Chapter 19: Likes Being Held
Chi Youchu couldn’t keep up the act anymore. He shot Ye Ran a glance and stopped being stubborn. “Fine, it’s a birthday cake for you. Happy Birthday.”
He just loved how Chi Youchu looked when he couldn’t win an argument. Ye Ran thanked him with a laugh.
Ye Ran’s laughter instead ignited Chi Youchu’s fighting spirit; he had to win it back.
Chi Yuheng came down from upstairs. Seeing Ye Ran hanging on the railing like that, he gave his butt a light pat. “If you’re not going down, what are you doing here?”
It was a very natural movement, but Ye Ran thought of the topic they had just discussed on the bed, and his butt couldn’t help but twitch.
That was a close call; he almost let Chi Yuheng see everything just now.
The two went downstairs one after another. Only when they drew close did Chi Youchu finally see that something was wrong.
“Ge, you and him…”
Ye Ran instinctively blocked his words. “We didn’t do anything.”
They indeed hadn’t done anything; he had just slept and had a dream.
Chi Youchu’s gaze shifted. “I didn’t say you did anything.”
“It’s just…”
He pointed his finger at their heads. “You two… bumped into the same telephone pole?”
Ye Ran quickly looked at Chi Yuheng’s head. There was a red patch at his forehead, and his own head had a similar red patch in the same spot. This was from the bump when he just woke up; it was quite heavy, and the marks hadn’t faded yet.
Chi Youchu’s face was full of question marks. “Ge, it’s normal for someone as impulsive as Ye Ran to bump into a telephone pole, but how can someone as steady as you bump into the same spot?”
Impulsive (Hulibaji)?
How was he impulsive!
Ye Ran looped an arm around Chi Youchu’s neck, dragged him to the sofa, and neatly put him in a headlock. “Chi the Second, who did you call impulsive?!”
Chi Youchu patted Ye Ran’s arm. “Don’t think I can’t beat you. I’m just not stooping to your level for my brother’s sake.”
Ye Ran: “You don’t need to look at him. Try stooping to my level!”
Chi Youchu refused to submit, using both hands and feet to lock Ye Ran as well.
In less than a minute, the two were locked together, turning into a “long piece of fried dough twist.”
“…”
Seeing these two childish brats who either argued or fought every time they met since childhood, Chi Yuheng’s head ached a bit.
Finally, he grabbed one in each hand and separated them.
“Stop messing around!”
Chi Youchu was still shouting indignantly, “Ge, he started it! He put me in a headlock!”
Ha, this trick again.
Since they were young, Chi Youchu would go to Chi Yuheng to tattle whenever he couldn’t win a fight or an argument. The more he was like this, the more Ye Ran couldn’t control his desire to punch him.
Win against him if you have the ability; what’s with the tattling?
There’s a saying: “If you can’t beat them, join them.” And another saying: “Defeat magic with magic.”
Ye Ran mimicked Chi Youchu’s manner and complained to Chi Yuheng: “He started it by talking nonsense, calling me impulsive.”
Chi Youchu grew anxious. “Ye the Third, you are impulsive; am I not allowed to say it?!”
Ye Ran: “Then your brother bumped his head too. Why don’t you call him impulsive?!”
“…”
It was starting again.
Chi Yuheng pinched the bridge of his nose. Hearing the two chirping in his ears, he thought their combined age was five years old at most, no more.
Finally, their bickering paused under the pressure of Chi Yuheng’s gaze.
…
There was nothing to do in the afternoon, so the three of them sat on the sofa watching TV.
Initially, Chi Youchu wanted to sit next to Chi Yuheng, and Ye Ran wanted to sit with him too. The two were like two puppies fighting over something, and Chi Yuheng became the food they wanted to snatch.
Chi Youchu felt his condition wasn’t great and couldn’t even win a bickering match against Ye Ran, so he simply took the first move and sat down right next to Chi Yuheng.
Actually, Ye Ran could have sat on the other side of Chi Yuheng, but he just didn’t want to lose to Chi Youchu. Taking advantage of a moment when the other wasn’t paying attention, he suddenly waved his hand and pulled Chi Youchu aside like pulling a radish, sitting himself down right between them.
The scheme succeeded. He even flashed a middle finger at Chi Youchu to show off.
Chi Youchu tried to pull Ye Ran away. “That’s my brother. Move aside.”
Ye Ran simply hugged Chi Yuheng tightly, leaned his head on him, and threw three words at Chi Youchu: “I. Won’t. Do. It.”
This time Chi Yuheng didn’t stop the two children from fooling around. His gaze stayed on the financial program, and the corners of his lips curled up unconsciously.
If they could mess around like this, it wasn’t a bad thing.
Ye Ran hadn’t even been holding him for a minute when Xin Yu appeared at a very inopportune time.
“Young Master Ye, the modification shop owner drove the car back.”
Ye Ran’s eyes brightened instantly. He let go of Chi Yuheng and sat properly, his lips curving up. “So fast! I thought I’d have to wait until tonight.”
How much the corner of Ye Ran’s mouth curved up was how much the corner of Chi Yuheng’s mouth turned down.
Sure enough, happiness is fleeting.
Chi Yuheng looked at the culprit with a dark face.
Xin Yu shivered from the gaze sent by his boss, not knowing how he had offended him.
He had clearly only said one sentence since entering! Where did things go wrong?
He thought carefully about the scene when he entered. At that time, Young Master Ye was hugging the Boss, and the Boss’s lips seemed to be curving up.
Xin Yu understood instantly: so the Boss likes being held, and he especially likes being held by Young Master Ye.
He had followed Chi Yuheng for so long; let alone hugging, if anyone got too close to him, Chi Yuheng would force them away with a single look.
He didn’t refuse when Ye Ran hugged him and even smiled happily; that meant Chi Yuheng liked it.
Xin Yu felt he was truly brilliant.
On the sofa, Ye Ran poked Chi Youchu—who didn’t want to talk to him—with a finger. “Let’s go. Come outside with me.”
Because he didn’t win against Ye Ran, Chi Youchu was sulking. Hearing him call, he didn’t even raise his eyes. “What for?”
Ye Ran: “You’ll know once we go out.”
Chi Youchu turned his head to the side and said stubbornly, “Not going.”
Ye Ran leaned back on the sofa. “If you don’t go, the gift is gone.”
“Gift?” Chi Youchu’s ears twitched instantly, and the curiosity in his heart was piqued. But on his face, he still acted as if he didn’t care, only his voice was softer than before. “You’d be kind enough to give me a gift?”
Ye Ran raised his eyebrows, leaned over, and whispered a few words in his ear.
Chi Youchu’s eyebrows instantly shot to the sky in surprise.
“Let’s go, let’s go. Let’s go see.” He dragged Ye Ran and walked out.
In the large living room, only Chi Yuheng and the sound of the TV program remained.
“…”
Chi Yuheng sighed softly.
The hug was gone, and now the person was gone too.
…
Chi Youchu saw the sports car outside the gate from afar; it was his favorite one.
Only, unlike before, the car body had many modifications, and he couldn’t wait to walk out and get into the car. The interior was also completely refreshed.
The tires were the best, almost reaching racing standards; it simply interpreted the words “cool and flashy” to the extreme.
Chi Youchu couldn’t suppress the excitement in his heart. He had wanted to modify this car for a long time. The pocket money Chi Yuheng gave him wasn’t small, but he spent it all every month and couldn’t save up enough to modify it.
Chi Yuheng wouldn’t let him go racing either, so he just kept the car in the garage, only driving it out a few times to satisfy his craving.
Who would have thought that Ye Ran actually modified it for him!
He understood him way too well.
Ye Ran stood by the car, rested a hand on the door, and spoke up: “Like it?”
“I like it. I love it too much.”
Chi Youchu looked at Ye Ran with starry eyes. “This must have cost a lot. Where did you get the money?”
