【53】Your Daddy Isn’t Obligated to Be Generous to Dumbasses
Jiang Yan truly hadn’t expected that someone would come over to make things difficult for Ran Ran in the short time he stepped away.
He naturally recognized this girl. Her name was Bai Moyu, and she had started pursuing him more than three months ago.
Jiang Yan never liked to judge others, and for his other pursuers, he would simply reject them without giving them any false hope. But this Bai Moyu, despite being calmly rejected by him several times, simply wouldn’t give up.
Bai Moyu loved dating; at her fastest pace, she had gone through three boyfriends in a single week. Jiang Yan didn’t know what possessed her to choose to pursue him. He didn’t care about her past affairs, nor did he want to interfere, but now that she had started attacking his boyfriend with such disgusting words, it became his business.
Seeing Jiang Yan step in front of Wen Ran, Bai Moyu was angry, but she couldn’t exactly continue her previous tirade. She could only speak in a strange, sarcastic tone:
“Jiang Yan, I just don’t understand why you insist on ‘dating down’ like this.”
“Clearly, you have better options. Why would you like someone who hasn’t even attended high school?”
“Someone like him doesn’t match you at all.”
Bai Moyu had previously boasted to her best friends that she would catch Jiang Yan within a month. As a result, three months had passed, and Jiang Yan wouldn’t even give her the time of day.
She could have originally explained it away by saying Jiang Yan was hard to get, hence the time consumption. But who knew that Jiang Yan would suddenly find a partner? The sea of roses that filled the entire piano room, as seen on the forum, had almost given her pink eye from jealousy.
What surprised her even more was that Jiang Yan actually brought this guy to the mixer.
If she hadn’t happened to know Li Hao, she wouldn’t have known that this guy’s conditions were so poor.
How could he compare to her?
The matter of his education had always been a hurdle in Wen Ran’s heart. But just then, Jiang Yan proactively took his hand.
He squeezed it gently.
It was a gesture of comfort.
“What do you mean by ‘dating down’?” Jiang Yan’s tone noticeably cooled. Although his face remained impassive, Zhao Dou knew just by looking at his eyes that Jiang Yan was genuinely angry.
“Between the two of us, I was the one who fell for him first, and I was the one who pursued him.”
“We are the ones in this relationship. I spent so much effort chasing this partner, and I cherish him myself. Who do you think you are? What right do you have to bypass me and judge whether he is worthy or not?”
Bai Moyu didn’t expect Jiang Yan’s reaction to be so intense. She had only said a couple of sentences; was this necessary?
For this pink-haired delinquent?
But she was, after all, a “player” with plenty of experience. She couldn’t just let Jiang Yan suppress her like this; otherwise, where would her dignity go?
She deliberately scoffed twice. “Jiang Yan, why can’t you even take a joke? I just said a few things casually. No need to take it so seriously, right?”
Her eyes still glanced at Wen Ran with disdain. “Hey, you, Sorry~ You’re a big guy, don’t be so petty.”
She had seen Wen Ran acting timidly before Jiang Yan arrived, so she assumed he would just swallow his pride.
But unexpectedly, Wen Ran looked directly into her eyes and said, “Your Daddy isn’t obligated to be generous to dumbasses.”
Bai Moyu: “???”
This wasn’t what she had imagined at all.
And it wasn’t over. Jiang Yan immediately followed up, “If by ‘joking’ you mean sending me certain photos of yourself in the middle of the night and asking if I was interested in sleeping with you, then yes, we really can’t take that joke.”
Jiang Yan’s words were like dropping a heavy bomb, causing the pupils of everyone around them to quake.
What is happening?!
Bai Moyu actually sent pornographic photos to seduce Jiang Yan?!
“You!” Bai Moyu hadn’t expected to lose so much face. It was one thing for Jiang Yan to block and delete her after receiving the photos, but now he had actually exposed what she did in front of so many people!
Bai Moyu didn’t really like Jiang Yan; she just craved his body and wanted to sleep with him, casually gaining some prestige in front of others along the way.
Subconsciously, she felt that someone as handsome as Jiang Yan wouldn’t be that serious about feelings. But now, she was shocked beyond belief.
Jiang Yan would actually go this far for this man?
“You haven’t experienced what he has, so don’t jump to conclusions about him.” Jiang Yan swept a glance at Bai Moyu, his eyes cold. “For the sake of us being classmates, I don’t want to make this too ugly.”
“But I still suggest you go back to elementary school and retake your Ethics class.”
“Your teachers should be ashamed to have taught a student like you.”
Zhao Dou was stunned. Everyone knew Brother Yan’s reputation at school had always been excellent. He almost never had direct conflicts with anyone and was especially gentlemanly and polite to girls—the kind of noble upbringing that was evident at a glance.
But this time, he actually roasted someone directly in front of so many people.
Zhao Dou silently gave a thumbs up. As expected of our Brother Yan, that’s boyfriend power!
Jiang Yan led Wen Ran by the hand and walked straight out.
Bai Moyu’s face turned green then white; it was a truly ugly sight.
As they walked out of the teaching building, Jiang Yan tickled Wen Ran’s palm. “Sorry, Ran Ran. I shouldn’t have left you there alone.”
“Don’t be angry, okay?”
“Not angry.” Wen Ran couldn’t figure out where Jiang Yan learned these coaxing skills, admitting his mistake before even speaking.
It seemed to have the same effect as the “Gold Medal Boyfriend” described online.
He coughed. “Your Daddy isn’t that fragile!”
“Really?” Jiang Yan said. “I thought you would be jealous hearing someone trying to poach your corner.”
Wen Ran: “…”
“Didn’t you already reject her?” Wen Ran waved his hand. “Why would your Daddy be jealous over something like this? You’re so noisy.”
But Jiang Yan acted even more aggrieved. “Oh, you little rascal. You don’t even get jealous over this? Do you not love me that much at all?”
Wen Ran: “…”
Wen Ran pinched his arm. “Don’t act all melodramatic with your Daddy here!”
But Jiang Yan relentlessly hugged his waist. “Then prove it to me.”
As he spoke, he pointed suggestively at his own lips.
Wen Ran: “…”
What is wrong with Jiang Yan?
Why has he become such a ‘Green Tea’ (manipulative innocent act)!
He looked at Jiang Yan’s face and said, “Then close your eyes.”
Jiang Yan obediently closed his eyes. Ran Ran, the little dummy, was really easy to tease. He was about to scam another kiss. If he seized the opportunity, he could probably turn it into a French kiss.
However…
His wrist was grabbed.
Is he guiding me to hold his waist?
Jiang Yan was elated. Ran Ran was really getting better at this.
Wen Ran pulled Jiang Yan’s arm over and tapped twice on his wristband.
Then, he tapped twice on his own wristband.
Jiang Yan, feeling the vibration: “???”
Wen Ran looked up at him with innocent eyes. “Is that better now?”
Jiang Yan: “…”
However, having the “I love you” that was too shy to be spoken presented in this way wasn’t bad either.
At least Ran Ran was willing to express love to him.
Jiang Yan touched his head, feeling helpless but doting.
“Then how about Gege gives you a gift?”
Wen Ran didn’t expect Jiang Yan to take him to a cattery.
“Ran Ran, you said before that you wanted a kitten.”
Wen Ran was stunned. He had indeed said that, but not to Jiang Yan. It was once when he went out to buy things and saw a neighbor’s cat. He had lamented with a sigh that it would be nice if he could have a cat too.
Song Zixuan was there at the time. Wen Ran hadn’t taken it to heart himself, but Jiang Yan remembered it clearly.
“But…”
Wen Ran said with some difficulty, “I was just talking big. I don’t know how to raise one.”
This wasn’t him making excuses. He liked cats very much, but he couldn’t even take good care of himself, let alone a kitten.
And back when he was so poor, his own livelihood was a problem. How could he bear to buy a cat and make it suffer with him?
A kitten could go to a better family.
Later, when he met Li Hao, Wen Ran had indeed thought about buying a kitten during that time to make their apartment a bit warmer.
But Li Hao refused him ruthlessly.
He said he hated these furry creatures the most, and cat food was so expensive; saving that money could buy some clothes instead.
Wen Ran’s desire to raise a cat wasn’t that strong, so he shelved it.
“I know you just want to pet the kitty.” Jiang Yan smiled, guessing his thoughts completely. “Have you perhaps considered that you have an all-powerful boyfriend?”
Wen Ran was incredulous. “Huh?”
“I asked friends who own cats and looked up a lot of guides. Raising a cat to adulthood is absolutely no problem. I’ve also ordered a cat tree and a cat bed.” Jiang Yan hugged Wen Ran from behind, leaning down to whisper in his ear, “Your partner never fights an unprepared battle. If I hadn’t confirmed everything, why would Gege bring you to choose a cat?”
“You…”
Wen Ran didn’t know what to say now. Just when did Jiang Yan start preparing to give him a kitten?
Being with him seemed to bring surprises every day.
Every kitten in the cattery was cute. When Wen Ran walked to a cage, a Munchkin cat inside meowed milkily at him.
Its big eyes were round like black grapes, looking at Wen Ran vividly.
“Meow meow!”
The cry was incredibly milky, and it even stretched out a short, stubby paw from the cage, seemingly wanting to touch Wen Ran.
When Wen Ran got a bit closer, it placed its soft, white paw into Wen Ran’s hand.
“Meow~”
Jiang Yan walked over and put an arm around Wen Ran’s shoulder. “If you like it, we’ll take it home.”
Wen Ran nodded. His attention was now completely captivated by the kitten. How could such a cute creature exist in the world!
Jiang Yan looked down at the way Wen Ran carefully held the cat carrier. It was just deadly cute.
From now on, there would be two kittens in the house.
