After the Divorce, the Paranoid CEO Begs for a HE with His Life Chapter 9

Chapter 9: Hugging and Calling it a Ride Home?

A weak, soft mumble came from beside him. Shen Yunheng was at a loss for half a second before he soothed:

“Xiao An, you’re awake? Don’t be afraid. We’ll be at the hospital soon. You have to hang in there.”

Jian An rubbed his splitting head, his expression looking haggard. He forced his drunken eyes half-open and rasped:

“Yunheng…? Why is it you?”

“If I hadn’t come, you would have…”

Shen Yunheng swallowed back the words at the tip of his tongue and said angrily:

“You would have been sleeping on the roadside with no one to care for you. Ji Songting is your legal husband; is he really heartless to this extent? And he knew you had stomach pain, yet he let you drink so much alcohol.”

Jian An only felt an incessant ringing in his ears. He couldn’t hear what the other man was saying at all. He only made an instinctive request:

“Yunheng… take me home first.”

The other man gently tugged the blanket that had slipped down Jian An’s body. His voice was deep and warm, yet carried a hint of sternness:

“No. We’re going to the hospital first. Your body is already like this—do you still want to return to that house devoid of human warmth?”

Hearing that they were going to the hospital, Jian An forced himself to sit upright. He turned his head toward the man, a flicker of chaotic panic crossing his eyes as he spoke urgently:

“I don’t want to go to the hospital. Will you take me home? I must go back. I’m begging you, Yunheng.”

“But your body can’t handle it right now.”

Jian An leaned against the car window. His watery eyes were filled with melancholy. A sense of bitterness and powerlessness instantly swept over him.

“I’m fine. I have medicine at home. If I don’t go back, I’m afraid I’ll never be able to go home again.”

Shen Yunheng couldn’t help but glance at him.

That exquisitely handsome face was marred by an incongruous, tragic pallor—so fragile it made one’s heart ache.

Shen Yunheng’s grip on the steering wheel tightened so much that his knuckles turned white and protruded.

His lips trembled twice. With eyes full of deep affection, he spoke in a tone that forced a sense of cheerfulness:

“Then don’t go back. Divorce him and move into my place. It just so happens I live alone. I’ll work during the day, and you can stay home to water the flowers and paint…”

Jian An interrupted his nonsensical words just in time: “Yunheng, what are you saying? I’m already married.”

Indeed, this stubborn reply was enough to tell him that he would never have a chance to take care of Jian An.

The other man’s stubbornness was constantly drawing a prison for himself, and Shen Yunheng could not enter his castle.

The car made a U-turn and headed in a different direction.

“Alright, we’re here.”

Shen Yunheng parked the car in front of the villa, then got out and opened the passenger door.

Jian An, who was half-drunk and half-awake, unbuckled his seatbelt and was about to step out when he was suddenly caught by a pair of strong, powerful arms. His entire being fell into a solid, warm chest.

The sudden feeling of being suspended forced him to instinctively wrap his arms around Shen Yunheng’s neck. He said weakly:

“Yunheng, what are you doing? Put me down quickly.”

Shen Yunheng acted as though he hadn’t heard, holding him tightly like he was protecting the only treasure in the world. He spoke softly:

“Don’t move. It would break my heart if you fell.”

The soft hair of the person in his arms brushed against his neck, and his nose was surrounded by the faint, elegant scent belonging to Jian An. Even his heartbeat and breathing quickened involuntarily.

Shen Yunheng took a deep breath and used his free hand to press the smart doorbell.

Within seconds, the main door was opened.

The maid was shocked by the scene before her but didn’t dare speak, silently bowing as she stood to the side.

Ji Songting walked toward them from behind. His expression was dark, and his aura carried a type of pressure that made people stop in their tracks.

His sharp gaze swept over Jian An. His eyes, scorched red with rage, revealed a dense hatred. He sneered:

“I was wondering why Xiao Wang didn’t pick you up. It turns out you went to throw yourself into another man’s arms.”

Hearing that familiar voice, Jian An’s entire body jolted. His splitting head suddenly cleared slightly, and he hurriedly struggled out of Shen Yunheng’s embrace.

He stumbled as he braced himself against the door to stand straight, intentionally avoiding Shen Yunheng’s hand as it reached out to support him. He explained:

“It’s not like that. Songting, listen to me. I didn’t. Yunheng was just bringing me home…”

Ji Songting lightly lifted his eyelids, appraising the two with a look as if he had caught them in bed. He squeezed out a cold sentence:

“Bringing you home? Hugging each other is called bringing you home? This time it’s your bodies touching—is the next step going to be in bed?”

This biting sentence was like a sharp dagger stabbed ruthlessly into Jian An’s heart.

No matter how much the other man usually humiliated him, he always endured it silently. But now, he was saying such scandalous things about him right in front of Shen Yunheng!

Jian An felt that he had never been so utterly embarrassed and humiliated as he was at this moment.

Another layer was added to the disappointment in his heart.

Shen Yunheng’s brow knit slightly as he said sternly:

“Ji Songting, what are you saying? Xiao An and I are perfectly clean. Don’t go too far.”

Ji Songting’s deep eyes suddenly became a few degrees more dangerous. A cold, wicked smirk appeared on his lips:

“This is my family matter. The Eldest Young Master Shen would be better off avoiding it. Don’t let such a small thing affect our business cooperation.”

Shen Yunheng ignored him and barked:

“Since you took Xiao An out, why couldn’t you protect him properly? Why did you leave him? You almost let him be bullied by thugs!”

Hearing this, Ji Songting was clearly taken aback. He glanced at the unsteady Jian An and said dismissively:

“I already sent a driver to get him. He got drunk and ran around wildly—what does that have to do with me? Besides, who knows how many people have already slept with him!”

As soon as these words were spoken, the normally calm Shen Yunheng lost his temper. He swung a fist toward the man.

Ji Songting tilted his head to the right, his palm catching the fist. He curled his fingers slightly and threw the arm back forcefully.

Shen Yunheng lowered his hand and instead wrapped his arm around Jian An’s shoulders. He glared at the man inside the house and said indignantly:

“You’d better behave yourself. Xiao An, let’s go. Why bother returning to a ‘home’ like this?”

Jian An was led a couple of steps away in a daze, that heartbreaking sentence echoing incessantly in his ears.

“If you leave, don’t ever come back.”

He suddenly heard Ji Songting throw out this sentence coldly from behind him, laced with an irresistible pressure.

Clearly, anyone can live without anyone else, so why was it that he just couldn’t leave Ji Songting, and could never walk out of the Ji family?

Jian An powerlessly pushed away the man beside him, turned around, and stumbled back through the door.

He slightly tilted his face up to gaze at Ji Songting. His eyes shimmered with broken light. He was still smiling foolishly and affectionately, his tone tinged with a damp sob:

“I’m not leaving. Songting, don’t throw me away…”

“Xiao An!”

Shen Yunheng shouted helplessly.

Ji Songting looked down with indifference at the submissive Jian An. The curve of his lips rose slightly as he said coldly:

“Chen Ma, close the door. Send the guest away.”
