Chapter 53: The Big Dumpling Almost Gets a Nosebleed
“Hua Country Has Hip Hop?” Wang Jiaming and Wang Ziyu spoke in unison, both leaning in to take a look.
Hua Country Has Hip Hop was to be the first hip-hop music talent show in the Hua region, produced by a certain platform. Before this, Hua Country had never hosted a mainstream competition for a niche genre like hip-hop.
“It looks really impressive, but if I go… wouldn’t I seem out of place?” Wang Jiaming said dejectedly, lacking confidence in himself.
“No! Ge, you are amazing. If you go and try, who knows, you might succeed!” Wang Ziyu placed both hands on Jiaming’s shoulders, looking at him earnestly with sparkling eyes.
“I think Ziyu is right. Although I don’t understand music very well, I really think you sing great,” Lin Xia added, encouraging Wang Jiaming.
“Since you both say so, I’ll go back and ask Teacher Luo…” Receiving their affirmation, Wang Jiaming suddenly felt a surge of confidence. But first, he had to go back and ask Teacher Luo to see what he had to say…
Inside the break room, the big dumpling woke up. Opening his sleepy eyes, he saw the little tiger cub sleeping beside him.
The big dumpling crawled out of the covers, planted a kiss on the little tiger, and used his mouth to pull the blanket up over the cub. Only then did he jump off the bed, push open the slightly ajar door, and go look for his beloved Lin Xia.
“Ao!“
Seeing Lin Xia sitting at the counter, the big dumpling couldn’t help but speed up, running toward him.
After a long run-up, the big dumpling successfully leaped up and landed on the counter.
“Slow down.” Lin Xia picked up the big dumpling, checking to see if his wound had opened.
The big dumpling still had bandages wrapped around his head, and the wound hadn’t fully healed. Tonight, he still had to take him to the hospital for a check-up, as per You Hai’s instructions.
“Ao!” My dear, I’m fine!
The big dumpling enjoyed Lin Xia’s concern but didn’t want Lin Xia to worry about him. He rubbed his head against Lin Xia, using his actions to tell him he was okay.
“Alright, I know you’re fine.” Lin Xia placed the big dumpling on the counter and began to comb his fur.
Enjoying the grooming service from his beloved Lin Xia, the big dumpling narrowed his eyes comfortably, his tail swishing back and forth, looking particularly leisurely.
“Okay, turn over.” After combing the back, Lin Xia asked the big dumpling to flip over so he could comb his front.
“Ao!” Seeming to remember something, the big dumpling refused to turn over, his narrowed eyes snapping open.
Lin Xia tried to physically flip the big dumpling over, but to his surprise, the big dumpling refused to budge. His large, watery blue eyes seemed to be protesting.
“What’s wrong?” Lin Xia was confused. The big dumpling was fine just a moment ago; why wouldn’t he let him comb his fur now? He was clearly enjoying it.
“Ao…” The big dumpling dug all four paws firmly into the table, giving Lin Xia no chance to maneuver.
“Alright then.” Seeing the big dumpling’s strong resistance, Lin Xia let him be.
“Ao!” Having gained Lin Xia’s understanding, the big dumpling happily jumped into his arms, rubbing against him incessantly.
Lin Xia felt ticklish from the nuzzling. He thought to himself that such a normally stern and indifferent person had turned into a little tiger with a completely different personality. However, this version of Tang Yinlang was much cuter than his human form.
“What about the baby? Still hasn’t woken up?” Lin Xia asked the big dumpling.
“Ao!” That’s right! The big dumpling nodded.
“Are you hungry?” Lin Xia asked.
“Ao!” Not hungry! The big dumpling shook his head.
“Do you want some milk?” Lin Xia usually made powdered milk for the white dumpling and wondered if the big dumpling would be interested.
“Ao…” I don’t drink stuff for cubs. The big dumpling shook his head in refusal.
“Then how about a glass of juice?” Lin Xia didn’t believe it—surely the big dumpling wanted something to eat or drink?
“Ao!” Okay! The big dumpling nodded, jumped from Lin Xia’s arms onto the counter, and sat obediently waiting for Lin Xia to get the juice.
Lin Xia got up to get the juice for the big dumpling. When he returned, he was holding a cup of orange juice with a straw in it. Lin Xia placed the juice beside the big dumpling, who bit onto the straw and started drinking.
While the big dumpling was drinking his juice, a customer arrived, and Lin Xia went to attend to them. With nothing to do and unable to disturb Lin Xia, the big dumpling lay on the counter and pawed at Lin Xia’s phone.
As for why he was “pawing at” it rather than playing with it—well, the big dumpling didn’t know the password and couldn’t unlock it.
After spinning the phone around a few times with his paws, the big dumpling felt that tiger life was boring, so he decided to leave the counter and spy on Lin Xia.
If he couldn’t disturb Lin Xia’s work, hiding to steal a few glances was surely allowed!
So, the big dumpling climbed to the top of the shelves. After inspecting the pet shop from his high vantage point, he lay down to admire the hard-working Lin Xia.
“This cat food is made from…” The young pet shop owner was introducing various cat foods to the customer. His rosy lips opened and closed, looking like cherries that one couldn’t help but want to taste.
The big dumpling stared at those delicious lips for a long time before reluctantly shifting his gaze elsewhere.
Shifting his gaze was a mistake—what he saw next nearly gave him a nosebleed!
Ao! What was he seeing?!
From his high angle, looking down through Lin Xia’s open collar, the big dumpling saw two points of pink… two protruding red cherries…
The big dumpling felt a certain small thing below him starting to stand up. He wanted to look away immediately, but his eyes seemed glued to the spot, unable to move. He clearly felt his body getting more and more excited, and that wretched little thing below him slowly stood at attention.
“Ao…” The big dumpling roared internally. What do I do now?
Earlier, he hadn’t wanted Lin Xia to comb his front specifically because he didn’t want Lin Xia to see his little thing. Since he had shrunk, that part of him had shrunk too—it wasn’t even as big as Lin Xia’s. He didn’t want Lin Xia to see it; what if Lin Xia made fun of him?
But now, the little thing was standing up. The big dumpling felt his “little brother” and realized it truly was very small. Just like a cub’s. Now he really couldn’t let Lin Xia find out.
The big dumpling stayed on top of the shelves until the little object softened before daring to come down. Once down, he slipped directly into the break room, afraid to go near Lin Xia for fear of discovery.
Lin Xia, who was organizing the shelves, noticed a white figure flash overhead and dash into the break room in the blink of an eye.
“…” What happened? Lin Xia turned his head to look—the big dumpling on the counter was gone, leaving only a phone that had been moved.
“Aowu!…”
The noise the big dumpling made woke up the white dumpling. The white dumpling opened his eyes to see his tiger papa standing on his hind legs, head hanging low, facing the corner of the wall.
“Aowu?” Uncle Tang, are you reflecting on your mistakes? Seeing the big dumpling’s posture, the white dumpling was reminded of the time Lin Xia punished him by making him face the wall.
“Ao…” No, Papa just wants to calm down… The big dumpling flicked his tail in response.
“Aowu~” Then Uncle Tang, you stay busy. An An is going to find Papa. The white dumpling arched his back, shook off the blanket, and jumped off the bed to find Lin Xia.
“Ao.” Okay. The big dumpling watched the white dumpling leave, then continued facing the wall to cool off.
“Aowu~” Papa!
The white dumpling grinned broadly, running toward Lin Xia on all fours.
Lin Xia immediately put down his work and opened his arms so the white dumpling could jump into his embrace.
“Aowu!” Perfect coordination! The dumpling successfully leaped into Lin Xia’s arms, and Lin Xia caught him just in time. This was a little game between father and son.
“Aowu~” Papa, An An wants to drink milk-milk! The white dumpling lifted his face, nuzzling Lin Xia’s neck with his pink nose.
“Okay, Papa will go make it right now.” Lin Xia put down the white dumpling and turned to prepare the milk.
The white dumpling consciously ran to the sofa to wait for the milk Lin Xia was making.
“Aowu…” Yummy, so good to drink…
Lin Xia quickly prepared the milk, and the white dumpling held the bottle and began to suckle.
Sucking while lying on his stomach, sucking while sitting, sucking while lying on his back—the white dumpling had many milk-drinking postures. By the time he finished the bottle, who knew how many positions he had cycled through.
“Aowu!” The white dumpling happily finished the milk and handed the empty bottle to Lin Xia. Lin Xia took it to wash and placed it in the sterilizer.
While Lin Xia was busy, the white dumpling started playing with his phone. Just then, the big dumpling came out of the break room and saw the white dumpling skillfully unlocking the phone with his paw.
“…” I feel like the whole world has failed me…
The big dumpling stopped dead in his tracks, then dejectedly returned to the corner of the break room to continue facing the wall. Even the little tiger cub knew the phone password, but he didn’t. Lin Xia definitely didn’t love him anymore…
The afternoon passed, and it was closing time for the pet shop. Lin Xia and Wang Ziyu cleaned up, and the big dumpling and white dumpling helped too. They stepped on rags with their four paws and dragged them around, scrub-scrub-scrub. The sight of two little tigers moving like that was inexplicably comical; Lin Xia couldn’t help but record it on his phone.
After cleaning, they closed up shop. Lin Xia drove the big dumpling to the hospital for his check-up, as You Hai had given him the address.
When Lin Xia arrived at the hospital, he saw You Hai waiting there. Seeing the white dumpling, You Hai was especially happy to finally see the boss’s son in person.
You Hai took out a red envelope he had prepared earlier and gave it to the white dumpling. The white dumpling received the red envelope and sweetly said thank you, nearly melting You Hai’s heart with cuteness. The big dumpling looked at You Hai with an appreciative “I’m giving you a raise” gaze, which flattered You Hai immensely.
You Hai had contacted the doctor in advance, so as soon as they went in, the big dumpling could get his check-up directly. The doctor mainly checked the big dumpling’s brain. The preliminary examination showed no major issues, and the wound hadn’t reopened. After the doctor changed the dressing, the big dumpling was free to go.
Lin Xia and the others parted ways with You Hai at the hospital. Lin Xia drove to the vegetable market. He left both the big and small dumplings in the car while he went to buy groceries.
Lin Xia planned to buy some seafood, so he went to Big Sister Sui’s stall.
“Lin Xia, here to buy shrimp again? Eh? An An didn’t come?” Big Sister Sui greeted him with a smile.
“I drove today, so I left An An in the car,” Lin Xia replied while selecting fish and shrimp.
“Lin Xia, I wanted to ask you something.” Big Sister Sui needed a favor from Lin Xia and felt a bit embarrassed.
“What is it?” Lin Xia looked up.
“My Er Gou is getting fatter and fatter. I’m worried it’s bad for his health.” Big Sister Sui sighed.
“Er Gou, huh? His weight was already a bit over the limit last time we checked.” Big Sister Sui’s Er Gou was an English Bulldog. Just like his little owner—Big Sister Sui’s son—he loved to eat and hated to move, so he just kept gaining weight.
“Tell me about it! Last check-up you said Er Gou was overweight, so Little Pang’s dad and I started controlling his diet. But he just keeps getting fatter. It’s really worrying me…” Big Sister Sui’s expression was as depressed as her mood.
“How about you bring Er Gou to the pet shop tomorrow for a look?” Lin Xia finished choosing the fish and shrimp and handed the basket to Big Sister Sui. She agreed while efficiently weighing the items.
Lin Xia and Big Sister Sui agreed to meet tomorrow. After leaving her stall, Lin Xia bought other vegetables and quickly returned to the car.
“Ao!” “Aowu!“
Two white furballs were pressed against the car window, eagerly awaiting Lin Xia’s return. As soon as Lin Xia opened the door, before he could even put his things down, he was tackled by the two white dumplings.
The soft touch was incredibly comfortable, and their fleshy bodies were very bouncy. Lin Xia decided that once they got home, he would give both tigers a good petting session.
