All the Furries in the Academy Want to Pet Me chapter 6.2

PART 2

Unlike in his previous life, freshmen at Bestia Academy didn’t have to go through military training. The first week was mostly orientation and lectures about the academy, with only a few classes.

Yan He didn’t explain where he’d been. He quickly washed up and went to bed.

He logged into the official academy app, Meng Shou, and sure enough, he found the driving school registration portal. The fee, however, gave him pause.

The fee for daytime lessons was 8,888 yuan, while night lessons were only 2,888. The difference was huge, and that didn’t even include exam fees and other costs. He knew a driving school in a noble academy would be expensive, but he hadn’t expected it to be this expensive.

Logically, night classes should be more expensive.

Yan He saw that the daytime class had over 200 monthly sign-ups, while the night class had only one.

After a moment’s consideration, Yan He decisively signed up and paid for the night class, muttering to himself, “If they dare to offer night classes, they must have safety measures in place. It’ll be fine.”

The driving instructor happened to see the new registration. The student had even signed up for the night class. He thought for a moment, then a relieved smile spread across his face. “This student dares to sign up for night class. He must not be afraid of trouble.”

It was all about mutual trust!

Yan He downloaded a driver’s test prep app and started feeling drowsy after studying for a while. He turned off his phone and went to sleep.

Lying in his own bed, Bai Yuzhou’s eyes glowed with a faint green light in the darkness. He watched Yan He’s sleeping form. His breathing was still a little uneven due to his cold. Bai Yuzhou couldn’t tell if Yan He was simply carefree, or if he was just too trusting of his new roommate.

Ever since his first beast transformation, Bai Yuzhou had been unable to sleep deeply at night, always maintaining a beast’s alertness.

Is it trust?

He thought so. Probably.

The next morning, a soft, thin layer of golden light streamed in through the window. Situated in the mountains, Bestia Academy’s morning air was still cool.

Yan He woke up early. He was standing in front of the full-length mirror, adjusting his black academy uniform. A glance at his phone showed it was exactly seven o’clock.

He slung his small backpack over his shoulder and immediately left the dormitory, heading to Cafeteria No. 1 for breakfast.

Today was his first official day as Yun Xiao’s lackey. He had to be proactive during his probationary period, so he planned to buy some breakfast and check in with Yun Xiao.

Of course, Yan He knew these noble young masters wouldn’t eat commoner food, but it was the proactive work attitude that counted!

Cafeteria No. 1 mainly served the specially-enrolled students, who tended to be more studious and wake up earlier than the rich kids. Thus, the cafeteria was already bustling in the early morning.

Yan He walked around and bought a basket of soup dumplings, two steamed buns, and two cups of soy milk.

“Sixty-eight yuan? Damn, what a breakfast assassin!” Yan He was shocked when he saw the bill. This much food would have only cost about twenty yuan in his past life. And from the perfect folds on the dumplings, he could tell they were pre-made.

Perhaps this “Cafeteria No. 1” was only for specially-enrolled students in comparison to the other, even more expensive cafeterias.

The cost of living at Bestia Academy was not low. Yan He was suddenly even more motivated to find ways to make money and get a part-time job.

As he walked out of the cafeteria, he saw Pan Ze leaning against a jewel-green luxury sedan, wearing sunglasses. The moment Pan Ze saw him, he said coolly, “I’ll give you a ride. Get in.”

The campus bus route didn’t go all the way to the F4’s common lounge. Yan He would have to walk another eight or nine hundred meters after getting off at the stop, which would be inconvenient while carrying things.

Yan He got into the car with his breakfast. “Didn’t Senior Pan say you wouldn’t be my chauffeur every time?”

Pan Ze got in and let out a strange laugh, sneering at the breakfast in Yan He’s hand. “It’s on my way. You think I wanted to pick you up? I’m using you as a control group!”

Shen Shao was temporarily away for medical treatment, but he had arranged for Pan Ze to hang around the other three F4 members and report back on any interesting happenings at the academy.

Pan Ze glanced mockingly at the breakfast in Yan He’s hands, then thought of the high-end breakfast he had waiting in a thermal container and smiled confidently.

That’s right. He was picking up Yan He on the way to see the F4 specifically to make him a control group. Without a trashy lackey like Yan He for comparison, how would Yun Shao and the others see how outstanding he was and value him more?

Because Pan Ze’s beast form was a spotted hyena, he wasn’t particularly tall, maybe around 178 cm. He even looked a bit ugly-cute when he smiled, with a naturally villainous face.

As a sucker for good looks, Yan He just glanced at him and said nothing.

As he drove, Pan Ze’s sensitive nose twitched. “Why aren’t you talking? Did you put on cologne?”

Trying to attract the F4’s attention with their keen sense of smell? Trying to beat me that way?

Devious!

Pan Ze was about to curse him for wearing “cheap cologne,” but he swallowed the words.

Damn it, he really does smell good.

Yan He couldn’t be bothered to reply. What straight guy wears cologne? This was just a rival trying to stir up trouble.

As the car drove away from Cafeteria No. 1 towards the F4’s common lounge, Bai Yuzhou and a few other specially-enrolled students watched the luxury car disappear.

“Bai Yuzhou, was that Yan He just now? Why was he in Senior Pan Ze’s car? Didn’t he help you out yesterday?”

Another student said, “I heard Senior Pan is a spotted hyena, right? The king of ripping out anuses! Is Yan He not afraid of getting screwed to death?”

“When Yan He handed you that tissue yesterday, was it just to get Senior Pan’s attention? He hooked up with him that fast!”

“Bai Yuzhou, Yan He is Pan Shao’s new lackey. You two share a dorm, so be careful.”

Bai Yuzhou watched the car drive away and suppressed his irritation. “Yeah.”

*

The car stopped in front of the F4’s common lounge. As usual, Pan Ze prepared to wait at the entrance, but he saw Yan He, carrying the breakfast, walk up to the gate and scan his face to enter.

Hearing no movement, Yan He turned to look at the stunned Pan Ze. “Senior Pan? Why aren’t you coming?”

Pan Ze’s mind reeled. No way. A lackey got his face registered? Although this isn’t a private villa, just a common lounge, no other lackey has this privilege. At least, I don’t.

Yan He asked doubtfully, “Senior Pan, you don’t have facial recognition access?”

Pan Ze sneered and immediately strode forward to walk in beside Yan He. “I just didn’t expect you to have it.”

It must be because Shen Shao isn’t as competent as Yun Shao, Pan Ze thought. It can’t be because my skills as a lackey are inferior to Yan He’s.

It’s better to doubt the boss than to doubt yourself!

Later, he would show the other F4 members that he, Pan Ze, was the one who deserved to be their number one lackey!

As the two entered the lounge, Yan He instinctively glanced towards the lawn but didn’t see the big tiger from last night.

The interior of the lounge was decorated in a lavish European Baroque style. It had high ceilings and intricate marble pillars carved with cherubs. An abundance of gilded furniture gave the space a magnificent air.

There was no one inside.

Seeing that no one was around, Yan He figured he might as well eat the breakfast himself. He hadn’t expected Yun Xiao to eat it anyway.

Beside him, Pan Ze’s ears twitched. He immediately stood up straight. “He Shao? Greetings, He Shao!” he said in disbelief.

Pan Ze hadn’t expected He Ting, who had just been in and out of the Discipline Room yesterday, to appear today as if nothing had happened!

What a terrifyingly powerful man! The object of the entire academy’s admiration.

Yan He looked up and saw a tall, aloof figure approaching. He was wearing the standard black academy uniform but stood out exceptionally. The black and gold nameplate on his chest displayed his noble status. His features were light and cool, exuding an innate air of dignity.

He Ting’s facial features combined the best of Eastern European and Northern Asian aesthetics. His eyes were deep-set, and his cool golden pupils finally showed a ripple of emotion when they landed on Yan He.

So, this was the head of the F4, He Ting.
