Chapter 44: A Bit Hard on the Waist
The clothes in the closet already explained everything.
An entire row inside was filled with Chi Yuhengâs clothes.
Ye Ran stood there momentarily speechless. To say he had stolen Chi Yuhengâs clothes wouldn’t be accurate, as he had worn them back one by one. But to say he hadn’t stolen them… looking at the quantity, he had practically moved Chi Yuhengâs entire wardrobe.
The corners of Chi Yuhengâs mouth hooked up uncontrollably. “Do you like my clothes that much?”
“Like them, my ass.”
Ye Ran muttered, completely unable to clear his name. He suspected the bastard already saw him as some pervert with a fetish for stealing people’s clothes.
He took a step forward to the closet, forcibly occupying Chi Yuhengâs position. The man took the opportunity to sit on the large bed behind him, leaning back slightly with his hands naturally supporting himself on either side.
Ye Ran took Chi Yuhengâs clothes out of the suitcase one by one, found hangers in the closet, and hung them up properly.
Chi Yuheng sat by the bed in a relaxed posture, his eyes following Ye Ran as he put away the clothes. Occasionally, his gaze would catch the color of the underwear beneath the shirt revealed by Ye Ranâs stretching movements.
The Big Boss felt quite pleased in his heart. His little leaf-let really knew how to take care of people.
His eyes followed Ye Ran as rustling sounds reached his ears.
Xu Huiyang reached a sudden realization. “Ye Ran actually took all of your brother’s clothes. No wonder. I always felt the clothes he was wearing weren’t right; they looked oversized no matter how I looked at them…”
This time, even Chi Youchu felt something was off. “Thatâs not normal. Stealing my brother’s clothes to wear… what normal person does that?”
“Could it be… those two have something going on?!”
Because Chi Youchu was too shocked, his volume was a bit high. Xu Huiyangâs eardrums were rattled by his voice. “Can’t you keep it down? If those two hear us, we’re both finished.”
Hearing Xu Huiyang say this, Chi Youchu felt his skin tighten.
The “melon-eating” duo was chatting happily. Because of the earphones Ye Ran had plugged into his phone earlier, Chi Yuheng and Ye Ranâs dialogue was clear to them, while the other side couldn’t hear what those two were saying.
If Chi Yuheng hadn’t sat on the bed and accidentally heard their voices from the nearby earphones, he wouldn’t have known his conversation with Ye Ran was being “live-streamed.”
He glanced at Ye Ranâs phone. It was on the game interface, and he had already successfully formed a team with two people, waiting for him to return to start the round.
As for who these two were, Chi Yuheng knew clearly with a glance at the game names. He knew Chi Youchuâs game account, and Xu Huiyangâs was even more obvious: [Xu Zhaoli Calls Me Big Brother].
Having been eavesdropped on for so long, and seeing such a “rebellious” game name, Chi Yuheng considered whether he should have a word with his partner and good brother.
The two were still discussing back and forth, completely unaware that they had been exposed.
Chi Yuheng tapped Ye Ranâs phone and exited the room.
As the two were talking, they suddenly realized a person was missing from the room.
“Holy shit, could they have heard what we were talking about?” Xu Huiyang asked.
Chi Youchu knit his brows. “Isn’t Ye Ranâs phone connected to earphones? It shouldn’t be… anyway, as long as it wasn’t discovered by my brother, it’s fine…”
Ye Ran intentionally mixed the clothes Chi Yuheng brought with the ones he had taken. Since they were all Chi Yuhengâs clothes anyway, they would be indistinguishable this way.
After a bout of busy work, he successfully destroyed the evidence of his “clothes theft.”
Ye Ran clapped his hands. “Done.”
Turning around, he saw Chi Yuheng sitting on the bed, seemingly looking at something.
“What are you doing?” Ye Ran asked.
Chi Yuheng sat up straight. “Seeing if this bed of yours is comfortable.”
Ye Ran rolled his eyes. To want to stay in the same room as him and then be picky about his bedâbelieve it or not, heâd kick the man off when they slept tonight.
Ye Ran closed Chi Yuhengâs empty suitcase and then went to the bed to get his phone.
The phone was still on the game interface, but he had exited the room.
“When did they disband the room?” Ye Ran spoke out of curiosity.
Chi Yuheng: “Maybe they saw you hadn’t come back for a while and disbanded it.”
Ye Ran didn’t think anything was wrong. “Likely.”
Chi Yuheng stood up and took a preliminary turn around the room. Ye Ran followed behind him, complaining as they walked.
“Which idiot designed this hotel? The infinity pool on the balcony is nice, but putting a water bed in the roomâcouldn’t they put a different bed?”
Chi Yuheng turned his head, his gaze deepening. “I designed it.”
“So you’re that idâ”
Ye Ranâs last word couldn’t come out and was forcibly swallowed back down.
Hearing this, Chi Yuheng suddenly hooked his lips into a playful smile. His chin tilted slightly as his gaze fell on the large water bed with a hint of inquiry. “Have you tried that bed?”
To Ye Ran, these words were equivalent to nonsense.
Ye Ran rolled his eyes in his heart. Isn’t that obvious?
He had tossed and turned for half an hour against his drowsiness last night before finding a point of balance on this swaying bed. After falling asleep, he felt like he was floating on the sea; someone prone to seasickness would probably vomit just lying on it.
Ye Ran turned his face away. “I made do and slept a bit. It felt so-so, like falling into a pile of cotton. It’s a bit hard on the waist…”
Chi Yuheng raised an eyebrow. He didn’t refute but instead bent down, his fingertips lightly touching the surface of the water bed. The soft bed instantly rippled in a circle.
This bed was custom-made, costing three times as much as a normal large bed.
One might not be used to it when first sleeping on it, but after getting used to it and switching beds, they would likely miss the feeling of sleeping on this one.
However, Ye Ran said it was hard on his waist…
Chi Yuheng asked knowingly, “Is Young Master Yeâs waist tired because of this bed, or because you played too hard while surfing yesterday?”
Ye Ranâs mouth twitched. “My surfing technique is fine. Itâs definitely because of your bed.”
Right after saying that, he followed up with, “Chi Yuheng, I never pursued An Yiyi.”
One second they were arguing about the water bed and waist pain, and the next, he cut to the matter of pursuing someone. Seeing these unrelated topics mashed together by Ye Ran was quite something.
It was better to say it now than later, lest Chi Yuheng settle old and new accounts together when he caught him red-handed and give him another “lesson.”
Chi Yuheng didn’t make a sound, so Ye Ran continued, “Really. Don’t listen to what Xu Huiyang says. I never pursued her. Those are all rumors from outsideâabsolute rumors.”
Afraid Chi Yuheng wouldn’t believe him, he specifically added, “If I ever pursued her, let her knock on the door right now and say she wants to be with me.”
Just as Ye Ranâs words fell, Knock, knock, knock…
Ye Ran: “!!!”
Ye Ranâs expression instantly became wary.
