Chapter 78: The Cannon Fodder in a Dogblood Novel (78)
Shen Tangqing didn’t want to drink his leftover water. After spitting mentally tui, he reluctantly took the cup with a cold face, drank two sips randomly, and slammed it heavily onto the table in front of him.
Li Qiulan’s gaze first swept over Shen Tangqing’s tense profile, then fell on the cup of water. A few seconds later, he reached out, picked up the cup, and in front of Shen Tangqing, drank the remaining water.
Shen Tangqing’s pupils contracted slightly, and deep disgust flooded his eyes.
“Li Qiulan, I drank from that. Are you disgusting or what?”
“Not disgusting. [Kiss/indirect kiss], besides, it’s just a cup of leftover water?”
One sentence made Shen Tangqing’s face change completely. The scenes of that night instantly floated into his mind. Disgust wound around his heart like a vine. He couldn’t help turning sideways and dry-heaving a few times.
Disgusting. Truly too disgusting.
The smile on Li Qiulan’s lips vanished, and a trace of fake grievance floated in his eyes. Even his voice took on a pitiful tone. “Does Brother find me that disgusting?”
A suppressed growl squeezed out of Shen Tangqing’s throat. “I’m a f*cking grown man. Don’t you think it’s disgusting?”
The bit of feigned grievance in Li Qiulan’s eyes faded completely with Shen Tangqing’s words, leaving only heavy gloom. He spoke slowly, pausing at every word as if deliberately controlling his speed.
“Brother, you are really making me very unhappy…”
“When I’m unhappy, I tend to go crazy. Once I go crazy, I can’t control myself. When I can’t control myself, I tend to do irrational things, for example—do things to you that make you unhappy too…”
Shen Tangqing gritted his back teeth, his jawline tense into a cold, hard arc. Even his breathing became heavy with suppression.
He suddenly swung his hand across the table. The cup Li Qiulan had just touched crashed to the floor with a clang, water splashing and broken porcelain scattering everywhere.
“Li Qiulan, you are a f*cking lunatic…” His voice trembled—not from fear, but from the irritability of being pushed to the limit by this endless entanglement. “I already told you, I don’t like men. You trapping me here will only make me hate you more and more.”
Li Qiulan stared at the fragments on the floor, the light in his eyes dimming until only thick, undissolvable darkness remained. He didn’t look at Shen Tangqing. Instead, he crouched down, picking up a dry shard with his fingertips, gently rubbing its edge with the pad of his finger.
Shen Tangqing looked at him warily, feeling that Li Qiulan’s silence was like the calm before a storm.
Sure enough, two minutes later, Li Qiulan suddenly laughed. The laughter was low, hoarse, and tinged with madness. He tossed the shard back onto the floor, stood up, and slowly approached Shen Tangqing.
Only when there was a fist’s distance between them did he speak in a low voice wrapped in a thin layer of chill, the possessiveness in his eyes almost swallowing Shen Tangqing whole.
“Brother should be sleepy, right? I’ll take you back to the room to sleep.”
Shen Tangqing’s brain jolted. Sleep? Sleep together? Sleep with your mother!
He kept a cold face, retreating two steps, his voice full of hard resistance. “No need for you to take me. I know how to go back to the room myself.”
Li Qiulan didn’t speak, but those eyes soaked in gloom locked onto him tightly, like a beast staring at prey, or a venomous snake waiting in a dark corner…
The next second, he suddenly reached out, his palm clasping Shen Tangqing’s waist with such force it seemed he wanted to knead the person into his own body.
Shen Tangqing struggled violently, slamming his elbow toward the chest, but Li Qiulan easily grabbed his wrist and pinned it behind his back.
“Brother, don’t move,” Li Qiulan’s breath landed on the side of Shen Tangqing’s neck, carrying a heat that nauseated him. “The more you struggle, the more I want to tie you up—you don’t want to be chained to the headboard by me tonight like last time, do you?”
These words were like a basin of cold water poured over Shen Tangqing, making his whole body stiffen instantly. The suffocating feeling of that night resurfaced from the bottom of his heart. He gritted his teeth, veins throbbing on his forehead, but he dared not provoke Li Qiulan further.
He was a lunatic. If really pushed, he could do anything.
Li Qiulan sensed his stiffness and hooked his lips into a satisfied smile, carrying Shen Tangqing toward the room.
Shen Tangqing’s entire body remained rigid. Only when they exited the lounge door did he notice Li Qiulan’s body seemingly trembling slightly… He paused for a moment. Am I too heavy? He can’t carry me? This—he’s not very capable, is he!
“Put me down, I’ll walk myself.”
Li Qiulan’s face was somewhat pale, but in the dimly lit corridor, Shen Tangqing didn’t notice.
“Not putting you down.”
Shen Tangqing: …
Shen Tangqing was so angry he closed his mouth and even his eyes. Just let this idiot exhaust himself to death!
It wasn’t until they entered the room and Li Qiulan placed him on the bed that Shen Tangqing opened his eyes. He glanced at Li Qiulan and unceremoniously issued an eviction order.
“Get out, I’m going to sleep.”
Except for the first night when Li Qiulan shamelessly slept in the same bed, Li Qiulan hadn’t slept with him for the remaining days.
Li Qiulan stood by the bed and suddenly bent down to grab Shen Tangqing’s wrist. Shen Tangqing wanted to struggle, but he had no strength and couldn’t break free at all. He could only glare at a certain someone.
Li Qiulan seemed completely unaware of Shen Tangqing’s gaze. His thumb slowly and gently rubbed the skin on Shen Tangqing’s wrist, causing a hidden tingling sensation. Shen Tangqing could even feel the palm prints on Li Qiulan’s fingertips… This “strange” sensation brought the nausea back up in his heart.
“Let go of me…”
Li Qiulan didn’t let go. He looked at Shen Tangqing and spoke faintly, “Tonight I’m sleeping with Brother.”
Shen Tangqing’s face changed drastically. “Li Qiulan, you said you wouldn’t force me if I wasn’t willing.”
“I did say I wouldn’t force Brother, but… Brother has to get used to being intimate with me.”
“I can’t get used to it. Li Qiulan, if you really like me, you shouldn’t force me. This isn’t love, it’s selfishness, it’s shameful possessiveness.”
Shen Tangqing tried to reason with him. But a lunatic, whose mind is full only of ‘want’ and ‘get’—how could he understand letting go? No one taught him, and he couldn’t possibly learn. In Li Qiulan’s world, as long as he wanted something, he definitely, absolutely had to get it, even by unscrupulous means.
He lowered his eyes, eyelashes casting a small shadow beneath them, his voice weirdly calm yet carrying paranoid seriousness.
“I don’t understand the ‘logic’ Brother speaks of. I only know that things I want belong to me only when clutched in my hand, just like—I’m clutching you now.”
“Li Qiulan, can you be reasonable?” Shen Tangqing’s voice was cold and hard, but carried a trace of undetectable exhaustion. “I can’t be with you. Even if you tie me by your side, you can only tie my person.”
He really had no moves left against this person. Dammit, he just wouldn’t listen!
“That’s enough,” Li Qiulan finally looked up, his eyes showing no wavering, only undissolvable possessiveness. “As long as you are by my side, that’s enough.”
He released Shen Tangqing’s wrist.
“Brother, I don’t want to endure anymore.”
