Chapter 82: Coaxing
Zhou Shu half-pushed, half-embraced the person into the bathhouse. The air was filled with humid moisture. There was no one in the bathhouse at this hour; it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, save for the occasional chirp of insects and birds outside the window.
Dragging the person forcefully into the innermost stall and locking it with a click seemed to flip a switch. Zhou Shu revealed his true nature.
He turned around, looking at He Qing, who had retreated to the corner, pressing his back tightly against the tiles regardless of whether they were clean. There was no expression on that cold, handsome face, but the slightly tense jawline and the clenched fists in front of him revealed absolute defensiveness.
In Zhou Shu’s eyes, this was no different from a kitten baring its clawsâzero deterrence, just added cuteness.
The grievance of being given the cold shoulder for days mixed with thick longing in Zhou Shuâs heart. Seeing this scene, he stopped pretending completely. He threw himself forward recklessly, hugging the person tight.
“Wifey…” He rubbed his chin against the top of He Qing’s damp hair, his muffled voice laced with a wheedling tone. “I missed you to death.”
“You… ngh… let go!” He Qing groaned from the bear hug, then struggled angrily. He punched Zhou Shu’s shoulder hard, prying and pulling, trying to break free from this suffocating embrace.
“Don’t push, let Hubby touch first…” Zhou Shu took the hit without getting angry. Instead, he pushed his luck, grabbing He Qing’s waist and grinning, “Just a touch, just one touch…”
He Qing only blocked more forcefully with his arms, leaning his body back in resistance, unwilling to let him take any advantage.
Seeing this, Zhou Shu drooped his head and settled for the next best thing. He quickly lowered his head to steal a kiss on those tightly pressed lips, then looked at him pitifully. “Then… just a hug is okay, right? Just a hug.”
He Qingâs body stiffened. He gradually felt a distinct change in a certain part of the other’s body pressing against him. His pupils widened slightly. Before he could even react with angerâthis person really could get… aroused at any time! Pervert!
He Qing was both angry and annoyed, and even more afraid that this guy would really act recklessly in a place like this. He didn’t dare struggle violently anymore, only standing stiffly in place, letting Zhou Shu hug him tightly like a large dog.
Zhou Shu held him and took a deep breath, as if trying to inhale the longing of the past half-month into his lungs. Since their big fight at the bar entrance, where He Qing decided he was a scumbag cheating him of body and heart and was determined to break upâavoiding him, hiding from himâand later being locked up at home by his dad, he hadn’t been able to touch him for real like this.
Heaven knew how he had spent this half-month. Calls wouldn’t go through, messages sank into the ocean without a reply. He didn’t know if He Qing saw them. He wanted to explain but had no way to, feeling suffocated to death.
Holding on without letting go, he started feeling aggrieved for himself and began to complain: “Baby, you don’t know… when my grandpa passed away, I was sad to death. Then my dad locked me at home, I couldn’t get out at all… I finally found a chance to sneak out to see you, and you ignored me…”
“I was so heartbroken…”
He Qing was unmoved, his voice cold. “Who’s to blame?”
“You said you absolutely wouldn’t get engaged. You said you were just dealing with your family, and once your grandpa rested in peace, you’d break off the engagement. And the result?” He Qing looked up at him, a thin red anger in his cold eyes. “You lied to me.”
“I did promise you, and I was prepared to do so, but…” Zhou Shu felt guilty but also wronged. “How can this count entirely as me lying to you? Hubby was set up too, okay? Who knew my parents would move so fast? My grandpa’s bones weren’t even cold yet, and they sent out invitations behind my back! I almost went crazy with anger when I found out. I had a huge fight with them and got grounded, forbidden from seeing you.” He sounded more resentful the more he spoke, lowering his head to rub the tip of his nose against the side of He Qing’s neck, speaking with a long nasal whine. “I’ve explained it to you so many times, but you just won’t believe me… what do you want me to do?”
He Qing turned his head to avoid the intimacy, gritting his teeth in forbearance. “I didn’t trust you enough? You haven’t even broken off the engagement yet! Why should I believe you?”
Who wasn’t a young master raised with gold and jade? The innate pride in his bones meant that even if his family had fallen, he would never allow his feelings and dignity to be trampled on like this.
“I didn’t get engaged to her… there’s no breaking off to speak of, I never planned to…”
Hearing him still confusing right and wrong, the faint wavering in He Qing’s heart extinguished instantly. He drove his elbow backward hard, struggling to push him away. “Let go! I’m leaving!”
“Hey don’t! Don’t go!” Zhou Shu hurriedly clamped him tighter, coaxing repeatedly, “My fault, my fault! It’s all Hubby’s fault, okay?” He softened his voice, rubbing He Qing’s nose tip lightly like smoothing a cat’s fur, trying to ease the atmosphere. “It’s really just an exchange of interests between me and her, using each other. I’m done on my side. Once her dad takes full power and things are settled, she’ll definitely kick me to the curb immediately. Just believe me one last time.”
He Qing pursed his lips and said nothing, his eyes still full of suspicion.
Seeing him like this, Zhou Shu felt anxious and continued to pledge loyalty. “Look, I fell out with my family for you, I don’t even go home anymore. Doesn’t that prove it? If I really wanted to get engaged to her, would I need to make myself abandoned by everyone like this? Right?”
He Qing: “I didn’t ask you to do this for me. Stop deceiving yourself.”
“Fine, fine, fine, I did it voluntarily, it has nothing to do with you.” Zhou Shu just went along with him, coaxing and praising for a while. Once the body in his arms wasn’t as stiff as before and the resistance lessened, he struck while the iron was hot. “But every word Hubby said is true! If I lie to Baby, may I be struck by lightning…”
He Qing frowned and suddenly covered his mouth, stopping his words. His tone carried a subconscious nervousness and rebuke: “Shut up! What else can you do besides swear oaths?”
The other party looked at him eagerly and responded with his tongue. Feeling the warm sensation on his palm, He Qing retracted his hand quickly as if burned.
Zhou Shu grabbed the retreating hand and held it tight. “Then what do you want me to do? You say it, I’ll do it all.”
He Qing looked at him and said word for word, “Before you completely cancel the engagement, you aren’t allowed to come find me again.”
“That won’t do!” Zhou Shu refused without thinking. “How long has it been since I saw you? I missed you so much I’m almost useless. I wish I could keep you in my pocket every day. Asking Hubby not to see you is harder than killing me.” As he spoke, his body dishonestly thrust forward, smiling wickedly. “Pick another one.”
He Qingâs cheeks warmed, and he glared at him in shame and annoyance. “…Don’t touch me!”
He understood now. The punishment his wife had for him was far from over. Not seeing him before was one thing, but now that everything was cleared up and the person was right beside him, not only did he not throw himself into Hubby’s arms to reconcile, but he also wouldn’t give him any meat to eat. Making him drool helplessly was even more deadly than before.
“Baby, can you really bear to see Hubby suffer like this?” Zhou Shuâs face fell. He pulled He Qingâs hand pitifully and pressed it against himself. “I’m going to get sick from holding it in…”
“I can.” He Qing pulled his hand back, his face crimson, but his tone was hard. “If you don’t even have this little self-control, then forget it.”
Looking at the tips of his ears tinged with red, Zhou Shuâs heart itched terribly. Knowing he couldn’t push too hard, he gritted his teeth and retreated. He leaned into his ear and kissed, begging with a mix of coaxing and deception, “Fine! Then we’ll count from next time. Or let Hubby take out a loan first. Baby, this time… help me lick this time, okay? Just for a while, just a while and Hubby will…”
Hearing him speak more and more out of lineâonly thinking of this kind of thing upon meetingâHe Qing couldn’t bear it anymore. He raised his hand in anger to slap his face.
Zhou Shu grabbed his wrist with quick eyes and hands, coaxing gently, “Okay, okay, no need for that. This is fine, right?”
He shook He Qingâs hand, acting a bit like a rascal. “Just this once, help me. I really held it in too long; if it doesn’t get treated, it’s going to break… Wifey, good Wifey…”
He Qing turned his head away, not looking at him or responding.
Seeing his stubborn yet helpless appearance, Zhou Shu knew he just needed a catalyst. Fire rose in his heart. Boldly, he pulled the person tighter into his arms, one arm clamping his waist while the other hand began to campaign up and down unruly. With a hint of threat, but more like flirting, he whispered in his ear, “Baby, we aren’t at the bar entrance anymore… It’s just the two of us here. If I really wanted to do something to you, you couldn’t resist… You’re going back with me in the end anyway. If you don’t behave, I’ll do it myself…”
Entangled by him until his body was weak and trembling, He Qingâs struggle seemed futile against the absolute difference in strength. In the end, before the other stripped him, he admitted defeat. Half-pushing, half-yielding, he was guided to do that deed. He was furious and couldn’t help cursing him: “Bastard…”
Zhou Shu held him contentedly, thick-skinned as he agreed, “I am, I am. I’m the biggest bastard in the world…”
Jiang Yan slept unexpectedly deeply, only waking up slowly as evening approached. The narrow bed was filled with the clean, pleasant scent of his Ge, allowing him to relax his vigilance for once.
The dorm was quiet; everyone else had gone out. He grabbed his phone and looked. There was a long-winded message from Qian Cheng sent at 3 PM, saying Zhou Shu checked the schedule and knew they had no class in the afternoon. Seeing him sleeping soundly, he didn’t wake him. He reminded him it was windy and going to rain, the umbrella was on the balcony, remember to take it when leaving, and finally enthusiastically expressed that Cousin was welcome to come often…
This attentiveness was more considerate than his own mother.
Jiang Yan scanned it quickly without reading closely, replied with a casual “En,” and turned off the screen.
Sitting up, he could still smell his Ge’s scent lingering on the bedding, and his heart inevitably felt a bit restless. He composed himself, got out of bed, and walked to the balcony to get the umbrella.
The sky was already somewhat gloomy, the temperature had dropped significantly, and the wind was howling, causing the clothes hanging on the line to sway endlessly.
Suddenly, a short gust of wind swept past. A piece of light fabric detached from a hanger, drifting down to land precisely on his raised hand.
Jiang Yan looked down. It was a pair of washed, clean, and soft underwear. Judging by the size, no one knew better than himâthis was his Ge, Jiang Yunianâs.
The cool touch of cotton came from his fingertips, seemingly still carrying the fragrance of laundry detergent. Jiang Yanâs eye color deepened unconsciously, the pads of his fingers absently rubbing the soft fabric.
Click.
Just then, the dormitory door was pushed open from the outside.
Jiang Yunian, holding several books just borrowed from the library, stepped in. looking up, he met the eyes of the person on the balcony.
He saw the other party bowing his head slightly, holding…
Jiang Yunianâs eyes widened, a thin flush of shame and indignation rising on his face.
“What are you doing?”
