Huo Qingyan thank him.

Jiang Su was startled, nodding: “Mm.”

Jiang LiChuan noticed Huo Qingyan was still looking at Jiang Su, so he pouted, walked in front of Jiang Su to block Huo Qingyan’s view, and said, “Let’s go.”

“Okay.” Jiang Su had also intended to tell Jiang LiChuan to leave.

Huo Qingyan called out to him again: “Jiang Su.”

Jiang LiChuan turned and glared at Huo Qingyan.

But Huo Qingyan wasn’t looking at Jiang LiChuan; he was looking at Jiang Su: “I’m sorry.”
