Chapter 10: A Warm Kiss…
Gripped by extreme terror, Mǐ Qiū’s entire body froze stiff. Thankfully, Shěn Qīnghuái quickly drove the insect away, and she could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Mǐ Qiū pulled her body away. Shěn Qīnghuái tilted his head, looking at her. “Guide Mǐ Qiū is late. I’ll have to think of a way to punish you.”
Mǐ Qiū promised that she would be on time next time and wouldn’t be late for a hypnosis session again. Naturally, Shěn Qīnghuái wasn’t really going to hold it against her.
It was just fun to tease her…
Shěn Qīnghuái asked her what hypnosis would feel like. Mǐ Qiū simply said that he would enter a very comfortable state of sleep, and this feeling would last until the hypnosis ended.
The sensation of entering a deep sleep was just like falling asleep.
There was no other feeling.
But she had indeed been late, and she had been frightened by the insect. She was a little worried about the work ahead.
A cold sweat broke out on Mǐ Qiū’s palms. After gently wiping it away with a tissue, she touched her fingers to his abdomen, sensing the slow flow of his spiritual body within.
Mǐ Qiū’s first impression of the spiritual sea was, it’s so hot, ahhh!
Red, flame-like hills were imprinted with a row of deep, large footprints.
Mǐ Qiū knew they weren’t human footprints; to be precise, they were the paw prints of a wolf.
They stretched far into the distance, where there seemed to be a stone grotto with a dark opening, mysteriously drawing Mǐ Qiū forward.
The footprints disappeared at the edge of that place. It seemed the spiritual body was inside the grotto.
The yellow gravel crunched under her feet. The wind howled, feeling as if it could rip her ears clean off!
She hastily covered her ears with both hands, but her hands were instantly cut and bleeding. This place was truly dry and hot.
Then, Mǐ Qiū heard a sound. It was the howl of a wolf, tearing through the sky like ripping silk…
Mǐ Qiū had no choice but to follow the sound to find the golden wolf.
In reality, she already knew where the golden wolf was hiding. It was much larger than she had imagined.
If it stood up, it would probably be three or four meters tall.
Its golden fur, illuminated by the sun, billowed in the air—
A red light emanated from its eyes. Compared to it, Mǐ Qiū’s figure was like a miniature doll. She couldn’t even meet its gaze for a second without trembling uncontrollably.
This wouldn’t do.
Mǐ Qiū had to adapt to this place as quickly as possible, to adapt to the current environment and the fear that the golden wolf instilled in her.
The golden wolf only poked its enormous head out of the cave entrance before幽幽地 slipping back into the grotto.
Mǐ Qiū walked in its direction. The golden wolf let out a series of low growls, as if calling to her.
Inside the stone grotto, before Mǐ Qiū could even get close, the golden wolf whipped its tail, sweeping it against her. In an instant, it pounced. Although Mǐ Qiū wanted to struggle, it was futile. Under the wolf’s weight, her strength was far too insufficient.
Pinned firmly beneath the massive golden wolf, she couldn’t move an inch.
Her intuition told her this was not a good sign.
At the very least, she had no control over the current situation. It looked like it wanted to eat her.
A single paw was enough to nearly crush Mǐ Qiū’s entire body!
It pressed down on her so hard she couldn’t breathe, her chest feeling as if it were filled with a mouthful of blood.
If the golden wolf were to put its other paw on her and press down hard, she was sure she wouldn’t be far from death.
The interruption of the hypnosis taught Mǐ Qiū that the process required a single, focused effort. And so, she entered the hypnosis for a second time.
If the second attempt failed, the likelihood of subsequent success would be greatly reduced.
Mǐ Qiū had to succeed this time. Upon entering, she was once again faced with the colossal golden wolf, its red, glowing eyes and golden fur. Re-entering the spiritual sea, as she drew within inches of it, Mǐ Qiū held her breath.
She had an idea. Perhaps if she was a little nicer to the golden wolf, she could break through this layer of the dream.
Then she wouldn’t have to remain in such a dangerous situation.
Mǐ Qiū strode towards the golden wolf and held out her hands, opening her arms in an embrace to show that she meant it no harm.
The golden wolf’s previous aggression completely vanished. It became much more subdued. Mǐ Qiū hadn’t expected it to lose its hostility so completely. It simply hugged her back.
The golden wolf’s body enveloped Mǐ Qiū’s entire frame. Even as a wolf, it still had a fluffy texture. She continuously stroked its back, trying to soothe it.
Gently touching its back was like flipping a switch. As she gently stroked up and down, it would quiet down obediently, at least no longer pouncing on her.
Mǐ Qiū was still very worried at first, but now the golden wolf was gradually letting down its guard with her.
Soon, she entered Shěn Qīnghuái’s deepest dreamscape.
In this layer of the dream, she did indeed see Shěn Qīnghuái.
As the dream deepened, Mǐ Qiū could see the spiritual landscape of his past.
It was very dark here, with almost no light filtering in. It was a dim place, similar to a confinement cell. Shěn Qīnghuái’s hands were each connected to an iron chain. He was shirtless.
A red dot on his right shoulder—Mǐ Qiū looked closely and saw it was an electro-shock symbol.
Only those with extremely manic spiritual bodies would suffer such a fate.
Mǐ Qiū knew about these kinds of electro-shock rooms. Usually, one had to stay in them for about two days a week.
Even though Shěn Qīnghuái was already the captain of the S-class Assault Team 1, due to his innately violent constitution, he had to spend a few days in a place like this.
Dark, damp, the air filled with the smell of mildew.
Mǐ Qiū covered her nose as she stepped into the prison-like electro-shock room.
Mǐ Qiū noticed that whenever the red dot on his shoulder lit up, the man’s expression would tighten, his brow furrowing.
She observed that the electro-shock device seemed to activate every five minutes.
With both his hands and feet locked in chains, he was still in immense pain.
Shěn Qīnghuái’s head was bowed, his deep eyes staring straight ahead.
Mǐ Qiū walked towards him. Who could have imagined that a man with such illustrious military achievements in the Star Alliance would be in such a state?
There were old scars on his neck and chest, deep marks branded over many years.
Before Mǐ Qiū could get completely close to him, Shěn Qīnghuái had already sensed someone approaching.
He asked in a muffled tone, “Who are you?”
“You’re a woman. Women aren’t allowed in this place.”
The room was filled with white noise, which was supposed to isolate the outside world and provide a calming soundscape, intended to keep the person in the electro-shock room in a peaceful state of mind.
Mǐ Qiū could feel how much pain the man was in right now. She saw the scar on his chest and kissed it.
Shěn Qīnghuái’s chest rose and fell slightly. He grabbed her wrist fiercely and asked, “What on earth are you trying to do?”
Mǐ Qiū: “I know you’re in a lot of pain right now, so I’m here to help you, to make you feel a bit more comfortable. Everything I’m saying is true.”
Shěn Qīnghuái looked her up and down and laughed coldly. “Don’t act like you know me so well!”
“Of course, I don’t know you. Because my way of getting to know someone is very special.”
The electric current that surged through his body every five minutes was still unbearable. The veins on his arms bulged.
He stared at her with a sinister gaze and said, “What brilliant idea do you have?”
Mǐ Qiū told him, “But I need your cooperation. Are you willing to cooperate with me?”
The man’s limbs twitched slightly from the electric shock. Mǐ Qiū took the opportunity to touch the tense muscles on his chest.
This could be said to be an important step in soothing. Mǐ Qiū continued…
Shěn Qīnghuái, however, immediately grabbed her by the neck.
With his large hand wrapped around her throat, her pale veins were visible. Mǐ Qiū could barely breathe…
“I told you, while I still have some reason left, get out of here now!”
Mǐ Qiū knew the man was on edge. So, she went along with it and said, “And what if I don’t leave?”
“Scram! Get the hell out!”
The man’s fists clenched. He could foresee that the woman before him was a thorn, a rose full of spikes.
But he seemed to desperately want a taste of her unique flavor.
This was very dangerous.
The idea in his heart grew more and more tumultuous, becoming uncontrollable. At that moment, Mǐ Qiū could see the emotion in the depths of his eyes.
Mǐ Qiū said to him in a gentle voice, “If you can calm down, you can do whatever you want.”
Shěn Qīnghuái could no longer suppress his inner feelings. He lowered his head again.
Mǐ Qiū’s waist was encircled by his hands. Shěn Qīnghuái’s voice was low as he said to her, “Then don’t you regret this.”
Shěn Qīnghuái’s hand, which had been pulling at the chains behind him, gently caressed Mǐ Qiū’s face. He kissed her cheek, leaving his own mark.
Then his lips slowly moved downwards. His eyes were half-closed as he savored that budding flower…
It had to be said, Mǐ Qiū was a beauty with fair, smooth skin, a beauty he couldn’t get enough of.
She would not run away now.
Mǐ Qiū remembered her job. Of course, she couldn’t stop now.
That golden wolf, wagging its tail at her, was waiting for her right here, extending its incomparably sharp claws and fangs as if to swallow her whole.
Mǐ Qiū just clenched her teeth tightly. In truth, he had long forgotten what it felt like to love someone.
Feeling the delicate texture of the woman’s skin made him feel that he was still alive in this world.
Shěn Qīnghuái gradually calmed his emotions. He opened his eyes and stared straight at her.
He asked her why, why on earth was she doing this?
Mǐ Qiū: “No reason.”
“What if my world is hell?”
Mǐ Qiū showed a cute, innocent smile and said to him, “But I’m not afraid of any hell.”
“I think you should have someone who can accompany you, who can help you at all times.”
He held the woman, feeling her every breath at this moment. The sensation was simply unforgettable…
The next day, Mǐ Qiū slept very soundly, probably the deepest she had slept since coming to the island.
The immersive dreamscape sometimes made it difficult for her to distinguish between dream and reality.
It was only when Mǐ Qiū clearly saw where she was now that she shuddered, instantly becoming more awake than she had ever been.
Why was there a man’s hand next to her pillow! Ahhhhhhh!!
Luckily, she was quick-witted. Luckily, she reacted fast. She scrambled up in one motion. She was wearing pants and her inner shirt, so for now, there wasn’t a big problem. But just then, Mǐ Qiū discovered a shadow outside the tent. When she got closer to look.
It was another man’s hand…
