After Giving Up, My Rich Ex-Husband Begged Me to Return chapter 8

Chapter 8: Sorry, Mr. Huo, My Hand Slipped

Jiang Su seized his phone while Jiang Licuan was speaking excitedly.

“What are you doing!” Jiang Licuan immediately exploded.

Jiang Su lowered his eyes slightly, “I just came to take a look.”

Jiang Licuan trembled with anger, “Look at what? Watch the gay couple show affection?”

“Why do you seem angrier than me?” Jiang Su slightly curled his lips into a faint smile.

Jiang Licuan rolled his eyes, “If you could just fight back a little, would I be this angry?”

He watched helplessly as Jiang Su acted like he was possessed, being wronged and constantly making concessions for Huo Qingyan, refusing to listen to anyone, making him want to cut ties with Jiang Su.

Jiang Su calmly advised, “You’re a big boss now, don’t always use foul language.”

Jiang Licuan snorted coldly and turned away, ignoring Jiang Su.

Ding—

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Jiang Licuan strode forward.

Jiang Su jogged to catch up, “Why are you walking so fast? Wait for me.”

Jiang Licuan walked even faster upon hearing this, “Before you divorce, let’s remain estranged.”

Jiang Su’s expression turned pale.

He knew that Jiang Licuan was just venting.

But Jiang Licuan had one point right; he was spineless.

He lagged behind Jiang Licuan, watching him reach the banquet hall entrance and say something to the attendant standing at the door. The attendant glanced over.

Then, Jiang Licuan walked in without looking back.

When Jiang Su reached the entrance of the banquet hall, the attendant nodded respectfully, “Young Master Jiang, please come in.”

Jiang Su had been essentially a free-range child, rarely attending banquets. After his debut, he hid his family background, and in the past two years, he had rarely appeared in public. Only a very small number of people knew who the young master of the Jiang family was.

This attendant recognized him because of Jiang Licuan’s prior instructions.

“Thank you.”

Jiang Su thanked him and walked inside.

The banquet hall was large and crowded.

Many people would scramble to attend this level of party for the sake of socializing.

Even so, Jiang Su easily found Huo Qingyan.

Given Huo Qingyan’s status and position, countless people wanted to curry favor with him. Wherever there were the most people, there was Huo Qingyan.

Jiang Su immediately saw Huo Qingyan surrounded by people.

Lin Siyue stood beside him, occasionally turning to talk to him, and he listened attentively.

There was little interaction, and no physical contact, but the picture of them standing together was harmonious enough.

Jiang Su recalled his few conversations with Huo Qingyan after their marriage, all ending abruptly with Huo Qingyan’s impatience.

He had thought Huo Qingyan was naturally impatient; now he understood that Huo Qingyan was only impatient with him.

Jiang Su took a deep breath. A waiter was passing by with drinks; he raised his hand to stop him, “Put them all here.”

The waiter was intimidated by his cold gaze and hurriedly put down the entire tray of drinks.

Jiang Su drank several glasses of red wine, the knot in his heart seemingly eased by the alcohol.

“Goodness, Mr. Huo and Lin Siyue are a perfect match…”

“They certainly are, they’re hard to separate!”

“It feels like Lin Siyue came back this time for Huo Qingyan. Didn’t the Lin family have problems recently? Huo Qingyan has been helping the Lin family manage things…”

“These two must have rekindled their old flame!”

Two women who had somehow approached whispered about Huo Qingyan and Lin Siyue.

Jiang Su’s hand holding the wine glass tightened.

Under the influence of alcohol, he held his glass and strode toward Huo Qingyan.

Although Jiang Licuan said he wanted to cut ties with him, he still kept an eye on his movements.

Seeing Jiang Su walking towards Huo Qingyan with a glass of wine and an unfriendly expression, he hurried over to stop him, “What are you doing?”

“Going to have a drink with him,” Jiang Su said, his gaze fixed on Huo Qingyan, “The last time I drank with Huo Qingyan was when we first got married.”

Jiang Licuan couldn’t describe the feeling, only that his heart ached a little.

When Jiang Su was little, he said he wanted to be a big star when he grew up.

So, whenever Jiang Su got into trouble, Jiang Licuan would take the blame. The Jiang family rules were strict; troublemakers would be beaten, and he was afraid Jiang Su would get scars and couldn’t be a star.

The younger brother he had always protected had not only quit the entertainment industry but was being tormented like this by Huo Qingyan.

Jiang Licuan pressed his tongue against his lower jaw, his voice filled with suppressed anger, “Sixth Brother taught me, splash it directly on that Lin’s face.”

Jiang Su smiled, “Okay.”

Jiang Licuan looked at Jiang Su incredulously, “Not splashing is for cowards?”

Jiang Su repeated, “Not splashing is for cowards.”

Then, he strode towards Huo Qingyan.

Lin Siyue, who had been chatting and laughing with those around him, stiffened when he saw Jiang Su.

He nervously looked away, not daring to meet Jiang Su’s gaze.

Jiang Su knew Lin Siyue had a guilty conscience; he disdainfully curled his lips and walked straight towards Huo Qingyan.

Huo Qingyan was listening to someone speaking beside him. Sensing the strange atmosphere, he turned his head, and Jiang Su was already before him.

Everyone present knew Huo Qingyan, but few knew Jiang Su.

Probably only Lin Siyue, Jiang Licuan, and the two involved knew about their marriage.

Under the bright lights, Jiang Su stood there, tall and slender, with clear and beautiful features, looking like a painting.

Others were guessing Jiang Su’s background, but Huo Qingyan immediately noticed Jiang Su’s slightly flushed face.

He seemed to have been drinking, and quite a bit.

Huo Qingyan frowned slightly.

But Jiang Su raised his glass at this time, “Mr. Huo.”

Huo Qingyan’s expression darkened, his gaze cold.

Jiang Su curled his lips into a half-smile, “I’ll toast you.”

Jiang Su had learned piano as a child, his fingers white, clean, and slender, as neat as his appearance.

Such hands were extremely pleasing to the eye when holding a wine glass.

In full view of everyone, he released his thumb, pressed down slightly with his middle finger, and tilted the wine glass towards Huo Qingyan.

The next second, the red wine splashed onto Huo Qingyan’s white shirt.

The scene fell silent.

After a moment, someone exclaimed.

“Is this guy crazy?”

“He actually dared to pour wine on Huo Qingyan in public…”

“I remember, this guy competed with Huo Qingyan for a painting at the auction, and he actually won.”

“He’s really good-looking, but it’s a pity that he’s gone crazy at such a young age.”

Daring to provoke Huo Qingyan; wasn’t that crazy?!

The onlookers kept their voices low, but Jiang Su still heard them since he was close.

Jiang Su seemed to have suddenly come to his senses and said lightly, “Sorry, Mr. Huo, my hand slipped.”
