Chapter 16: Let’s See Those Abs!
Mǐ Qiū didn’t answer him, deliberately changing the subject instead.
She was truly stuffed tonight! Her stomach was bulging, forming a little mound.
Even she thought her eating habits were a bit ridiculous, but how could she resist the temptation of good food?
She had inadvertently eaten almost the entire half of the fish. Mǐ Qiū felt that in her life, food occupied the largest part. She had transmigrated to an unfamiliar interstellar world, but thankfully, she still had good food to accompany her.
Mǐ Qiū couldn’t describe how satisfied she was!
Even now, the delicious fragrance still lingered between her lips and teeth…
After returning, Mǐ Qiū immediately drew up her plan.
She also marked the difficulty level for conquering each of them, which would allow her to create a detailed hypnosis plan for each person. Over the following days, Mǐ Qiū began her new, proactive daily routine.
She woke up half an hour earlier. Besides practicing her sniping skills with Zhù Shāngchén, she would also take walks around the island. Her days were very fulfilling. Then, every day, she had to clean Ruǎn Bái Bái’s little room.
She would change its water and give it some rabbit food. She wondered what the grass-flavored rabbit food even tasted like. She loved watching Ruǎn Bái Bái’s little mouth munching away as it ate.
It ate with such gusto!
Watching it, Mǐ Qiū was filled with joy.
Oh, right, it was time to harvest the seeds today. She had to harvest the seeds before she could click the “collect” button on the game’s interface and continue planting.
Mǐ Qiū opened her light-brain. Planting vegetables in the game earned her labor points, and by collecting these points over and over, she could get gold coins.
50 gold coins equaled one diamond, and 100 diamonds could be used to upgrade her house and furniture.
The game had become a part of Mǐ Qiū’s daily checklist.
It was already Monday. Mǐ Qiū had been going to the island bookstore for the past few days. If she went one more time this afternoon, she could finish the novel.
The ending was quite perfect. The couple she was rooting for finally got together.
By the time Mǐ Qiū finished the novel in one go, the sky was already getting dark.
It was time for her to begin today’s hypnosis task.
Coincidentally, she had just come across another book. It was about the “spiritual landscape” and was written by an expert in Sentinel psychology.
In fact, many of its principles shared a common ground with hypnosis.
Mǐ Qiū casually flipped through it and found that some of the things it discussed were very much worth learning from. For example, when it came to overcoming psychological barriers, Mǐ Qiū still needed to improve. The book also mentioned many professional terms.
Although Mǐ Qiū didn’t understand them, by reading the explanations, she got a general idea of how to remedy the barren and impoverished psyches of the Sentinels.
From this, she came to a realization: the numerical fluctuations were just a superficial phenomenon and not something she needed to fixate on. What she truly needed to care about was the genuine flow of emotion between people. Deeply understanding them had become paramount.
Mǐ Qiū savored the meaning of the words in the book, put it back on the shelf, and walked out.
Only after leaving the bookstore did she realize someone was standing at the entrance, seemingly waiting for someone.
Under the dim light, Mǐ Qiū could vaguely make out who it was from the silhouette and shadow.
So it was him.
The man’s tall and slender figure was illuminated by a yellow halo of light hitting the side of his face, highlighting his sharp and delicate features. The sight made her freeze for a second.
Mǐ Qiū asked, “Who are you waiting for?”
Shěn Qīnghuái, with one hand in his pants pocket, was straightforward. “You. I was afraid Guide Mǐ Qiū would forget the way back.”
And so, she walked behind him. Mǐ Qiū tried to keep up, but her short legs had to take several steps to truly match his pace.
Tired of trying to speed up, she slowed down. In response, Shěn Qīnghuái would walk a few steps and then pause.
It seemed he was waiting for her.
Shěn Qīnghuái walked closer to her. As they walked side by side, Mǐ Qiū could feel that her strides were just not long enough. His body could easily eclipse hers; she felt like a miniature person.
Shěn Qīnghuái asked her, “I want to chat with you about this hypnosis technique. I’m a bit curious, what kind of hypnosis does Guide Mǐ Qiū use to soothe my spiritual body?”
Naturally, in the deepest part of the dream, she would play the role of his most devoted lover and do… those sorts of things.
After all, anything was possible in a dream. Mǐ Qiū could only explain that it required a vast amount of professional knowledge and skill, which couldn’t be explained in a short time.
“Alright, no problem. We’ll have plenty of time to discuss it in the future, because I am very interested in this.”
“Of course, that’s great!”
Mǐ Qiū had no choice but to brace herself and agree.
After she returned to the cabin, Mǐ Qiū prepared the basic hypnosis equipment. It was now 9:50, almost time for the session. She saw that his door was ajar and gently pushed it open.
Entering the room, Mǐ Qiū noticed that Shěn Qīnghuái’s room had very few miscellaneous items. There were only a few simple pieces of furniture, and his blanket was folded into a perfect tofu-like square. Not only were things neatly arranged, but the room was also spotless.
Mǐ Qiū felt a little hesitant to even sit down. But where was he? The door was clearly open, so he should have been in the room.
Mǐ Qiū was wondering about this when Shěn Qīnghuái walked out of the bathroom.
He wasn’t wearing a bathrobe. His upper body was bare, and his lower half was wrapped in a simple white towel. Glistening water droplets slowly rolled down from his neck and abs.
Mǐ Qiū tried not to look directly at him. Shěn Qīnghuái was drying the tips of his hair as he smiled at her. “I always shower at this time every night. Guide Mǐ Qiū doesn’t mind, right?”
“Since we’re about to start the hypnosis, wearing a bathrobe would just be a hassle.”
That was true. During hypnosis, Mǐ Qiū needed to place one hand on his abdomen. She would have to unbutton it anyway, so this might actually be more convenient.
The man’s steps gradually drew closer to her.
“Shall we begin?”
