Chapter 79: The Secretly Showy Big White Tiger

“That’s enough, you two. You aren’t the main characters here…” Lin Xia looked at Wang Ziyu and the White Dumpling, who were hugging each other and weeping tears of emotion. He felt a headache coming on. He whispered to them while pulling out tissues to wipe their faces.

“Mm!” “Aowu!” Wang Ziyu and the White Dumpling felt that made sense, so they stopped crying.

Lin Xia signaled Chen Mingzong with his eyes, and Chen Mingzong understood immediately. Seeing the Little Hamster being hugged by someone else for so long had made him rather unhappy, even if that person was his brother.

“Let’s eat. Little Hamster hasn’t had dinner yet,” Chen Mingzong said coolly as he stepped forward. The air pressure around him was low; the moment he approached, the three Chen brothers instinctively separated.

“…” Lin Xia suddenly found it puzzling. Auras were truly mystical things. Both Chen Mingzong and Tang Yinlang looked like cold people, but Chen Mingzong’s aura pushed people a thousand miles away. Tang Yinlang, while indifferent, had a gentle aura that perfectly concealed his lethality.

If the two of them stood on the street at the same time and someone wanted to ask for directions, Tang Yinlang would definitely be the first choice…

Chen Zhong and Chen Yaoguang awkwardly let go of the Little Hamster, watching as Chen Mingzong came over, took the Little Hamster by the hand, and led him to his seat.

“…” Big Brother, that is your future husband’s brother! Even though Lin Xia had seen plenty of storms in his life, he felt Chen Mingzong was being too true to his nature. Couldn’t he at least pretend to be polite (and restrain himself) a little?!

Chen Yaoguang’s reaction was fine; he already knew Chen Mingzong liked the Little Hamster. But Chen Zhong didn’t know. Seeing the interaction between Chen Mingzong and the Little Hamster—and considering he was also with a man—he quickly guessed the relationship between them.

Chen Zhong looked at Lin Xia blankly, wanting to know what was going on. Lin Xia made a ‘calm down’ gesture, signaling he would tell him later. Chen Zhong understood, closed his mouth, and silently sat down next to Lu Mou.

“Does anyone want drinks?” Lin Xia invited everyone to sit and began pouring beverages. There was cola, orange juice, and coconut milk, all freshly bought from the neighborhood store. They were room temperature, so it was fine for the kids to drink.

“Aowu!” Papa, An’an wants cola! The White Dumpling licked the corner of his mouth, holding his cup and pouting his lips toward Lin Xia.

“Okay.” Lin Xia poured him a cup of cola. The cup had a straw, so the White Dumpling could drink it himself.

“Aowu…” The White Dumpling drank too fast and choked on the fizz. His nose was filled with the smell of cola.

“Drink slowly,” Lin Xia said softly, pinching the White Dumpling’s nose gently.

“This cat is quite clever!” Lu Mou laughed. The interaction between the human and the tiger was so prominent it was hard to ignore. Aside from Chen Zhong and Lu Mou, everyone else either knew the truth or was used to it.

Lu Mou and Chen Zhong were puzzled. Did someone really bring a cat to the dinner table? But seeing everyone else’s calm demeanor, they didn’t ask. Asking would only make them look strange.

However, this cat was incredibly smart and truly likeable. No wonder Lin Xia and the others treasured it so much.

“He is,” Lin Xia smiled. The White Dumpling wasn’t an ordinary animal; of course he was clever.

“Aowu!” An’an is super smart! The White Dumpling puffed out his chest, looking proud.

“Eat more fish. Eating fish makes you smarter.” Lin Xia placed a piece of de-boned fish into his bowl. The White Dumpling opened his mouth and, with an Aowu, rolled the meat into his mouth with his tongue.

“Yaoguang, studying is hard work, you should eat more too,” Lin Xia said, placing some fish in Chen Yaoguang’s bowl as well.

“Thanks, Brother Lin!” Chen Yaoguang’s heart warmed. A smile floated in his eyes, forming the same crescent-moon shape as the Little Hamster’s.

“Brother Lin, I’m a student too. Why didn’t you give me any?” Wang Ziyu jumped out to fight for favor. His words sounded a bit shameless, but he wasn’t wrong. He was a university student, and university students were students too!

“…Here, thank you for your hard work,” Lin Xia didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as he gave him a piece of fish.

“Thanks, Brother Lin~” Wang Ziyu thought his voice sounded sweet, but it grossed everyone else out.

“Ugh!” The others got goosebumps from Wang Ziyu’s tone.

While everyone’s attention was on Wang Ziyu, Tang Yinlang, who had been eating silently, reached out and quickly tugged on the corner of Lin Xia’s shirt. Then, he immediately pretended as if nothing had happened.

“…Hm?” Lin Xia was confused by his action and looked at him quizzically.

“…” Tang Yinlang tapped his chopsticks but didn’t speak.

“Aowu!” Papa, Babi definitely wants you to give him some fish too! Babi, An’an is right, isn’t he! The assist, White Dumpling, wagged his tail and spoke with certainty. After speaking, he looked at Tang Yinlang for credit.

“Oh!” One sentence woke the dreamer. Lin Xia suddenly realized Tang Yinlang’s intention.

Tsk tsk, I didn’t expect Tang Yinlang to be this men sao (secretly showy). He even competes for this!

“Here, you’ve worked hard too.” Lin Xia smiled and placed a piece of fish in Tang Yinlang’s bowl. Although Tang Yinlang got the meat, he wasn’t happy at all. In fact, he regretted it slightly. This behavior was childish; it didn’t seem like something a mature, steady man like him would do.

“Mn.” Tang Yinlang nodded faintly. There was no joy on his face, as if Lin Xia serving him food caused no fluctuation in his emotions. But he ate it quickly, finishing it in one or two bites.

Confirmed. Secretly showy… Lin Xia snickered inwardly. He suddenly missed the Big White Tiger. The Big White Tiger without his memories didn’t know how to “pretend.” He did whatever he thought of, just as candid and cute as the White Dumpling.

However, the secretly showy Tang Yinlang wasn’t bad either!

“Come on, let’s toast!” Mong Zheng suggested. In reality, his goal was to take a photo of everyone toasting to post on his WeChat Moments.

“Cheers!” Lin Xia agreed. Everyone raised their cups of juice. Cheers!

The White Dumpling got excited too. He held his cup with both paws, mimicking the toasting motion.

“Wait a second, let me take a picture!” Mong Zheng hurriedly picked up his phone to record the moment…

After the pleasant meal ended, everyone cleaned up together. Once that was done, Lin Xia and Chen Zhong found a quiet place to talk.

“Sit,” Lin Xia smiled.

“Thanks.” Chen Zhong sat down nervously, his hands fidgeting. He had a premonition that what Lin Xia was about to say matched his guess.

“I believe you’ve guessed it. Brother Mingzong and A-Yi…” Lin Xia sat down as well, keeping his eye level with Chen Zhong. “Brother Mingzong likes A-Yi. He treats A-Yi very well. Not only does he treat him for free, but he also arranged a job for him…”

“Is that so…” Chen Zhong listened as Lin Xia listed all the good things Chen Mingzong did for the Little Hamster. He lowered his eyes, lost in thought. His lips moved; he wanted to say something but didn’t dare. Finally, he made up his mind. “A-Yi… is he willing?”

Chen Yi’s IQ was like that of a child; how could he understand romance? If Chen Mingzong wanted to develop a relationship with him, was it possible that it wasn’t based on Chen Yi’s own will?

But Chen Zhong knew in his heart that given Chen Yi’s condition, it was already a blessing that someone was willing to accept him…

“I considered that problem at the very beginning too. But I discovered that A-Yi has his own thoughts. He can make his own decisions. You can see that he is very happy when he is with Brother Mingzong.” The Little Hamster wasn’t as foolish as everyone thought. Although he had mental issues, his judgment remained. He knew what he wanted and what he wanted to do.

“Mn.” Chen Zhong felt Lin Xia made sense. A-Yi had always been smart. He believed that even if he had become like this, the cleverness in his bones hadn’t changed…

After talking it out, Chen Zhong’s steps were much lighter. His biggest worry, Chen Yi, was living well and being loved. He could rest easy.

It was getting late, and everyone began to say their goodbyes. Wang Ziyu and Mong Zheng rode their e-scooter back to school. Chen Mingzong, driving a car, took the Little Hamster’s brothers back. However, Chen Zhong, Lu Mou, and Chen Yaoguang got off together at the night market. Chen Zhong wanted to buy clothes for his younger brothers and speak with Chen Yaoguang about something.

The two brothers walked side by side, with Lu Mou following behind. Both brothers were of the thin and weak type, but Chen Yaoguang was taller than Chen Zhong.

“Yaoguang, how have things been lately?” Actually, Chen Zhong and Chen Yaoguang weren’t close. Their conversation was dry.

“Alright,” Chen Yaoguang answered.

“Do you have enough money? If not, tell Big Brother.” Although they weren’t very close, Chen Zhong still liked this younger brother.

“I have enough, Big Brother, don’t worry,” Chen Yaoguang said hurriedly. Big Brother didn’t have it easy, and besides, he really did have enough money. Mom and Dad spoiled him and never shortchanged him financially. Plus, a kind person was sponsoring his studies this semester.

“Alright. Tell me if you lack anything. I live right around here; come find me if you need anything.” Chen Zhong patted Chen Yaoguang’s shoulder.

“Okay!” Chen Yaoguang beamed, not because of the convenience Chen Zhong offered, but because their brotherly bond remained.

“By the way, you figured out the relationship between me and Brother Lu, right?” Chen Zhong openly stated his relationship with Lu Mou, feeling lighter than ever before.

Before this, he wouldn’t have dared to easily mention his relationship with Lu Mou. But tonight, he had met “his own kind.” They were so confident and dazzling, not bothering to pretend. They gave him the courage to speak out.

“I figured it out.” Chen Yaoguang had worked part-time at the pet shop for a while. The people there liked the same sex. After staying with them for so long, Chen Yaoguang thought everyone looked gay.

“Do you have any other thoughts about it?” Chen Zhong worried his brother couldn’t accept this kind of relationship.

“No,” Chen Yaoguang shook his head and said sincerely, “I really think it’s nothing. Don’t worry about my opinion or anyone else’s.”

“Mn.” Chen Zhong grinned.

“By the way, Big Brother, you aren’t going to tell Mom and Dad about your return to Jiang City, are you?” Chen Yaoguang felt Chen Zhong should have his own life. Plus, he hadn’t come home in years—it was practically a severance of ties. There was no need to drag the family into it.

“I’ll let nature take its course. My return can’t be hidden forever; what will come will come.” Chen Zhong was open-minded about it. Since he chose to return to Jiang City, he had to face these things, even though he didn’t want to have any dealings with those parents again.

“I understand,” Chen Yaoguang nodded.

“I suddenly feel their actions might have been correct.” Chen Zhong thought of something, and a sarcastic smile curled his lips. “Look, both A-Yi and I are with men. The Chen family is relying on you to carry on the lineage.”

Chen Zhong spoke ironically, making a joke. Could Chen Dad and Chen Mom have predicted that they would be with men in the future, hence the bias? But how was that possible? Bias was something ingrained in their bones…

“Rely on me? I might not necessarily…” Chen Yaoguang thought of his parents and smiled just as sarcastically.

“Huh?” Chen Zhong didn’t understand for a moment.

“Big Brother, we might all be the same…” Chen Yaoguang looked up into the distance, through the gates of the night market. Inside, voices were boiling over, lights illuminated the darkness. It was another world…

Author’s note: The Big White Tiger has men sao (secretly showy/passionate) attributes… Chen Dad and Chen Mom haven’t received their punishment yet; the Chen family story isn’t over… The best punishment is denying them what they want most, no matter how hard they try… All their sons like men. For Chen Dad, who values “face” above all else, this must be terrifying… Chen Yaoguang’s other half has appeared before, but I bet you can’t guess who >_< Goodnight~
