Chapter 21: Bai Tuanzi’s Answer

Lin Xia helplessly carried Bai Tuanzi and led the little hamster by the hand into the house. After washing their hands, he let them sit at the dining table.

“I’ll help.” After settling them down, Lin Xia went into the kitchen to help Tang Yinlang.

“Just take the dishes out, be careful, they’re hot.” Tang Yinlang instructed Lin Xia.

“I will.” Lin Xia said, and then carried the dishes out.

Tang Yinlang, seeing that he was fine, turned back to continue heating the dishes. The dishes were prepared in advance and only needed to be heated.

The food was quickly served, the delicious aroma making people drool. Bai Tuanzi and the little hamster had been playing for so long that they were starving.

There was a rich variety of dishes: soup, stir-fries, stews, and the portions were just right, nothing would be left over. It seemed that Tang Yinlang’s welcome dinner was for them. Lin Xia secretly smiled, pretending not to notice anything amiss. He wouldn’t expose the man’s intentions.

“Let’s eat.” Tang Yinlang didn’t say any polite words, directly asking everyone to start eating.

He first served everyone soup, then peeled shrimp for them before starting to eat his own meal.

“Did you make this? Your cooking is amazing!” The food tasted great. Although they were just home-cooked dishes, they were delicious.

“No, I asked Aunt Zhou from my grandmother’s house to make it.” Aunt Zhou had worked for Tang Yinlang’s grandmother for over twenty years, so her cooking skills were naturally impeccable. Tang Yinlang couldn’t cook, so he asked Aunt Zhou to come and prepare a meal for him.

“Your grandmother’s house is also in Jiangcheng?” This was a rhetorical question; Lin Xia simply wanted to know where Tang Yinlang’s grandmother lived.

“Yes, in Yuanyang District of Jiangcheng.” Yuanyang District was a well-known affluent area in Jiangcheng, not the same level as Lvro Community. The distance between the two districts wasn’t particularly close or far.

“If you don’t mind, you can come to our house for meals.” Although Yuanyang District and Lvro Community weren’t far apart, it wasn’t convenient to always have Aunt Zhou come over. Lin Xia thought considerately.

“Okay.” Lin Xia’s sudden suggestion took Tang Yinlang by surprise. The aloof expression on his face couldn’t be maintained, as the corners of his mouth kept turning upwards.

Lin Xia’s suggestion was indeed very appropriate. Tang Yinlang planned to live in Lvro Community, but he didn’t like having outsiders in his space, so apart from part-time cleaners, he didn’t plan to hire anyone, meaning he could only eat out or order takeout. But no matter how delicious the food outside was, it wasn’t as good as his own. Lin Xia’s suggestion solved his concerns.

What made Tang Yinlang even happier was that Lin Xia’s invitation was a sign of acceptance, wasn’t it?

During the meal, Lin Xia and Bai Tuanzi became closer to Tang Yinlang. After helping to clean up the kitchen, Lin Xia took Bai Tuanzi and the little hamster back.

Bai Tuanzi and the little hamster were the happiest that night because Tang Yinlang said they could come over to play anytime. He had a swimming pool in his backyard, and he would teach them to swim when the weather warmed up. Tang Yinlang even gave Lin Xia a key, allowing them to come whenever they wanted.

Lin Xia wanted to refuse, but thinking that they might become a family in the future, what was the point of being so formal? So he readily accepted.

Lin Xia now understood his own feelings; all that was left was for Tang Yinlang to speak his mind. With a man like Tang Yinlang, he had no reason to refuse. The important thing was that he liked Tang Yinlang, and no one had ever made his heart beat like this before.

“Baby, do you like Uncle Tang?” After finishing the bedtime story, Lin Xia suddenly asked Bai Tuanzi.

Lin Xia knew that if he was going to be with Tang Yinlang, he needed Bai Tuanzi’s approval. Although Bai Tuanzi was still young, Lin Xia couldn’t disregard his feelings.

“Awoo!” Uncle Tang is so nice, An’an likes Uncle Tang very much!

“Then, baby, do you hope Uncle Tang will become family with us?” Lin Xia continued to ask.

“Awoo?” Family? Bai Tuanzi thought for a moment and nodded. Awoo, An’an hopes to become a family with Uncle Tang, so they can play together.

“Then, baby, would you like Uncle Tang to be your other dad?” Lin Xia asked the most difficult question.

“Awoo?” Bai Tuanzi was truly stunned this time.

Bai Tuanzi had always known that he had another father because Uncle Chen Mingjie and his dad had both said that it takes two people to have a child. His dad held a very important place in his heart, because dad meant someone who loved him, cared for him, and liked him just like Lin Xia. Bai Tuanzi didn’t have much feeling for the father who hadn’t appeared, but now that Lin Xia had said this, Bai Tuanzi started to consider the matter of another father.

Watching Bai Tuanzi seriously thinking, Lin Xia’s heart was in his throat. If Bai Tuanzi could accept it, it would be perfect. If not, Lin Xia would rather remain single. Bai Tuanzi was the most important thing to him.

“Awoo?” Will Uncle Tang be as good to An’an as dad? Will he play building blocks and Transformers with An’an? Will Uncle Tang be good to dad? …

Bai Tuanzi raised many questions, taking Lin Xia by surprise. Fortunately, his questions weren’t difficult, and Lin Xia quickly answered them.

“Awoo!” Dad, An’an wants Uncle Tang to be An’an’s other dad! After careful consideration, Bai Tuanzi finally made his decision.

“Mwah!” Lin Xia gave Bai Tuanzi a big kiss.

After putting Bai Tuanzi to sleep, Lin Xia called Chen Mingjie.

“Xiaoxia, what’s up?” Chen Mingjie had been busy lately and hadn’t been to Lin Xia’s place, so he didn’t know that someone was eyeing his Xiaoxia.

“Mingjie, I think I might have fallen for someone.” Lin Xia said, not even noticing the infinite tenderness in his eyes.

“What?!” Chen Mingjie was like a startled cat, completely shocked.

What’s going on? Lin Xia has already fallen for someone in such a short time?!

Chen Mingjie felt a pang of sadness, feeling like his precious cabbage had been taken by a pig.

“Tell me who it is?” Chen Mingjie could tell from Lin Xia’s tone that he was smitten, so he wouldn’t act as the villain. All he could do was help him check out the person.

“Thank you.” Thank you for your silent support. Lin Xia silently said in his heart.

“Humph, I’ll check it out for you, see if they’re reliable.” Chen Mingjie awkwardly hung up the phone and immediately called another number.

“Hello? Jingran? Help me check someone out…”

Chen Mingjie had never heard of Tang Yinlang before, but he was quite impressed. A golden bachelor, young and promising, with no scandals for over twenty years, and everyone around him spoke highly of him. His family members were also known for their unwavering commitment in their relationships, and their reputation was excellent. Chen Mingjie had a strange feeling that his cabbage had fallen for another cabbage.

Jingran’s face was quite sour when he gave him the information. Chen Mingjie carefully took the documents and ran away as quickly as he could, not daring to stay a moment longer.

“Hey! Xiaoxia! Let me tell you, this Tang Yinlang is a good guy, go for it! You don’t want to miss this opportunity…” After receiving the information, Chen Mingjie immediately called Lin Xia.

“I will try my best, thank you!” Lin Xia said, amused.

Author’s Note: Is the relationship progressing too fast? But I like it this way!
