Chapter 85: Staying Overnight
Qian Cheng was someone who knew how to find a way out.
On one side was a roommate he got along with fairly well; on the other was a golden thigh he had to hug tight. Naturally, he didn’t want these two to really clash.
Although the situation in front of him left him baffled, since the “victim” himself had spoken, it was definitely a misunderstanding. Thinking about Jiang Yunianâs wimpy look, he wouldn’t have the guts to offend someone to their face anyway. His brain spun fast, changing his expression like flipping a page, laughing it off: “So it was a misunderstanding!”
He reached out to wrap his arm around Jiang Yunianâs shoulder, patting it hard. “Sorry, brother. I was too anxious just now and spoke a bit harshly. Didn’t scare you, did I? Want Ge to wipe your tears for you?” He spoke incoherently, not even knowing what nonsense he was spouting.
Jiang Yanâs face darkened again because of his last sentence.
Jiang Yunian quickly blocked the hand Qian Cheng tried to extend, shaking his head. “I’m fine.”
His eyes were a bit evasive, stealing a glance at Jiang Yan. He seemed more worried about whether he had injured the other party by pushing him, as the force just now wasn’t light.
Jiang Yan met his secretly glancing gaze, pretending not to see it, and said faintly, “Just playing around.”
Only then did Qian Cheng completely relax. Big-hearted as he was, he immediately threw that bit of unhappiness to the back of his mind. He affectionately put his arm around Jiang Yanâs shoulder, leading him toward the computer. “Go, go, go, Cousin. That round just now wasn’t finished. Hurry and advise me, how do I pass this next level?”
Jiang Yan went with him.
Jiang Yunian stood in place, gently patting his cheeks which were still a bit hot, and exhaled a thin breath. Then he sped up, finishing washing the remaining clothes quickly and hanging them up one by one.
He had planned to preview the lessons for tomorrow evening, but seeing his desk piled high with snacks, drinks, and a game console by Qian Cheng, leaving no space at all, and the other two heads close together staring at the screen discussing the game, he decided less trouble was better. silently, he picked up his textbook, climbed into bed, and read by the small bedside lamp.
After an unknown amount of time, the sound of gaming outside finally came to an end.
“It’s this late already!” Qian Cheng cared about nothing when playing games, and obviously, the other party hadn’t noticed either. However, driving back to Jinghe from the school took over an hour, and it was so late…
He knew from the news that Jiang Yan was staying at a suburban manor recently to keep old master Qi company while he recuperated. Going back and forth was quite inconvenient, so he made a polite offer in passing: “Cousin, look, it’s already midnight. Going back is a hassle. How about… making do here tonight?”
Jiang Yunian, reading in bed, pricked up his ears instantly upon hearing this, a foreboding feeling rising in his heart. But looking at the two empty beds opposite, he felt his worry was superfluous. Despite this, he still cautiously pulled the bed curtains tight.
Qian Cheng was really just being polite; he never thought the other party would agree. After all, this master could stay in a presidential suite at a five-star hotel at worst; why squeeze into a small hard plank bed here?
However, the other’s reaction made his jaw drop again.
“Okay.” Jiang Yan agreed almost without hesitation.
It took Qian Cheng several seconds to digest this and confirm he hadn’t heard wrong. reacting fairly quickly, he pointed at an empty bed. “Just right, Xu Zhiyuan went next door. Cousin, if you don’t mind, make do on his bed?”
Following the direction he pointed, Jiang Yan glanced at the fairly tidy bed. But given that Jiang Yan had lived in luxury since childhood, he inevitably felt disdain, though he showed none on his face.
Jiang Yunian listened to the movement outside from within his curtains. Hearing Jiang Yan was really going to stay overnight, he felt a bit anxious. But on second thought, the other person was sleeping in Xu Zhiyuanâs bed, separated from him by an aisle. Plus, this was the dorm, Qian Cheng was here, and the soundproofing was bad. No matter what, Jiang Yan wouldn’t act recklessly. Thinking of this, he felt slightly relieved. Accompanied by Qian Chengâs gradual, light snoring, he couldn’t hold on and fell asleep.
However, he still overestimated his understanding of Jiang Yan and underestimated Jiang Yanâs patience and audacity.
In the middle of the night, while he was sleeping deeply, he groggily felt the bed sink slightly, as if something had climbed up. He opened his eyes alertly. In the darkness, a darker shadow loomed over, followed by a familiar scent.
“You…” scared out of his wits, just as he was about to cry out, his mouth was tightly covered by a warm, large hand.
“It’s me.” A low, husky voice sounded in his ear, carrying a force that allowed no doubt, and weight settled down with it.
Jiang Yunianâs heart raced with shock. He hadn’t expected him to be audacious to this extent. His teeth chattered with anger, but he couldn’t make a sound. Immediately after, he keenly sensed a subtle nuance, instantly panicking and struggling in a whisper, “Mmph mmph… You… what are you doing?” This is the dorm…
But he forgot, Jiang Yan was used to being willful. Even if he couldn’t act recklessly, he had done so many times before.
Sensing his resistance, Jiang Yan held one of his hands and whispered a lie in his ear: “It smells over there, can’t sleep.”
An incredibly clumsy excuse, arrogant to the extreme.
He lowered his head, burying the tip of his nose in his Ge’s neck, inhaling deeply, letting out a satisfied, light sigh as if receiving comfort. “Ge, you smell so good…”
In the darkness, a heart was restless. Under the sway of emotions, even breathing became chaotic. Jiang Yunian was both ashamed and annoyed, but under the absolute power suppression of the other party, his resistance seemed so feeble, futile like a kitten scratching with soft paw pads, revealing exhaustion.
Jiang Yunian grabbed his hand, his low voice changing tune, shaking his head in panic. “No…”
Next to them, Qian Chengâs snoring continued. Yet in this narrow, cramped space, separated only by a thin layer of bed curtains, he was with a man… This was all assaulting his psychological defenses.
In the darkness, Jiang Yan could vaguely see his moist eyes, feel his shrinking arms, and hear his whimpers that dared not be loud. He was so pitiful it broke one’s heart. An unspeakable sensation welled up in his chest, making him, who hadn’t planned to do anything, nearly unable to control himself.
He composed himself, took a deep breath, looked at the hand tightly gripping his wrist, and coaxed him with a voice so husky it was ridiculous: “Be good, let go… I won’t do anything.”
Jiang Yunianâs watery eyes rippled with dark waves, full of suspicion. After witnessing his deceptive methods in the past, his fingers still gripped tightly, daring not relax in the slightest.
Jiang Yan coaxed him patiently again. Lowering his head, gentle kisses landed sequentially on his forehead, eyes, and bridge of nose, finally covering those soft lips, sucking and sipping gently. He lingered for a moment before lifting his head, chest heaving slightly, breath a bit unstable. “Really…”
Clearly, he could break free from that powerless hand with a little force, but he didn’t. Compared to using those methods, he hoped his Ge could respond.
Jiang Yunian also knew deep down he was at an absolute disadvantage and couldn’t resist at all. Especially since his lips were kissed a bit numb and swollen. Although he still didn’t believe it, right now, whether he believed or not, the result didn’t seem up to him. He bit his lower lip, hesitated for a long time, and confirmed with a last shred of hope: “…Really?”
Jiang Yan stared into his eyes in the darkness. “En.”
After a good while, the other party squeezed out words as tiny as a mosquito’s buzz with extreme difficulty: “Then… then you aren’t allowed to take that out…”
Jiang Yan couldn’t hold back and let out a low laugh. Even in the pitch black, he could imagine his Ge’s cute appearance right nowâseeing enemies at every turn, yet forced to compromise. Even at a time like this, not recognizing reality and daring to bargain with him.
But he still agreed with a good temper: “Okay, I won’t take that out.”
Then he waited patiently for him to let go.
After another while, Jiang Yan couldn’t help but shake his muscular arm, causing the patch of white on his hand to flash back and forth, carrying a hint of urging. Jiang Yunian finally compromised, awkwardly loosening his grip bit by bit.
With this release, almost immediately, he felt the weight on his body sink heavily, like a lamb placed on the dining table for the guest to savor in detail. His lips were sucked even more forcefully, cheeks, neck… inspected all the way.
Jiang Yunian hadn’t been this intimate for a long time. And this was far from the main point; he felt his whole being was about to be swallowed by the aura radiating from the person on top of him. On his small bed in the dorm, amidst the snoring of others sleeping soundly, being tasted inch by inch, kissed until he lost his mind. If someone found out… he simply didn’t dare imagine how shameful that would be.
But at this moment, he couldn’t care about face or dignity. Kissed dizzy and consciousness blurring, he could only passively have his mouth eaten. Who knew how much time passed, long enough for him to feel like a rack of lamb stripped clean to the bone, casually tossed aside, turning into an empty shell staring blankly at the dark bed curtains overhead. All surrounding sounds, all sense of existence faded.
If not for the cover of darkness, if Jiang Yan had seen clearly his bullied, absent-minded appearance right now, he might have gone back on his word on the spot, throwing reason and promises to the back of his mind, and done things against his will regardless of everything.
But now, relying on his scarce remaining reason, Jiang Yan pulled away the obstacles messily, laid the person beneath him flat, straightened up himself, and relieved the longing that had been building for days.
The night slipped away quietly, unbeknownst to the whitening east.
…
Qian Cheng slept like a dead pig, sleeping until ten in the morning. He rubbed his eyes and climbed up, seeing Jiang Yunian packing his bag. His gaze paused on his face, swept over his slightly red and swollen lips, and landed on a brown mark below.
“What’s wrong with your neck?”
Jiang Yunianâs movements froze. His cheeks reddened quietly, and he tugged at his collar somewhat unnaturally, mumbling, “Last night… there were mosquitoes, scratched it.”
Qian Cheng yawned and joked, “Mosquitoes are that fierce? Bit you like that? If I didn’t know you didn’t go out last night, I’d have thought you were gnawed on by some passionate little wild cat.”
Jiang Yunianâs ears turned even redder. Afraid he would expose something if he asked more, he quickly hugged his textbook, hurriedly said “I’m going to class,” and practically fled.
If Qian Cheng had observed carefully, he would have discovered that when Jiang Yunian went out, those straight long legs walked with a slight tremor.
Suburbs, Jinghe Manor.
Morning sunlight spilled into the dining room through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows. Qi Nanshan sat at the head of the table, looking haggard, his face the pallor of chronic illness, occasionally covering his mouth to cough low. He only moved his chopsticks a few times before waving his hand, signaling the servants to clear it away.
“I’m full.” Jiang Yan wiped his mouth clean.
The butler standing aside quickly stepped forward and advised in a low voice, “Young Master, you haven’t dined with the Chairman for a long time. These dishes were specially prepared by the kitchen according to what you love to eat. Please have some more.”
Jiang Yan didn’t even lift his eyelids, speaking coldly: “What I loved to eat as a child doesn’t mean I like it now.”
“…”
The butler wanted to persuade him further but was stopped by Qi Nanshan raising his hand.
Turbid eyes met Jiang Yanâs indifferent ones, revealing a trace of authority. “Next week’s banquet, you must be present.”
Jiang Yan didn’t respond, nor did he object. He turned and left.
The butler watched his retreating back, hesitated for a moment, but still reported to Qi Nanshan in a low voice: “Young Master Sun has been very studious recently, often staying at school.”
Qi Nanshanâs wrinkled face was deep and unfathomable. He was silent for a moment before speaking slowly: “Go check who he has been in contact with recently.”
The butler bowed slightly and whispered a name in his ear.
After listening, Qi Nanshan remained silent for even longer. Finally, he just sighed, carrying a complex emotion, and murmured low:
“As expected of his son…”
