Chapter 81: No Pressure in Lane, Kinda Boring part 1
Wen Ran squeezed his eyes shut, his neck flushed red from shyness, turning his head to the side.
After being tormented for a while, Wen Ran had no strength left in his body. His sweat-drenched hair stuck to his forehead, looking as if he had been fished out of water.
The culprit, however, didn’t seem to know how to write the word ‘shame’. He picked Wen Ran up, tilting his head back to kiss his lips. “Ran-Ran, why are you so soft?”
“And sweet.”
Wen Ran now felt nothing but regret upon regret. He shouldn’t have come out with him tonight!
Even his voice was weak and lacked energy, carrying a hint of accusation. “You… do you remember what you told me before you pursued me?”
Jiang Yan narrowed his eyes. “Hmm? What did Brother say?”
Wen Ran’s voice was muffled. “You said you were a pure young man who didn’t play dirty tricks!”
Although he hadn’t believed it at the time, either.
“This is considered dirty?”
Then Jiang Yan leaned close to Wen Ran’s ear and whispered something softly.
Wen Ran was so ashamed he couldn’t speak at all. This person’s skin was truly so thick it was impenetrable!
Although he had mixed in society from a young age, he had never met someone who could say those kinds of things so solemnly like Jiang Yan!
“Dirty old man, give me back my Wind!” Wen Ran felt disillusioned whenever he thought about how this person was the idol he had worshipped and liked for a long time.
“Wind is human too, why think of him as so ascetic,” Jiang Yan smiled, curling his lips. “However, Windâs heart only beats for you.”
Wen Ran was utterly defeated by this sentence. Wind only liked him…
Idol and partner overlappingâthis feeling of holding a distant star in his hand made his heart race ceaselessly.
When Wen Ran woke up the next day, he felt sore all over, as if his body had fallen apart. That beast Jiang Yan hadn’t let him go later on, and by the end, Wen Ran had completely lost track of time.
He opened his eyes and happened to meet Jiang Yanâs gaze.
“What time is it?”
As soon as Wen Ran spoke, he realized his voice was hoarse beyond recognition.
It was simply like it had been sanded with sandpaper.
“Three in the afternoon.” Jiang Yan felt rare guilt. “Ran-Ran, I’ll pour you water.”
After drinking half a glass of warm water, Wen Ran felt a little more comfortable, and his throat wasn’t as dry and hoarse.
But his body still hurt.
Seeing Jiang Yan acting like nothing had happened, Wen Ran got even angrier.
Why was it always him who ended up half-dead like this!
“Jiang Yanâ”
“I’m here, what’s wrong?”
Wen Ran looked into his eyes and said through gritted teeth, “You are not allowed to touch me for a month!”
Jiang Yan: “???”
After Xiao Huang returned, he still couldn’t accept everything he had seen that night.
He had been digesting it for several days, but every time he thought about it, it still felt like absurdity opened the door for absurdityâit was absurd to the extreme.
Wen Ran and Senior Wind were actually a couple. No, Wen Ran and Senior Wind both liked guys, and they just happened to have eyes for each other!
If he remembered correctly, Wen Ran, this little sprayer who dissed everyone, used to be a fan of Senior Wind.
To others, he was calling himself ‘Daddy’ every other sentence, fierce and wild. But to Wind, he was indescribably obedient, even starting a livestream to reveal his real height for him.
In that case, did Senior Wind… sleep with a fan?!
Holy shit!
If this explosive news was sold to the league, the trending searches for the next few days would be completely dominated!
Xiao Huang suddenly remembered that during the transfer period, when he and Wen Ran went out to play, Wen Ran’s ID was “wxhjy”.
At the time, he had asked what it meant. Now he knew!
Wasn’t that just “Wo Xi Huan Jiang Yan” (I Like Jiang Yan)?!
Brilliant! Xiao Huang even felt it was a little romantic.
He couldn’t tell that the Little Sprayer, that romance killer, would do such a thing.
However, Wen Ran liking Senior Wind was somewhat traceable.
But what about Senior Wind towards Wen Ran?
How did he fall for Wen Ran?
The two didn’t seem to have much interaction.
Even as an active player in the league, he knew very little about Senior Wind.
Wen Ran was a nobody before; how did he manage it?
Could it be that the Little Sprayer used some special method of pestering?
Although both of their looks were very high, ranking among the best in the league, Xiao Huang couldn’t imagine where the two of them were compatible.
Compared to these two, he would rather believe that Brother Fourteen and Ling Han were a couple.
Although those two didn’t get along well and bickered every day like mortal enemies, they were truly childhood friends who grew up together. Who knows, maybe their feelings would change one day.
Xiao Huang really wanted to figure it out, but he was afraid Wen Ran was in a bad mood these past two days and that asking would just add to his troubles.
“What’s wrong with you?” When Qiao Yu came up, he saw Xiao Huang looking distracted.
“Didn’t we already review the replay?” Qiao Yu said. “Just pay attention to the problem areas next time.”
Qiao Yu thought he was sad about the match and comforted him, “It was just a regular season game. Besides, our loss was honorable.”
“Don’t be sad.” Qiao Yu rubbed Xiao Huangâs head. “Here, I bought you milk tea.”
Xiao Huang glanced at it; it was from his favorite shop.
“Thank you, Captain.”
Xiao Huang hesitated to speak. Seeing his strange behavior, Qiao Yu asked, “Are you really okay? You’re hemming and hawing.”
“No!” Xiao Huang said. “I’m just defending my rank. I lost two Peak Tournament games just now and I’m a little angry.”
“Don’t you lose often? Go play ranked if you want to farm performance points,” Qiao Yu looked at him strangely. “If you can’t, ask your Brother Fourteen to carry you for two games. I saw Ling Han duo-queueing with him.”
“A chance to get carried by a top-tier side laner for free, don’t miss it!”
“Mhm, mhm.” Xiao Huang had actually lied casually, but now he was forced to admit he couldn’t rank up. His captain was the person he trusted most; before, he would have told the captain all his secrets.
But now he didn’t know what to do. Wen Ran and Senior Wind hadn’t gone public. They trusted him so much and didn’t treat him as an outsider, so he couldn’t spread their affairs.
This led to Xiao Huang feeling stifled, holding a massive secret he couldn’t share with anyone.
After struggling with it, he sent a message to Wen Ran.
[Stinky Brat: Ran Di, are you really dating Senior Wind?]
[Little Sprayer: ? Didn’t you hear everything?]
[Stinky Brat: Holy shit, you two… beat me to death and I wouldn’t have guessed it!]
[Stinky Brat: Am I the first in the league to know this news?]
[Stinky Brat: I didn’t expect you to trust me so much to tell me this.]
[Stinky Brat: Don’t worry Ran Di, my lips are sealed. I didn’t even tell my captain!]
[Little Sprayer: Old Two Qiao? He knows.]
[Stinky Brat: ???]
Although Wen Ran had always liked to roast people, his own captain hadn’t provoked him at all!
Why call the captain ‘Old Two’?!
He was just planning to educate Ran Di that this wasn’t right and that he didn’t understand the bitterness of a runner-up, when he saw the next message.
[Little Sprayer: I am Wind. Wen Ran was exhausted last night, he is sleeping.]
No matter how dense Xiao Huang was, he should know what “exhausted last night” meant. What could a couple do?!
The innocent, underage Xiao Huang blushed crimson and hurriedly deleted all the words he had typed in the dialog box.
He sent:
[Stinky Brat: Okay Senior, you stay busy then, I won’t disturb you.]
Xiao Huang looked at their conversation with mixed feelings.
He had heard many legends about Senior Wind. Also, his captain had a good relationship with Wind and was an old rival, so he often told him things about Wind. The image was almost invariably glorious and stalwartâextremely talented, serious, and responsible. But today, Xiao Huang felt that the Senior seemed… actually quite flirty.
Xiao Huang covered his mouth in horror. “Can I say that?”
Hope Little Sprayerâs waist is okay.
The regular season continued to rotate, determining relegation based on net points.
The top four in points would advance directly to the playoffs.
Currently, STE was ranked first in points, and WK was second.
Although WK won almost all their big matches, they had dropped quite a few points in individual games.
STE was different. No matter who they played, it was almost always a stomp. And they fought fiercer as they went on. Except for HG and Inverse Seal (Ni Feng) who could play a full set, other teams could only get swept 3-0.
The last regular season match was WK versus STE.
Since both sides had already entered the playoffs, this match wouldn’t have much at stake.
They could choose whatever lineup they wanted to play.
This was tacitly accepted by the league, and both sides would hide their strategies; they certainly wouldn’t expose their true strength.
They met outside the sports center.
Coming face to face.
Only now did Wen Ran truly meet this “Boy Band Team.”
From the captain to the players, every single one was handsome, no exaggeration.
Their heights were well-proportioned, all around 178cm or taller. Xu Jiajia had dyed his hair pale blonde this time and curled it, with a dazzling black ear stud in his left ear, looking cute yet flamboyant. Captain Yue Yang gave off a very steady vibe, his eyes holding a calmness that didn’t match his age, wearing his uniform properly. Ling Han, the ace side laner STE bought for a high price, had a different feel from the rest; sharp features, deep eye sockets, carrying a bit of a roguish air. The half-finger black leather gloves made his slender fingers look incredibly desirous and sexy.
Mid laner Hua Ying and Support Cloud also had their own characteristics. With this level of looks, people would believe it if you said they were an idol group debuting.
